This talking cat has a murder to solve… But will his new human agree to play Watson to his Sherlock? I was just your normal twenty-something with seven associate degrees and no idea what I wanted to do with my life. That is, until I died… Well, almost. As if a near-death experience at the hands of an old coffeemaker wasn’t embarrassing enough, I woke up to find I could talk to animals. Or rather … to find I could talk to animals. Or rather one animal in particular.
His full name is Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton, but since that’s way too long for anyone to remember, I’ve taken to calling him Octo-Cat. He talks so fast he can be difficult to understand, but seems to be telling me that his late owner didn’t die of natural causes like everyone believes.
Well, now it looks like I no longer have a choice, apparently my life calling is to serve as Blueberry Bay’s first ever pet whisperer P.I while maintaining my façade as a paralegal at the offices of Fulton, Thompson & Associates.
I just have one question: How did Dr. Doolittle make this gig look so easy?

Need a quick pick me up with an adorable talking cat who helps solve crimes? It’s here! Molly Fitz does not disappoint in this cute start to a brand new series. I’m already hooked and picking up the next book. Do yourself a favor and spend some time in Blueberry Bay. It’s so fun and cute you’ll wish you had a talking cat of your own.
Kitty Confidential is a quirky and humorous cozy mystery. Angie Russo loves to learn and has earned seven degrees from the local community college. But a girl needs to work if she wants to take more classes (I know the feeling). She loves shopping at the local dollar store and her clothing has an 80s vibe (she really does not fit in at the law office). After being shocked by the old coffee maker, Angie can now talk to Octo-Cat. He needs her help in proving his deceased owner was murdered. Kitty Confidential is a story that will keep you laughing. There is one zany incident and unique character after another. Octo-Cat grows on you as the story progresses. I loved the cat’s reaction when he was served tap water in a dollar bowl (he only drinks Evian in crystal or Lennox). Octo-Cat’s snide comments had me chuckling. I like the author’s casual writing style and the story progresses at a speedy pace. Kitty Confidential is one of those books that you need to suspend your disbeliefs and reality. You just need to read the story and go with the flow. The mystery is unassuming, but there is misdirection to distract readers. Kitty Confidential is a cute, entertaining cozy mystery that will brighten your day.
What a fun book! I have to admit, I’m a pushover for stories where the animals are understood, and this one didn’t disappoint. Fun, fast, and funny–everything I like in a cozy.
It’s fun being in the POV of a cat with an attitude.
I liked the idea of this book so thought I would give it ago, glad I did. I loved the mischief the cat got up to and being a cat lover it was fun to get the cats point of view.
Angie is working in a law office where she suffers a work place accident. When she wakes up she finds herself surrounded by all the staff and one grumpy cat , that she can understand. returning from the hospital her new feline friend informs her that he is there because his owner was murdered and he wants her help solving the murder. Chaos and mayhem ensues as the pair try to keep Angie’s ability a secret, solve a murder and learn to live together.
I can’t wait to start the next book in the series and think it is also a book to add to my audio book collection.
I just finished Kitty Confidential last night… and wow, what a ride! I fell in love with Molly Fitz’s fresh, zany voice on the first page. From the electrocuting coffee pot to the delightfully quirky supporting cast to the star of the show… OctoCat (I won’t tell you more and spoil the fun)… this is a delightfully fun ride of a book. I’ve already started the second book in the series!!!
This was a fun book! Angie was quirky and her interactions with Octo-Cat were hilarious! I would recommend this book to others and look forward to reading more books by this author.
This was a great mystery story to read. I recommend this story to everyone who loves reading mysteries.
All you need is an open mind, an open heart and a wry sense of humor to enjoy the oddness that is Kitty Confidential. There is always a twist that’s a little bit bigger and tad stranger than the one before, but through all the weirdness, Octo-cat, Fitz and her roster of quirkily, irresistible characters, give readers something to smile about.
I love this series so much

Loved it
Great book
O M F G. My absolutely favorite thing ever, a talking kitty. I love cozies with talking kitties. Octo’s hooman Angie is a likable character, i liked her right away. I will for sure be reading the rest of this series. This is my first book by Molly Fitz and it’s a good one. This book is a quick and easy read. The cozy lovers out there will absolutely devour these books.
Nice cozy mystery with a twist
4 1/2 stars
Loved this first book of this series I hope the rest is just as good. If you like mystery and pets youll love this book
There is no language or sexual references so I can recommend this to my advanced reading preteen friends
Great book.
Hilarious cosy murder mystery.
Angie is working as a paralegal and she gets electrocuted by the coffee maker. When she wakes up after the incident, she finds herself capable of talking to a cat. Octo-cat is convinced that his previous master was murdered and wants Angie to solve it.
Fun and light murder mystery which was funny almost all the way through. Liked it.
Loved the semi obnoxious, sarcastic, self-possessed, somewhat insecure cat. The protagonist was at times shamelessly nosy, but she was working for Octo-Cat. Mostly the book is funny with a HEA ending.
Like Angie, the main character in the story, I wanted the person who killed the cat’s owner behind bars. This is no ordinary cat. He is annoying and talks to Angie. Well, let’s just say she can understand him after an embarrassing accident at work. The story had funny moments and some interesting twists. I have to admit, I was glad when Angie and the cat finally became friends.
” In his mind, cats were the most intellectually superior species on the planet, which seemed laughable to me. Were humans otherwise deluded about their place in the animal kingdom? It sure made me wonder. ”
Angie is a bit of an overachiever…7 Associate Degrees would prove that hands down. Her job as a paralegal puts her smack dab in the middle of the usual office… stuff. Until she gets electrocuted by the ancient coffee maker. Then her world changes….
When the managing partner and his family have to deal with his wealthy aunt’s death and most of her money gets left to her cat :Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton, the ..stuff hits the fan. And Angie finds she can communicate with the cat!? Octo-Cat insists that someone killed Ethel, and is sure Angie can help find out just who. The question becomes can she trust the cat to help?
Writing under the name Molly Fitz, Melissa Storm is developing a hilarious series of Pet Whisperer cosy mysteries that are guaranteed to make you have a good time when you read them. Octo-Cat, Nan and Angie are an unstoppable trio to figure out just what the neck is going on, even if Octo-Cat seems to be running the show! Highly Recommended 5/5
Sarcasm galore: fun romp with a talking cat with ‘tude
I loved the snark and action, particularly in the first half of this story, as part-time paralegal Angie Russo finds herself egged on by a cat to investigate the death of its elderly, wealthy owner. Author Molly Fitz instills sarcasm, sass and humor into the developing relationship between Angie and her new feline houseguest. Their interactions are cute, comical and sometimes made me laugh out loud.
It’s an easy, breezy start to a detective partnership that looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
