Who doesn’t love a single dad story?? Nikki Ash has once again knocked this story out of the park! Ava and Griffin are the cutest most lovable couple! Let’s not forget Levi and Maverick the dog! With glimpses of some of her most beloved characters this book is a must read! A great quick day on the beach read!!
Griffin’s little boy Levi was just freakin adorable in his antics, “…then it hits me Levi was playing with my products. “Ugh! ”I groan. “Do you think Levi is scarred for life?” I ask as I picture him running around his house pretending the vibrating dildos are swords.” Griffin sometimes has to slow his woman’s roll, “lifting up, I give his nipple a kiss and he groans. “No, don’t do that. We’ll never make it out of this bed if you do that,” he warns.” I really loved this book, I loved these characters.
This book is just another example of why Nikki Ash has become one of my favorite go to authors. Her writing makes it so easy to get lost in the story and really feel what the characters are feeling.
Griffin and his son meet Ava while they are moving into their new apartment and from that first moment, they both knew that they had met someone special. She makes him want more than a fly by night for the first time in what seems like forever.
Ava is no stranger to heartbreak and after several failed relationships she is determined to never let herself get hurt again. Everything is going good with her plan until her new neighbors move in and she can no longer keep her walls up firmly enough.
As much as they want to move forward, past insecurities they stand in their way. Will they be able to find their way to their HEA or will their past forever stand in their way?
Did I mention that I love this book? And Levi brings a ton of cuteness to the story making it that much better. I highly recommend that you check out this book and while your there, check out the rest of her books too!
Let’s Taco ’bout how awesome this book is!
I loved this single Dad romance! when Griffin a single dad moves into a new apartment he meets the sexy taco loving Ava. Ava has been hurt in the past, can she trust Griffin with her heart? Such a sweet, funny, and sexy read! There were parts where I was laughing so hard I was crying! This was my first Nikki Ash book, and I cannot wait to read more from her!
Griffen is a single dad to his son Levi. His son and making his bar a success is his life. That is until he meets his new neighbor Ava. Ava has been unlucky in love and has no desire to go down that road again. Will griffin convince Ava to give love another chance? I loved knocked down, especially the cameo of characters from the fighting series!
Every book I read of Nikki’s I’m like omg! This one I was laughing expecially talking about tacos I got hungry reading it even after eating lunch haha! You meet a hot single dad he moves in next to Ava she’s timid because she’s been burned so many times In relationships. But swoon worthy griffin is going to work his magic and win her heart! We also get appearances by some familiar characters that will make you smile! I loved this book! Can’t wait for the next book!
Interconnected standalones are my favorite type of books because of reappearances of beloved characters, and with some amazing, memorable characters, this author has quickly propelled herself to a top spot on my list of must-read authors, so I was glad to read an early copy of this book. Nikki Ash outdid herself with this one! I was laughing out loud through the entire book! And who knew Taco Tuesday was a universal thing that has infiltrated book world? I would kill to have Ava’s T-shirt collection, and eight-year-old Levi with the blue “swords” was just about the most hysterical scene ever!
Ava, Griffin and Levi first meet when Ava’s dog Maverick (yep, that’s a Top Gun reference) licks Levi to death in the hallway of their apartment building. At first glance, Griffin likes what he sees, but Ava has been burned twice by men so she’s adamant about not subjecting herself to that again. As they spend time together Ava comes to care a lot for both Griffin and Levi, but can she put aside her fear, or will she miss out on the possibility of a wonderful future with this amazing father and son?
This book made me laugh, made me blush, squeezed my heart and left me with a happy sigh and a great big smile at the end. I loved all these characters, but I’m pretty sure little Levi stole my heart, as well as the show. Of course the chemistry between Griffin and Ava was off the charts, but the heart and emotion, along with the sense of community, family and belonging were what really made this book phenomenal. Ava tearing down the walls of her heart and trusting Griffin was beautiful, and Griffin finding his missing piece in Ava was pure perfection.
