OhMy Wowzers. I don’t know what to say, but Read this book if you haven’t yet. I love Conall and Thea, but Fionn and Rose are up there too. I absolutely love and enjoyed reading this book. It had me hooked from start to finish. Fionn and Thea’s connection are you epic. Like I said it before and I’m going to say it again. I’m stoked that Samantha is back writing Supernatural books again. I can’t wait to read whatever she releases next.
Rose was sharp edges, keen wit, and had a ‘don’t mess with me’ attitude I adored. Fionn was intelligent, had a warrior physique and GQ style, and holy smokes the man kept secrets from Rose, but he could resist telling her everything expect what she needed to know most! The relationship was interesting because Fionn and Rose didn’t start as equals, but Rose took the reigns quickly, surpassing Fionn at times with her strength. However, the whole fated mates bit was having a good laugh as these two fought what they instinctively wanted to embrace. A captivating read from beginning to end, I can’t wait to see more of these two in the Tempted By Fae Anthology!
And who else is ready for an immortal werewolf to meet his fate mate?!
KISS OF VENGEANCE is the second instalment in S. Young’s (Samantha Young) contemporary, adult, TRUE IMMORTALITY paranormal, fantasy romance series. This is Fionn Mor, and Rose Kelly’s story line. KISS OF VENGEANCE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from several third person perspectives including Fionn and Rose KISS OF VENGEANCE follows the once high king of Ireland Fionn Mor as he seeks revenge against the Queen of the Fae. Hundreds of years earlier, a then human Fionn was imprisoned by Aine, the Queen of the Fae. For six years our hero was forced into servitude and turned Fae against his wishes. Desperate for revenge, Fionn goes in search of one of the few remaining Fae on Earth, a Fae whose blood is the key to opening the portal to the land of the Fae. Enter Rose Kelly, a twenty-five year old woman who struggles with her place in the world, but a woman who is unaware of her supernatural heritage. What ensues is the back and forth, building relationship between Rose and Fionn, and the potential fall-out when Rose discovers the truth about Fionn, and his intentions towards the woman with whom he will fall in love.
Rose Kelly has been spelled by powerful magic, and it will take an attack by another supernatural being to release the spell that has buried her magic deep and asleep. As she and Fionn flee across Europe in an effort to remain one step ahead of the werewolves and witches, Rose’s powers will manifest beyond anything anyone could have imagined. Fionn Mor has not been truthful about his reasons for ‘protecting’ our story line heroine, reasons that are selfish and potentially fatal for Rose Kelly. When the truth is revealed Rose pushes Fionn out of her life but Fionn struggles as he knows Rose is his mate. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful supernatural characters including Fionn’s best friend and vampire Brannigan aka Bran; Niamh and her brother /human Ronan Farren; powerful werewolf Kiya; numerous witches, warlocks, and magical beings; as well as the return of werewolf pack leader Conan and his mate Thea (War of Hearts #1).
KISS OF VENGEANCE is a detailed and energetic story of secrets and lies; betrayal and revenge. The character driven premise is enchanting; the characters are numerous and dynamic; the romance is spicy but struggles in the face of secrets and lies.
If you need some PNR in your life, S. Young has a new book!
It’s no secret that I love PNR romance. Whenever I need a palette cleanser, this is my go-t0 and Young does not disappoint. This is a slow-burn romance between Fionn Mór and Rose Kelly.
The secrets, the action-packed adventure, the possibility of something more between these two characters who had such an undeniable connection kept me glued to my kindle. I am IN LOVE with this series and it is a must-read for PNR fans… Young’s words are simply magical.
Kiss of Vengeance by S. Young is book two in the True Immortality Series.
Every book in this series is a stand-alone with some cross-overs, easily to read as stand-alone.
The previous story is War of Hearts and tells Thea and Conall’s fantastic pnr story.
Kiss of Vengeance is Rose and Fionn’s story.
Rose is a woman in her twenties, a free spirit, for years she’s travelling through the world. Her rents wants her back home, but she’s looking for something.
Fionn is a immortal milleniums old fae , former warrior who’s driven by revenge. No sacrifice is too big for him.
He was looking for Rose and when he finds her in eastern Europe she ian’t what he eypected. She’s more, feisty and self concious, a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. A female character I connected very easily with.
The writing is more than excellent, the outstanding author of On Dublin Street nailed this book too, just like the previous one, War of Hearts.
I highly recommend the book and the series, 5 stars.
A slow-burn, paranormal romance to capture your heart and attention!
Paranormal fans…this one is a MUST!
“So well written and superbly detailed, making it both evocative and compelling to read.” – Totally Booked
Amazing slow burn paranormal, Fionn and Rose, he wants revenge she’s a nomad looking for something. They both overcome more than they thought possible, she shows him how to love, an epic journey where they uncover more than they thought. Amazing world building and I loved the characters. A great read for everyone that loves this trope. 5 Brilliant stars!
