A laird trapped between centuries…Enchanted by a powerful spell, Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar slumbered for nearly five centuries hidden deep in a cave, until an unlikely savior awakened him. The enticing lass who dressed and spoke like no woman he’d ever known was from his distant future, where crumbled ruins were all that remained of his vanished world. Drustan knew he had to return to … had to return to his own century if he was to save his people from a terrible fate. And he needed the bewitching woman by his side….
A woman changed forever in his arms…
Gwen Cassidy had come to Scotland to shake up her humdrum life and, just maybe, meet a man. How could she have known that a tumble down a Highland ravine would send her plunging into an underground cavern — to land atop the most devastatingly seductive man she’d ever seen? Or that once he’d kissed her, he wouldn’t let her go?
Bound to Drustan by a passion stronger than time, Gwen is swept back to sixteenth-century Scotland, where a treacherous enemy plots against them … and where a warrior with the power to change history will defy time itself for the woman he loves….

This is my second-favorite book in Karen Marie Moning’s Highlander series. (My first favorite being The Immortal Highlander.) I adore this series! Whenever I’m having a bad day or not feeling well, I read one of the books in this series again and always feel much better. This one features time travel, a spunky physicist heroine, and a medieval …
I adored this romance. The chemistry between Gwen and Drustan is palpable and memorable. This time travel love story ticks all my boxes.
Found this in a shop and thought I’d read it…
So glad I did …absolutely loved the cast of characters involved to make up this story.
Time travel, mystery , Rom gypsies, Druids I was hooked right from the start….
I read this whole series of books several years ago, loving each one better than the one before it.
Gwen goes on holiday in Scotland, falls into a cave and awakens a sleeping Highlander. Drustan had been in an enchanted sleep for 5 centuries. Together they go to where his castle and clan are supposed to be, falling in love on the way. He sends Gwen back to his time to save his clan – he cannot exist twice in the same place. She has to remind the …

Wow! I love Drustan Mackeltar. This is such a wonderful romantic story.
This entire series is superb and I have reread them many a time. If you like some fairy magic (sometimes dark), great story-telling and good, sensual chemistry and than I hightly suggest you read this book as well as the rest in the series. This series had me laughing, crying and dreaming of highlanders
This book remains forevermore one of my top picks for best romances of all time. I devoured it the first time I read it and have re-read it many times. Drustan is yummy, funny, heart-wrenching; Gwen is hilarious, sweet, real, down-to-earth. She’s me if I were in the novel, only I would be brunette with brown eyes of course 🙂
Wonderful story
I loved this book. It has been a long time since I read it, but I remember it was awesome.
The first romance novel I ever read (an airport paperback purchase)- and hooked me on the genre for life.
A story layered with character development that captivates the imagination, a unique twist to explain time traveling heroines, an absolutely dreamy & swoon-worthy hero, and a dash of fae magic; the combination delights with an unpredictable …
This is my favorite book of the series thus far. I have been waiting to read about the MacKeltars first of all, but the dynamic of the time travel in this one was so intriguing. And getting to see the healing on the part of Gwen was very interesting. Her frustrations trying to get Drustan to believe her added to the story and of course having the …
