A struggling antiques collector finds herself falling in love with a millionaire playboy; but can she ever be a part of his world? Meet the Naughty Princess Club, a series from USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec that brings readers to Fairytale Lane and the hilarity–and romance–that three women fall into once they decide to strut their stuff and bring on their own happily ever after. While … ever after.
While her friends have broken free of their insecurities, Ariel Waters is struggling to come out of her shell. Her ex-husband took away her voice and her self-confidence, and Ariel is drowning under a sea of debt to afford the alimony she has to pay him. She refuses to ever fall for a man’s charms again, and is determined to make her own way.
When her house and her beloved antiques are taken by the bank after too many missed payments, Ariel finds herself adrift until the infuriatingly charming Eric Sailor comes to her rescue. Although she can’t stand the millionaire playboy, Eric’s kindness and unconditional support reveal hidden depths and a love that Ariel never imagined she could find.
But there are outside influences who will stop at nothing to keep them apart; can Ariel and Eric weather the storm and find a way to be together in Kiss the Girl?

Kiss the girl is a quirky sassy story! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
My first book by Tara Sivec and it has me wanting to read more. This story of Ariel and Eric is one of a smart mouth women who hits rock bottom and the guy who sweeps in and helps to realize how strong she truly is. Eric helps Ariel to see that she is truly a confident woman. The antics that these deal with from the balled cat to the mother who tries to blackmail Ariel helps to make this a laugh out loud great story!
I love love LOVED Kiss the Girl. I’ve been waiting for Ariel’s story since shortly after meeting her in At the Stroke of Midnight and it was totally worth the wait. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Cindy and Belle’s books too, but Ariel’s sassy self intrigued me and I couldn’t wait to see what happened with the sparks really started flying between her and Eric.
I don’t read all that many retellings these days, but the Naughty Princess Club hooked me from the very start. I loved these characters and the setting, the laughs and the romance. It’s been a long time since I read a book that made me laugh as much as the three in this series did. As much as I loved the romance, I loved the friendships between the ladies just as much. Forget your frienemies books, give me all the books with great female friendships. Cindy, Belle and Ariel were each fantastic in their own way and a force to be reckoned with when they banded together. The men of the Naughty Princess Club series were no slouches either. It’s possible Eric is my favorite, but I don’t want to say that too loudly as I loved the other guys, too.
Kiss the Girl was everything I wanted in a book and more. I literally laughed out loud more times than I can count. But, I also had a fair number of feels along the way. There was a lot more to Ariel than what you see on the outside and I appreciated the vulnerability underneath her hard exterior. My feels had feels of their own more than once or twice along the way. Ariel and Eric had oodles of chemistry and I enjoyed their “hate” to love relationship. Did I mention it was sexy, too? Because it was. Like I said, perfect book.
Now that I consider myself a Tara Sivec fangirl, I need to make time to tackle her backlist. I’m not sure why I waited so long to read any of her books, but now I want to read them all. It should be a really fun book binge when I get around to it.
FAVORITE QUOTES
“I do not have a boyfriend and I will never have a boyfriend. Stop trying to get me on the boyfriend train just because you found the one guy in the entire world who is sweet and romantic and loves you for who you are.”
“Piss off. I’m not difficult. I’m a fucking delight.”
My love for antiques wasn’t something I was born with. It showed up in my life at a time when I needed something to make me happy. I couldn’t rescue myself, so I rescued things.
“Did you know that out of the one thousand two hundred and thirty-five romance books we carry at the library, six hundred and seventy of them are about a romance between neighbors? That’s a startling statistic. You should love thy neighbor, Ariel. It says so in the bible.”
“The fact that you got paired up with a goat named Princess Sassy Pants who is giving you a run for your money in the attitude department is nothing but pure enjoyment for me.”
You are the rarest antique I’ve ever seen, and I want to spend the rest of my life making sure you know how perfectly imperfect and extraordinary you are.
This is the first book I’ve read in the Naughty Princess Club series. It was cute, funny and tad over the top but perfect for the story line! Eric is as dreamy as ever! Ariel is a sassy mouthed carb eating goof! The two are put in an unforeseen circumstance that could make or break them! I enjoyed this cute adult version of my favorite childhood movie.
