This talking cat has a murder to solve… But will his new human agree to play Watson to his Sherlock? I was just your normal twenty-something with seven associate degrees and no idea what I wanted to do with my life. That is, until I died… Well, almost. As if a near-death experience at the hands of an old coffeemaker wasn’t embarrassing enough, I woke up to find I could talk to animals. Or rather … to find I could talk to animals. Or rather one animal in particular.
His full name is Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton, but since that’s way too long for anyone to remember, I’ve taken to calling him Octo-Cat. He talks so fast he can be difficult to understand, but seems to be telling me that his late owner didn’t die of natural causes like everyone believes.
Well, now it looks like I no longer have a choice, apparently my life calling is to serve as Blueberry Bay’s first ever pet whisperer P.I while maintaining my façade as a paralegal at the offices of Fulton, Thompson & Associates.
I just have one question: How did Dr. Doolittle make this gig look so easy?

The first book in a new series called Pet Whisperer PI is a very good cosy mystery that kept me turning pages. I found myself smiling with Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton or Octo-Cat as he gets called. I will be looking to read the next book.
A quick and FUN read featuring a talking cat! What a hoot! Highly recommend!
I just finished reading Kitty Confidential (Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 1) by Molly Fitz . I have never read any cozy mysteries but have been wanting to. Since I love cats and dogs I thought this would be a great book to start with. The story involves a legal secretary who gets an electric zap thereafter can talk to a cat whose little old lady owner was murdered. The cat is a bit arrogant and demonstrates verbally what I know to be some normal cat behaviors and attitudes. The kitty asks (no demands) that our heroine help solve the murder . Of course the kitty witnessed the whole thing. What a delightful and fun read. Highly recommend this book. And I will be reading more!
I don’t usually read mysteries but since this had to do with animals and an author I have read other things from not in her penned named I read it. I was not disappointed. This book has a fantasy angle to it. The cat talks to its new owner.
who killed the cat;s former owner?

Kitty Confidential is a brilliant, original cozy mystery. Angie Russo wakes up after an accident to discover she can talk to, and hear, a cat. Octavius is persistent, proud, spoilt, sulky and grieving. He insists Angie must help him. I recognize every look and all the sass that Octo-cat gives as I see it in my own cats every day. This is an enjoyable, entertaining book with great characters and Octo-cat provides humour and some laugh out loud moments. I definitely recommend this book to all cozy mystery fans and animal lovers everywhere as it is a terrific start to a new series.
This book is funny, light-hearted mystery with a talking cat!!
I really liked this quirky and entertaining story.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a wonderful exciting different storyline. I didn’t want to put it down. What was Octo-Cat going to do next? How was Angie going to figure out who had murdered Aunt Ethel?
So many twists and turns in this ‘who done it ‘ book. Just a delightful read.
I received an ARC for an honest review. I thought the book was so funny. I like light-hearted mysteries. Angie can talk to animals and the first animal she encounters is a cat with an attitude. Together they will solve the murder of Octo-Cat’s owner. It’s a shorter book so a quick easy read.
I found Kitty Confidential to be a quick and fun cozy mystery. I am not a huge cat fan, but Octavius was a pretty cool cat. I thought the book was very well written and a joy to read. I would definitely recommend it to others.
I honestly was not sure if I was going to like this story about a pet whisperer but I loved it. It was a funny, fast paced mystery with great characters. Angie Russo is a quirky paralegal that seems to have nine lives and she is not the kitty. It was fun to watch her solve the mystery of who killed Octo-Cat’s owner. I really look forward to reading more stories in this series. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This is not my favorite genre but now that I have read this book and know that it will be a series I might become hooked.
I love any story with animal involvement and this one is so cute and quirky.
The two main characters, human and feline, are hilarious.
The plot has a few twists and turns and you become engrossed in it.
The author has a winner on her hands.
I received a free copy for an honest review.
I love this new series! A great tale, well written, with really great charecters. I love the mystery angle as well as the communication between animal and human.
Angie and Octo are sure to bring more fun in the next book! I’m looking forward to getting started on it soon.
I love the premise for this book, so I bought it on release day and didn’t wait long to start reading it. Kitty Confidential is a fun quick cozy mystery read about Angie who after a near death experience has the ability to talk with animals. The cat from a women who recently died tells her his owner was murdered and she decides to help him.
I had fun reading this book. I liked the premise of the main character who solves mysteries alongside the animals she encounters and her relationship and interactions with Octo-Cat were fun to read. That’s probably my favorite part of this story. Octo-Cat really sounds show I imagine a cat would talk and he has quite the personality. He is a bit rude at first and used to his luxurious lifestyle, but I liked seeing Octo-Cat and Angie grow closer over the course of the book.
Sadly the mystery was a bit of a miss for me. There was very little investigating, Angie decides on a main suspect at the start and basically sticks with that. She asks some questions at her work place about the murdered women and notices some suspicious things, but that’s about it. The mystery had a good set-up, but the way it progresses didn’t keep my attention. I guess I just would’ve liked a bit more investigating and guessing and more discovering about what happened. There is a bit of a twist, which was a nice touch, although I managed to predict it. I also thought a few reasoning were a bit strange and some of the things Angie thought or decided just didn’t quite make sense to me. The book just felt a bit too short and the mystery not expanded and in depth enough.
Angie was a nice enough main character I liked how she studied multiple things and wasn’t quite sure what to do with her life, but she also seemed happy enough with her life. I like how she took care of Octo-Cat and quickly believed him about the murderer. I did think she was quite rude to a side character at some point, especially as I thought her conclusion was a bit far fetched and the way she confronted that person was just wrong. Angie sure could be a bit impulsive at times.
