This book is the absolute best book all year. I loved Liefs story. I couldn’t put it down. It was one that left me breathless.
The heartbreak! Leif felt he was worthless and unworthy of love. Sometimes life brings us to some truly dark areas. Mia was the light he needed to bring him out of his tunnel of darkness. Mia had her own hardships but her children were her bright light. Sometimes you have to grab hold of what you want and never let go. Loved this book!
Mia and Leif’s story will weave itself into your soul. Ms. Jackson has a way with not only words, but plot twists that I didn’t see coming and it really makes the story! I was loving the tormented hero in Leif and the strong woman in Mia, but the sucker punch right at the end had me reeling and I couldn’t finish the story fast enough. We are in a world we are familiar with and yet it’s a new beginning. I loved reconnecting with beloved characters as well as getting to know new ones. There is heat and angst and the story will bring you to tears, but it’s truly a must read. Loved it!
As the wife of a drummer, I feel especially qualified to recommend this rock star romance. Super heartwarming. Super sexy. 10 out of 10! Love it.
I absolutely fell in love with Leif and Mia’s story!
This is an A. L. Jackson book -so if you don’t know it already, you’re in for an emotional read at its finest.
Kiss The Stars is the first book in the Falling Stars series but can be read as a standalone.
If you have previously invested in the wonderful rock and roll world that this author has created, you’ll get to catch up with some familiar, lovable characters and meet a new band to fall in love with all over again.
Mia is the single mother who is not only beautiful inside and out, but strong and fierce, despite tragic events in her past.
Leif is the self proclaimed damaged boy who has convinced himself he can’t have what he wants………Mia.
Two characters that are a little bit broken but completely in love with one another.
Bring on the angst for days! (The push pull is absolutely edible.)
And the chemistry between these two is off the charts hot with some twists and turns to shake them up before they blissfully find themselves in their well earned HEA.
Well written, with a strong plot and memorable characters, I would highly recommend this book and any other book by this author.
She continues to impress!
New from the beautiful A.L. Jackson!
Oh my! This book is so intense and emotional! It pulled me right in and held me hostage and I could not put it down!
Mia West is Lyrik’s younger sister (Yes, that Lyrik from the band Sunder). She is a single mom whose life has been recently totally shaken up and now she is suffering fear, anxiety, and grief related to it. There may or may not be danger still following her so her brother has invited her and her children to stay at their Savannah house for the Summer.
Leif Godwin is the drummer for the band Carolina George. He is in a dark place, suffering from his past, dealing with guilt, and living for timely revenge. He fled LA a few years ago and has been laying low to a certain extent but he just could not give up music. When he is asked to fill in as drummer for Sunder on an album, it is another offer he cannot refuse. But it might allow his demons to know where to find him.
Summer in Savannah. These two make each other react in ways they cannot seem to control. Two people trying not to drown from the pain while avoiding threats that could be aimed at any of them. She makes him feel again but also ramps up guilt about his past. He tries to resist, but he also begins to want to be what he considers good enough for her, but doubts his ability to get there. She sees the good in him that he cannot and he is there as a protector when she needs one. They both have baggage. Their futures are a big question. They are combustible, undeniable, and inspire both hope and the fear of loss.
This book is so full of tension that it had me wound tight the whole time. There is a mystery about the past slowly unraveling. There is danger, and surprises and twists. This is a heartbreaking, intense, suspenseful, emotional, and inspiring story of hope, survival, and redemption.
I loved getting to spend more time with the boys of Sunder and their significant others and kids, especially Lyrik and Tamar. I am looking forward to more with Carolina George as the Falling Stars series continues and later with the possible Sunder kids’ spin-offs. I love this group and this world A.L. Jackson has created and it is so much fun to go back and visit.
Something I find myself thinking when I am reading a book by AL Jackson is that her words are a serenade. The care she takes with each one gives the book such an effortless, romantic movement. I could get lost in it all if there wasn’t a meticulously placed story that always seems to captivate me.
In her newest release, Kiss the Stars, we get some of the old with a lot of the new. The old being all the favorites from the Bleeding Stars Series as secondary characters. The new being Lyriks sister Mia as our heroine, and Leif, the drummer from that little band mentioned in AL Jacksons books, Caroline George.
Let me tell you, alpha hero’s might be hot AF but my god if I don’t love an angsty brooding rockstar. They sure are swoony. Yes, swoony. That might not be in Webster’s dictionary, but it’s in my smutty dictionary, and right beside it is a picture of Leif. SWOONY.