The last book in the series is Ariel’s story but we still get more of Cindy and Bell. I hated the thought of this being the last book in the series. Each girl had a great story of how they took the plunge and participated in the business.
Ariel’s story is sassy, funny and I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to read what funny sassy words would come out of Ariel’s mouth.
I never would have thought Eric was like her but the two of them together made the story. He competed her.
Kiss the girl is a laugh out load story with just the right amount of romance. Another great funny and romantic story by Tara Sivec.
Meeting Ariel and Eric was a bit different and refreshing. They are the first couple that I have met in this series. I look forward to getting know more of the other two couples and seeing this all from the beginning. I had so much fun with Eric and Ariel. At time I found her to be a challenge, but then I look at the stress and strife in her life. And what lead her to the decisions she made. She needed someone in her life that understood that and with Eric I think he saw a lot more of her than she was comfortable showing to her club members.
This story was reminiscent of the Disney Fairytale, but that was about the depth of it. This princess was in no way sweet, meek, proper, or overly respectful. Ariel was foul mouth, short tempered and a bit of a rebel, but that was all a mask. There were further depths to Ariel. Eric was strong and wiling to see past all that Ariel threw out there for others to see.
It takes a person strong of character and self-confidence to see past the facade that Ariel put in place. There was a strong cast of characters and friendships. I very much enjoyed this read and would most certainly read it again. Preferably after I have read the other two. I was swept up in a fun afternoon of entertainment.
Naughty Princess Club series:
At the Stroke of Midnight
In Bed with the Beast
Kiss the Girl
I’m so in love with this series, just like when I was a little girl falling in love with the clean version of happily ever afters. Ariel is my favorite character in this series. I loved reading about what made her into the sassy princess that she is and seeing her vulnerable side. Eric was a perfect prince, patient and charming. I was really surprised with the turn of events and I loved how all the women banded together to be a fierce team. I hope there are more fairytales to come.
I can’t get over the creativity of The Naughty Princess Series by Tara Sivec . While you don’t have to, I highly suggest you read the books in order. I loved At The Stroke of Midnight, but I never saw Cinderella, so I didn’t catch all the clever little details Tara worked in. I recently saw the live action Beauty and the Beast, so when I read In Bed with The Beast I was really able to pick out all the inventive similarities in Belle’s book. Well, being a mom of boys, and already an adult when The Little Mermaid came out, I never saw that movie either. Sadly it is in the Disney Vault, so I had to work for it but finally borrowed a copy from a friend. I am SO GLAD I did because I just can’t get over all of the adorable similarities that Tara worked into Kiss The Girl .
“Fairy tales don’t happen in real life. Shit. Forget I said that. They happened to both of my friends. Let’s just say they don’t happen to me and I’m fine with that. F-I-N-E, fine.”
Ariel is the tough, brash, wild one of the three women who open an at-home stripping business together. I’ve said it from the beginning, this series is like Bad Moms meet Disney Princesses (even though only one is a mom).

See the one on the right? Well, that would be Ariel.
“Then for the love of God, why in the actual f*ck are you calling me? Hang up and text me like a normal person or I will slit your throat.”
This is typical Ariel, and Eric is totally into the prickly beauty. Ariel ‘hates’ him, yet she has a tough time not smelling him and getting goosebumps when he’s around.
“I am not a woman who needs to be saved by a man. I am not a woman whose heart goes all aflutter when a hot guy shows her attention. Especially a hot guy like Eric, with his annoying flirting and boy-next-door charm.”
But when her house gets foreclosed on with all of her precious antiques inside, Ariel’s tough exterior starts to crack, and Eric Sailor was right there to pick her right back up.
“Seeing you broken and hurting and sad is like having someone stick a f*cking knife in my chest. I don’t like it. So I’m pissing you off because it brings me great joy to see you fired up.”
Ariel had a lot more behind her brusque personality than we knew. That mouth covered some MAJOR insecurities and self-esteem issues, and it was wonderful to see Eric give her some of that confidence back.
“I swear to Christ if you say you’re too heavy, I will walk you out on the deck and toss you overboard,” he mutters angrily, tightening his arms around my back and under my legs as he hugs me tighter to his chest, carrying me like I weigh no more than a feather. “You’re perfect. Everything about you is f*cking perfect.”
