What a fantastic, hilarious romance, an h that is down on all men and her luck, and an H that shows her with actions how a man should treat his lady…you also get the awesome girlfriends, the sleaze ball ex and the h and H making lemonade out of lemons.
Kiss the Girl is book three in the Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec. I just did finish this book and feel like gushing I loved it so much. Maybe it was even my favorite of the three. This series is a trio of fairy tale retellings. First we had Cinderella, next Beauty and the Beast, now we have Ariel and her very own prince charming, Eric. These are three women who have all hit rock bottom. Together they found friendship and support and came up with a way to regain their independence, to get their feet back under them again, by starting a stripping business.
Thanks to her ex-husband, Ariel Waters lost everything. During their years married, he slowly stripped her of every ounce of self confidence. Even now, when she looks in the mirror, she still sees the woman he told her she was, not good enough. Cindy and Belle are both dancing now for their business. But Ariel, even though she puts on a blustery show, is only doing the administrative duties for their business. She just can’t put herself out there. Now, on top of everything else, she is losing the only things she has left to call her own, her house and her antiques that she collected, because she couldn’t keep up the mortgage payments.
Ever since Ariel met Eric Sailor, it seemed like he did everything possible to antagonize her. So why is it that whenever he was anywhere near her, just the sound of his voice or the smell of his cologne would raise goosebumps? On the day when everything fell apart, it was Eric that seemed to know just the right thing to say and do to help her.
As Ariel gets to know Eric better, she sees the real Eric that she didn’t notice before. The good man, the man that really sees her! He makes her laugh, and he looks at her like she’s his everything.
But, the waters aren’t all smooth sailing for these two. This story also comes with an evil witch. And she does NOT want Ariel to get her happy ending. What Ariel does have, in addition to a man who adores her, is two best friends. And when things go down hill for Ariel, they are right there for her in the most hilarious of ways.
This story has everything. Ariel’s Dad is hilarious. And with these three women, there is constant craziness. There might even be some goat yoga involved!
Can you read this as a stand alone? Yes. But, then you wouldn’t really understand the closeness of these three women and what they have all gone through to get where they are now. I feel like this book was a little longer than the others? I’m not positive about that. What I am positive about is how much I loved it. I also loved the way Tara Sivec wrapped everything up with all three couples. It was perfect.
So get those one click fingers busy and get started on this series. Get to know Cindy, Belle and then Ariel and the men who love them. Prepare to laugh, sigh, swoon, maybe even cringe a time or two. And prepare to fall in love, just as I have.
3.5 Stars
Kiss the Girl is the third installment in the Naughty Princess Club. I didn’t read the first two in the series, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this one.
The series is a cool play on our favorite fairy tales with a modern day twist, strong female characters mixed with funny moments.
Ariel was a very interesting character. I honestly didn’t much care for her in the beginning. She was a bit over the top and rude. But as the story progresses, you get to see exactly why she is that way.
It’s just her shield to protect herself.
Eric was just the right person for her. He was smart, handsome and most importantly kind and persistent in his way to get to her heart.
He sees past her rough exterior and was patient with her (even though he did push her buttons. Haha!)
I finished this book last week. Last few chapter got me through labor. Yup, that’s right. It had me laughing through the pain.
If you like romantic comedies, this might be one you’d enjoy.
Do you enjoy an unconventional HEA? What about a reinvented fairy tale? Throw in some laughter, naughtiness, and a whole lot of perfectly written romance and you’re ready to meet the ladies of the Naughty Princess Club. The storyline is a bit unconventional, but the play on names, snarkiness of the characters, and perfect chemistry make you want the stories to go on and on and on.
Ariel and Eric are the new-age Little Mermaid tale with a twist. I thought Sivec pulled this series, but especially this book, off so well. She gave Ariel so much spunk and fire to match her red hair and all the alpha you wished the movie version of Eric had. They are perfectly opposite and beautifully matched – in wit, in spunk, and in the bedroom.
Any book that makes me want to read the entire series, laugh out loud, and want to jump my husband afterward certainly gets a recommendation in my book. They’re all fun, fast reads with the characteristic Sivec flair. You can’t go wrong in one-clicking this book or series!
This twist on the popular fairytale is a lighthearted and amusing read. The sarcasm goes a bit over the top for me and the story is a bit cheesy overall, but amusing nonetheless. While the author has created an absolutely swoon-worthy character in Eric, I did have trouble warming up to Ariel. I’m usually a big fan of sassy, speak your mind women in romance, but Ariel was often contrary just for the sake of being contrary. She does eventually show a somewhat softer side, and in the end, I could see her getting her prince, but my feelings about her played a big part in my middle of road rating of the book. The story is fast-paced and an interesting take on princesses and their Prince Charming’s, but this one ended up being just okay for me.
