The author captivates the reader into the storyline very quickly. The characters are brought to life with realistic descriptions of everyday events. Soon the reader looks forward to turning each and every page. This was a thoroughly interesting book which was enjoyable to read.
This is the first YA paranormal romance I’ve read in a long time. I am so happy I listened when a friend recommended this book. I love it when a girl gets the boy of her dreams – literally. I’m not going to give you any spoilers, but I will say I had all the feelings as I read it.
It is my favorite YA debut novel. It gets a little confusing in the beginning but stick with it the author finds her groove and everything is tied up in the end.
You are gonna love it.
Overall, the premise of the story was very good! For me, the beginning was a little slow, it picked up around the end of part 2 and part 3 kept me reading. I know this is young adult romance which I usually do not read but I would’ve liked more drama and connection between Stavros and Addie, like Bella and Edward in Twilight. If you like YA romance though, I would recommend this one.
KNOW ME by Jane Defosse is a YA Romance. Adelaide/Addie and her brother Jake are hiking when she falls and rolls down the hiking trail. While she is unconscious she sees and talks to her grandparents that have been dead for several years. When she awakes she finds herself in the hospital with a concussion and a scar on her cheek. At 17 Addie wants to fall in love and now feels the scar will prevent anyone from loving her. In her dreams she keeps hearing a guys voice and at times sees him. On the first day of school, while putting books in her locker, a guy comes up to her. She looks at him and realizes this is the guy in her dreams. Addie is immediately interested in him and he is interested in her. They start dating and realize there is something special between them.
I usually do not read books with magical realism but this story kept my interest to the very last page. Addie’s brother Jake brings humor to the book. I loved the older brother little sister dynamic. If you love books with suspense and romance I highly recommend this book. Thank you to Jane Defosse for a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Oh young love. I’m sure in high school we all wished we could have the man of our dreams. Literally. Well lucky Adelaide/Addie does get him.
Did you ever read the Twilight Series? Remember how Edward felt that his love for Bella would never work out because of the whole being a vampire issue? Remember how you rooted for them and their steamy romance? This is much of the same.
Things never get really hot and heavy in this book, but it does make you want more romance. Things are going well for Addie and Stravos, but he always seems like he’s in pain when they are together. All the sudden something forbidden is having him break it off with Addie. This is why it reminded me of Twilight.
Typical boy can’t handle his personal issues, so he breaks it off without a good reason why. Of course Addie is upset, especially when Stravos throws out the “we can still be friends” line. Oh for the love!
This is where the romance stops and they magical realism begins. You see Addie hasn’t always been called Addie. Same goes with Stravos.
This part in the book lost me for a minute because I do not read magical realism anything. I was glad it all came full circle in the end, and I was not left with any questions.
I did think this was a quick read and I liked all the high school relationship talk.
If you like a good romance with a little magic, then look no further.
Thank you @katerockbooktours and @janedefossé for letting me be on this book tour.

Imagine your teenage self literally meeting the hot guy in your dreams in real life
This book grabs a hold of you quickly as we meet Adelaide who suffers an accident that has her feeling insecure about a scar on her face. She begins to hear a voice that speaks to her after her accident. One day Addie meets Stravos a new guy at school and if Addie isn’t losing it he is the same hot nameless guy from her dreams.
Jane Defosse doesn’t write your typical teenage romance here. She writes a unique layered story filled with a magical realism aspect which is quite interesting.
This is a wonderful debut book and I look forward to reading more by Jane Defosse in the future.
If you’re a fan of YA Romance, Magical Realism, Suspense books this one is definitely worth reading!
This is such a fun book to read! It touches on so many emotions. One minute I’m laughing so hard, and the next, feeling so sad for the main character, Adelaide. I love that the author explores the possibility that maybe we have lived many lives before this current one, and our previous lives determine what we experience in this one.
A really great love story!
I adored this book! Jane Desfosse writes a great YA novel. Now I am not a young adult so I kept that in mind while reading a reviewing this book.
Adelaide is a wonderful young woman who is easy going. She is not looking for a relationship till a new boy shows up at school. She feels this pull to him and she’s is wondering why? She is not a boy crazy team like most. So when she can’t stop thinking about him she is shocked at herself. Starvous is everything she is looking for and more. BUT what she doesn’t know is how much more. This book has a bit of romance and fantasy to it. It even leaves you thinking could these things really happen? I guarantee there is one part of this book you will google to see if there is such a thing. I just can’t tell you what that is.