Sizzling and captivating, I couldn’t get enough.
3.5 Stars
Kiss of Vengeance follows on from War of Hearts, it was my first paranormal story to have read by this author, and after loving Conall and Thea’s story so much I was hoping that this story would be just as outstanding as the first, it hurts me to say that this was not the case, don’t get me wrong I did enjoy this story but it did lack some of the fiery build up between its two main characters and it was a little slow at the start. I found that the story dragged in a few places but if you just push on through those parts you do still have a book with a good plot and a nice romance, even though it was on the backburner for a little too long, but hey that’s just my opinion.
Fionn was a stubborn character for most of the book and his mission of revenge did start to grate on my nerves a little and as for Rose I felt that she was a little too needy of him and gave in to him far to fast, even trusting him right for the start. As a romantic couple they did have a very good fit but I was waiting for a little more passion and fire from them earlier in the story and when it did come it wasn’t what I was expecting or hoping for.
The story was a great idea I just dont think it was executed as well as it could have been and so I felt it was lacking in the suspense and drama that we got from War of Hearts and as that story totally blew me away I was a little disappointed that this one just didn’t give me the same feeling of having read an amazing book. I will still keep reading this series as I do want to know what happens next for the character that are a part of this paranormal world.
A gorgeous paranormal romance with an amazing slow burn. You want this book!
This book was slow and anticlimactic. Although I didn’t love the story, I did love Fionn and Rose. And I’m very much looking forward to the next book.
I devoured this book and could not put it down. From the first page I was pulled back into the paranormal world S. Young has created. We meet Rose, a young woman who have been wandering different places around the world trying to to find the missing piece inside of her. Then enters Fionn, the tall, drink of water viking. Fionn has been on a path that he has set in motion and determined to finish was he started. When these two meet, we are pulled into their connection, which they try to avoid, and go on a crazy adventure. This story pulls you in and you immediately feel part of the story and the journey that Fionn and Rose are on. Read this book, you will fall for Fionn and Rose, and see what happens with these two on their journey
Another good story. It was full of adventure. I definitely recommend this book and this author.
5 stars!
OMG, what a read! Exciting, intense, fun and action-packed with a slow-burning, chemistry-filled romance that had me madly flipping pages. I could not put this book down, and I absolutely loved it!
This book is the second in the True Immortality series. You don’t need to have read the first book, War of Hearts, in order to follow this one, but I would recommend it. Not only does this book contain spoilers for the first book, but it will help you understand the complex paranormal world. Plus it’s a fantastic read, so why would you want to skip it?
This is Fionn’s story. Readers from the first book will remember him as the Irish warrior king who was captured and turned Fae, only to escape his captivity to face heartbreaking betrayal. Thousands of years later he is the oldest being on the planet, powerful, immortal, and determined to find a way to open the gates to Faerie so that he can have his revenge on the evil Fae queen.
Rose Kelly is a nomadic 20-something travelling around Europe searching for something. She doesn’t know what, she just knows that something is missing, so she travels from city to city, avoiding connections and waiting to feel whole. Her life takes a dramatic twist when she is attacked by a vampire, and a subsequent bump on the head releases a spell that was placed on her years ago, unlocking powers she never knew she had. With no clue what she is or what powers she has, it is Fionn who comes to her rescue.
“He wasn’t even a man.
He was a six-foot-seven behemoth of hotness.”
Fionn saves her life that night and he takes Rose under his wing, offering to help her. With nobody else to turn to and with Fionn seeming to have the answers to all of her questions, Rose joins him on his mission to track down a mysterious artefact, all while avoiding the various bad guys who are after them. And from almost the first moment, sparks fly.
“Fionn was a stranger.
Even if he didn’t feel like one.
Even if he felt like that elusive something she’d been searching for her whole life.”
“Rose had never been one to fantasize about guys and romance … but she couldn’t help her thoughts as she watched her delicious mentor sleep, his handsome face appearing younger in rest. She couldn’t help but imagine that her future on the run might not be so desolate if she had someone who excited her by her side.”
It’s fun and exciting, and their mentor/trainee relationship sizzles with sexual tension. There is a crackling undertone of connection that Fionn seems determined to ignore, and the chemistry is thick and the banter is fantastic as Rose flirts and Fionn evades.
“Once we get in there, I’ll take out the guards — I’ll just knock them unconscious,” he assured her before she could protest.
“How are you going to do all that if you’re disoriented?”
“My dear Rose.” His tone was exasperated but the endearment still caused a flutter in her stomach. “I’m the oldest motherfucker on this planet. Very little can disorient me.”
