This is an absolutely amazing, intense and emotional book by this author. I could not put down until the end. Griffin is a single dad to an adorable boy Levi. Ava is their neighbor and works from home. When they meet the are instantly drawn to one another and has an intense connection. She has been hurt in her past and has walls built up like crazy but Griffin is determined to knock them down and make her his. My heart went out for these two and their family. This is highly addicting and you’ll love every second of it for sure.
This book was my first read by this author and let me just say, it definitely won’t be my last. Holy moly, I went from laughing to crying. Well written and great storyline. Griffin is an awesome single dad who’s just trying to do the best for his son. Everything is finally looking up for them. Ava is a woman who has been wronged by guys who don’t deserve her. Neither are looking for love. When Griffin moves next door and they start spending time together, it’s only a matter of time until neither can fight how they feel for each other. Griffin and Ava are all great together. I think they make the perfect family. #AFamilyWhoEatsTacosTogetherStaysTogether. I cannot wait to read more of Nikki’s work. This is a definite must read and I highly recommend
I absolutely love Knocked Down. Ava is hillarious as long as you don’t mess with her tacos. Griffin is down to earth and knows what he wants. Griffin and Ava meet when her dog knocks down Levi, Griffins son, and begins to lick his face. Ava is resistant to any kind of relationship, especially one with Griffin. Griffin is Abel to show Ava that he is not like the other guys she has dated.
Nikki Ash out did herself with this book. I was laughing and crying at the same time. The book left me wanting tacos. And let me say I will never eat a taco the same way again in a good way. Can’t wait to see what Nikki’s ash comes out with next.
I like reading books by Nikki Ash because I know she doesn’t write cookie cutter characters. All of her characters have histories that contributed to the people they are today, and I love seeing what sort of a backstory each new character she introduces has. Ava is a strong women whose previous two relationships (the only real relationships she’s had) ended badly leaving her jaded and distrusting of men. Griffin, on the other hand, had taken the lemons life had given him and was finally enjoying some lemonade. He was the optimist of the story, seeing all the possible outcomes and believing for the best. Their different ways of looking at life and love provided conflict to the story.
I really liked how Ava’s dog and Griffin’s son Levi were used to initiate their introduction and eventual relationship and how quickly their lives became intertwined because of Levi. I loved Levi as a character. He personified the mix of exasperating and sweet that 8-year-olds frequently show and added a new depth to the relationship Griffin and Ava built. I also really enjoyed meeting Griffin’s brother Sean and his wife Lilly, and I was touched by the close relationship between Griffin and Lilly. Finally, the way Nikki Ash weaves her secondary characters into the story allows us to revisit some of our old favorites without loosing focus on the new ones.
Now excuse me while I go get some tacos.
I am so in love with this book!!! *swoon* Griffin the hot sweet, rough around the edges, protective total macho guy meets this Sweet, sassy, keep you on your toes neighbor Ava. The chemistry was amazing between them. The story was so well Written you never wanted it to end. I love how Ava was the perfect friend turned stepmom to in the end real mom. This book leads up to an amazing HEA you don’t want to miss. BTW i have a new found love for TACOs!
Griffin and Ava’s story pulls you in from the very beginning.
Who knew that Griffin and Levi’s new start would literally knock them down to a taco-loving-obsessed adventure. The chemistry between Griffin and Ava is instant and swoon-worthy. Ay Dios Mio!!!! The steamy scenes between those two…..CALIENTE!!
Once you start reading Knocked Down you won’t be able to put it down. Definitely a must read!
One of my top favorite books so far this yr! Loved Griffin and Ava’s story from the beginning to the very last page. Throw in an adorable little boy and a cute dog and you got yourself a sweet and sexy rom-com! Highly recommend!!!
Taco-about awesome, lets taco ’bout how great this story is!
Griffin is finally at a place in his life where things are looking great. He and his son, Levi are moving into a new apartment that just happens to be next to Ava. Ava does not have the best track record when it comes to relationships and is definitely not looking to start one. Can these two people who have been marked by their past relationships open up to the possibility of something more – with each other? I loved the personalities of both of these characters. I really feel we got to know them through their histories and actions. The story flowed beautifully and did not drag at all. The best part – and awesome epilogue that not only shows our characters, but also answers a question about a couple of secondary characters. Intrigued? Check out this wonderful story from Nikki Ash.
