When Naomi’s sisters are snatched up to be taken to be wives of the erratic Pharaoh, Akhenaten, she knows they won’t survive the palace, so she offers herself in their place. The fearsome Commander Horemheb sees her courage, and knows she is exactly what he is looking for…
The Great Queen Nefertiti despises Naomi instantly, and strips her of her Hebrew lineage, including her name, which is … which is changed to Kiya. Kiya allies herself with Horemheb, who pushes her to greatness and encourages her to make the Pharaoh fall in love with her. When Akhenaten declares Kiya will be the mother of his heir, Nefertiti, furious with jealousy, schemes to destroy Kiya.
Kiya must play the deadly game carefully. She is in a silent battle of wills, and a struggle for who will one day inherit the crown. If she does bear an heir, she knows she will need to fight to protect him, as well as herself, from Nefertiti who is out for blood.
Praise for KIYA:
“I absolutely recommend this story. If you want a good read with the mix of history, love, Egypt and a smart heroine, this story is for you.” ~Goodreads Review by AnaPIN

A fictional historical novel with great characters, great historical fact and fiction, superb story line and a happy ending. I luved it. You also need to read the next two books in this series.
I mostly listened to the Audible version which helped add life to the sometimes awkward and deliberate prose. Though Kiya (Naomi) is the main character, the most compelling one is the Pharaoh, Tut’s father. Casting Kiya as being Jewish is a bold move as the true identity of Tut’s mother is still unknown (though DNA testing has confirmed which …
Loved it
Interesting to read 2 separate books on Ancient Egypt’s transformation from a polytheistic to a monotheistic world with such a diverse perspective. Interesting read. Kiya/Naomi had not only the strength of her faith but of love & demonstrated just how strong & powerful a “mere” woman can be when the need arises.
Couldn’t put it down
Could not put it down. The end had me at the edge of my seat.
This is a very interesting book about ancient Egypt and its royalty. The way they lived and the customs they practised are amazing.
At first I was reluctant to read this book because I thought it would be full of words and names that would be hard to read or pronounce. But i was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. My interest in Egyptian history spurred me on and I was soon involved in the story of Naomi the Hebrew woman who make the sacrifice of herself, out of love for her …
Excellent as the first in the three part series.
I enjoyed the entire series of these books!
Okay
Loved how Kiya’s life went full circle…
I enjoyed this story.
interesting take on the times of the pharaohs
Too many expressions that reflect modern times. Not believable
I really enjoyed this book. I bought the 2nd. I recommend this book.
Loved this so much I had to read all 3 in the trilogy. Very very informative …and such a GREAT book. Would recommend it to everyone that likes Historical. Could hardly put it down. I had to download from my Kindle to my computer at work so I could finish reading it. OK…it’s my business…so no boss over my shoulder…but had to keep …
Great historical significance in a culture unrelated to mine.
Really enjoyed reading this book. Can’t wait to read the other two left
I really became invested in the characters!
