Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams. Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn’t want to be and she meets Knight.Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to … did not expect to be having to borrow his phone.
Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves of white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays – good, normal and clean. But when Anya comes to his nightclub and finds herself in a situation, he knows someone has to look after her, he can’t fight it anymore and he decides that man will be him.
Knight teaches Anya that, just as with the bad, in life you should also expect the good. And he teaches her this by giving it to her.
But Knight has a dark past and just as he desires Anya for exactly who she is, he fears when she finds out exactly the man he has become and always intends to be, she’ll leave him for good, normal and clean.

2nd Read: I think my feelings are the same this second time around. This could have been a 5 star favorite if it wasn’t for Knight’s complete unbending attitude towards Anya. He mentions several times she was the kind of woman men bend over backwards for and yet he wouldn’t bend. I struggled with that. What I didn’t struggle with is how much he wanted to spoil her and protect her. That’s the part that I really loved.
1st Read: Knight is my first book by Kristen Ashley and I get what all the hype is about now. I’ve had so many people tell me I need to read her books, it’s crazy. I’m a huge fan of strong alpha Hero’s and Knight is definitely that.
The only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is that while I loved that Knight was THAT alpha, his expectation of Anya to completely bend to his will 100% if she wanted to be with him felt wrong in some instances. Yes, I love the controlling, dominant men but I also want them to love their woman enough to want to give on the small issues that really shouldn’t be issues. They’re small and don’t matter in the scheme of things, so if you love your woman, do it for her.
That’s my only complaint. I loved everything else about this book. I listened to the audio and loved the narrator. She did a really good job. I’m never a big fan of woman impersonating men’s voices so I do wish they would have a man and woman do the narration but it’s a small issue.
Heading to a party with friends that she didn’t want to go to, Anya finds her phone dead and heads to use a phone, that’s where she meets Knight, who is tall dark and bossy and insists on talking her home making sure she’s safe.
Knight loves control in his live always has the need to control everything around him, when he stumbles on Anya in his room, he’s pulled to her innocence and sweetness and knows he has to let her go, until she walks into his club wearing the dress, he knows that’s it and although he’s been looking after her from behind the scenes, he’s not going to any longer.
While Anya knows Knight has to have control and he’s jealous and possessive, she starts to learn everything he does is because he loves her including making her dreams come true. Anya always had a dream of a wedding with everything, Knight had beliefs which didn’t include marriage. Knight thought that Anya wanted to have a wedding with her friend planning one, so in his compromise she gets a ring and a party, but although Anya loved it, that wasn’t what she’d been worried about, she had a secret of her own and wasn’t sure Knight would handle it, would it end them or keep them together forever.
Anya and Knight are perfect for each other! Their subconscious know this right away, but it takes time for the brain and the heart to figure that out. The chemistry they have scorches off the pages and into your being. The sweetness between them washes over you and settles deep into your soul. The Alpha-ness of Knight and the yielding of Anya will cause shivers from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. This book, their story, it is one of the “wow” moments that you will always remember and have imprinted on your psyche. Loved it more than I say, and adored it with my whole self <3
I found this book by accident on the free online website back before it was full of advertisements, I read it repeatedly, and then it disappeared. I looked everywhere for it, but I never knew the author’s name. But I never forgot it. I finally found it again, and it was better than I even remembered. I am now on a reading spree to read everything this author wrote. Anya and Knight rocked my world, and I fell in love with them both.
Kristen Ashley can write the phone book and I’d read it.
Well this was one HECK of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey of a story and I LOVED every single heart breaking and heart mending second of it!
Anya has experienced so much but continues to be the sweet, charming, lovely woman she is. Knight has had his fair share of experiences and is brooding, alpha as all get out, always in control of everything, and a sucker for her sweet. And watching him demand it and her yield it, definitely did the trick for me, and required a glass of cold water at the ready constantly.
Knight is unapologetic in his attitude, his behavior, and his desire for her, and Anya has a core of steel, even as she bends and sways, and loves what he gives her.
An intense read but thoroughly worth it, and it definitely left me squirming in my seat with some of those steamy scenes! YUMMY.
I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series and soon because I need more of this world in my life!
4.5 Stars
This book was absolutely amazing!! It was so hot that I thought my kindle was going to melt. And I personally need a Knight!! My only complaint is it needed to be longer. I loved all of it but that, like I felt it just needed a little more. But it was still an amazing book and I highly recommend it!!! – By Tina
Wow, wow, wow!! I loved this book! I love all of KA’s books, but still, I’m happy to say that she can do…no…wrong! Geez. I just finished Knight and I’m ready to read it again!!