I have been enjoying the Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec so much! In Kiss the Girl she gives us Ariel’s story and I loved it! This time around we get a new take of The Little Mermaid that will leave readers happy and content!
Because of her ex-husband, Ariel is losing everything she worked hard for. Her ex left her feeling like less and she is struggling to find herself again. She has great friends, but her confidence is at rock bottom. Eric seems to push all her buttons, but as they get to know each other, she begins to see a different side of him. Yes, he is a rich and sexy and knows it, but there is so much more to this man. Add in her crazy and supportive friends, some other great secondary characters and an evil woman, and we get another great story!
I have really loved all three books in the series, but there was something about this one as I was reading it! I swooned, laughed and just enjoyed reading it! Three friends who found each other just when they needed the love and support of friends the most. With each other, they are able to stand on their own feet and find love. But it was really the strength of that friendship that got them where they wanted to be and I loved that! I would recommend all three books!

Happy reading!
Tara Sivec has been on TBR for a while so when I was offered this book, I decided to jump in.
I struggled with this book. Not because I had a hard time suspending my ideas of the Disney princesses and accepting that this version is profanity laden and a little raunchy but because Ariel had like zero qualities of nice person at all. During the first chapter I was like I don’t think I like her. By the third, I really didn’t like her an didn’t think I ever would. The best part of this book is Eric. He’s romantic and he does everything he can to empower Ariel.
I think I would have has a better appreciation of this book if I had read the first two books of this series first. I probably wouldn’t have been all that surprised by Ariel’s brash personality and also maybe, seeing her through her friends’ eyes, would have been able to see some positive qualities. I’m on the fence of whether I’ll read the other books in this series but this was a pretty interesting take on a fairy tale that we all know so well.
*This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
This was such a wonderful addition to the Naughty Princess Club series.
Ariel is struggling to come to terms that she may lose all of her precious treasures. She also is the only member of The Naughty Princess Club who hasn’t started stripping for their business. She has a lot going on and most of it is under the surface.
Eric is the rich guy who is always hanging around because he half owns the local strip club. He loves to rile Ariel up, and has no trouble pushing her buttons.
These two had a very sweet, electric, slow burn relationship. Eric was there for Ariel from the beginning and helped her overcome a lot of her issues and problems. The fact that he is able to slip beneath the wall she has built up without her noticing made for some very funny and romantic scenes.
Ariel has been my favorite princess. She has an over the top personality and says what she is thinking at all times. She is always pushing her friends to be better versions of themselves and trying to make everyone else’s lives better. She uses her big personality to mask her hurt, and it takes her awhile to realize that accepting help does not mean admitting defeat.
I love how Tara writes these stories. You can definitely picture the scenes taking place, and it is wonderful to see how three completely different personalities come together to overcome all odds.
-An ARC from NetGalley was provided in exchange for an honest review.-
This book had me fully on belly laughing. I thought the first two books in The Naughty Princess Club were funny, but Kiss the Girl exceeded the combined humor of At the Stroke of Midnight and In Bed with the Beast.
It was apparent from the first book that Ariel and Eric had high levels of sexual attraction. While Ariel’s bold, crass and vulgar demeanor could shock many people, it was clear from day one that Eric was immediately drawn to it. He thrives on it and loved pushing her buttons to see the fiery red head mouth off to him.
This was a great set up to the connect they had building between them. But when Ariel needs help, she’s surprised to find that Eric was the first two jump in and help her. As he slowly and methodically chipped away at the walls she hid behind, she begins to see him in a different light and noticed that he understands her on a level that not even her best friends do. This helps her in ways she least expected.
Ariel was the perfect heroine. Bold and independent, she strives to be her own savior. Vowing to not ever need a man to save her or be defined by him and Eric knows this and is her perfect match. He feeds her fire and build her confidence in ways she doesn’t even realize. He’s subtle and charming and gentle in all the ways that count.
This book was entertaining from start to finish. Once I started I couldn’t stop. I had to read it straight through and was sad it had to end.
I love this smart mouthed princess. Ariel has always been my favorite, and Kiss the Girl made me love her even more. So many laughs, and crazy shenanigans with this group. I wish there was more coming.
Eric and Ariel forever.