A lot of authors add a child or pet to their books and it comes off as an honorable mention, but Ash got it just right. Levi wasn’t an afterthought or, a “Hmm, maybe I should toss a kid in here to appeal to readers.” He was an entertaining, realistic, adorably loveable, prominent main character whose addition infused life, laughter and a sweetness that took this book to the next level. Not to discount Ava and Griffin, but Levi, alone, makes this book worth reading, and I have no doubt you’ll love this delightful, hilarious, steamy, poignant happily ever after.

A fun, sexy read with tacos, an adorable puppy, a little boy, his lovable dad and the sex toy selling beauty next door. Ava needs to let go of her past and learn to trust again, that all men are not the same. Griffin, the lovable single father has no problems sharing his son with Ava and her dig, he is ready for more, but how much convincing will the beautiful Ava need? Read this light, easy read for some taco time and an introduction to all things sex toy and how they can be just as fun to use with a partner.
I received an Arc of Knocked Down and have willingly given the review it deserves
4 1/2 Star book that should definitely not be missed. Such a fun, quick book that will have you have laughing out loud. What I loved about this book is how Nikki Ash was able to take a complete standalone book but intertwine it with two series. No one does single parent romance like Nikki Ash. The kids in her books always steal the show and Levi is no exception, such an awesome kid. I simply adored Griffin and Ava’s story.
Another amazing book by Nikki Ash! Griffin and Ava’s story is everything!! Nikki Ash pulled at my heart strings with both Ava and Griffin. They both have traumas from their pasts that keep them from moving on with their lives. Levi will totally win your heart over with his no filter innocence.
From the beginning you can’t help but get attached to these characters as the story pulls you in. I definitely had my laugh my ass off moments…
“Oh my god. Oh. My. God. Oh my frigging god! Levi opened my box! Griffin saw what was in it! And judging by his brother’s laughter and the pained look on his wife’s face, they saw what’s in the box as well. Oh…and Levi thinks they’re swords! Ay dios mio!”
But Knocked Down also made me cry my eyeballs out. And you can’t leave off the steamy chemistry between these two that will have you squirming in your seat. Hot! Above all Griffin will make you swoon with his determined to sweep you off your feet attitude.
“There’s no doubt about it. We fit. Our bodies…our lives. It all fucking fits so goddamned perfectly.”
Ava was the perfect heroine for not only Griffin but also Levi. The love she has for both of them outshines her trust issues and broken past. But will it be enough to break down all her walls?
Knocked Down is a complete standalone and amazingly written in dual POV. Nikki is totally winning with her great HEAs and even better epilogue. You do get cameos from characters from the Fighting and Fighting Love series tying it all together in a Nikki Ash way. A must read to add to your TBR, especially if you want to find out about Ava’s box!
Single dad books are one of my favorites and Knocked Down was so good! I loved Griffin, he was sexy, swoony and sweet! Ava, I loved her alot. Her taco obsession and t-shirts were awesome! Levi was adorable, so sweet! Griffin and Ava had amazing chemistry from the beginning. They were great together! Definitely recommend this book!
I love Nikki and all of her books, I’ve read so far! Each one keeps getting better and better. From the characters, to the drama and everything in between you get a sense of this throughout her books. The emotions, the feelings, the angst, the suspense…. You feel everything and anything in that particular moment.
Griffin and Ava’s story was so cute! I loved how Griffin took responsibility of his life and his sons and didn’t try to make excuses. If he wanted something he would get it or work towards it. Ava was a little spitfire who had me laughing my behind off and also hating her stubborn ways, because of her insecurities. The sexual tension and chemistry was off the charts and I really didn’t want it to end. Now I’m hoping Sean and Prim get a story.
I loved this book, of course would recommend it and the “taco” references had me dying, dying, dead! lol
What a great read! I really enjoyed Knocked Down! It is a standalone romance, told in duel POV’s. It just made me feel good! It had so many ‘feels’! It was fun and flirty too!
Griffin King is a single dad to 8 year old Levi and a restaurant owner. He is a great dad and works hard. His brother Sean and his wife Lilly play a big part in his life. The success of his restaurant allows Griffin and Levi to move into a nicer apartment. He meets the very sexy Ava Milano on his first day there when her dog ‘Maverick’ runs down Levi.