That flutter intensified. “I’m not gonna lie … the ‘oldest’ part should put a girl off, but the whole badass immortal thing is pretty hot.”
Day by day, Fionn reveals his story to Rose, and as her own background becomes clearer, the two of them continually grow closer. But Fionn’s plans for revenge don’t include falling for Rose – quite the opposite in fact – so we get this deliciously emotional battle of head vs heart as he wrestles with his feelings.
“Fionn was stuck in the most unlikely of places.
He wanted to fuck the woman he planned to use in his vengeance.
It was inconvenient to say the least”
The love story is a slow burn, and the anticipation builds wonderfully. If fits with the story, and with who Fionn and Rose are, and I loved that time is given to develop the emotional connection, which is so strong and so important to their relationship. I was almost bouncing up and down in my chair waiting for something to happen between them, and it’s absolutely worth the wait, and I loved watching the progression of everything between them.
But their feelings for each other contradict everything that Fionn has been fighting for, and the bad guys are closing in. It’s a tense and exciting story that had me holding my breath, and I couldn’t put my kindle down as it all played out.
“I am nothing if I am not my revenge.”
I really loved this book. Fionn and Rose are fantastic characters, and as much as I love me a dark and tormented romantic hero (and I did!), Rose absolutely shines as she accepts and embraces her new reality, and I absolutely love her! Strong, smart, stubborn and fierce, she is just the woman that Fionn needs, and their battles, her unsubtle flirting, and her willingness to fight for her man while not allowing herself to become a doormat, make this love story both emotional and highly entertaining.
Samantha Young has delivered another fantastic read. This book made me laugh and swoon, and had my heart pounding all the way through. I’m so captivated by this series, and with hints dropped about the next book, I’m so excited to continue on.
I loved it – 5 stars!

Rose Kelly is a 25 yr. old Irish-American woman who was raised in Maryland. Her entire life she’d felt like a piece of her was missing. For the last three years she’s been a nomad wandering around Europe going from job to job. She’s currently bar tending, and contemplating her next move when she’s attacked by a vampire who causes her to hit her head and release a spell that had been put on her to block her powers she didn’t know existed. She realizes she’s been lied to her whole life, and has so many questions. Questions a gorgeous stranger named Fionn Mor claims he can answer. He looked like a hot Viking in a three piece suit, and wanted to help her discover who she is, and teach her to control her powers. She knows nothing of the supernatural world, and is desperate to learn more.
Fionn Mor was once a powerful Irish warrior king. Then he was betrayed, and he was now a cold, detached man that was a master at controlling his emotions. He’d waited centuries for his vengeance, and his passion and thirst for life all centered around his vendetta. He was one step closer to his revenge, and no one would get in his way. He’d finally found the key to getting everything he wanted, and her name was Rose Kelly. Now he just had to get her to trust him, and convince her she needs him.
As Rose follows Fionn to Ireland she feels an intense connection she can’t explain. She soon realizes she has feelings for her delicious mentor, but then secrets and lies are revealed, and she’s shattered by the truth. As she fully embraces her abilities her relationship with Fionn becomes complicated. Their is something primal between them that can’t be denied, and eventually they can’t fight their attraction. In the end will they choose love or revenge?
Kiss of Vengeance (A True Immortality Novel) is a standalone adult paranormal romance from author Samantha Young writing as S. Young. It’s about a dangerous supernatural community full of witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and fae where anything is possible. It has magic, immortals, temptation, manipulation, suspense, and is a super sexy story about survival and soulmates. I love this series so much, and am addicted to this exciting world that Samantha Young creates!
Ok I liked this one, but didn’t love it. I just got a different vibe in this one compared to the first book. I loved how Fionn and Rose met. I really loved Fionn’s underground fight scene too. Overall though the story kind of dragged for me at certain points. I still would like to see how this series unfolds. I have to say though this cover is my FAVORITE in the series and maybe Samantha’s best paranormal one yet!
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Wow! Fionn and Rose have an attraction from the very first time they lay eyes in one another. Rose couldn’t explain why she was so drawn to this man. Then after an attack, Rose has a better idea. Fionn is drawn to her too. But not sure why. She isn’t who he’s looking for, or is she? Once Rose’s true identity comes to light, she is exactly who he is looking for. Rose has no choice but to trust Fionn. Not knowing that he really had a hidden agenda he needed her for. Throughout the book, these two become inseparable. They need each other! Especially when you have Witches, Warlocks and Vamps after you. We even get to read about Thea and Conall again. Fionn realizes he’s can’t use Rose the way he had planned. He was in to deep. Plus there was this whole bond thing between them. This book keeps your interest from page to page. So much information. Plus you want to know what happens, very hard to put down!! This is a stand alone, even though some characters that were in War of Hearts make a small appearance in this one.