I LOVE the Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec, and I am sad to see it end, but WHAT a way to end! Kiss the Girl is all I hoped it would be – hilarious, entertaining, original, sexy and perfectly romantic. Ariel is sassy, outspoken and fierce, but she hides a sensitive, wounded heart underneath her cynical veneer that is yearning to be loved and appreciated by the right partner. Well, Eric is her ideal match in every way, and he helps her to find herself again and gain back her confidence. All three books in this series are highly unique and just a breath of fresh air. This romantic comedy at its best!
Cute, funny and sexy read. My first Naughty Princess Club book and I can’t wait to go read the first two in the series. Loved how feisty Ariel was.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
This series is so amazing! I have loved all three stories, but I think Ariel and Eric’s was my most anticipated – and it did not disappoint! So many laughs along this beautiful journey – it truly was perfect! The Naughty Princess Club series is one of my all time favorites! FIVE STARS!
I’m still laughing. I have to admit that Little Mermaid is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies and I love how Tara Sivec took this fairytale and spun it on its head to craft a sexy, fun romance. Ariel is a spit fire but found herself in a relationship that shot her confidence. Of course, her vocal filter didn’t get stopped, you just never know what she will say next. As she is trying to rebuild her life, she finds it crashing down around her and the most unlikely person steps in to help her. Eric, he has bee captivated by her from the first words she said to him, which I can’t repeat here. But Ariel is afraid to trust but Eric is smart, he slyly works to rebuild this amazing woman’s confidence. Will Ariel let her walls down and really let Eric in? At the same time, we get to experience this amazing friendship between Cindy, Belle and Ariel as the build the Naughty Princess Club business. Really just a fabulously funny, sexy and completely unexpected romance. I want to be the princess’s friend. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I had a hard time trying to rate this book. Some part I really liked and others not so much.
Okay, so I’m warning you right off the bat ..this is not your usual run of the mill story. And adults only need apply. The language and often the subject matter is definitely not for the young or faint of heart. And the names of some of the titles of each chapter probably should be rates R.
I wasn’t even sure I LIKED one of the M.C.’s at first. That would be Ariel, just to be clear. She was one angry chick. I’m not sure exactly how she managed to do it, but even in the midst of a mouthy melt down, she was often hilarious. I will say after seeing some of what life has dealt her, she has plenty of reasons to be angry.
But Ariel has two really good reasons to be happy when it comes to friends. Her friends, co-owners and workers of their business always have her back. Belle and Cynthia each have their own stories about how life and men has messed them up but we only get glimpses of it in this book. Why? Because they are happy now and you can read about there life before this in their own books. Ariel comes across as harsh, rude, hard and littered with the F bomb, but they see beyond just the surface and see the tender-hearted woman who is just trying to protect herself.
Enter in Eric, a gorgeous guy who gets two words from Ariel when they first meet. F*** off. Hmm, doesn’t sound encouraging does it? But the more she tries to tick him off, the bigger his smile gets. And some of his suggestive language to her. Doesn’t make him sound like a good guy does it? But he likes getting her riled, he really likes her kick butt take no prisoners attitude. And he doesn’t like it when her ex shows up trying to take that self confidence away from her. As you read the story, you begin to see that Eric actually does understand her better than just about anyone even her best friends. And it didn’t take me long to like him. Not that she wants any man’s help, men have been the bane of her life (her ex especially) She wants to get things done herself. One man who was a good guy other than Eric, was her father who was hilarious in the short times he showed up. In fact there was plenty of humor sprinkled throughout the book too.
There will be problems that will have to be overcome other than just Ariel’s self esteem issues. There is also a few other sneaky things going on too. BUT, there will be a H.E.A. with a Epilogue for each one of the ladies that should bring a smile to the readers face.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cover of this eBook. It’s so vibrant.
I received an ARC via Netgalley and this is my honest opinion of it.
This is a new author for me, and when I first started reading the story, wasn’t quite sure how things were going to go. But, I’ve got to tell you, the more I read, the more I laughed and the more I absolutely fell in love with this book and the characters. Ariel is a no BS kinda gal who speaks her mind and takes no prisoners. Eric is the multimillionaire who falls in love with her as soon as he sets eyes on her, but needs to bide his time until the time is right. I have so many favorite parts in this book, I can’t name them all, but the friendship Ariel, Cindy and Belle have made for some hysterical situations that left me rolling on the floor. Eric is the absolute perfect match for Ariel, and Derrick Alfredo, well what more can you say about a ball licking hairless cat? Really not one thing I didn’t like in this book, so if you’re looking for a sassy, hysterical, sexy, hot and steamy story, this is it for you. Very much worth the read, and I will definitely be reading more from this author!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Tara Sivec you rock! Your books should come with a warning label that says” do not read in public for fear of laughing out loud excessively”. The book is filled with some of the craziest combinations of words I have ever seen but they are the heights of hilarity. The characters are indescribable funny and witty. I could read this everyday and not be bored.
