As two neighborhood shop owners battle for business, they prove opposites attract in this “deliciously sweet and savory new romantic comedy” (USA Today bestselling author Abby Jimenez). Blaire Calloway has planned every Instagram-worthy moment of her cupcake and cocktails shop launch down to the tiniest detail. What she didn’t plan on? Ronan Knight and his old-school sports bar next door … Knight and his old-school sports bar next door opening on the very same day. He may be super swoony, but Blaire hasn’t spent years obsessing over buttercream and bourbon to have him ruin her chance at success.
From axe throwing (his place) to frosting contests (hers), Blaire and Ronan are constantly trying to one-up each other in a battle to win new customers. But with every clash, there’s also an undeniable chemistry. When an even bigger threat to their business comes to town, they’re forced to call a temporary time-out on their own war and work together. And the more time Blaire spends getting to know the real Ronan, the more she wonders if it’s possible to have her cupcake and eat it too.
From the very first chapter, Kiss My Cupcake pulls you in and keeps you engaged and entertained. An instant Helena Hunting classic.
Blaire and Ronan immediately clash, and they have amazing chemistry from their very first interaction. It’s a classic rivals to lovers romance, and we have plenty of time to watch the two of them develop friendship and mutual respect that leads to romance. Plus, we get to read about all sorts of amazing sounding cupcakes, bar games, entertainment, etc.
I really enjoyed Kiss My Cupcake so much. The plot was engaging, fun and constantly moving. The banter between “Alice” and the “Lumberjerk” was smart, fun and quick-witted. A plus all around.
Not only is it a great read, but it’s also a great listen! Teddy Hamilton and Holly Warren were fantastic narrators that captured the emotion and the humor of the story very well.
Oh how I love me some Helena Hunting stories!
Kiss My Cupcake is everything I know and love! We got cupcakes, cocktails, a swoony tattooed hero and a heroine that is just divine!
This is the story of Ronan and Blaire. Competing business owners and rivals for the title of Best Bar in the Pacific Northwest.
Blaire is feisty, she is fun and she is a fashion goddess! I loved how her in her quest for normal reflected in what she wore and she made no apologies for it. Her very eclectic upbringing further pushes her for normalcy. I loved her initial reaction to Ronan and her inner dialogue when it came to him.
Ronan is swoony, dressed in plaid! I loved his history and the reason for fighting to bring his family bar back from the brink. I love how he feeds of riling Blaire up and his nickname for her is precious and so spot on!
The fireworks and hormones fly with these two from the get-go! I loved their interactions and the push and pull of their personal and business relationships! The dialogue and chemistry between these two was epic!
The secondary characters bring a completeness to the story and I love to see some of them get their own stories in the future!
I just love Helena Hunting’s writing and I love an enemies-to-lovers romance. Plus, cupcakes?! Yes, I was here for this story. Ronan and Blaire’s banter was wonderful and kept me invested the whole way through. There is just something about that back and forth that turns into a-whole-nother type of back and forth, if ya know what I mean? I just wanted them to get to it! Their families added some good elements to their story in different ways. Ronan’s grandfather was great. Blaire’s family, not so much. As per usual, Helena Hunting brought the laughs with the realness. Overall, this was a sweet enemies-to-lovers romance that made me soooooo hungry with the amazing food descriptions. I’d obviously recommend it!
Thank you to Helena Hunting, Social Butterfly PR, and Forever Publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This is a sweet and easy read. It’s full of delicious things, like cupcakes and cocktails and Ronan Knight.
This was a fun and flirty enemies to lovers romance that’s light on the drama and heavy on the laughs and steam.
Blaire is cute and quirky and I just loved her! I loved her style and her humor and her independence. Ronan is hip and hot. There’s more than meets the eye when it comes to him. I loved the banter between them and the slow burn was awesome! I just loved this book.
Another win from Helena Hunting!
