In the Cage, nothing is what it seems. It’s inescapable. And I’m dead in the sights of four insatiable and sexy men.My name is Lu Darke. I’m a witch by birth and an arsonist by accident, but I never thought I’d find myself in a place like this. Cimmerian Reform Academy, called ‘the Cage’ by its students, was once an asylum, but now I’m forced to call it home. My roommate hates me, the … hates me, the Headmistress has a sinister agenda, and worst of all, students have a habit of dying young and fast in the Cage. If I don’t watch my step, I might be the next to go, but help could come from dangerous places… for a price.
Roman and Shane were imprisoned for illegal shifting, and they look at me like they want to rip off my clothes with their fangs.
Professor Steele is a hard taskmaster whose special brand of punishment leaves me craving more.
And in the darkness beneath the Cage lurks the most deadly of predators- Locke, a vampire who walks through my dreams with a thirst for more than my blood.
Secrets lie in wait behind the black doors, students vanish overnight, and everyone hides what they really want. In the case of these four, however, what they want is crystal clear: me.
Kissed by Wildfire is the first 88K-word novel in a steamy, medium-burn academy reverse harem romance trilogy. No choosing, no cheating- only unbridled passion and emotional angst in a haunted gothic mansion! Mature readers only.

Series Review:
I have just finished this whole series and I loved it! It was different then most academy reads and I love all the characters. The story line was well thought out and very captivating! It is one of my most favorite things when you see real growth and maturity in the characters and you do see this in this series. The emotions are a roller coaster, you will laugh, cry, smile and everything in between. A must read series!!
Just a few things that are on my mind after this series has been completed…
What does she shift into?
Did Dom get a prosthetic arm?
Will their be a spin off about Holly, Daphne or their kids?
I really hope there is more in this universe that may answer these items……
Cate Corvin’s writing is absolutely to die for. I’m normally not into books about witches, and I skimmed past this in my searches because it looked like just another Academy book, although I have to admit, this cover is beautiful!
But one day, someone posted a ridiculously long review for this book series in a Facebook group. The person said she doesn’t usually do stuff like that and then went on for several hundred words about how well-developed the plot was, how relatable the characters were, how well written it was, and so on and so forth.
I had to see what all the fuss was about.
I’m so glad I did.
Had it not been for that post, I never would have read this book, and now I am addicted to this author. This story was indeed just as well developed and well written as it was made out to be. It’s an extremely unique story because it’s so dark, and there is so much other stuff going on, you almost forget it’s a reverse harem. And I know a lot of people have been bashing the teacher romance, but, well, I think it’s hot AF.
I think the vampire imprisoned in the basement was a nice touch as well. I’m looking forward to reading the next two books as well as any other books this author writes.
I read a few of the bad reviews as well and find it interesting that so many people have to put a book down when it is so well-sculpted. I know a lot of us get used to the childish and one-dimensional writing of so many authors in this genre, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but when an author as talented as this one put so much effort into plot development and story creation, I think it’s an absolute crime to put the book down before we finish it to find out just what a masterpiece this really is.
This is the first book that I have read by Corvin, and I plan to immediately download book 2. Lu is basically disowned and dropped off at Cimmerian Academy so that she can learn to control her witch powers, but Cimmerian hides some dark secrets. Shane, Roman, Dominic, and Locke each have their own secrets. I liked Lu, she is smart, crafty, and has a steel core. Each of the guys is unique. This story has some dark elements, intrigue, and some smoking hotness. 🙂