I have a ridiculous amount of quotes from this book. From laugh-out-loud moments (Goga anyone?) to snarky one-liners (Crocs! lol!) amazing friendship moments, to wonderfully sweet moments. This book had it all. Eric was one of my favorite book boyfriends ever. The way he helped Ariel build herself up instead of doing it for her could not have been more perfect.
“You’re the rarest antique I’ve ever seen, and I want to spend the rest of my life making sure you know how perfectly imperfect and extraordinary you are.”
Tara did a great job wrapping this series up in the epilogue, and I’m so sad we won’t get Pocahontas or Frozen, because I just loved the little movie tie-ins, they were genius.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how much I loved the wonderful, supportive friendship between the women.
“In this day and age, it’s a beautiful thing to see women working together instead of trying to tear each other down.”
Likes:
•Tara Sivec’s brand of snarky humor just totally works for me.
•The clever tie-ins to the Disney movies (so many!). You don’t have to have seen the movies, but let me tell you, you really appreciate Tara’s creative gift more when you catch them all.
•Eric. Sigh….he could not have been more perfect for Ariel. I loved the way he let her figure it out with his help. He was so patient and perfect.
•How Tara was really able to address some important and emotional women’s issues in a fun way.
•The friendship between the three women.
•So many great quotes and snarky jokes I highlighted!
•This was the most emotional of the three.
•The series ending epilogue.

There really isn’t anything I can think of!
The Down & Dirty:
Kiss The Girl is my favorite of the three books in the series, and that’s saying a lot because they are all 5 stars. Out of 125 books a year, only about 10 or less get 5 stars, but in this series all three did. The combination of Tara’s snarky, immature humor and hot and sexy fairytale romance with heart, mixed with tons of details from the Disney princess movies made this series one of the most creative I have read. Kiss the Girl kind of hit closer to home for me because I struggle with my self-esteem and I totally got Ariel. I loved seeing her start to heal with Eric. One of the things I enjoy so much about Tara’s romcoms are the friendships between the characters, and this series had it in spades. I want to be best friends with them! The Naughty Princess series is empowering, fun, sexy, romantic, and ridiculously clever. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
**AUDIOBOOK NOTE: I read the first book then listened and CJ Bloom could not have been a better narrator choice. I loved the way she had a different voice for each woman. I can’t wait to listen to the rest on audio as a re-read!
Rating: 5+ stars, 4 heat

Finally we get to the bottom of the brash, aloof rage-aholic known as Ariel. This little mermaid is going to rock your fish tank.
Once upon a time, Tara Sivec has a wildly entertaining idea. Three books later she still has me giggling like a school girl, wanting to download snapshot and follow a ragey teen, and find my own Disney-esque Prince.
Kiss The Girl is sweet romance with a sea witch, a king, and sailor. It’s got naughty make out sessions, random facts, and spreadsheets. Clearly, Ms. Sivec brought the sexy.
Once upon a time three naughty princesses made a date and here is the culmination of that momentous occasion.
Ariel had always been confident, gutsy and strong. You’d never know she actually had very low self-esteem, thanks to her ex-husband. When she lost everything and was feeling particularly bad about herself, Eric wanted to help her see her true value. Even though she didn’t think much of Eric and had repeatedly told him off – never mincing words – he had always admired and been attracted to her. It didn’t help his case that she didn’t trust men anymore.
I absolutely loved the characters in this book. Could Eric be more perfect? I don’t think so. He actually loves Ariel for who she is and doesn’t want to change anything about her. All 3 of the naughty princesses are fantastic. They are all strong, independent women who work hard and find love.
This book had me chuckling just like the others in this series did. The chemistry between Eric and Ariel was strong but not over-the-top. I liked that this story was sexy but not erotic.
Are you looking for a romantic comedy with laugh-out-loud moments? Kiss The Girl is it.
If you’re looking for romantic comedy that’s truly funny, look no further than The Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec. Kiss the Girl is my first read in the series, but I’ll be going back to meet Cindy and Belle! I laughed so much with, and at, Ariel, she really is such a unique character in the rom-com world. She doesn’t take herself or anyone else too seriously, her language is colorful, and she’s curvier than the usual rom-com heroine is presented as. I really liked her spunk, even if some of her reactions were over the top and not something I could even really picture.
