“What I really need is a sugar daddy.”
The mysterious woman laments from behind the steering wheel of the car in Grant Lawson’s parking lot.
She’s obviously been living in the cramped SUV and Grant wants to know her story. First, he has to make sure she doesn’t freeze to death in the parking lot of his upscale resort located between the South Dakota’s Black hills and the famous bad lands.
… bad lands.
Maybe he can help the dark haired beauty warm up in one of the resort’s lavish suites while he convinces her to warm up to him.
Cassidy would love nothing more than to take the handsome resort own up on his generous offer, but can she risk staying put long enough to ride out this storm?

Knee Deep in Sugar was great. Cassidy’s on the run and in possible danger when she unexpectedly meets Grant. He knows she has a story and wants to help her. A sweet and entertaining romance. The storyline was enjoyable and the characters were great.
ARC review For honest review . Grant owns the black hill ranch resorts where he find Cassidy living in her car in his ranch . Wow awesome story.
Hiding, non-trusting and on survival mode, Cassidy had to do things she wasn’t proud of. Out of choices and hopping from one place to another, she was noticed and for good. Grant was minding his business, but the intriguing woman caught his attention and soon… his heart. I was intrigued by the Cassidy mystery. Why was she on the road aimlessly? A strong, decided and not easy to intimidate woman that didn’t want to expose her vulnerability to a situation out of her control. Despite of her ‘sugar daddy’ comments, she wasn’t looking for one, she wanted to regain control of her life. I liked Grant’s character, his understanding of Cassidy’s situation and how he earned her trust and her love. Interesting and entertaining story with romance and some suspense.
I am really enjoying this series by Ms Ryder. In this one we meet Grant and Cassidy. Grant is owner and manager of a lodge in South Dakota and Cassidy is a woman trying to stay ahead of danger. Cassidy has been moving around and has been staying at the lodge while sleeping in her car at night. Grant spots her in the lobby and is taken by her from the beginning. The two meet and Grant offers her a warm place to stay while the storm outside promises to be a cold one. The two are attracted to one another from the beginning and soon Cassidy is explaining to Grant what she has been going through. This was a sweet and passionate read and I can not wait to read more in the series. Great HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This book was gripping, well written & the chemistry between the characters, Grant & Cassidy, sizzled throughout this wonderful read.
Well done Rocklyn. I look forward to more!
Best book in the series so far! Cassidy is on the run from a stalker and ends up in the resort parking lot at the beginning of a severe snowstorm and dropping temperatures. She is out of money and has been sleeping in her car. Grant, owner of the resort, rescues her and becomes involved in her drama. There is some suspense, love and steamy stuff. Nicely written and is interesting straight reading.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Cassidy acted like Grant was imposing on her, rather than the other way around. She had a lot of guts “using ” the lodge like she’s entitled to it. I don’t like people taking or using anything that doesn’t belong to them. That’s stealing. Cass seemed to be looking for a “pay day” from the start with her sugar daddy talk! She had my hackles up from the start! Gold digger!! By the end of the story, Cass was tolerable , but I’m still not happy with all her lies and cover ups to someone who put himself on the line for her. Smh!! I wished Cass had integrity. Disappointed in Cass.
This was a great little story! Nestled in a mountain retreat, these two have one romantic story while enduring a storm from Mother Nature and one following Cassidy. Cassidy joked that she needed a sugar daddy, but she got so much more with Grant!
3 1/2*
Cassidy is hiding/running from a stalker when Grant discovers her in the hotel’s carpark.
Grant is intrigued by the woman in the lobby and even more so watching her head to her car.
Grant’s hoping she will trust him enough to share her story.
A quick read
