Fantastic, page turning read with a slow burn romance and steamy scenes you can’t put down!
“No one had ever kissed her like Fionn. Like she was air. Life. Food and water all in one.”
Kiss of Vengeance is the second installment to S. Young’s True Immortality series. Though it could be read as a standalone, I suggest reading the books in order as there is so much more information about Fionn Mór.
Rose Kelly is lost and doesn’t know her purpose in the world. She’s been a nomad for sometime, never staying in one place for too long. One night at a nightclub in Croatia during her bartending shift she begins to sense trouble and feels someone is after her. Soon, she comes to face-to-face with Fionn Mòr, an ancient Fae who explains to her who she truly is and soon becomes her mentor; training her on how to use her abilities.
Fionn Mór is briefly introduced in book 1 and getting the full force of this enigmatic being was spellbinding. You guys, he’s so brooding and intense, and it’s so sexy. Fionn is on a mission to slay Aine, the Faeire Queen and seek vengeance against her for putting him in purgatory. Little does he know that Rose is so much more than a weapon to get to the Fae Queen.
Holy Moses! The banter and attraction between these two was palpable and I loved every single minute of it!! I couldn’t get enough of this story and it’s characters. I was swept away by the allurement of it all and constantly on the edge of my seat! These books are addicting and I’m ready to consume more!! Hands down, this is definitely a must read series if you’re a fan of Paranormal Romance.
Looks so good! I love Samantha Young books.
If you’re looking for your next paranormal romance, this is it! Wonderful world building, slow burn romance!
“Spellbinding from the first page to the last, this is one sizzling, supernatural love story you shouldn’t miss.” — Vilma Iris
Wow! What a wonderful world built around the fae. I hated when I had to put it down.
Great paranormal romance by a great author.
What a fabulous story! I loved it!!!
It is so amazingly written you are lead to believe that faeries, vampires, werewolves and the like actually do exist!!
Fionn’s heart is torn in two over protecting Rose and the vengeance he is so set on following through with. While Rose is learning all that she needs to know in a very different world and wondering if Fionn has an alterior motive to what he has told her.
I loved the way these two interacted especially with Fionn trying to be serious and not letting his true emotions show. They are a perfect pair!
You don’t have to have read the first book in the series but I’d recommend it to get a bit more insight & history in some of the past characters.
I can’t wait to find out if there is a book 3 in this series!
The paranormal world that S. Young creates in her True Immorality series is one filled with complex characters – ones whose backstories explain who and what they have become and why their current lives bring these heroes and heroines together.
Book Two, Kiss of Vengeance, is aptly named because the story’s hero, Fionn Mór, is out for revenge, hellbent on doing what needs to be done to exact that vengeance, regardless of the personal sacrifices or the casualties that may occur due to his single-minded focus. It’s interesting to see just how driven he is and the fact that nothing else matters to him, not his life, not his conscience, not even a woman who makes him feel more than he’s felt in ages.
Fionn may see Rose Kelly as a means to an end…a pawn in his grand scheme, but that doesn’t mean Rose will play that role without any backlash, especially given the fact that she is an independent and self-driven woman whose life begins to make more sense than it ever has before because something is unlocked inside her and her nomadic life now seems to have a focus – one that leads her on quite the journey, but when secrets are revealed and lies exposed, it’s unclear how and perhaps even if both Fionn and Rose will survive what’s already been set in motion and if the once Warrior King can not only reclaim everything he lost, but also gain someone who is supposed to be someone important to him…someone far more necessary than his quest for vengeance.
Samantha Young is one of my absolute favorite romance authors, and while I don’t read a lot of paranormal romances anymore, there was never a doubt that I would follow Young into her supernatural world, and I’ll gladly remain for any future stories she tells.
4.5 Poison Apples
Can I just say, the concept of these series is MIND BLOWING!!! Kiss of Vengeance takes you on an insane ride that had me completely glued to my ereader and I could not put it down! I think what blows me away is how much depth the author puts into her books. Everything with Rose. Everything with Fionn. Just wow. Attention to detail that is given has no parallel to anything else I can think of off hand. The draw and connection these two share is amazing even when tested as they go through the ringer essentially.
I am in love with these books and I cannot say enough amazing things about them. This installment of the series was just wow. I felt like I was transported and with them the whole time and I never ever wanted to leave. I highly recommend this book and the one prior if you are a fan of Paranormal reads. These are a MUST read!
I loved it! I read the first book of the True Immortality series and this is the perfect continuation.
I really liked Rose and Fionn story. She’s strong, stubborn and a badass heroine. The perfect match for the fae warrior with a lethal mission. I loved their interaction, their attraction is undeniable and it’s fun to see how they both try to focus in their mission instead of each other.