Reading Kiss the Stars reminded me of how I felt when I read A Stone in the Sea for the first time. All in my feelings and transported to a world I never wanted to leave. AL Jackson’s books just do something to my poet’s soul, and this one was everything that I needed.
*side note, I listened to this on audible as well. Andi Ardnt, hands down my favorite female narrator. At this point, I don’t know if the woman could do a bad narration. And Zachary Weber, well I think he has bad boy rockstar down to a science. Their narration together was perfect.
I loved it!
Going into this book I was so excited to be back into AL Jacksons world of music because the Bleeding Stars series was such an amazing series and when I heard we were getting a spin off, I couldn’t be happier.
Leif and Mia’s story is one filled with heartache, growth, passion and acceptance. ”
Neither of us owed the other anything. Yet somehow, it felt like I did. I owed her this—walking away. I knew better than to dip my fingers into places where real beauty lived.”
I mean wow! Amy’s ability to write such beauty and angst in a few short words is amazing. I felt that there were so many layers to their story, and I loved turning the pages to discover each and every one of them. There’s an ongoing element of danger, that keeps you on your toes. And there’s of course some shocking revelations, twists, and turns that you won’t believe. It is truly a heartbreaking, suspenseful, emotional, and inspirational story full of survival, redemption and honesty.
You want my honest? You should read this book!
I loved this book!! I have enjoyed many of AL Jackson’s books, her writing style is amazing and touches my heart with each new story. This story has lots of intrigue, angst, and drama that kept me on edge reading these pages as fast as I could. Leif and Mia both had such broken pasts with deep hurt neither were looking anything, both were hiding but they found each other. This connection heated up so fast the pages were steaming. Great characters and visiting with the Sunder crew just made this book so special.
The Sunder boys do it again. Lyrik is beyond sexy. Mia is so troubled and Lyrik is taking care of her and her children Being a great big brother. Leif is a hot sexy troubled drummer from another band but is helping them out while recording an album while Zee is with his family. Tamar, Lyrik’s wife is trying to hold them all together. It is filled with so many feels. I hated it to end. Loved Kiss the Stars-without the darkness you’d never see the stars.
Kiss the Stars is book one in the new Falling Stars series by Ms Jackson, and I’ve got mad love for this story and all of its wonderful characters!! The story takes us from the bright lights of LA, to the hot and steamy streets of Savannah. The story centers around Leif, the drummer from the band Carolina George who we get glimpses of in the A Stone in the Sea series, and Mia the amazing artist, mom and sister of Lyrik from the band Sunder. But to be clear, this is Leif and Mia’s story.
From the moment these two cross paths in a darkened room, the energy between them is palpable. Although they both leave the interaction without names, little do they know that fate will bring them back in each others lives very soon.
Leif and Mia have both experienced great sadness and loss in their lives, and are trying to move on when their lives intersect. The instant connection these two feel is undeniable, and with Leif living in such close proximity it makes it that much harder to stay away from each other. Leif’s past has left his heart shattered. He feels he is no good for Mia, but as she gets to know him, Mia sees the goodness in him and it is willing to fight for a piece of his heart, even knowing her own could be damaged beyond repair. Leif knows entering in a relationship with Mia, could possible bring danger to her door, but the fire that burns between them is to hot to burn out, and he knows he can’t walk away.
Ms Jackson is at her best with this compelling and angst filled story. Its an emotional journey that she takes you on, pulling you in from the very beginning, making your heart feel all the feels that these characters go through. I love how she makes the secondary characters an integral part of the story, making the relationships so much richer. I loved getting to see all of our favorite boys from Sunder, while getting a sneak peak of the Carolina George crew!
Thank you so much Amy for taking us back to the world of the Sunder Boys, now all “grown up” with their own families. This book tells the story of Lyrik’s sister Mia and Leif who meet at a party at her brother’s house in LA. Whew! the instant chemistry between these two is smokin’ and you just know this is going to be a super sexy rollercoaster ride of a story.
Mia is a single mother who witnessed her friend being killed in front of her in a seemingly senseless crime. To get some distance she escapes to her brother’s house in Savannah for the summer. To her shock and surprise who is already there but the talented but dark and moody Leif. He has reluctantly agreed to stand in for Sunder’s drummer for the recording of their new album.
Leif tries to fight his attraction to Mia because he does not want his past history to become his dangerous present putting Mia and her children in danger. But he cannot resist the sexy Mia who is determined to have him even though being with him could break her heart.
Though Leif tries his best to protect Mia and her kids he is unable to stop what is coming. When it finally does arrive to his horror he finds that Mia’s past is also entwined with his.