Summary:
Anya Gage works hard. She believes nothing good in life comes without working for it. Her parents were murdered at age 7 and since, her life has not been roses in any sense. Her aunt was neglectful and mean, not to mention she spent all the money her parents would have left behind while treating Anya like a slave. She works more than full time and attends school to make her life great. She doesn’t dream. Dreams are what you make of them, or so she believes until she meets Knight Sebring. Knight is tall, dark, and handsome, but mysterious, too. When he enters a room, you know he’s in control and he is who he is. A chance encounter due to a faulty cell phone has Knight and Anya meeting for the first time. Knight is intense, but very sweet in helping Anya out of a jam. He walks out of her life twice in order to give Anya a fighting chance to have what every little girl dreams of: a husband, some kids, a white picket fence, etc. Before long Knight can’t keep his need to possess all that is Anya from taking hold of him and taking action, including “teaching his own brother a lesson.” Anya is often scared and wary of Knight, but nothing can overshadow how he makes her feel and the way he treats her. He goes out of his way to make her feel beautiful and make her feel safe. He likes her just for her. Despite his need to control, in the bedroom and sometimes out, she likes Knight for himself as well. The only blight on their relationship is Knight’s secrecy. It isn’t blatant, and he does share if asked a direct question, but Anya knows he is holding back and waiting for the right time. Knight’s secrets are serious, and have caused troubles in his relations with women before, therefore, he is hesitant to share. When a setup by Knights brother reveals his potentially damaging secrets, Anya must take the advice of her best friend, Vivica, and “hold the f***on” while confronting Knight for an explanation. His answer could destroy them forever or free them of the obstacles in their relationship, so they can lead a happy life together.
I didn’t know really what to expect from a series about unfinished heroes. I love all of KA’s previous heroes, so I was pretty sure I’d love Knight, but I was aware that this hero could possibly be into questionable activities that I don’t personally agree with. I’m happy to report that Knight’s explanation totally moved me, and I got it. It was beautiful. Maybe not to everyone, but to me, I understood what he wanted to accomplish. That made me love him even more! The sex scenes were fantastic! Overall, a great read. Like I said, want to read it again. Lol. <3
P.S. Just a side note...I think this would be a perfect series to put Marcus and Daisy's story in. 😉
Audible edit: I loved this book when I read it the first time, except the daddy thing. But this narrator made the entire book so freaking sexy, even that! I am in love!
Like just about anything by Kristen Ashley, and this was no exception. I liked Knight and I liked Anya, and they were explosive together. Awesomesauce! However, while I usually don’t harp about someone’s sexual interests, I did find the Daddy thing a turn off. But got passed it. Otherwise, nice – if short – read.
The unfinished heroes series is phenomenal. Knight is an outstanding kick-off to the series
Read: 6/23/19
Knight was the first book in the Unfinished Heroes series by Kristen Ashley. This was my first book by the author.
Knight Sebring was gorgeous, dark, a successful club owner and very domineering. He was fierce and controlled everything within his ability. Anya Gage was a gorgeous, hard working student. She paved her own way and was a bright spot in a dark world.
I loved this story. It was well written and well developed with a single POV, Anya. Knight was incredibly dark and mysterious but I immediately loved him. Ashley took us through the initial and subsequent random meetings, then the unraveling of the layers within Knight. Anya was pretty much an open book but Knight was private and complex. There was also mild BDSM mixed in – I’m not a fan of the “daddy/baby” theme, but it wasn’t the focal point, so I could easily ignore the verbiage. Additionally, there wasn’t drama per se but there was enough activity to stay intrigued and keep the pages turning.
In the end, it was a fast and enjoyable read. I’m still craving more of their story and hopeful for cameos as the series progresses.
This is my comfort read. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve read and listened to this book on Audible. The best part is these aren’t you’re typical characters. You have to learn to love them and see past their flaws to their true souls.
Loved it. A very sweet women who really has no idea how beautiful she is. A very powerful man who shows her how beautiful she really is!!!
Once you read one you will read the entire series. Very sexy and steamy books.
5 attempts and one year later…I finally finished this freaking book!
Knight’s kind of relationship was not my cup of tea by any stretch of my odd imagination, but I could understand why he and Anya worked so well together. In a weird way, they made each other a little better and a little stronger. Granted, I only concluded that once I stripped the sex talk away, but…eh. Besides, what works for one couple may not work for another and who am I to judge? Differences are what make everyone unique. If something works for you, go for it. If it doesn’t, step out of the box society insists on putting everyone in and figure out what does.
Love the whole series
This book was a darker book for Kristen….I loved it! I’d take Knight any day of the week!
4,5 star
2nd read = 2018 (5 star)
1st read = 2013 (4 star)
When I first read this book, I hadn’t read a lot of ‘dark’ stories. This was one of the first that I read and I thought that it was on the ‘dark’ side. But since then I have read a lot more dark (very dark) stories and now when I read ‘Knight’ for the second time I would call this book more of a light version of a dark story. But just like the first time, I enjoyed the story very much, maybe even more!
Anya is one of Kristen Ashley’s sweeter character but that doesn’t mean that I love her less. I love a KA’s character with a loss of sass but I love her sweeter heroines too . And Knight really needs a sweet and nice woman. Because he’s very controlling, possessive and dark.
Knight is a very hard character all dominant and alpha. I found the combination of him and Anya fascinating to read. They were perfect for each other. You had various side characters in this book too, good and bad.
The story is told from Anya’s POV. This book is a little darker (more dominant sex scenes) then the writer’s other books but I loved it.
Kristen Ashley does it again. It was a departure from the Colorado Mountain series. Knight is the anti hero, he is loyal, loves fiercely. Anya is everything Knight didn’t know he needed in his life. I loved Anya and Knight ( in his eyes it would not be a romantic story unfolding) it is. Loved this book, I have re read some many times whenever I am in a book slump.
KA never disappoints
