As two neighborhood shop owners battle for business, they prove opposites attract in this “deliciously sweet and savory new romantic comedy” (USA Today bestselling author Abby Jimenez). Blaire Calloway has planned every Instagram-worthy moment of her cupcake and cocktails shop launch down to the tiniest detail. What she didn’t plan on? Ronan Knight and his old-school sports bar next door … Knight and his old-school sports bar next door opening on the very same day. He may be super swoony, but Blaire hasn’t spent years obsessing over buttercream and bourbon to have him ruin her chance at success.
From axe throwing (his place) to frosting contests (hers), Blaire and Ronan are constantly trying to one-up each other in a battle to win new customers. But with every clash, there’s also an undeniable chemistry. When an even bigger threat to their business comes to town, they’re forced to call a temporary time-out on their own war and work together. And the more time Blaire spends getting to know the real Ronan, the more she wonders if it’s possible to have her cupcake and eat it too.
Two neighborhood bar owners battle it out for business and fall head over cupcakes (and axes) in love in this deliciously sweet and spicy romantic comedy.
(Seriously. All this book makes me want to do is eat cupcakes and use baking puns).
@buttercreamandbooze: I’m just a cupcake, looking for my stud muffin.
This book was so much fun! Ronan & Blaire are adjacent bar owners and they couldn’t be more different- she’s all polished 50’s retro & he’s a plaid wearing lumberjack hipster. From their first spirited encounter, an intense love/hate rivalry develops and when they find themselves in competition for bragging rights as “Best Bar in the Pacific Northwest” all bets are off. There’s Karaoke, Harry Potter trivia nights, ax throwing & a hilariously naughty bachelorette cupcake party! Alls fair in beer & cupcakes! When they have to join forces against a big bar chain moving into their neighborhood, the slow burning attraction they tried to ignore soon ignites. It’s funny & tender, sweet & dirty- this delightful romance is a feel good must read!
Absolutely loved this story. Loved the back and fourth between Blair and Ronan. They sure know how to push each other’s buttons. The chemistry is off the charts between the two of them. Could not wait to see who would do what next. A must read.
This book was SUCH a treat! I loved it from the first page to the last one and highly recommend it!

From the title alone I knew I’d love this book! I mean romance and cupcakes?! Sign me up!
*sigh*
Ronan and Blaire together were just too swoon-worthy. I needed this book… it’s light, it’s an easy-read and it’s inspirational.
It’s a combination of enemies to lovers and friends to lovers romance. It’s a sweet and feel-good story… definitely something you’d want to read to escape reality in these hard times… Ronan and Blaire will just melt your heart!
Another hilarious rom com from Helena Hunting! In this one, the enemies to lovers have to agree to at least a temporary truce in order to give their new businesses the chance to succeed that they both very much want, as a new threat has arrived!
Ronan has a sports bar and Blaire has a cupcake and cocktails shop. The banter is laugh out loud funny, the antics will keep you smiling, the chemistry is sizzling and the slow burn makes it all worth it. You will definitely want to make this your next 1 click!!!
Kiss my Cupcake is Witty and hilarious.
As Blair’s get ready to open the doors of her dream cupcake cafe she is thrown off balance and fired up with the bar owner next door.
She starts to feel undercut by his business antics and tries to confront him on several occasions.
Ronan has made a deal with his grandfather to revamp the bar that supported his grandmother and grandfathers life. If he can manage to turn the bar around he will have the seed money to start his own brewery.
What he didn’t expect was the feisty business owner next door. She’s up in his face and is not backing down. And of course he can’t resist her cupcakes.
But competition is brewing and they are both trying to keep in the lead, until a chain restaurant bar gets ready to move in. Now, they must pull together to keep both their businesses from going under.
But spending all their time together keeping ahead, makes then realize they have been fighting their attraction from each other from the start.
Can Blaire and Ronan burn the competition to keep their dreams?
This story did not disappoint. Hooray for another fantastic read from Helena Hunting
This cupcake love story was devour worthy and calorie free!
Loved the characters, their chemistry was undeniable. The banter was entertaining. The storyline was enjoyable. Definitely recommend this book to old and new Helena Hunting fans alike.
Kiss My cupcake is the latest romantic comedy by Helena Hunting. This darling stand-alone book will give you all the funny, sexy feels as you get to know Blaire and Ronan. Blaire’s unique cupcake and specialty drink shop takes on Ronan’s family legacy bar (with an axe throwing opportunity) as they compete head to head to be named the best bar in the Pacific Northwest. You will be treated to adorable antics of the love hate relationship that Blaire and Ronan have along the way with crazy family dynamics. This book is not just about who will win the competition but whose heart will be captured during their combats. Be careful because a part of your heart will be lost in their epic battles along with your appetite for some sweet treats…. The only thing that Helena could have given us more of in this book was the actual cupcakes to eat while you devour this great summer read.
