I read this cute short story in a couple of hours AND I’m a sucker for second chances! If you can’t tell from the title, there’s a bakery involved, and I was drooling, thinking of all those goodies! Awesome characters and the value of family! A great addition to my December Christmas Themed reading!
Now I’m diving into Fancy’s Christmas Wish, also by Author Jaime Russell
I bought both Kneading Love and Fancy’s Christmas Wish directly from the author at LOCKED UP IN OHIO at Mansfield, Ohio on November 20, 2021
Ty and Luce meet again after five years and they try to recover what they lost. Some parts of the book are difficult to believe, for example, the great amount of time Luce stays in the bakery working almost alone.
The story is nice, but it could have been much better.
Ty is a nurse who didn’t understand her wife and her need to go to help her family five years ago.
Luce abandoned her husband five years ago when her grandma was ill and her family needed her.
She is all the time baking and with an impossible timetable; no time to eat, no time to sleep, and no time to stay with her children. There are too many secrets for my liking. I don’t like Liam; I think he is very selfish leaving her sister alone in the middle of a massive baking season.
And the relationship between Ty and Luce after 5 years separates is like nothing has happened. They behave like a couple of teenagers instead of adults.
I did like how Ty helps Luce in the bakery.
Lucy knows what she has to do. Leaving Tyler is the last thing she ever thought she’d ever do but he is a rising star right now and if she stayed, he would refocus on her and lose track of his goals. Heading home to Mistletoe Alaska to help her family needs to be her top priority right now. That and raising the baby she just learned she is carrying.
Tyler can’t believe he let his wife leave. Talking to his father over these past 5 or so years has just reiterated what an idiot he was. He heads back home to Mistletoe Alaska to get himself resettled and then he makes a move to get his wife back. What he doesn’t count on are the 2 little boys that call him Dad.
Lucy and Tyler have a sweet, fast moving story, where they need to learn to love each other fully again, as well as create a new normal for their little family. The author weaves a lovely tale of priorities and how love gets affected by our choices and changes in life.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy without expectations. All opinions expressed are my own.
This a great second chance romance about Ty and Lucy. Ty has a lot of growing up to do before he can find his happy ending with Lucy. I also enjoy the brothers best friend aspect of this short story
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tyler Smith a nurse and Lucy a baker separated five years ago when he started putting work before her and not listening to what she wanted to do. They meet by accident and he wants a second chance but she has a secret that she has kept from him for all the years they where apart. I enjoyed this story. I want to read more in this series.
