A perfect dark cowboy romance. I loved Jake’s dominance and pure love for Conor. I loved the estate and ranch. I loved the swoony sexiness. My kind of read for sure! 5 Stars.
OMG! What did you do to me, Pam? My little black heart cried *buckets* reading Knotted. Beautifully brutal story that ripped out my heart, then patched it back together.
I am now convinced there is nothing that Pam Godwin can’t write, and that includes the sexiest western one could imagine. With her dark, poetic prose, she manages to write one of the most captivating stories. I can’t wait for this series to continue.
You have never been completely wrecked until you have picked up a Pam Godwin book. I must be a sick woman the way I crave being completely ripped apart, stripped painfully bare, and slowly put back together one tiny piece at a time. Pam Godwin slays me with each of her books. Reading this book feels like I’ve gotten the breath knocked right out of me. Can a book kill you? I think I might die from an overabundance of emotions.
Jake, Jarrett, Lorne, and Conor are as close as close can be. I love their friendship, sense of family, and undying loyalty. So the horror they are made to endure broke me deep inside my soul. It shapes their futures and forever changes them. This moment is so monumental that it literally stole my breath and I couldn’t breathe. I felt like I was dying along with Conor and I cried. My heart broke for Conor throughout this entire book because she felt so broken and dirty. I cried with her on the side of the road and when a part of herself shattered into a million pieces. And Jake. The boy I wanted to punch in the face and kiss for his selfless love for Conor. He was willing to do anything to protect her, even if it meant hurting her. I loved the way he helped heal Conor’s heart and soul. The fact that she put that trust in him due to their long history and the love they always shared. The bond between Conor and Jake was so beautiful. Their love is filled with music, childhood memories, pain, torment, regret, trust, darkness, and undying love.
I was addicted to this book and damn it was hard to put down. These characters go through so much. There are lots of shocking moments that will send you reeling. Its also very hot and sexy. These four characters are all so amazing and permanently scarred by one night. But damn if I don’t love them and I really can’t wait for Jarrett’s book and especially Lorne’s book.
What in the world just happened? Knotted had knocked the wind out of myself.. The cover was stunning… a simple stereotype of Cowboy…dirty rough man… oh yeass, it was part of it and so much more.. The story had a strong journey… a powerful message behind every secret.. Jake and Conor were a young teenager who fell in love …its not an easy love but full of gritty darkness.. a tremendous pain and sorrow.. a price that had to be paid..
Knotted is a fresh read and it was written thoughtfully with every emotions.. Emotions that were not easy as blurting a gossip but many that can haunt your soul…
My oh my.. I truly enjoyed this book.. with so much suspense… a time where it can crush my heart and blush my love with steamy seduction… I need my own Jake.. my sexy dirty talker cowboy

Jake wanted to help Coner overcome her fears and past, can Coner ever forgive him for walking away from her and what happened while she was gone.
Normally I’m not someone who judges a book by its cover but when I saw the cover of this book I thought this was going to be a cheesy romance. And I was completely blown away and couldn’t have been more wrong. This was heartbreaking, this was dark, this was sexy, this was romantic… this was everything.
It’s a short read. I read it in a few hours.
And I’m off to buy the second book now!
5+*****
Have you heard about this book? I hadn’t until just recently and since I had a free day, I wanted to see what all the hubbub was about. OMG!!! Where do I even begin? I read the teasers and it sounded like a second chance romance done cowboy style. Yeah, right!!! It’s so much more than that. It’s light and innocence, it’s deep and dark, it’s love and hate, it’s frigid and HOT as Hades. So many emotions, so much empathy, love, and hatred. I was literally glued to this book until I finished Jake and Connor’s story. If you have triggers be warned, it could set someone off but the storyline and characters are fully developed with an intense plot running through that gives us a happy ending and yet leaves the bigger picture with a cliffhanger that I can’t wait to find out about.
What an incredibly moving story that will make you feel all kinds of emotions. The story revolves around Conor and Jake. Two teens in love, who want to show each other how much. But something takes that away from them and they are separated. Conor has to deal with her tragedy basically on her own and this author describes in detail how Conor feels to the point you can feel in your heart and soul what she is going thru. Jake has his reasons for staying away from Conor and she wants answers when she comes back to confront him. Jake is a definite alpha male, but has a heart of gold, especially when it comes to Conor, and her brother Lorne and his brother Jarrett. All play big parts in this as well. This story has some very sensitive subjects in it, but this author handled it with care and respect. I truly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Exceptional
Four friends Jake, Connor, Jarret and Lorne live together on their family ranch and life is good until a devastating incident one night robs them of not just their teenage innocence but life as they know it throwing them into a spiral of six years of secrets, lies and heartache until it’s time for them to honor a pact and put things right again. This is the first book of this author that I have read and I loved it as you can see by the five stars that I gave it which is something I don’t give out often. The characters were so lovable, protective and caring towards each other, the story line was so addictive and enthralling just full of so much emotion and rawness in the way the characters cared for each other. I won’t lie some of the content might be hard for some readers as it delves into the subject of rape but the way the characters come together to help each other heal, trust and forgive is just brilliant. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
I read all three books in this series. Loved the characters and the plots, and would have given five stars but for some distracting editing errors. It shouldn’t be that difficult for an author and/or editor to know the difference between homing and honing, but this error carried through all three books.
Wow
I don’t even know where to start with this book, it was amazing. The story had me addicted from the start to finish. Once I started the story I couldn’t put down. The story had me heartbroken. Conor and Jake go through so much throughout this book.