The book, though a rom-com, focuses more on the friendship and strength of three best friends and the steps they take to free themselves from bad relationships. These women at one point felt lesser, but have since taken charge. They own a business, they find love, but mostly they find strength in just being themselves. In Ariel’s case, she’s learned needing and having a man aren’t so bad, as long as he supports and loves you and puts up with your crazy antics. I loved how Tara Sivec put a lot of emphasis on confidence in Ariel’s book, showing her overcoming her issues with her weight, embracing her love of food, finding a man who loves her as she is, and realizing that her insecurity is something she’s built up within herself.
If you’re looking for fun, easy reads with romance and strong female characters, look no further than The Naughty Princess Club series. These books are such a nice break from my usual reading and I loved Ariel and Eric, even more than I might like the original couple they parody.
Kiss the Girl was laugh-out-loud funny, sweet and empowering, I loved everything about it! This was everything I could have wanted and so much more. It’s exciting and inviting with these amazing characters and it was just super fun to read.
This isn’t your childhood fairytale!
If this story really took place Under the Sea, the oceans would be boiling with all the heat generated between Ariel and Eric! I absolutely fell in love with Eric right from the start. His unwavering devotion to Ariel was downright swoon-worthy, especially since it was quite a while before she started deserving it.
Ariel’s life is imploding after her marriage shredded her confidence. Eric knows exactly what to do to help her find her voice again, and his patience is exceeded only by his fierce passion for every part of her life.
This hilarious story is more than just a romantic fairytale. Told entirely from Ariel’s POV, her inner monologue is witty and insightful at the same time. Some of the lines had me snort-laughing so much I had to stop reading for a while.
The author worked some true magic with her words, bringing so much heart and humor to what might otherwise have been a predictable story. The nods to the original source material are creative and ingenious, without ever straying from a realistic foundation.
Brilliantly written, this story was pure romance gold. It’s found a permanent place on my reread list. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Ariel is known for her gruff manner and foul mouth and she displays her abilities in their finest of lights when anyone crosses her, maybe even dares to breath near her… Ariel finds herself evicted from her home with all her precious collections locked inside after blissfully ignoring all the warning, certified letters are warnings right? In rides her prince charming, or rather Prince Hot Stuff or so he’s titled himself, I meant he only has muscled arms and panty melting dimples oh and a yacht she can live on, no big deal. I loved their witty banter and insults Ariel flings at Eric, it had my sides splitting!
I love the modern take on a fairy tale!
The Little Mermaid or in this book Kiss the Girl or is one of my favorite fairytales because I identify with the brash girl who collects precious things, in my case it’s books. I’ve devoured this contemporary adaptation of this trio of Cinderella, Belle and Ariel. They nod to the characters and keep loosely to the storyline with Sivec’s unique naughty comedic wit! Who would have thunk to make these young women strippers? We get our HEA and a lap dance! I love it!
In the previous books Ariel has been the driving force and a huge comedic relief, but in her own book things are getting real in her life and she’s not dealing very well. Thank goodness for her bff’s and that rascal Eric who always seem to know the best way to rescue Ariel until she can do it for herself. I felt her helplessness when confronted with the huge issues that have piled so high that there are very real consequences. Eric seems to know just the right way to aggravate her to pull her back to being herself when she’s crumbling.
It’s easy to see why Eric is drawn to Ariel with the woman who raised him being so much like her. He’s got a good heart, not just everyone would bring home a hairless cat, poker winnings or not! Derrick Alfredo is hysterical and a welcome distraction for this couple who as they circle each other. I would have enjoyed Eric’s POV, his quick wit and smart mouth would have been very welcome.
There are plenty of outside influences keeping Ariel upset and on edge. I loved her posse going to handle her ex and the antics of her father. I was laughing out loud so many times throughout the book. The common theme in each book is these girls are down but not out and with a little help from their friends and support from a good man they can fix their own lives. The epilogue wrapped up the first two books into a nice meet package. I’m sad the trilogy is complete, I hope down the road Sivec revisits these characters!
Kiss the Girl is one of the best rom-coms I have read in what feels like forever!
It is the third book in a series of standalones in the Naughty Princess Club series. You do not have to read the other books in the series in order to enjoy this one. In fact, this was the first book that I have read in the series, and I loved it!
