Oooooh…. I loved this book! It had everything a RH fantasy book should have. Grouchy alpha hotties and a fabulous woman with lots of secrets. I’m pretty sure that steam came out my ears at certain scenes. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Ann Denton wrote my favorite Silver Springs book. I really loved Ruby, the innocent and slightly naive angel on a quest to make people happy. After finishing that book I really wanted to read more written by Ann Denton, but for some reason loads of other books begged for my attention first. However, for my Alphabet reading challenge I really needed a book with a K and it was the perfect excuse to finally start this series!
Even though the book is bigger than average I really flew through it and that’s mostly because Denton’s writing style flows so nicely and is just so easy to read, without it becoming simple. On top of that I really like the white line between each paragraph. It took me some getting used to at first, but my eyes are really happy with those visible resting places in between my racing. The plan was to spend two days on reading the book, I eventually only had to read the last few chapters this morning.
That’s also because I really loved the world and the plot. Of course, at first it was a little vague and I had really no clue where the story was going, but I just enjoyed the ride and when more and more politics entered the plot I was more and more invested. I can’t wait to explore the rest of the world and meet loads more interesting and layered characters in future books. So much awesomeness was already written down in this first one.
I also really liked the characters. I have to admit that I don’t feel like we really know the guys that well by now, but I don’t doubt that we’re gonna see more of them in the future books and that we’ll get to know them better and better. It’s quite clear that they’re all very different and unique, with their own personality. Just like our princess. I loved how selfless she was. How she dared to have emotions, while also being brave. She knew how to take care of herself and when to rely on others.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
fabulous beginning of this series … Bloss has an interesting power that she’s running from, until she hears of the threats against her sister … reluctantly, Bloss returns to the life of a princess to save her sister and accept the life the Queen has been setting up for Bloss’s return, including four husbands … but when a dragon appears Bloss must assume her rightful position in the kingdom
fun fantasy RH with plenty of humor and heat.
Loved this book so much!
1. Look at the thiccness of this read. /salivating
2. Another exceptional heroine. I love it even more when other people are undermining her, esp since she can single-handedly prove them wrong against all their misconceptions about her (and yes I am talking about her heroes). Then she goes and humbles herself when she accepts her flaws AND pushes herself to right her own wrong doings. I mean, one can become badass and be smart at the same time. Last but def not the least, I have had the most fun reading her POVs. The unique humor game from this one is STRONG.
3. Just the overall writing style of the author. I’m not usually into medieval settings but honestly lately I am finding a couple more that captured me so easily…this one I practically one-clicked even though I’m not familiar with the author. Obviously, best risk I have ever taken (real adventurer, this girlie lol).
Yeah, it does end in a cliffie, but with that said, still doesn’t take away the fact that THIS READ IS STILL SO FREAKING AMAZING.
Fantasy. Rh. 4 guys. Magic users. Princess Bloss ran away before she could be crowned. Leaving behind four husbands. When hearing a plot of killing her sister, Bloss gives herself up to protect Ava. A very unique tale. Their magic need to have balance. Like being a mind reader/talker means you have to be mute. Love the concept. Love the plot and the twists.