3.75 stars. This was a cute book! Kiss My Cupcake is a standalone book and is Blaire and Ronan’s story. Blaire has dreamed of opening her own cupcake and cocktail shop and her dream is finally coming true. Ronan has just taken over his family bar next door. When the two meet, a rivalry begins between them and their shops, as well as an attraction to each other. They soon find themselves competing for business and also in a best bar social media contest. But they also find that they really like each other. Soon they are working together to make their businesses better and falling in love.
This book had a good story. It was a low angst and low heat level story, but it was very cute. I enjoyed the cupcake and the rival bars theme, as well as the descriptions of Blaire’s cute outfits. There was a fun, frenemies to lovers vibe and I enjoyed the “wrapped up in a bow” HEA ending. This book would make an adorable rom-com movie. I did think it felt a little too light and I didn’t feel a ton of emotions from it, but the cuteness factor and how entertaining it was made up for that.
Overall, this was a fun, sweet, easy read. Blaire and Ronan were cute together. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Ms. Hunting in the future!
I was THRILLED to get an ARC for this and I stopped everything I was doing to read it and finish it the day I got it.
Blaire comes from a wealthy, bizarre, successful family of restauranteurs who don’t understand her desire to branch out on her own and do something she loves: cupcakes and booze. She’s been working towards this dream and her excitement is trampled when her adorable unicorn glassware is shattered by the jerk next door. That jerk is Ronan who is working towards his own goal of opening a brewery by turning his family owned bar into a successful axe throwing bar.
I think Ronan described Blaire best: “Blaire is a force, she’s smart and beautiful and driven and uniquely herself.” She’s a little excitable, hyper organized and a little wound tight and Ronan loves to rile her up. He’s a sexy tatted lumberjack of a man who loves a practical joke (even if misdirected).
They start off on the wrong foot and realize they are competitors for a feature that could give their respective businesses the spotlight they need to shine. At first they work hard at outdoing one another before joining forces to collaborate and defeat a common enemy. I loved their banter and sweet moments to go along with their bite.
Ronan and Blaire are both opening their own establishments to prove to family members that they can do things on their own. Things do not start off on the right foot and they quickly become enemies when they are constantly trying to one-up each other. When a big-name restaurant moves in across the street they call a truce and start to work together. Kiss My Cupcake is a enemies to lovers sugary romance which is told in the dual first-person point of view.
Kiss my cupcake has all of the feels, will have you laughing out loud and craving cupcakes. The tension between Ronan and Blaire as they attempt to fight their attraction is comical but when they do finally start their truce they are as sweet as a cupcake. Gramps is great at putting in his two cents without anyone knowing he is doing it. I hope that some of the side characters like Lars and Daphnie get their own books. Helena Hunting has been a TBR author of mine for a long time and I am glad I finally got to read her books and will be adding all her backlist to my TBR.

Swoony, steamy, and funny!
Kiss My Cupcake follows Blaire and Ronan as emerging and competing business owners who seem to like fighting as much as working together. While one has cupcakes and the other has axe-throwing, the competition heats up for the best bar. They both have something to prove, Blaire that she can open this business on her own, and Ronan wants to prove he’s the best to continue his families bar. I adored the antics that these two feisty characters exhibited while fighting, but I absolutely fell in love with them when they were working together toward a common goal.
This book leaves you with both a stomachache from laughing so much as well as a melted heart from the chemistry. Helena Hunting is a definite one-click for me, and this book is one of my favorite of hers.
If you’ve read Hunting before, you know what to expect:

Hunting is unmatched when it comes to romance novels. Seriously, no one can do what she does. Yet another hit.
Ahhhh Kiss My Cupcakee was good and enjoyable read!
From the beginning this author always knows how to take Her readers for a great rom com adventute, and I ‘m sure all fans will adore Ronan and His Girl.
I liked KMC , from the first paiges, but… it is not suprising, if it comes to this author. The whole story line, the characters, the banter, the chemistry was definitely made in Mrs. Hunting’s style!
