4.5 **** starsI have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this (not a Seal) book! I love her books! What started out as house sitting for her aunt turns out to get complicated. There is a pig that comes into the house, cats who don’t like her and a crazy bunch of chickens that are the owners pets because she’s not zoned agricultural. Her mother has already ticked off the farmer who’s a hunk of stuff. This was a fun feel good story with some mystery and investigation of old journals. It was interesting from the beginning, there’s lots of hot action going on with our friends with benefits couple who don’t communicate with each other, an uninvited intruder and finding a missing document for a special lady. Not a heavy duty book, just a read for pure entertainment but not quite a Lifetime movie.

Harper is a romance writer who is suffering from writers block. She finds herself house sitting for her great aunt in Mudville. Here she meets Stone who is a corn farmer who has the sexiest body Harper has ever seen.
There are house break ins and people trying to find out secrets that are written in diaries that are stored in a trunk in Aunt Agnes’s attic. Friendships are made and a romance blossoms until Harper leaves town only to realise two months later that she misses Mudville and her friends she made. Is there a chance with Stone, or where they just a holiday fling?
You will laugh at the antics of the characters in this story, and fall in love with them as well. A great read where there is just enough mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed reading this book. I really want to know what happens with the other characters and if they find love too.

I was constantly saying I’m just going to read a little longer until I finally looked up and it was 2 in the morning and I had finished this book! Seriously funny…genuinely made me laugh out loud!! Just absolutely gorgeous…sharp humour, witty characters, (both main and secondary) real dialogue and lots of laughs….really brought all the feels too!! I will be definitely telling all of my friends to go pick up this book and series up (when the books come out :-)!) Even everything this amazing and very talented author has written (who I have been a big massive fan of for years and nearly owe all of her books!). Happy reading!!
Stone and Harper couldn’t be more different. When they first meet it’s attraction but she is embarrassed by her mother’s behavior. Stone knows a city girl when he sees one and isn’t sure Harper will make it in Mudville. They sure do lile each other and he seems to come to her rescue a lot.
Fun and flirty with some awkward moments but so worth the journey together.

Light and funny with characters that are easy to love, this romantic comedy has plenty of small town charm. I’ve only read Cat Johnson’s romantic suspense before, but even that had plenty of humor – and this ups the laughs significantly. Our hero is also a sexy, sweet farmer with a heart of gold, making it easy to get drawn in.
The story follows Harper, a romance novelist who is letting life pass her by as she stays locked away at home, working on her laptop in yoga pants. When her great aunt requests a housesitter for her small town home, Harper jumps at the chance. But she gets more than she bargained for with the creepy, giant old home and backyard full of animals. Add in the fact that she meets a grouchy farmer, Stone, who can’t seem to stay away, and life is suddenly very different for Harper. As she acclimates to small town life, Harper and Stone continue to be drawn to each other.
The writing style is great, making the pages fly by. First and foremost this is a romance, but there’s plenty of comedy, heart, and a touch of suspense. Stone is a fantastic hero – he’s protective but sweet, nice but decidedly alpha, and only has eyes for Harper. Harper is pretty feisty and easy to like. I was definitely rooting for them from the start, and the chemistry is there from the moment they meet. If I have a complaint about the book, it’s that things felt rushed between them at the end – we don’t get to savor them being together for long. We’re also introduced to Stone’s brothers, who would make great heroes in their own right. Overall, it’s a light and fun book that’s well worth a read.

Loved this book. I can only hope it is part of a series. The story was well written, laugh out loud funny and heartwarming. The characters were endearing, romantic and sexy.
Harper agrees to house sit her Great Aunt Agnes’ home in small town Mudville. She meets Stone at the Morgan family farmstand. She thinks he is gorgeous but a grump. He thinks she is hot but a big city girl though he feels compelled to help her out of some hilariously funny situations. They spend time together but neither communicates how they feel so when her Aunt comes back she goes home. On Thanksgiving she makes a surprise visit back and with a little nudge from her Aunt and friends they reconnect. She decides to move there and they slowly get their HEA.