This modern day retelling of The Little Mermaid was absolute perfection from beginning to end.
Ariel is a self-sufficient woman who can stand on her own two feet, and in her words, “does not need a man to stand up for her or defend her.” She is the perfect mix of inner strength and smarts. I cannot tell you how many times my friends and I have complained about there not being strong heroines in books. THIS IS THE GIRL WE’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!
And Eric complements her perfectly. He understands her need for independence and space, and allows her to have it. More book heroes should be like this. He also gets her crazy personality and temper. At one point Eric tells Ariel that he loves to see her fired up because it’s so attractive to him. **swoon**
I won’t spoil the story at all, but if you love a strong heroine and a hot, sweet hero, then Kiss the Girl is for you!
Kiss the Girl is the final book in the trilogy of Tara Sivec’s Naughty Princess Club Trilogy. While book one features Cindy (Cinderella) and the second book features Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Kiss the Girl features Ariel and Eric’s story. Any fan of “The Little Mermaid” should love this book. There are so many cute references to Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” while at the same time providing you with an original story about a sassy, foul-mouthed woman and the man determined to love her.
This book is full of so many laugh-out-loud moments and while I loved each book, I think this one was my favorite. Ariel has been a hilarious and outspoken character in each of the books, but this book shows her story, her past and explains why she is the way she is, while continuing the themes of friendship, romance, entrepreneurship, body positivity and strong female characters weaved throughout the trilogy. And Eric! I must mention how swoon-worthy Eric is in this book as well as the steamy hot chemistry he and Ariel share.
I so enjoyed the witty banter and hilarious escapades included in this book that I read it twice before it was even released to the public! If author Tara Sivec decides to add to this series, I can only imagine the wealth of characters and storylines she can come up with for more princesses, and I will be the first to sign up to read them! This book earns a solid 5 stars from me.
I loved this book!!! It made me laugh so much. Ariel is a spitfire! She’s sarcastic, sassy and has little filter. Basically if she was one of your friends you wouldn’t want to put her on speaker phone, lol. Eric was the perfect balance to her. Loved that he didn’t try to change her or calm it down. He truly loved her for who she was, embraced her crazy side and pushed her in all the right ways to really truly see herself. This book was funny, sexy, steamy and had a great message. Plus Tara Sivec did a great job incorporating all the components of The Little Mermaid. This was my first book from The Naughty Princess Club and I can’t wait to go and read the first two books! Highly recommend this book, it’s a must read!
This was my first Tara Sivec book, and definitely not my last. I don’t usually read blurbs, so I had an idea that it was a retelling of The Little Mermaid, but not much else. The first couple of pages were shocking…I thought I was reading make dialog. Nope, that was Ariel. She was loud, sarcastic and could curse like a sailor (no pun intended). Okay…so this was like no other fairytale retelling that I ever read. I kept reading…and I did a lot of hysterical laughing, slight groaning (Triton, the C King for one) but even the over-the-top stuff made it fun to read. I swooned for Eric. He was sweet, so patient, but a little naughty…and I loved that. I’m thrilled that Ariel’s friends Cindy and Belle have their own stories for me to go back and read.
Ariel was quite the foul mouthed, prickly character and I loved every minute of it. She’s had some hard knocks the past few years which landed her at the mercy of Eric, her super charming archenemy. The entire situation sets up for hilarious scenes and some fantastic banter between them. I found myself in fits of laughter several times during the book.
Ariel has this tough exterior and I thoroughly enjoyed how Eric was able to crack that and help her get her mojo back. Out of all three books this happens to be my personal favorite. Besides all of the laughs, there were several swoon worthy moments that gave me some serious warm fuzzies.
Sivecs modern spin on these classic fairytales hit all the right buttons for me. They’re funny, lighthearted, romantic and I honestly can get enough. Bravo, I absolutely loved this entire series.
From the moment I started reading this book, the song “Kiss The Girl” from Little Mermaid kept playing in my head. Ariel is a kick-ass woman who has hit rock bottom. Instead of wallowing, with the help from her gal pals, she begins to put her life back together. She does have some help from Hot Prince Eric. The two of them take flirting to a new level. Who knew that insults can be so much fun. When all is said and done, it is all about girl power.