Kiss My Cupcake was funny.
Kiss My Cupcake was sooo sweet.
Kiss My Cupcake was pretty awesome and hot!!!!
If You’re looking for great distraction, and book that will make You laugh – one click Kiss My Cupcakee! You will have some good fun!
Another brilliant read from Helena Hunting. She brought me a read that thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. She brought her trademark sass and humour which I love.
I will advise you having cupcakes near by when reading this as it will make you hungry.
Blaire may come from a rich family but she has worked hard perfecting her cupcakes so she can open her cupcake and cocktail business (Sounds amazing and could do with one here). I loved her, she is independent and sassy.
When hot Ronan opens a sports bar and axe throwing place next door she is on instant alert and the two enter into some serious competitive hijinks, neither wants to give in until a bigger threat faces both their businesses and they realise they are better allies.
With chemistry off the charts hot to the point I was surprised my kindle wasn’t steaming, it was great fun watching their relationship play out.
Well done Helena on another brilliant read
Kiss my cupcake is a swoon sweet love story with many romantic moments and very low angst ones. It’s much more of a feel-good story that I wasn’t expecting especially since I’ve read other books by the author. My lower star rating is because some intimate scenes are not at all on the page as I was expecting and that’s just me and not ticking the box for my “this is what I’m looking for in a book “
I can easily see this one being made into a Hallmark movie and I would totally watch and recommend it as many people will enjoy it immensely.
Kiss My Cupcake is a deliciously sweet RomCom romance with all the feels. It will leave you feeling happy. Reading this book will put a smile on your face as you imagine in vivid detail everything from the 50’s inspired dresses Blaire (aka Alice in Wonderland) wears, to the cupcakes she lovingly decorates to the soft texture of the plaid shirts Ronan (aka Lumberjack) favors to the smell of fresh cut pine in the Knight Cap bar. It will all come to life as you read this book.
Blaire and Ronan are rivals – at first. She owns a cupcake And cocktail shop, he owns a bar. They share a wall and a hell of a lot of sexual chemistry. Watching them, fuss, argue, fight and consequentially make up, is so very, very hot. Their business animosity does not extend into the personal because they are crazy for each other no matter how much they try to deny it.
Banding together to fight one obstacle while competing for a coveted prize adds to the will they or won’t they, or more accurately, WHEN will they finally, give into their feelings, kindle throbbing tension that makes up their particular relationship. I absolutely loved each and every comment, look, deed, song, and cupcake that went into the journey to their sexy sweet happily ever after.
TBR this incredible book and remember, Save a tree and climb a Lumberjack !
You can never go wrong with a Helena Hunting book, and I think Kiss My Cupcake is one of her best yet. Full of humour, heat, a crazy family, a little bit of angst and some melt your heart moments, this book is pure perfection. I hope we get to visit Ronan and Blaire later on.
Kiss My Cupcake is an amazing feel-good book from Helena Hunting! This book was so sweet, I had a smile on my face throughout the entire story. This enemies to lovers romance between Ronan and Blaire’s relationship was full of hilarious moments, witty banter and they really had amazing chemistry! I truly enjoyed this book!
Rival bar owners Blaire & Ronan are forced into partnership to mitigate the unforseen damage to their businesses of an issue across the street. The rivalry starts with highjacked opening event and a cocky attitude, then compounded by influencers competition. With sparks flying they are forced to join forces to save their businesses. Then the fun really starts. Throw in one very quirky family, one loyal family, a few fab friends and the recipe is complete.
Helena writes some of the best characters I’ve ever read. Her banter is bangin’ and stories are just crazy fun.
Kiss My Cupcake was a deliciously sweet romantic comedy. I really loved Blaire. She was feisty, independent and so funny. Ronan pushes every one of her buttons, and it was so much fun to read. Their side-by-businesses and all of the competition between the two was a wonderful way to build the tension. They were both working so hard to make their own bar a success, but when they worked together, magic happened. I loved the way the story unfolded and how Ronan and Blaire fell for each other. It was a really great book.
