Great story. I love the Halloween theme of this book. I also enjoy how the murder is boom right away, going right into the mystery. Gets right to the point. This older but not old group of knitters make the whole book even more fun. Can’t wait to read more!
When Little Bo Peep is found dead on Halloween, Pamela and her best friend Bettina enlist the help of fellow knitter Nell to find the killer. As the bodies are piling up, can Pamela figure out what happened before it’s too late?
To be honest, I’m starting to get a little annoyed by Pamela. If she wanted to date Richard, she should have let him know. She can’t be all upset now that he’s moved on. It seems a little overdramatic. I did enjoy that Nell was involved in solving this mystery. It was nice to get to know her a little bit more. I will say I think I’ve decided on Roland being my favorite of all the knitters. I am enjoying the writing and the characters and I will be continuing with the series.
Basic story good but too much detail about the main characters breakfast prep and dish use – over-used in almost every chapter – repetitive.
The main character eats using her wedding china. Three times a day! It has a rose garland pattern. A lot of space filling, unnecessary text. Like when that 10,000 word essay just won’t add up.
Entertaining
I enjoyed reading this cozy mystery. I characters are fun, the setting is cozy, and the mystery was interesting. This is a great book to read for Halloween. The mystery is full of twists and turns and no shortage of suspects. I can’t wait to read more of this series.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way have I been influenced by anyone.
I’m all thumbs when it comes to knitting but reading this series makes me think that being friends with the Knot and Nibblers might change that. Bet they could teach me to at least knit a pretty scarf. This, the sixth book in the series, brings us to Halloween in the town of Arborville, NJ. Mistaken identity presents the first murder victim and the Knitters realize that they might be able to warn the intended victim. Unfortunately their warning fails and the murderer strikes again. Mary, the second victim, wasn’t all that well liked and Pamela and Bettina, along with the rest of the Knit and Nibble Club, set out to track down the killer.
This entry works well as a stand alone but be prepared to play catch up with the series. Between the knitting theme and the great food it makes for a winning combination. The mystery is well crafted, the main characters are people I’d enjoy spending time with and I’m looking forward to reading more in the series.
My thanks to the publisher Kensington and to NetGalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

It’s a Halloween costume celebration in the town but Bo Peep winds up murdered. Not the woman who posted on her blog that she would be so costumed, but another one entirely. Distressing, but the first one winds up murdered several days later! Thus, the four friends of the knitting club feel obliged to sleuth because it is clear that the local police don’t comprehend certain things and don’t seem interested in their value. Good plot, relatable and lively characters, and everyone using their wedding china for everyday meals. While I like the earlier books in the series, it is not necessary to have read them first in order to enjoy this one.
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!
