SPIN THE WHEEL. DATE THE GUY.
Six years ago, Kitty Valentine took the book world by storm when her sweet debut romance hit number one on the New York Times Best Sellers list, which was followed by a string of successful releases. Her latest novel, however, totally bombs, causing her editor to suggest she write much sexier books. To Kitty, writing smut is the literary equivalent of stripping. But … stripping.
But with no advance coming in and her royalties dipping to an all-time low, Kitty has no choice.
Armed with a hot-guy spinning prize wheel, made by her best friend, listing all the different types of men she will date and then write about, Kitty will be spinning—not stripping—her way back onto the best-sellers list.

This book is full of so much love and adventures that it was pretty hard to not love it. This book absolutely just grabbed my attention from the very first page of the book. Actually this whole series has had my attention since I first started the first book in it. I absolutely recommend reading this book and this series.
Well this was a very different story compared to the others in the series!
Kitty gets to meet her teenage crush, Dustin Grant, who was the lead singer in the boy band she had plastered all over bedroom walls growing up. You know what it’s like, you imagine the life you could have together and scribble your names, entwined by love hearts. Practice what your signature will look like once you get married…
A few years have passed since then and when Kitty does come face to face with Dustin, after watching him perform in a bar, he is just as gorgeous as she remembered. His voice is just as smooth and they get on really well. In fact, he invites her to join him for a drink and bite to eat. Things are going well, they share a kiss she will never forget and then things don’t go so well. Dustin is used to girls giving him what he wants but he has met his match with Kitty Valentine because she is not just any girl.
‘His voice has lost the smoothness it used to have, before ten years passed and heaven knows what else. It’s got a lot of rasp to it now, like he’s either a smother or a drinker or both. But that just adds to its charm, that roughness. He used to be a little boy, but now, he’s a man who’s seen things, who’ experienced things.’
Kitty is disappointed to find out that her expectations of him fell short. I call that ‘anticappointment’ – when you’re anticipating something great but are left just feeling disappointed. However, all is not lost, he has her number and may call her right? Well it seems that Dustin was indeed intrigued by Kitty and they do see each other again. The tables get turned a bit and that made things very interesting.
‘I can almost fool myself into thinking he’s the kid he used to be – and heck, for all I know, he might be. Maybe he never matured past that point.’
I liked Dustin at the beginning of this story but towards the end not so much. I still love Blake and Jake and sexy neighbor Matt more so she definitely has options but let’s see what Mr Fireman brings to the table next…
Time for Kitty’s next adventure in dating? What will it be this time? Ahhh yes the well loved rockstar trope!
I absolutely am loving this series. It’s so different from what I usually read but with every new book I love Kitty even more. I did not like her rockstar though, although it did not detract from my enjoyment of the book whatsoever.
I am absolutely ready for more Kitty adventures and cannot wait to see who is next!
**I was generously provided with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review**
I love Kitty Valentine. She dares to be herself at the best and worst of times and I find that uniquely endearing. Dodd creates the perfect blend of bad *** and does so will style. Humor is a constant companion with a dose of heart thrown in for good measure.
This is book 3 in Kitty Valentine series can be read as a stand-alone but more enjoyable to read in order. This time Kitty lets her friend spin the wheel to see who her next date/book will be about. It lands on a rock star this time and her friend being a lawyer scores her tickets to no other than her childhood rock star crush Dustin and his first comeback performance. I was glad to see Kitty being herself and the way the story is written is so relatable. Glad to see things go as it did and can’t wait to see who she will date/write about next.
Oh Kitty…this adventure didn’t turn out quite as expected. With Kitty’s other dates, the hero has been a true gentlemen and it just wasn’t the right time. But with Dustin, the rock star, he was neither the right time or person. One thing this troupe showed Kitty was how much she is growing as not only an author, but as a person. This series is a fun look at the ups and downs of the dating world, and this book leaves you wanting Kitty to find “the one”. There are still more dates to come, but I’m on the sidelines silently rooting for my favorite.
Rock stars…what was Kitty thinking? I really loved how REAL Kitty’s experience is with her boy band idol Dustin and his comeback tour. This round of dating is much more gritty and a little less sweet than her two previous attempts. I thoroughly enjoy Kitty’s adventures and fall in love with her neighbor Matt a little more each book. This story was a roller coaster for both me and Kitty and thank you for steadfast support from best friends and grandmothers. This series offers both readers and Kitty lessons on relationships and growing up. Keep your trust circle small and true but don’t let people make you insecure or jaded. I’m excited to find out who Kitty will date next!
Once again, the hot-guy spinning prize wheel was spun and this time it landed on Rock Star! This means that Kitty Valentine has to find herself a rock star to date so she can write about her dating adventures in her next novel. I was wondering if she was going to magically have the number of a rock star in her address book but no, how she managed to meet the man she was going to date was perfect I thought, and I also loved that there was some history.
The way that the story went in this book was how I imagined dating a rock star like Dustin could be. It wasn’t necessarily what I wanted for Kitty, but everything happens for a reason…. right? I adore Kitty and I would love for her to find the man of her dreams for real, and I had high hopes that the man she met that first night could have ticked that box, but I loved that my feelings changed as the story progressed.
I enjoyed this story; it was entertaining from start to finish. I did however miss the ‘laugh out loud’ humour that the previous book had. I award Kitty Valentine Dates a Rock Star 3.5-4 stars. I’m looking forward to seeing where the wheel lands next, although I’m still #TeamMatt and I’m hoping her dating journey ends right across the hall!
If you want a fantastic series, this one is IT! Kitty is on another dating adventure, yet again, but this time the wheel lands her on a rockstar. I loved seeing Kitty’s friend make a bigger appearance in the book. Though she finds herself a rockstar, I found myself really wishing we had that doctor back! I also love the development of Kitty’s relationship with her neighbor! Wondering when she will hit that on the wheel! This book made me laugh out loud, and I cannot wait for Kitty’s next adventure!