This is a scorching sexy love story, but it is also a scary, gritty thriller. It has a twist towards the end that you definitely do not see coming as there seem to be so many bad guys coming after Mia and Leif. It is so brilliantly written and totally “unputdownable.”
In this story, we follow Mia who is trying to recover from the horrible event that happened to her best friend. She tries to find solace with her brother, and is not expecting to meet Leif. Leif has his own bits and pieces going on and he is convinced that he doesn’t deserve happiness but he can’t seem to stay away from Mia.
The story is not one of of my favorites from Jackson. I had a hard time liking Leif. He is very difficult and there really isn’t much about him that I found redeeming. I am not a big fan of the brooding type and Leif is a big brooding type. As the story unfolds, we get to see what got him to that point and it is crazy. I also was not a big fan of how he strings Mia along. He is very much like the Katy Perry song, “Hot/Cold” and I just was not a big fan of it.
The story is a big predictable towards the end. The redeeming portion of the story is seeing the group as a whole. We catch up with the other couples from the other other books and it’s nice to see that they have gotten their HEA. Mia’s story is a horrible one. She witnessed her best friend getting killed and she has an ex who wants more then what she is trying to give him.
This author never fails to deliver a book beautifully written with all the feels and great characters that embed themselves in your soul. The power behind her words is intoxicating and addictive.
The connection between Leif and Mia was off the charts hot and palpable from the moment they met. They are both so guarded and have huge walls around themselves. They have demons from their pasts that they need to get past to be able to have a future.
AL Jackson did an amazing job with this storyline. It was well paced, filled with emotions and brilliant twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. It was lovely seeing some faces from my first ever book from her Bleeding Stars <3
This is the first book in the “Falling Stars” Series which is the spinoff from the previous and amazing “The Bleeding Stars” Series. This new series will center around Carolina George, an increasing popular country band.
And in this first book the story is about Leif, Carolina George’s drummer and Mia West, Lyrik’s sister from Sunder Band.
Both Mia and Leif have their own demons and when their worlds collide, the attraction is so powerful that both of them are incapable of fighting it….
The characters from the previous series are a great additiion and the book is a perfect read.
Ms Jackson writting style is also a plus. She has a way of phrasing the emotions and the feelings of her characters that you feel part of it!
Wonderful read!
As always, perfect
Kiss the Stars was an absolutely fantastic read. I was bombarded with so many feels as Mia and Leif stole my heart with their story.
These two were pure perfection together and every moment they were in the same space their connection seeped through every word spoken, look shared or caress. I loved how Mia and Leif were both there for one another as they each attempted to heal from the scars their past left them with. The angst, incendiary chemistry, and suspense woven throughout their story kept me hooked. Mia and Leif wove themselves so tightly around my heart that my emotions were all over the place. I laughed, shed a few tears, and fell hopelessly for these two as I hoped against hope that they would find something truly beautiful together.
Kiss the Stars was a captivatingly beautiful love story that drew me in from the first page. Moving and emotionally gripping Leif and Mia’s love story was a pageturner I couldn’t put down. Now I’m left wishing on a star that there’s more to come from Carolina George.
Prepare to be swept up in a whirlwind of emotions.
Leif thinks he doesn’t deserve love, and happiness after everything that’s happened in his past. Then, he meets Mia whose going through a recent trauma. Both their worlds get turned upside down.
I completely got lost in Leif and Mia’s intense chemistry, and loving hearts.
I received an ARC of this novel for an honest review.
A.L. Jackson is probably one of my top favorite authors. I’ve read quite a few of her books and I am always excited for a new release from her.
Kiss the Stars is a Falling Stars novel and I am really excited to see where this series goes from here. This series is a spin off of her Bleeding Stars series and I haven’t yet read that series, but officially now have them all on my TBR! I love a good angsty rockstar romance and these all seem to hit the box for that love.
Mia and Leif have a chemistry that is off the charts from the very first time they meet. They are both running and hiding from a past that is more intertwined than they even know. This single mom rockstar romance had me literally feeling CHILLS as I read it. From the very beginning, I was sucked in to the story, breathing it in and wanting more and more as the story went on.
These two set me on fire. The angst… the fight against their explosive chemistry… the suspense… it was all like a ticking time bomb. This book was a gorgeously written novel that made me want to go back and read it all over again once it was all said and done. Mia and Leif marked my soul in a way that I know will never leave me.
Five beautiful stars for this beautifully written romance that has you on the edge of your seat from the very start, fighting for them and for their love the entire time.