F-U-N! I had so much FUN reading this book I laughed from the beginning to the end. My husband just shook his head and smiled as I giggled my way through this one. This is a re-telling of The Little Mermaid or at least I think so since my kids didn’t have that Disney movie (I know bad mom) and so I never saw it but I get the gist of it from this. Ariel Waters is a collector of antiques but she has been evicted from her home and her antiques are gone with her home. Eric Sailor comes to her rescue with a place to stay, much to her very foul-mouth dismay. Oh my does she have a potty mouth! but it is quite endearing and Eric is such a goner for her and her ways. Ariel, along with Belle and Cindy (from the previous two books in the series) have started a home stripping company (they come to your home party and strip), although their business license is not coming through. There is a wicked witch in the mix and an ex-husband (sort of) and all sorts of other fun stuff. Again, LOTS OF FUN! I definitely recommend this one. It can be read as a standalone.
***5 ‘You Are Goals, Dude’ Stars***
Can you be nursing a headache and still adore the book you just finished, even though it’s kinda the books fault you have the headache???
My answer is apparently because that’s what happened here. I mean going in I prepared myself for the crazy, and did my best to prepare for the craycray that is Ariel, but whoa it took me a minute to get settled and the headache down to a dull roar instead of a pulsating sonic boom in my head. But once I did, and once things started to unfold I found this book to be addicting in all it’s batshit crazy with a good dose of heartwarming & swoon worthy goodness tossed in the mix to keep things interesting.
Ariel. Here’s the thing about Ms. Ariel. I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count how many times I wanted to reach out and gag the woman. Hand to God, I was looking for a ball gag and duct tape but in the same moment I couldn’t help but be kind of in awe of her. I mean the woman comes up with some pretty good lines and though she is abrasive, it’s cause she cares. But in the end, I kinda adored her. Finding out all her truths and finally seeing her heart had me wanting to hang out with the woman (thought I’d still have the duct tape on me…just in case.)
Eric was an absolute and swoon worthy surprise. He still had his moments where I wanted to take a 2×4 to his head, but when the reason behind those moments came to light…SWOON. The man is simply a good man, a little craycray and very brave. But a damn good man.
To say their journey to their HEA is rocky is an understatement, most of which was due to Ariel. And there were moments where I questioned Eric’s sanity. But in the end I loved them together. There was a strange kind of flow to them that worked for me and once they got past the antagonistic portion of their relationship, they rocked. The smexy was HAWT and the swoons were real and in the end they were a perfect fit for each other.
I must say that I really liked how Ms. Sivec took the Little Mermaid fairytale and made it her own. All of the elements are there, but there are a few things thrown in that had me go “Wait a minute, what?” but in a good way. PJ, Cindy, Belle and Vincent are very much apart of the story and I really enjoyed catching up with them and seeing how they’ve all evolved. Anastasia brings in her own special brand of teenage-itis, and there were a couple of new characters I really liked. And though I’m sad that this is the end, that epilogue was absolutely perfect! So, if you’re in the mood for some OTT crazy, then this is the one for you!

Kiss The Girl is SO MUCH FUN!! I needed a funny story to get me out of a book hangover and this was perfect..
It’s a Little Mermaid fairytale retelling with strippers and sexy times!!
“…the way he’s looking at me right now. Like he’s amazed. Like he’s grateful. Like I’m the best thing that’s ever told him to eat sh*! and die.”
Ariel is a sarcastic mouthy B- aitch with attitude for miles. Tough times seem to be snowballing and piling up one thing on top of another. Ariel is hiding her pain and scars under a hard exterior and trying to prove that she is a strong woman.
“I’m crying because of a guy. A GUY. An annoying, sweet, charming, hot, funny guy who Kool-Aid-man smashed his way through all the walls I built around myself without my even knowing it.”
Eric kind of swoops in. He quietly leads Ariel toward healing herself. He helps her to see that she can be in control of her own destiny.
“…but he’s been texting me nonstop, sending me pictures of Derrick Alfredo. Dozens of pictures of his devil cat wearing one ridiculous sweater after another, asking me which one makes him look the manliest. The hell beast is growing on me. And so is the cat.”
Kiss The Girl is the third book in The Naughty Princess Club series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but the characters from the previous books do play a large part in this story. This was my first book in this series, but I will immediately be picking up the first two books and catching up!!