Griffin is a busy restaurant owner and single dad. Ava works from home as a graphic and web designer. She creates and designs book covers and web sites. The attraction between Griffin and Ava is immediate. Their chemistry is hot! There is quite a bit of sexy time too! Griffin is such a great guy. Caring and respectful. Ava is an amazing independent woman. She is so sweet and loving. Her love of tacos is hilarious! She has a major issue with commitment because she has been cheated on twice.
There was so much to love about this book. The relationship between Ava and Levi is wonderful. They have great times together. There is so much humor and light heartedness in the story. Ava wears these t-shirts with funny sayings on them. These were my top favorites:
“If you can read this shirt, I was forced to put my book down and re-enter society.”
“You can’t make everyone happy, you’re not a taco.”
“Run like there’s a taco at the finish line.”
The story was a bit predictable but, who cares! I enjoyed it! It was fun, romantic and had only a touch of drama. The writing was good. I loved how Nikki Ash incorporated her love of books into the story! There are two other series by Nikki Ash; The Fighting Series and Fighting Love Series that I believe some of the secondary characters come from. I am definitely adding those to my TBR!
4 stars
4 “Tacos” Stars
Knocked Down was a light and rather short read that I was sucked in right away! Griffin and Ava’s relationship was so sweet, hilarious and sexy. I loved these two so much! They are new neighbors and have a meet cute, involving a collision between her dog and his son Levi. From there starts a friendship with underlying attraction that turns into so much more.
Ava loves to speak her mind and is obsessed with tacos. That tiny Latina woman is a riot and I laughed so much at her antics. Under all this bubbly and carefree attitude though, she hides a fear of commitment. Griffin is a very laid-back guy only trying to provide a good life for his son. They’re so opposites, but maybe that’s why they just click together. The flirty banter between this couple is never-ending. Sparks are flying in their every interaction and eventually lead to some steamy scenes. As much as I enjoyed this pair, the bonding between Ava and Levi was also truly adorable. The way the boy easily grew attached to Ava was sweet and endearing!
I was glad when I realized that this story involves cameo appearances from characters of the Fighting Series. I adore this world and all these little instants had me really happy even if the connection was somewhat very small.
Nikki Ash is a go-to author of mine for these stories where you know you’ll get a good dose of humor, emotion and sensuality. Knocked Down is exactly that and was a very pleasant read for me!
This was a short, sweet and cute book. I enjoyed enough but I didn’t fully connect with any of the characters. For how short it was I felt like there was too much attention on Griffin’s brother and sister-in-law. But it was cute and fun. Loved all the fun t-shirts and how they played into the story.
This is my first book ive read by this author and it made me instantly fall in love with her writing. I love her style of writing though I feel she needs to include a coupone for chocolate with her books because she is that good.
Knocked Down will give you all the feels because this single dad story is sexy, flirty and tension filled. It will definitely keep you on your toes. Griffin and Ava have this electric pull and they can’t help but fall even with the walls in place. You want them to have a HEA as much for themselves, but for Levi too. Let me tell you, everyone needs a sweet little boy like Levi in their life. You need to read this book for tacos, the swords, and the t-shirt surprises alone. Not to mention if I was Ava, I would never be able to look at a barstool the same way again. Knocked down is one of my absolute favorite tropes and stories while Nikki Ash has become a definite automatic one-click author for me!
Tracey, Life Reads With Friends
This was a great single dad romance.
I enjoyed reading about Griffin and Ava. Throw in sweet Levi and it made for a great read.
Griffin is a single dad who doesn’t let women into his son’s life. Ava has had a bad run of men that she dated.
Levi starts hanging out with his new neighbor Ava and her dog. Griffin can’t say no to his son. The relationship between the three of them blooms.
This was a great read. I enjoyed the other characters as well.

I loved this book its just what I needed to read today, such an easy, funny read!
Ava and Griffin have an instant attraction and great chemistry but the big question is can Ava trust him? She sent have the best track record when it comes to trusting men.
Levi and maverick are great characters too it makes your heart melt, the live that Levi has for maverick
I’m a huge sucker for single dads. This one was really cute. Griffin is improving his life with his bar an Ava is a web designer/book cover artist. Ava loves Taco Tuesday’s and she has the best taco shirts. A lot of great moments include these awesome shirts. I’m new to this author and I will for sure check out her other books.