Adventures, alliances, love, friendship, magic, supernatural creatures mixed with an entertaining plot and great character make this book totally enjoyable and worth reading. Besides being sooo well written.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series! <3
Another amazing read that had me hooked from page one. Fionn & Rose are absolutely amazing together. If you love a slow burn romance then this book is definitely a must read. Such an amazing story with amazing characters that I didn’t want it too end.
I had the pleasure of reading this early on. Love it! If you love paranormal romance, get your hands on this series!
4.5 ‘The Gift Of Forever’ Stars
Wwwwooowww! Whimsically pungent, heartbreakingly gripping and passionately empowering, Kiss of Vengeance blew all my much adored fated mates trope to a whole new, soul impacting level! Fionn and Rose put me through the full emotional spectrum from the very first word, and I fully giving and could not put it down! Absolutely MAGICAL in every way!!!
After reading and falling hard for the first book of the series, to say I was dying for the next fated fae child was an understatement, and after seeing this blurb, omg, I was bitting my nails already. Well, as soon as it landed on my e-reader I dove right in and could not stop!
I will try to spoil as little as possible about the plot and key points, but straight away from the blurb, I knew this would have me on the edge of my seat. Rose, a ‘lost woman’ has been drifting through the world for years looking for something, that she has no idea of, until she his attached by a vampire, and well, lets just say that the door gates of the supernatural crash into her, and there is no way she can escape them. Enter Fionn, the mysterious ‘human turned fae’, that seems to be exactly what she needs. Except he has a secret agenda of his own…
He just didn’t expect to me insanely drawn to Rose, talk about a wrench to his well thought out plans. And Rose, oh I loved her, and her security in herself and her sensuality. She recognized their palpable and acknowledged it, which I adored. Honestly there were so many thing I loved about this woman, I can without a doubt say she’s one of my biggest fictional girl crushes! And she was so sassy and kickass, I loved her ‘hold no barriers’ flirting, and specially enjoyed how it tortured Fionn.
Fionn may have tried resist – for soooooooo long, crazy man! – but he really stood no chance against their epic level of attraction, not what Fates had in the works for him. He may have had a dark agenda, but there was no doubt in my being , due to the incredible way S. Young showed us his tale and thoughts, that the was struggling with his decisions and plans all throughout the story. I loved his character for it, his intensity, his charisma, honorability and charm were utterly irresistible. And it was as I could actually feel his sexiness exuding in every moment he was near Rose. So when all was revealed – which I have to confess that I don’t remember the last time a was devouring words this fast because I couldn’t wait for Rose to uncover his true plans – I felt every second of their pain, Rose’s was breaking my heart! I may have shed a couple of tears then, omg, the angst!!!
There was so much richness in this world, it was impossible not to be transported to this paranormal universe. I love all this PNR, and when I knew from the War Of Hearts that it’s FATED MATES stories that we are getting here, I was psyched beyond measure. Hello, my fav trope in the genre, hell yes! I love specially how Ms. Young weaved it so it doesn’t feel instal-love..ish, the way that is set, specially in this book, where Rose and Fionn’s relationship and developing feelings is more of a slow burn romance, but with enough sizzle to light up a whole city. They are far, after all, lol…
Not only were Fionn and Rose EVERYTHING, but all these secondary characters that we are introduced – or that we met before in WoH – to us are immensely rich and so enticing that I want all of them to have their own stories! Something happens in this book that completely broke my heart, and yes, I totally ugly cried, and it’s regarding a secondary character, that’s how beautifully crafted they are.
Yes, the love story and the suspense/action are the big focuses of the book, but all these extra elements took the book once again to a whole new level!
S. Young really does a fantastic job in sucking us into the story and never wanting to leave. Kiss of Vengeance was exactly that, I was so invested not only in Rose and Fionn’s EPIC story, but every single detail that surrounded them. This True Mortality series is masterfully crafted in a way that seems simple in its complexity, but simultaneously addictive in its passionate characters and fantastical world building. The banter, the emotional pull, the action, the fantasy, and the romance, it just surpasses everything expected and stays with us even after we finish, and addictively craving the next book. That is my state at the moment, specially considering the teasing during the story, I’m already counting down the days for my next TTM fix! I need Niamh’s book STAT!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
What an excellent read. This is the second book in the True Immortality Series. I didn’t think I could love any characters in this series more than I did Thea and Conall from book one, but Rose and Fionn just blew me away. I’m addicted to this series. The bond and chemistry Rose and Fionn share is off the charts. You won’t be able to put this book down. You go through so many emotions. I’m hooked and can’t wait for more.
Bad guys, feuding families, steamy supernatural love… this S. Young story has it all!
Kiss of Vengeance by S. Young was my first paranormal romance from this author and I loved it. Though I did not read the first book in the series, I did not feel like I was lost, but will definitely go back and read it! This story gave us Fionn Mor and Rose Kelly. The story was a slow burning romance about revenge and betrayals and maybe just a bit more. Rose has never had a place where she belonged and always felt something was missing. Fionn is seeking revenge and Rose is the vital in his plans but wanting her should be the last thing he needs. Kiss of Vengeance by S. Young was captivating and intriguing.