KISS MY CUPCAKE is a deliciously sweet and romantic and so funny novel you need to savor.
Helena Hunting uses her own successful recipe, everything we love in her writing and in her stories is there.
_Sweet as pie (or buttercream) and strong and funny heroine. Blaire comes from a really (like REALLY)… unique family. She fights hard everyday to succeed by herself. She perfectly represents passionate businesswomen who want to live their dreams and have the job they love. Her shop is also representative of small local shops trying to compete and not being swallowed by bigger businesses. Her pinup looks and her personality will charm you, she’s a real cupcake.
_Sparkling as glitter (or champagne) and generous and funny hero. Ronan works for his grandfather, he restores and revives his bar. This bar represents small family businesses, with a heart, a true story. Ronan is also a man who prefers earning less money by doing a job he loves than earning more with a boring job. His hipster looks and his personality will make you fall in love with him, he’s a gentleman mixed with a hottie.
_Funny banter with sexual innuendos sometimes. First Blaire and Ronan are “enemies”, competitors, and they love to tease and irritate each other. It’s like a little boy in love with a little girl unable to stop himself from annoying her.
_A good and multifaceted story with great secondary characters. When a chain restaurant threads their businesses they work together, they fight together without losing their souls, they have amazing ideas. Kiss my cupcake is also a story about family and friendship. Ronan’s grandfather is a beautiful addition, his story with his late wife is touching, his relationship with Ronan is strong and cute. Blaire’s friends are really helpful. They want what’s best for her and help her succeed.
_A sweet and true love story. A slow burn romance with cute scenes, funny scenes, steamy scenes… A lot of seduction in their banter and in their behavior, feelings blooming with time and a love real and deep.
_Lots of cupcakes that will make you hungry! Blaire has great ideas and each time she tried a new mix of flavors i was jealous of her customers! I loved how Ronan is addicted to them, his reactions when he eats them… Pure foodporn!
_A light and addictive writing, a page turner, pure Helena Hunting’s style.
—> A smart, funny and incredibly sweet and delicious romcom you need!
This book was delicious. I read it in one sitting. The concept is great from the start…Ronan and Blaire are new business neighbors. Ronan recently took over his grandfather’s bar and is renovating it to include axe throwing. Blaire is finally achieving her dream of a cupcake cafe (I mean cupcakes and cocktails..how awesome is that?!). These two have a contentious relationship from the first hello. Blaire appears stuck in her ways and demanding. She finds Ronan to be loud and inconsiderate. The two are rival enemies in a “best bar” contest until they find a fellow enemy in a the big name chain that has moved in across the street. They decide to team up to overcome this new competition which only makes it harder for them to resist one another.
Everything to this story is great. It’s super cute and yet there is some hot chemistry at the same time. The banter is fantastic. I found myself laughing out loud several times. I loved both Blaire and Ronan. And the setting is someplace I wish really existed because I would love to go visit both establishments. This was my first book from Helena Hunting but will definitely not be my last.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for an ARC of this book. The opinions here are my own.
Helena Hunting always brings the hilarity and Kiss My Cupcake kept me laughing basically from beginning to end.
The pranks and the banter between Ronan and Blair were the absolute best. But what was even better was how powerful these two were when they joined forces to grow their businesses to make sure they survive against the big box restaurant that moves in.
I absolutely loved Blair. She’s creative, independent, and totally fierce. She’s completely built her business from the ground up all by herself. She’s such an amazing character, I really couldn’t get enough. Ronan’s pranks were absolutely hilarious and I loved how he was all about Blair. He was so much swoon I couldn’t even handle it.
I loved how funny this book was but I also loved the family and the balance of emotion. I’d love to visit The Knight Cap and Buttercream and Booze again!!
