SPIN THE WHEEL. DATE THE GUY.Six years ago, Kitty Valentine took the book world by storm when her sweet debut romance hit number one on the New York Times Best Sellers List, which was followed by a string of successful releases. Her latest novel, however, totally bombs, causing her editor to suggest she write much sexier books. To Kitty, writing smut is the literary equivalent of stripping. But … literary equivalent of stripping.
But with no advance coming in and her royalties dipping to an all-time low, Kitty has no choice.
Armed with a hot-guy spinning prize wheel, made by her best friend, listing all the different types of men she will date and then write about, Kitty will be spinning–not stripping–her way back onto the best-sellers list.
* Doctor romance
* Hot neighbor
* Laugh out loud funny
* Standalone
* Fast-paced, easy read

Ohhhh my gosh.
So, the next guy on the ‘Spin the Wheel’ for Kitty is a doctor. She embarks on some online dating but ultimately meets Dr. Jake in the ER because of an accident.
I just fell in love with Dr. Jake. He is a really nice guy who sounds like Chris Hemsworth as Thor.
He is sweet and sexy and even agrees to meet Kitty’s grandma.
With Kitty…. You just never know what is going to happen and that is what keeps me on pins and needles with these stories. They are fun, easy reads with so much heart.
How do writers make you fall in love with characters over and over again? I don’t get it.
This was another smooth and enjoyable read. I love the variation in male characters. The way Jillian has written two very different characters so far, but I’ve adored them both equally, just blows my mind.
It’s a fantastic series. But um, I think I might like to see some boy next door action (wink wink).
Oh, I am so in love with Kitty Valentine’s adventures! I am thoroughly enjoying Kitty navigate the real world of dating and writing a fictional story, taking from her experiences.
Spin the wheel and this time it’s a doctor!
One of the things that I loved in this story was how Kitty didn’t meet “The One” in the first meeting. Oh no, the first meeting was an absolute disaster and I felt like such an ass for laughing at what was going on.
A few bad dates and a meddler in the form of the neighbour’s golden retriever, Kitty landed in the ER was a sprained ankle and a very interested doctor.
I loved the journey that Kitty has gone through these two books. Not only is she discovering the dating scene and getting out of her comfort zone, but she is also finding things about herself as well. Even though the relationships are fleeting, both Kitty and her muse take something positive from each other.
Another thing that I love is how invested Kitty gets in these relationships. She knows that these relationships are only meant for a short time, but she still puts her all in and experiences things, allowing me, as the reader, to get the second-hand experience through her adventures.
I am super excited to see how the next one plays out since it’s a Rock Star!
4 Stars!
Kitty Valentine Dates a Doctor (Kitty Valentine #2) was another great read by Jillian Dodd. Kitty Valentine is a best selling author who has had many successful releases. When one of her books totally bombs, her editor suggests that she starts writing sexier books. Kitty knows that she starts to do this and her best friend makes a hot guy spinning wheel to help with who she should date for inspiration next. Although Kitty signed up for a dating site, she meets doctor Jake when she goes to the ER. I really enjoyed reading Kitty’s story and can’t wait to read more of her new writing journey.
Another quick, fun read in this series. This is the perfect series for the summer.
I do have to admit I didn’t like this one quite as much as the first one. Kitty got on my nerves a bit in this one. Can she even be nice to Matt? Like, I get that he likes teasing her on some things but she is almost downright mean to him for no reason. She doesn’t even have nice thoughts about him when he does something nice for her. He’s show more respect to her than the guys she ends up dating but she treats him the worst. I just feel like if she’s going to find love like she wants (and not just for her books) then she has quite a bit of growing up to do.
I am looking forward to the next book. They are fun to read and keep a smile on my face.
These books are too cute and are really quick and easy reads.
I really liked Kitty in the last book but she just comes off as SO rude about her neighbor, friends, and grandmother in this one. I almost feel like that is her getting bolder though so I felt like I couldn’t be too upset about it.
Dr. Jake was very nice and seemed like a cool guy. I also liked how they alluded to her getting a dog. I hope that happens in the next book.
I am excited to see where Kitty ends up but I kind of want her to end up with Matt at the end.
