I’m a walking contradiction. School principal who liberally drops the F bomb. Fiercely independent yet willing to auction myself off for charity. Serial monogamist who’s down for a no-strings one-night stand. Except now I’ve gone from one-working-ovary to co-parent in the time it took a stick to turn blue. F. Bomb. Ian Donovan may be a richer-than-hell venture capitalist, but he’s no Prince … venture capitalist, but he’s no Prince Charming ready to sweep me off my feet. Good thing I don’t need him. I’ve been doing fine on my own for forty years, and I’m not about to start changing that now.
Ultrasounds, swollen feet, midnight cravings? Bring. It. On.
But why is it when you finally swear off men, you meet one who’s too sexy–and determined we can make it work?

I haven’t really read many books where the heroine is above 40. Having a more mature female lead was a nice change!
Erin is a 40-years-old elementary school principal. She’s kind of an unconventional one since she swears a lot and is not really social. She meets Ian when he wins an auction for a date with her. He’s “Clark Kent” kind of hot; both smart and nerdy hot! After their night together, what they didn’t anticipate was an accidental pregnancy.
It was really interesting to see the relationship between these two. Ian is a workaholic, he lives for his job and doesn’t really care about anything else. Erin really wants this co-parenting thing to work but his letting her down constantly. I was so frustrated with Ian for treating her that way.
This book is the perfect read for a casual afternoon. It has some dram and funny moments too!! The ending was lovely and wrapped up the story just right!!!
If you’re just going by the cover this one may surprise you. There’s an elementary school principal that has just left the inner city Chicago Public Schools system for a high priced private school with more money than they know what to do with. Add in a very successful venture capitalist alum from that private school who donates tons of money every year to said school and you’ve got a pretty interesting story. It’s still a cute, super light story, but interesting nonetheless.
So, both of the principal players (see what I did there?) are 40 and fiercely independent. They intend to remain that way, they like their lives exactly the way they are. As independent adults, they decide to hook up after one of the fundraising auctions held for Glenfield Academy. That’s when the fun, or trouble, starts. There is a major malfunction.
The rest of the story reveals a whole lotta baggage that each character is lugging around and that they may not be quite as independent by choice as they think they are. It’s fun, quick, and a good summer read.
Unique! Loved it!
This is a little different romance novel. I like it very much.
I felt the story could have been told with more depth and connections to the H/h. Each character was just okay, and I did not get their connections. They seemed to say how they could live on their own, they didn’t need a partner and that’s how the story read. It felt like each was just means to an end, I did not feel the chemistry.
It was OK.
Really enjoyed the characters.
Very funny! I suggested my pregnant daughter-in-law should read it!
Loved
Different twists in non original storyline I really enjoyed this book
A very simple romance story. OK Fluff.
I read this book on vacation looking for something light and fun. It was perfect to fill the jet lag induced up in the middle of the night time.
Awesome. Funny real!!!
I really enjoyed this book. Very cute.
Don’t be fooled by the title. Very well written. Good read!!
A new twist on Cinderella! Erin doesn’t lose her shoe at midnight but she does lose her new plan for her life…and gains a baby!
Julie Hammerle’s Knocked Up Cinderella is a fresh new take on the one night stand that doesn’t go quiet as planned. Two 40 year old professionals find themselves pregnant and unwilling to trust each other or themselves when it comes to love. Hammerle’s writing style is fast-paced and snappy but she isn’t afraid to confront the realities of dating and love past your mid-30s in a realistic way; fear of not being enough, fear of changing your way of life, fear of commitment, and having to navigate the advice of your people. It was so refreshing to read about a couple in their 40s who still saw themselves and each other as young and attractive, as opposed to being the “old married couple” or the “cautionary tale of the playboy or spinster.” I’m very excited to read more by Hammerle and the new August imprint from Entangled!
I gave this Book a rating of 4 ’s

>-< >–< >–< >–< >–<>–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< What I liked/Didn’t Like: One of the major things I loved about this romance was that both of the main leads are pushing 40 years old. I loved it. The authors writing was fun and easy to read and moderately paced. The characters interacted well. Overall a great book
I know I might be in the minority here but I honestly expected to enjoy this book more than I did. The storyline was good and the characters were okay but the story moved at such a slow pace. The story seemed to drag a lot. If the pace was just a little bit faster, this book would have been much better for me. There were funny moments, steamy moments and a little drama between Erin and Ian. Erin has struggled for years with her now ex Dirk to get pregnant but who thought a night with Ian would give her what she wanted. Too bad that Ian is not the relationship type of man, or is he? Ian’s mom left him at a young age so will he be able to walk away from this child? This story wasn’t a fantastic read for me but it was an okay read with a sweet ending.

Get ready to laugh your butt off with Knocked-Up Cinderella, a chic-lit-ish contemporary romance.
Erin is 40, recently single and killing it as the new principal at a private elementary school. She loves what she does, but now it also includes schmoozing and fund-raising and that’s how she finds herself dressed as Cinderella and ready to be auctioned off for a date.
Ian is a workaholic. He only has time for work, work and his two best friends who also happen to be his business partners. Against his better judgement, he finds himself being charmed by Erin’s quirkiness, uniqueness and sense of humor. But after one hot as eff (and mostly fade to black) hook up later… well, things are going to get messy.
Erin was great. She dressed as an 80’s pop diva forever stuck in a music video and totally owned it. She was smart and funny, caring and sweet and I just loved her. Ian was charming and sexy, and when he wasn’t actively thinking about his issues he was the best. If it wasn’t because he manages to knock-up Erin from the get-go, I’d wonder if he really had balls. Man, could that guy second-guess himself! Fortunately, he eventually does manage to find his testicles while removing his head from his posterior, which made me deliriously happy.
I really enjoyed this story, it was funny and fresh and even though I wanted to slap some sense into Ian more than once I loved him and Erin as a couple. I smiled and laughed, and although there’s no sexplicity, their chemistry was amazing and they have some really steamy and downright hot scenes.
Knocked-Up Cinderella was a super fun read and I wouldn’t mind getting acquainted with more of this new to me author’s work at all.

When Ian Donovan, a bad boy, venture capitalist millionaire comes to her rescue, Erin Sharpe is more than thrilled to have a night on the town with the man who saved her from a creep at an auction. After an enjoyable night of dinner and dancing the pair decide to continue their night of fun back at her place. Which leads to some between the sheets fun… and a few weeks later an unexpected positive pregnancy stick. Both agreed the night they met that they weren’t looking for forever, but when faced with this unexpected news they both begin to reconsider their stance on it.
Knocked-Up Cinderella was charming little fairy tale that brought many smiles, and feel good vibes. This was an evenly paced, heartfelt contemporary romance, that came with a modern day fairy tale twist, and I really enjoyed spending my afternoon devouring it! If you like humorous, light-hearted reads, then this one will be right up your alley… it comes with loads of laughs and heart!
