SLOW BURN!!!
Talking about tapping out. Jillian really knows how to tell a story with strong characters that are well developed and believable. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out perfectly. The scenes are so graphic and descriptive it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. Twists and turns abound with unexpected surprises that keep the suspense and intrigue rising until the very end. This is a no brainer to grab this bad boy. Jillian did an incredible job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Great job Jillian, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

I always enjoy Jillian Riley’s books and “Kissing the Counsel” was no exception. The characters are always believable and from the get go, you find yourself rooting for them. Evan and Angel knew each other in high school and while Evan was crazy about her, Angel didn’t want anything to do with him because of his friend, Jack. They meet again, by chance, when Evan returns to Fall Ranch as a favor to Jack’s father. He is surprised that Angel now has a son but it doesn’t stop old feelings from coming to the surface and there were some very poignant memories from Evan that just tugged at my heart. This book was light on drama, which I loved, but it still managed to draw me in and I couldn’t put it down.

Hi. I was given this book as an ARC to review. This is my first time reading one of Ms Riley’s books. The story is very good. I enjoyed the relationship between Evan and Angel. I loved the way Evan stood by Angel and protected them. There were a few characteristics that bothered me about Evan, i. e. the way he was so focussed on money and that it took him such a long time to forgive himself. Overall a very good story. I would love to read more of Ms Riley’s books.

This book contains steamy sex scenes and is for 18+ readers.
I loved this book! Angel and Evan were made for each other, even if they don’t believe it. After a promise to a friend leaves Angel caring for a 6 month old boy, her world changes. Forced to go back home to Falls Ranch , Angel struggles to keep it together. Business brings Evan back home. Falls Ranch is the last place he wants to be, even though his sister & mother are there . When Evan meets Angel, his high school crush, aftet so long, the sparks do fly. You will ache for Angel as she struggles to keep her secret. Cheer for Evan as he tries to win over Angel. You will cross your fingers when Angel’s secret is revealed, hoping Evan won’t betray her.
So, lost love, secrets, misunderstandings, hopes & fears, you are gonna love this book. Oh, and pie. Did I mention pie?

Characters in this book were likeable and I enjoyed reading their story. Angel was keeping a secret for a friend. Evan is hired to find a child for his grandfather. Evans journey leads him back to Angel. The two knew each other in school but drama kept them apart. Evan is still attracted to Angel, but Angel needs to keep a secret from him. This book was awesome. I loved the connection Evan and Angel had. This was a great second chance romance story.

This is a well written book that has many twist to the plot. In the beginning Angel is given a precious gift to protect and cherish. She leaves the big city and returns home in the hopes that her secret will never get out. Evan is a big time city lawyer Who will do anything for his mentor. He returns home to the small town to investigate what happened to his friends child that no one knew about. Through many different twist of ups and downs with the main characters, they find true love and it doesn’t matter to them If they have to take on the world to be happy.

I really enjoyed reading this book it was actually you definitely must read it I didn’t put it down the entire time I finished it from beginning to end in one read
I have recently “discovered” this author and I have to say after reading this book, I have become a true fan.
The story centers around Angel Ramirez, little Nickie, and Evan Bennett.
Angel is entrusted a baby by a former HS friend, with the promise to keep his true identity a secret. A boy she would come to love as her own.
Years later she is forced to go back to her hometown to make ends meet.
A boy she knew in school, now a successful man, shows up at the diner she works at, and she worries her secret will be discovered.
Without giving away the rest of the story, suffice is to say that the plot is fast paced, the characters are complex and considering it’s not a lengthy novel, well developed.
What happens when feelings start growing? Will the truth be revealed and if so, what will be the consequences?
Another well written story by this talented author. Not sure if it will become a series, but there definitely are potential stories with the secondary characters , Margie, and Carlos.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This is a well written second chance romance between Evan and Angel. Their characters are strong and the story moves quickly and smoothly. The author does a good job building the story, adding the secret that they’ll need to deal with. It’s an interesting story enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
The devil’s not so black as he is painted – second chance romance.
Don’t judge book by its cover. Will Evan has his chance with Angel? Will she allow him this time to show how much he always cared for her? Will the past be their undoing or will they have chance for true love and stable relationship?
Those two together on the pages were absolutely amazing and the little Nicki is so sweet and smart. Storyline with a little bit of angst, hidden truths and suspense. There are also sexy and steamy moments. I very much enjoyed reading this one as the other books by this author. I knew I won’t be disappointed.
Jillian Riley’s story about a mother protecting her friend’s child, and the lawyer who falls for her was sweet. And as always, I am amazed at how Ms. Riley has grown as an author. Her writing style have developed well, and I for one am looking forward to her future stories. Bravo, Jillian Riley! Good job!
