INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR:
Q: Aside from the Soulmate Shifter Series, what other books do you write and what order should I read them in?
A: I have several other completed paranormal romance series. The Sanctuary, Texas series has an apocalyptic flavor and is set in a small Texas town. It’s a wild ride with lots of romance, adventure, and enough heartache to make you need a box of tissues several times.
- My Viking Vampire
- My Dragon Masters
- My Eternal Soldier
- Mastered:Teagan
- My Warrior Wolves
- My Guardian Gryphon
- My Vampire Knight
The VonBrandt Pack Series is another reader favorite! This series is set in a small town called Somewhere, TX. I actually have three series set in the world of Somewhere, two paranormals and a contemporary set with crossover characters.
- To Save A Mate
- To Love A Mate
- To Win A Mate
- To Find A Mate
- To Plan For A Mate
- To Chase A Mate
Then spin off into the Moonbound series that picks up where the VonBrandt’s leave off.
- The Werewolf Cowboy
- The Werewolf Bodyguard
- The Werewolf Ranger
- Chasing A Wolf
- Seducing A Wolf
- Saving A Wolf
- Broken Wolf
- Hunted Wolf

It took me a while to get into it. Partly because I didn’t understand how many genres it could fit into. Partly because I found the number of dragons, the names and relationships confusing since this was the first of this series I have read. In the end I enjoyed it and will probably read more.
DNF I couldn’t get into this book at all, it sounded like it might be cool but it bored me to sleep.
totally predictable and poorly written
It was a good book but hate cliff hangers
I was quickly pulled into this story from page one! This has a unique spin from other shifter romances I’ve read which engaged me from the start. Great characters, action, suspense, hot shifters and hotter sex scenes all make this a great read. While I admit I’d like a little fuller HEA, I hope some of that will flow through to the next shifter story in the series. I highly recommend this book and now off to purchase the next book in the series!
I Love anything to do with Dragons – thourouly enjoyed this one!
Way too much sex at first sight
Once I skimmed past page after page of sex at the beginning of Knock Down Dragon Out, I actually liked the story. The characters were engaging (when they weren’t having sex) and the story was better after I got through the first 30%. Krystal Shannan is a pretty good writer, she just needs to put more story into her books and less sex at first sight.
Content 411: This book contains numerous sexually explicit scenes, as well as vulgar language, including “f” bombs.
The world building was fun, especially I guess because I enjoy the “born yesterday” trope (adult, sexually mature characters but with an almost child-like innocence about them regarding mundane everyday things or relationships.)
The characters were likable despite not being as well developed as I wished. Some things are left unsaid or unresolved even after the end, but this book being the first in a series, I hope the next installments will continue the story where this book left off.
The plot was good enough to bring a large set of challenges for the characters to overcome, even if some were resolved (or brushed under the rug) a bit too fast for my liking.
My main problem with this book was with the steamy sex scenes. Yes, they were good. Yes, they were steamy enough in all the right places. But. They were also repetitive – same moves in almost always the same order with the only change being the location. Which leads to a lack of build-up within those scenes: no matter where the characters are emotionally in their relationship (getting to know each other, falling for each other, admitting their mutual feelings to each other, etc) it is never reflected in the sex scenes. They start with a bang and stay at the same level throughtout the story. Then (I never thought I’d say that one day!) there was so many of those scenes that it sometimes felt like half the book was about the MCs in bed together. And the bedroom scenes were not always well placed within the plot, sometimes disrupting the flow of the story (the characters would start a much-needed conversation about a relevant issue they face, and in the middle of it, they’ll stop talking, have sex, then drop the issue either for much later or alltogether. I get it that it’s a plot device allowing authors to delay the resolution until it’s convenient for them, but when used more than once, it becomes annoying to read.
I’ll read the next book, though!
I haven’t read much from this author so didn’t really know what to expect. Then the start didn’t really grab me, but I kept reading & I’m so glad that I did. I ended up enjoying it immensely! The characters were interesting, the premise different. I loved the interaction between Col & Naomi, then between the others from Col’s world. I also really loved the new family being built with Col & Naomi at the centre.
An amazing world-building story. The not of our world characters are perfectly written in their new surroundings. I love that we have different types of shifters, both good and bad. The first interaction between human and the others could have lead to death, but instead, it shows that fate can intervene no matter where your from. The story brings two races together that leads to an amazing change, and that doesn’t include the sensual, mind-blowing sex and love. The other shifters come along at the right time and become on earth what they never were on their home, “friends”. Not just friends, but so much more, family. I can’t wait to read their stories and what they learn and find on this new world called earth.