Doctor Next?
Was an okay read. Kitty basically checking “types” off of her list in order to write romance novels featuring a man in that particular profession. Kitty came across as whiny and a little mean at times. Was a quick, light read with little to no sexy times. I do prefer my books to have a HEA but given that this is more about Kitty doing research than having an actual relationship, I guess this should be expected.
SOMEWHAT OF A SPOILER: Such a good book! I love Kitty’s character so much. Jillian does such a great job at showing everyone’s emotions and makes you feel like you’re in the book. The only thing that I am not crazy about in this series, is you fall in love with each love interest but you know that they’ll never be together so you’re constantly crying, wanting their relationship to be perfect. But, that just goes to show you how good of a writer Jillian is because she makes you fall in love with them so easily. Another thing I like is Kitty’s respect for herself when it comes to a relationship, she knows what she wants and how she should be treated and I love that. Really good book & highly recommend!
Kitty Valentine Dates a Doctor
I want to start by saying that I absolutely love this series! I think it’s so funny and lighthearted.
This series follows Kitty Valentine, a New York Best Selling Author, who gets blindsided by her publisher. She gets told that her sweet rom-coms are flopping and she needs to write more “smut” to be successful.
Kitty’s best friend Hayley has a solution, she creates a spinner with numerous different tropes. Spin the spinner, date the guy, write the book. Sounds easy enough right? Right, but can Kitty do this without feelings getting involved? Read the book to find out.
I highly recommend this book, like all of Jillian Dodd other books. Especially if you need a lighthearted funny rom-com or are a fan. Kitty Valentine is the perfect series. I cannot wait to read Kitty Valentine Dates a Rockstar.

Stephannie’s 5 Star Review:
I love everything Jillian Dodd writes because she always gets you so excited about the character’s in her books that they feel like real people. I am always invested in her characters. I really love these fun loving and light Kitty Valentine books!
Kitty Valentine was a popular romance author who is dating different types of guys and writing about it. She spins to pick. The first book in this series was to date a billionaire. The book was a hit and now she spins and she will be dating a doctor. The next issues is how to find a doctor to date. How does she find a doctor to date? What happens when she finds him?
This is a different type of series, there isn’t going to be a necessary HEA at the end of each book because it’s a journey that we are going through with Kitty. She isn’t just doing this for writing books. I think she is learning about herself and what she wants in a man and what she doesn’t want. I don’t know who will be the guy for her but I am enjoying the ride. The guy who seems to be a constant in each book is her neighbor Matt. I think he just might be the guy for her in the end but who knows.
This is a great series that’s fun, sweet, and steamy, check out Kitty Valentine’s books! I adore Kitty and can’t wait to see what she gets into next with her rockstar!Jillian Dodd
I am still so in love with Kitty. She had a natural unintentional charm and I can’t wait to see who she dates next. Doctor Jake was absolutely great and he woke something in Kitty that we didn’t see before. With every book we see how much she is growing into a strong confident woman and I’m excited about what is coming next.
I adore this series. Kitty Valentine writes sweet romances and is turning up the heat with her new books. Her best friend cracks me up, I love the conversations between these two.
If your looking for fun fast paced story that keeps on turning the pages, look no further. Kitty Valentine will take on an adventure with her hot new dates. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I loved reading Kitty’s adventure with a hot doctor. Parts had me in a fit of laughter. This series is fun and hilarious. Such an amazing chick lit read. I’m ready for her to date a rock star. I can only imagine the craziness she will get into.
Like the first book in the series, “Kitty Valentine Dates a Doctor” by Jillian Dodd was a super cute and laugh-out-loud funny story featuring endearing characters and an engaging plot. Main character Kitty is delightfully quirky and sweet, and it’s very easy to root for her to find a romantic partner who will appreciate how special she is along with the inspiration she’s seeking for her stories through these dating adventures. Until then, Kitty has a great sidekick in snarky yet supportive BFF Hayley, who does a great job of helping Kitty get out of her comfort zone. (Sidenote: I hope there are plans for Hayley to find a partner of her own! Wouldn’t it be funny if she ended up falling for one of Kitty’s cast-off “research subjects” along the way?)