There are a few side characters, but the focus mostly stays on Angie and the few co-workers at the place she works and Octo-Cat ofcourse. Octo-Cat could be quite annoying at first, but I did like him when he showed his nice side. It was clear he cared for his previous owner and wanted justice. Angie’s Nan also seemed nice. Her co-workers we get a bit of a feel for, some more than others. They werne’t really interesting tough, although there is a mention at the end that was kinda interesting.
To summarize: This was a quick and fun read with a main character who gains the ability to talk to to animals. I liked the premise of this book. The mystery didn’t fully work for me tough, there was little investigating and getting to know more about the murder/ motive ans suspects. Angie just asked a few questions while she was already at her work and noticed a few strange things, then jumper to conclusions. And didn’t really consider any other suspects, besides her main suspect. Some of her reasoning didn’t make sense to me. The whole mystery was pretty straightforward, although there is a bit of a twist at the end. It just wasn’t engaging enough for me tough and I wanted more depth to the mystery. Angie seemed nice enough, although I thought she was quite rude at times to a certain side character. Octo-Cat was fun to read about, although he was a bit rude and annoying at first, he have his nice moments too and I liked seeing him and Angie grow closer over the course of the book.
This is one fun and entertaining book. There’s mystery, suspense, twists and turns, and friendship with a cat of all things. This is just one story that can make you smile.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
Despite how stupid this plot is, it is really funny and filled with a bunch of crazy characters. This includes our heroine. Stupidity is the our heroine’s mainstay, especially when it comes to the P.I. business. In fact, I think the cat is smarter than the human. It’s obvious our human doesn’t really know how cats operate and expects them to act like humans. She has a lot to learn.
A furry murder mystery
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, just couldn’t put it down.
When Angie gets electrocuted at her job she gains the ability to talk to animals. The first animal she meets is Octavius who’s owner has just been murdered. After dubbing the cat Oct-cat the pair set out to find the murder but will they be able to do it without Angie losing her life.
Can’t wait for the next book in the series
KITTY CONFIDENTIAL is the first in the Pet Whisperer, P.I. series. I strongly recommend reading them all and in the order of release. Me? I can’t wait for the next one to be available.
I wanted to be Dr. Doolittle back when it was Rex Harrison playing the part and singing the songs – everything is better when you sing it! Hmmmm, I wonder if singing would make a certain grumpy OctoCat a little less curmudgeonly.
How Angie came to be able to understand her feline overlord (all feline are overlords, just ask them) is imaginative and a perfect lead to all of the coffee snark to follow. This leads into her looking for who murdered the cat’s former mistress.
Since I love cats, cozy mysteries, and a certain old musical movie, this was a sure fire winner for me. It did not disappoint at all and I am looking forward to more from this series. It’s yet to be seen if Angie will be able to talk to other animals. I hope she does. Given the names of the next few books, I’m hoping she will be talking to terriers, Chihuahuas, and other sweet pets.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Molly Fitz shares a sweet, cozy mystery in her debut story. I really enjoyed the mystery, the cat’s involvement and a story with a very surprising ending. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Fitz offers next.
I’m not quite sure what prompted me to pick up this book, probably an excerpt in Melissa Foster’s newsletter. Although I read an occasional cozy mystery, I’m not particularly fond of those with a touch of paranormal or overly clever pets. However, KITTY CONFIDENTIAL succeeds on all fronts, and strangely enough, the main reason is the talking cat! First of all, because he is not really a talking cat: Angie Russo, the human who eventually inherits him, and the cat converse in a deliberately unspecified way. Even they don’t know if they understand each other in cat language or human language. I liked how everything happened, it didn’t feel too far-fetched, but the most important reason why I felt it worked so beautifully is that Molly Fitz doesn’t anthropomorphise the cat. Anyone who has ever had a cat will know what I mean. He does not have superpowers, he behaves like your typical cat, except that he and Angie can hold conversations. I also love how some conceps are totally foreign to him, and how he tells humans apart; it’s very clever.
KITTY CONFIDENTIAL is the first book in the Pet Whisperer P.I. series, and I enjoyed it so much, I have already preordered the three upcoming books. That, my friends, is confidence! Ms. Fitz smoothly introduces us to her world, without any info dumping, the writing flows effortlessly, the editing is almost flawless (there are literally only two typos), and I like where the series is going. I have only one issue, how Angie calls the cat: Octo-Cat. His name is Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton (and don’t you dare make a mistake!). I prefer to mentally call him Octavius, because Octo-Cat makes me think of Octo Mom, and no, just no! This is going to be a fun series!
I give 4 1/2 stars
Can a murder mystery be fun? You bet if it’s Molly Fitz’s Kitty Confidential! Book 1 of the Pet Whisperer P.I. series has Angie being shocked by the ancient office coffee pot. When she comes around she realizes that she can talk to the cat with way too many names. She calls him Octo-Cat. He tells her his owner was murdered and asks for help to find the murderer. And so begins their adventures. This is a fast paced, page turning story. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I highly recommend!
Kitty Confidential is the first installment from Molly Fitz’s series, Pet Whisperer PI. I enjoyed this quick little cozy mystery. I found myself laughing out loud throughout, making me to keep reading until the end. I had it read in just a couple of hours.
I give Kitty Confidential four and a half stars. I can not wait to find out what happens next in the Pet Whisperer PI series. Such a delightful and fun read.
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion
