I’m a walking contradiction. School principal who liberally drops the F bomb. Fiercely independent yet willing to auction myself off for charity. Serial monogamist who’s down for a no-strings one-night stand. Except now I’ve gone from one-working-ovary to co-parent in the time it took a stick to turn blue. F. Bomb. Ian Donovan may be a richer-than-hell venture capitalist, but he’s no Prince … venture capitalist, but he’s no Prince Charming ready to sweep me off my feet. Good thing I don’t need him. I’ve been doing fine on my own for forty years, and I’m not about to start changing that now.
Ultrasounds, swollen feet, midnight cravings? Bring. It. On.
But why is it when you finally swear off men, you meet one who’s too sexy–and determined we can make it work?

Loved it!
I don’t know why it took me so long to read this romance with accidental pregnancy. I loved the confident female lead. It’s not one of my favorite tropes but the author may have changed my mind about that. Erin is 40, dresses as she likes and has decided to break the cycle of unsuitable relationships and go blissfully solo, even when she discovers she’s having a baby. The baby daddy is a one night stand guy who has no inclination or time for a relationship. But a son or daughter? That may be something he needs to make time for. Too bad he’s a workaholic and his business always takes precedent.
The writing is good, the characters well-wrought and it’s a step above the usual romance with the accidental baby trope. I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend it. I will be looking for more by Julie Hammerle.
Thanks to Entangled/August and NetGalley for providing a galley copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
I loved the book except for the end. I felt like the ending did a disservice to the book. It showed their relationship trouble through the book. I didn’t like the baby magically made everything better ending. There was some obvious work between them and the epilogue but that was glossed over and I felt like a disservice to every one who went along with their ride as a reader. When the hardest part didn’t make the cut.
Nice to see a professional (principal) let loose and act normal.
Couldn’t put it down!
Enjoyable read
The book was good, but why does the end always have to be crammed into the end. Like somebody said “times up, put your pen down
What fun. I’m a sucker for the unexpected pregnancy trope. The characters are well drawn and their interactions are amusing and engaging. I especially liked that the main characters are mature, and successful in life. They just need to find true love.

Great characters dealing with life realistically. Romantic . Life gets in the way!
It’s been a while since I have indulged in chick lit. I forgot how sugary and cute they can be. And predictable. Boy and girl meet, things go well, throw in some drama, kiss and make up, and TADA! HEA. Simple, predicable formula. It’s kind of like watching the Hallmark channel, just funnier. Don’t get me wrong because there is nothing wrong with any of this…so long as you have all the right ingredients. Which, I am happy to say, Knocked-Up Cinderella has.
Quick run-down of the story: Erin is a school principal of a prestigious school is at a fundraiser where she is to be auctioned off as a date. She’s not a very conventional educator as she is a bit of a wild child and has a potty mouth. Before the auction, she meets Ian, richer venture capitalist who is single, has dating rules and plans on being single forever. On a whim, he buys her at the auction, they get along REALLY GREAT, bump ugly and whoopsie! have a condom malfunction. This is their story from her getting caught scratching her butt to a final HEA.
I really did like the book. It was somewhat hard not to. Erin is fairly sassy and her inner musings were entertaining. Ian has a few issues, but still likable. He’s is sold to us as somewhat of a manwhore, however, while he did have a few dating rules, I didn’t find him to be all that smutty. Their interactions both in and out of the bedroom are entertaining and I did find myself chuckling quite a bit.
I think the real selling point to the story is neither of them are spring chicks. Nope, both are in their 40s…and about to be parents. Which, is a nice change from the standard romance of twenty-somethings getting knocked-up. Erin’s friends are great and but I wasn’t quite the fan of Ian’s. As nice as they were, I found them to border on the man-child side that I’m not a big fan of. Still, their friendships, inputs and added dramas helped the story flow along.
Knocked- Up Cinderella is the first book of Julie Hammerle that I have read. It was entertaining and a nice change of pace from my regular choice of romance. It certainly reads quick and had quite a few selling points to it that I found refreshing. Definitely something rom-com readers will enjoy.
I received this book from The JeepDiva with the express purpose of an honest review. The opinions, contents, and rating of this review are solely mine
Stars – 3.5
“These flimsy pieces of garbage were not going to cut it. The girl needed a power washing.” Just close your eyes and imagine someone saying that about a baby that has pooped her diaper and try not to laugh. I bet you can’t. That is just one of the many hilarious situations in this romantic comedy. The fact the characters are of a mature age adds even more to the hilarity. The author has done a fantastic job with the situational aspects of the story by looking at how Erin and her sister Katie viewed life as they were ten years apart. She also looked at various aspects of relationships in a light and fun way. Ian and Erin made the rules of their relationship about what would make them happy and it did.
I enjoyed this book but the only Cinderella part was in the opening scene how she wore a Cinderella dress. I really liked the h but the H didn’t really pull through how I hoped he would. The book was very well written.
Erin finally finds time for herself. She is planning to make changes and has no idea how serious that would become. Then she meets Ian and its as if the sparks cannot help themselves.
Ian is happy being rich and single. He runs a successful business and does not have time to give to others who might demand of it. Then he meets Erin and all bets are off. He has to have more time with her. He craves it.
I found the chase kind of charming. This story is difference but the HEA gets there. I love that the author gives us more story, more real pieces of their lives. This was an ending that it builds to and I enjoyed reading about that climb.
***This ARC was given in exchange for an honest review, by Netgalley and its publisher.
Light enjoyable read. At times laugh out loud. If you are reading just for fun, this would be your book
It was an okay read but I don’t know if I would have kept giving Ian so many chances.
What a fun read! Witty and entertaining! Love the characters and the plot!
KNOCKED-UP CINDERELLA has many LOL moments. ‘Cinderella’ (aka Erin Sharpe) is NOT your stereotypical elementary school administrator. Principal Sharpe is caught in a less than dignified position by former alumni, Ian Donovan, while they are both hiding out at a fundraiser for the school. Let the games begin.
KNOCKED-UP CINDERELLA is the first book I have read by Julie Hammerle. It is a fun, quick read…perfect for self-quarantining COVID fatigue.
more mature heroine than average . Good entertaining read
This story had exceptionally well written characters and a plot that grabbed your attention. Great story!

What a refreshing, fun book with great humor. This is different than my usual paranormal romance, but so good. The characters are fun, relatable, react appropriately and grow throughout the book. I loved Erin, she’s the main female character. She’s intelligent, independent, knows what she wants, is use to being the boss and very likable. I love her personality. Ian is the main male character he’s a bit broken, from something in his childhood, he’s strong, driven, successful and married to his business. Travelers a lot and is a no relationship kind of guy.
Sometimes in life things happen we don’t plan on, then there’s a lot of decisions to make. A lot of mistakes are made and a lot of hurt happens.
This is certainly nothing like Cinderella, or any type of remake of Cinderella. It is a delightful, fun, refreshing book, that I loved. I highly recommend this book, if you haven’t read it already read it. This was a new Author for me, but won’t be anymore.