I’ve also enjoyed Kitty’s relationship with her neighbor/frenemy Matt. I have to wonder if the two of them aren’t secretly harboring romantic feelings for each other. Maybe Hayley should add “neighbor” to her trope wheel and see what happens! 😉
Overall, “Kitty Valentine Dates a Doctor” was a tremendous amount of fun, and I highly recommend it for fans of chick lit and romantic comedy. I’m excited to see who Kitty will date next!

Such a cute rom com. Kitty needs to steam up her writing pronto since her last book didn’t do great but she needs inspiration so to speak so she’s on a mission to date different men with the help of her best friend and a spin wheel and ding ding ding it land on Doctor, enter Jake!! I’m looking forward to seeing how this series will pan out and what will happen with Kitty!
I love Jillian’s books every book she writes is amazing. This book is so much fun. When Kitty meets the amazing and hot Doctor Jake, She can’t help the way that he makes her feel. To find out what happens in this book buy and read it.
What a fun, entertaining story! Its the first book I have read by the author! The storyline definitely intrigued me!
Kitty is an author and stuck on ideas for her next book! She tries online dating but when an unfortunate rather funny incident happens, she finds herself in the ER and meets the most beautiful man! Needless to say this book isn’t without drama, good banter as well as antics and I thought her grandmother was a hoot!
Can she get her book written by the deadline? How will things with the good Dr go?
I really had my hopes up and was hoping for a hea!! Lock him down Kitty!!! Can she?? Or are things too good to be true??!!!
A good read!
Kitty is my spirit animal! Meeting the date wasn’t as fun as she thought it would be. Expect he told her to call if she needed anything! Kitty needed a DATE! You will laugh. You will want to punch someone in the face. Kitty takes on you on adventure and you will enjoy every second.
Jillian Dodd has a wonderfully fun series going with this one!
Kitty (Kathryn) Valentine is a best selling romance writer, and then one of her books tanks. The answer? “You need more sexy times” her editor tells her. And thus, the wheel of fate is born.
Hayley, Kitty’s best friend, has created a wheel featuring all the different tropes of romance novels. Kitty spins, the wheel of fate chooses, and then Kitty is off to fulfill the choice and write her book.
Honestly, I’m loving this plot device. It’s like that game of Life in real life. It also helps that Ms. Dodd writes some witty characters which more than fill out the gist and bring the book (and Kitty’s books) to life.
Kitty is a wonderful, introvert, with a clumsiness streak, living in Manhattan. She literally stumbles and finds her doctor.
Jake, her doctor is just, WOAH. Jake is written as a whole lot of eye candy, but he has a playful soft side and looks at life as an adventure that needs to be lived.
My heart broke a little when Kitty and Jake hit their bump in the road.
Not only do we have a sarcastic and fun writer dating a playful, thoughtful ER doctor we also have a great set of side characters. There is Hayley the genius high power attorney who is dragging her friend through her insecurities so Kitty can keep writing best sellers, Matt the next door neighbor with a goofy lab who offers insightful, but unwanted commentary on Kitty’s life, and her grandmother – the classy rich upper East Side matron who has a mouth and a sense of humor of much younger generation. Finally there is Maggie the editor. Who is beginning to blur the line between business relationship and caring for Kitty. Maggie becomes more human and caring the more Kitty pours her personal feelings into her books.
Kitty’s world is rich and well written. The characters reactions to “staring” in her books are real and hysterical. Online dating failures are even handled realistically, cringe worthy, and truthfully.
I can’t wait to see what the next installment of the misadventures of Kitty dates herself to the best seller list bring.
Also, I’m pulling for Matt.
Well..my, my…Kitty does date a doctor pretty darn hard! I really like that Kitty is willing to throw her heart out there and give each guy a try whether she actually wants to or not. I feel all sorts of angst about this round and he just about killed me with how things turned. I was rooting for Mr. Doctor. And Matt…I wish you’d wake up and see what’s right across the hall. But these books are fun and entertaining. I’m addicted to my Kitty saga and can’t wait to see where her misadventures take her next!