Conor and her brother Lorne have lived with there best friends Jake and Jarret for years. Conor and Jake are the sweetest couple they are so happy but on Conor’s sixteenth birthday things don’t go the way they had things planned. They all had witness the worst thing that could happen and things go down hill from the moment. Conor and Jake are never the same after what happened. But neither will the group of friends. Things don’t get easier for any of them they all have to deal with more heart break and drama. Conor is taken away from every one that she needs she doesn’t know what is happening with her life all she knows is that she is alone and doesn’t know if she can ever trust the people she was the closest to again.
I m big fan of second chance romance but this book isn’t like your normal one. This book shows that things don’t alway go to plan where love in concerned. But in the end love alway wins not matter what you have to go through. Friendships are also tested but this group of friends know how to look out for the people they love even if they have to tell a few lies to make things right.
Conor is a great heroine she is so strong and beauiful. Sometime she doesn’t feel so strong and feels like she can’t live with what’s goin on in her life. But she doesn’t let her past win. She knows what she has to do even if it’s on her own. Conor just doesn’t know that she’s not alone.
Jake is just brilliant I love him. The thing he has seen and done have change him. He is more harder but he uses that strength to make things right in his life. He might have to hurt the person he loves the most but he will do anything to protect the people he loves. The sexy cowboy is so alpha I really love how protective he is of his group of family. Conor Jarret and Lorne mean everything to him.
This book is totally amazing I would highly recommend it. The story flowed all the way through. There isn’t a part of it that getting boring I wanted to keep turning every page. I needed to know how things were goin to go with Conor and Jake. The story did get a lil hard to read in parts but I just put my big girl pants on haha. I wouldn’t change anything of the story the hard parts were what made me feel what Conor had to go through. This author really knows how to keep you at the edge of your sit. Every book I’ve read from her I’ve been addicted to. I know This series is goin to be the same in really looking forward to more of this series. I just know Jarret story Buckled and Lorne story Booted are goin to be just had good had this book.
Absolutely adored this book!!
When I first started reading this book I loved the way it was heading and then boom! It. Happened. I knew it was going to happen but I still wasn’t prepared for the emotional effect that it would have on me. It was intense. It was brutal. It was heartbreaking.
Jake and Conor had there whole future mapped out and one night changed them forever. We fast forward to six years later and you can still feel both characters heartache. They were both suffering from that night but in different way. Jake and Conor had such a love/hate relationship. I along with Conor resented Jake and his actions but once you find out his reasoning it makes sense. I have to say I love how no matter what happened to Conor she kept fighting. So many people would have crumbled given her circumstances and she flourished.
This book had my heart and stomach in some serious knots if I do say so myself! This was my first time reading Pam Godwin and now I see why a lot of my book friends rave about her stories! I normally don’t read about cowboys but I’m loving the ones that Godwin created! The book was well written, intense and at times heartbreaking. I loved the characters and I can’t wait to read Jarrett’s book next!
I absolutely love Pam Godwin as her stories have the perfect edgy and emotional combination. I thought Jake and Conor were so sexy and engaging and i could not get enough of their banter, chemistry and connection. This was fantastic!
I was super excited to start the first book in Godwin’s sexy new cowboy series, Trails of Sin, as I knew she was going to take me on an unforgettable ride. Right away this story started off on a crazy and intense bang. It was emotional and heartbreaking but it set the tone for the story. I loved that Conor and Jake’s love story had the dark and intense edge that I love in a Pam Godwin novel but it also had emotional and touching moments that differentiated it from her previous darker books. I really loved Jake’s patience and committment for justice and getting Conor back.
All in all this was a great read and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. Bravo! 4 stars!
What can I even say about this book!?!?!
I’ll be honest, the first chapter was difficult. As, I’m sure, was intended. I knew what was coming (I totally ruin books by reading reveiws) and it was still hard.
Yet, this book was absolutely amazing.. I stayed up WAY too late reading it, but then had to immediately hit the next book (Buckled) right after!!
No one without proper education should try to “cure” someone of their ptsd.
amazing
Conor Cassidy has been through hell and is still stuck there, every day since her sixteenth birthday. This book is dark and I usually love that but it was also very realistic, so much so that I quit around chapter six or seven. This poor girl’s life just kept getting worse and I couldn’t see how a HEA would be possible after all of this but I’m glad I stuck with it because my fear was unfounded.
The assault was awful in every way, but years later she’ll learn there was so much more to it. Conor stopped living at the age of sixteen after losing her innocence, her brother and the boy she loved. Since then, she’s just been going through the motions and there’s no joy in her life, no connections, no friends. She eventually meets a man but their relationship is completely one-dimensional. The night of her sixteenth birthday was the beginning of the end of two families and the events that took place shaped four young lives.
These characters are amazing. Conor is so strong and resilient and capable to have withstood everything that’s happened in her life. Her life would have broken a lot of people, but she never gives in to despair, even if it’s eating her alive from the inside every minute of every day. She’s confused and alone but she perseveres. I wasn’t a huge Jake fan immediately because I don’t like the idea that he knew what was best for her and had to hurt her, keeping her in the dark, for her own good. Once the details all come to light though, he probably did the right thing. They were teenagers with unimaginable burdens on their shoulders so Jake did the best he could with his limited power and resources. Conor doesn’t like it but she agrees it was the best way to handle things under the circumstances.
This story is about loss and suffering but it’s mainly about redemption and saving those you love. It’s a beautiful tale and Pam Godwin has a gift for words. I almost never highlight quotes but there are so many great lines here which are just lyrical, poetic and gorgeous. This is an emotional rollercoaster, dark and a little scary but also steamy and just lovely. I can’t this is the first book in the Trails Of Sin series and I can’t wait to read the others because it seems like the suspense subplot will continue to unravel and that’s a fascinating story on it’s own. However, this can be read as a standalone with a HEA and no cliffhangers. Despite a rough beginning, I enjoyed this story so much and will probably read it again.
