As the daughter of the Coast Devils MC President, Kira Tolleson was raised around dangerous men. But her father, Crest Tolleson, always took pains to keep Kira out of the violent chaos surrounding the club.
When a rival gang massacres the Coast Devils, including Kira’s father, she knows their brutality will not spare her if she is found.
In desperation Kira flees to the Arizona desert to find … Arizona desert to find the one man who might help her.
His name is Orion. As leader of the Defiant MC, he is tough, explosive, unbearably sexy.
And once, he was her father’s best friend.
Confronted by the innocent young woman he’d known long ago, Orion agrees to take her in.
That is, if Kira is willing to meet his terms…

Know Me is the first book in the Defiant MC romance series.
Kira, a Berkley student, decides to make an impromptu visit to her father, Crest Tolleson, the president of the Coast Devils MC. It’s a split decision that may have saved her life. When the rival gang attacks and massacres the Coast Devils, they threaten to track down Kira next, but they think she’s at Berkley. This gives Kira time to make it to her only hope of safety, Orion her father’s childhood friend and now the leader of the Defiant MC. However, Kira only has one thing to offer Orion in exchange for his protection: herself. Will Orion use her and pass her to the other members of the Defiant MC as she has seen so many times in her father’s MC? Or can Kira claim Orion as her man?
I had actually read the second book in the Defiant MC series (Protect Me) before I read Know Me. It may be the one criticism that I have about this series. The books aren’t numbered even though their is a chronological order in the characters’ lives. In Promise Me I had already met and fallen in love with the free spirited Kira and her quiet but attentive Orion so I was anxious to read how they got together. In Know Me Orion’s character is well developed and I enjoyed gaining more insight into this quiet bear of a man. Kira is the same light hearted, strong willed young woman that I met in Promise Me. In Promise Me there’s a spoiler that I won’t share, but I’m anxious for the tidbits to continue in future installments to see how this spoiler affects the Defiant MC family.
I really enjoyed and fell in love with all the characters in the Defiant MC family and highly recommend Know Me and also Promise Me.
Kira and Orion make quite the interesting May/December pair in this MC tale. Kira has been around MCs her whole life, but her father worked hard to make sure that is little girl as shielded as much as possible from the realities of being the daughter of a chapter president, but when a rival gang kills not only her father but the entire club Kira must take action to protect herself. The only person she knows she can trust is her fathers ex VP that until 10 years ago was his right hand. With no one else to turn to Kira makes her way to the mysterious and dangerous Orion and his Defiant MCs. She expected the man to be gruff but what she wasn’t counting on was for the devilishly handsome Orion to expect her to become his Old Lady in exchange for protection. Being hopelessly inexperienced she is intrigued and since she needs his help she agrees. She falls deeper and deeper for the enigmatic leader and hopes that he wayward man feels the same. He’s a man that is used to the open road and no rules and she’s a innocent girl running from trouble – sounds like a recipe for a HEA!