Happy reading!

5 stars
I will admit that I read far less paranormal romance than I used to, but that is because it is hard to live up to the standard that authors like Samantha Young have set. This series is sooooo good! I thought the first book was gripping, but this one had me hooked. I could not put it down.
Fionn is H-O-T, with his broody, I only have one purpose, single-mindedness. And then there is Rose who embraces new reality with full force. This book will take you on a great ride full of adventure and steam! Please Samantha, give me more of whatever supernaturals you can come up with! Love, love, love.
S . Young has outdone herself with this story. I love it even more than War of Hearts and I didn’t think that was possible. Conall and Thea were fantastic, but Fionn and Rose were everything and they own my freaking heart. This story was action packed, suspenseful, angsty, and hot. I could not put this book down. I wanted to read it well into the night. Sleep is totally overrated when you have the epicness of the fae world at your disposal. I honestly did not want this story to end. I wanted more of Fionn and Rose and the entire supernatural world S. Young has masterfully created.
Fionn Mor is an alpha male, muscled, brooding, epically hot man. I love everything about his character. Well, minus his need for vengeance and the role he wanted Rose to play in that. Minor details though, right?! This character has his emotions on lockdown though and honestly, it was pretty impressive to read. He never wanted to feel the pain and betrayal he did again. His wife and the Faerie Queen pretty much destroyed him. My heart hurt for him. I could not imagine losing everything and every person you love and then having to life forever. But then again, he ended up finding what he thought his purpose in life was, ending the Faerie Queen and then himself. It was such a thrill to read how wrong he was about that. I love his strength, power, courage, discipline, and loyalty. I love him just a little bit more than I love Conall. Both of these male characters made me swoon and want to throttle them at the same time. Fionn was such a fantastic character to watch develop and change throughout the course of the novel.
Rose Kelly is an amazing character. She is fierce, passionate, protective of those she loves, strong, and so full of fire. Rose doesn’t depend on other people to fix her problems or get out of bad situations. She does that herself. She’s lived a nomad lifestyle for several years and has had to become very resourceful and reliant upon herself. She inspires me to be strong and fierce and to not let anyone tell me how I should live my life. I may have a bit of a girl crush on Rose. Actually, I have a girl crush on Rose and Thea. Both are awesome female lead characters that girls and women should aspire to be like. Fiercely independent and strong and not afraid to tell people what they think. Rose is such a badass fae too! Her powers were bound in the beginning of the story, but once she could finally use them, man she was awesome at it! She is such a natural with her powers and doesn’t shy away from the fact that she’s immortal. She’s pretty badass in my opinion.
Rose and Fionn are amazing together. I adore everything about these two. The banter between them is sexy and flirty and so enjoyable to read. I love that Rose would try and push Fionn to his limits just to get a reaction out of him, especially since that man has his emotions on lockdown. It’s hot as hell to see him lose control. I’m pretty sure Rose is one of the only people capable of doing that to him. It is so fun to read. The chemistry and heat between these two is epic. Honestly, they are fire together. I could read about them all day! I love their sassiness with one another and the fact that they care so deeply and fully for one another. Neither one would change anything about the other. They are more than willing to take one another as they are. I love these two together so much! They are entertaining, sassy, salty, and full of fire. I’m looking forward to that short story about them coming out in a few months!
Overall, I give this story a 5/5! Kiss of Vengeance has amazing action, angst, heartfelt moments, and chemistry so hot I didn’t know what to do with myself. I loved being introduced to new characters and revisiting some of my favorite characters from War of Hearts. S. Young did such an amazing job weaving a world full of wonder, heartbreak, angst, and love. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series. She did such an amazing job setting up the next book at the end of Kiss of Vengeance. I’m excited to see where S. Young will take us next in this extraordinary world of supernaturals.
Rose is such a vastly different character than Thea
Where Thea didn’t want the power or the immortality that comes from being Fae Rose absolutely lives for it
She embraces the magic that is her new reality with an almost childlike reverence
The easy way she confronts and overcomes each new hurdle at times had me cringing other moments I was laughing
Then we have Fionn – I wanted to toss him from the parapet!!
He could be such an idjiot at times!
So bent on revenge he couldn’t see past its cloying darkness to the light that was shining before him.
He only needs one of the children to sacrifice.
Sure he is sorry he will snuff out her light but her sacrifice will be for the greater good.
Right?
There were so many moments in this story where the smooth rhythm lulled me into a calm sense of success and accomplishment – They were going to make it work, everything would be okay – Only to suddenly jar me out of my happy state and toss me into a heart-pounding soul-shattering scene that upended everything I thought I knew
How could she survive so many foes?
Then the ending…
Knowing now what lies ahead –
Who may be the next to fall?
The increasing impossibility to protect?
I’m not sure I can wait.