This book is just an absolute joy. Inventive cupcakes, a smart enterprising woman, social media shenanigans, neighbouring businesses, competition and cooperation, a couple that goes from rivals to friends, to more… this story has it all. And it’s so well put together, you will not want to stop reading once you start.
“It’s been a journey, hasn’t it?”
“An uphill battle to the top of cupcake mountain, really,” Daphne agrees.
Blaire and Ronan are always clashing, be it personally or in terms of their businesses. But Blaire is Not going to let the axe throwing bar owner next door mess with her vision for her perfect cupcakes and cocktails concept. So what if he’s kind of really hot, and maybe sometimes funny… and her most dedicated, most regular customer! Ronan does not understand why his new neighbour store owner is so uptight, and why she doesn’t get his jokes… But he can see that she’s smart and independent and when they’re not fighting over one thing or another, they make a really good team!
The way these two interact, the way they both go from a place of making assumptions to actually understanding what the other person is about, makes the transition from strangers and enemies, to friends and collaborators very very believable. It makes you root for their romance, which really comes from a growing relationship and deepening understanding of a person, rather than attraction alone (there’s that too, never fear!) I really like the book as a whole, but some of my favourite parts are the ones where mundane, everyday things bring them closer. I don’t want to spoil any of the fun stuff so I’m going to leave it for readers to discover for themselves (this is so hard, I want to share all my fav bits!)
This is the perfect book to cheer you up when you’re feeling a little low. It is the right choice if you’re in a reading slump, or need a positive distraction from the world around. It will also leave you craving cupcakes, so consider yourself warned!
Alice and the lumberjerk were everything I needed and more! this story was amazing! I couldn’t put it down!
This whimsical, refreshing, and hilarious romcom is not one that you will want to miss! Ronan and Claire are an exceptionally fun couple, and this book exemplifies why I enjoy the enemies-to-lovers trope when it’s done well. And, of course, HH does it well. HH is one of those authors who makes me laugh hysterically every time I pick up her books. I’m not sure how she keeps the ideas for her characters and settings so fresh, but man! I love escaping into her worlds and find it hard to come up for air when I do. It doesn’t hurt that buttercream is brought up on nearly every page. HH had me craving buttercream so much that I had to try my hand at making some! My buttercream isn’t nearly as mouthwatering as Claire’s, or as a mouthwatering as Ronan, but reading the book was satisfaction enough.
Helena has once again made me laugh out loud, fall in love with her characters, swoon for her leading man and cheer for her sassy baker!!! Get ready to have your cupcakes frosted while you wash it down with a delicious adult refreshment. Blaire and Ronan are new business neighbors that find themselves on the opposing sides when it comes to a local contest. It is either team up or be left in the dust. I loved everything this dynamic couple duo had to offer. They are smart, sexy, funny, creative and oh so talented in their own stores now lets bring them together and wow what a combination! Let’s get real here who doesn’t love sweets, adult treats and sexy romance with a bit of snark sass and undeniable attraction. Blaire & Ronan have the recipe for a fabulously fun read!

This is an enjoyable, fun, flirty, and entertaining read!!
Kiss My Cupcake is an enjoyable, fun, flirty, and entertaining enemies-to-lovers romance about two business owners competing against each other since the day they meet, and ignoring the strong and undeniable chemistry between them.
Blaire is feisty, smart, gorgeous, and a fighter. She wants to succeed on her own, apart from her family business, and her dreams are finally coming through when she opens her own bakery.
Ronan is the guy next door to her bakery. with a sexy lumberjack air that includes tattoos, and a brut’s manners, but with a soft and caring side that can’t be seen. u2063However, in the end, I loved how they end up working together in order to keep their business afloat, when a lower prices business opens in their turf.
This book is so super cute!! It made me smile and laugh throughout!! It’s a slow burn you gotta work for those steamy scenes but so worth it!! This is Blaire and Ronan’s book. We meet Blaire who’s just opened up a cupcake and specialty cocktail shop but happens to be next to The Knight Cap which is a pub that Ronan helps oversee for his gramps but unfortunately for Blaire he’s renovating the place and causing all kinds of noise that streams in to her place from the adjoining wall. However Blaire won’t let someone dampen her dreams and she has the determination to conquer anything thrown her way. Ronan is the sexy hipster that will give the beauty all she can handle in all the right ways.
Overall it was low angst, slow burn, super cute, funny read that I thought was amazing and gave me the escape I was looking for and can’t wait to see what the author gives us next. She provides us with amazing escapes into the worlds she creates for us readers.
Kiss My Cupcake is a sugary sweet slow burn with kick. If it were a cupcake and not a book it would be a blend of complicated flavors that shouldn’t go together but end up being a flavorgasm on your tongue (e.g. like chili and chocolate, sweet and spicy)
Blaire is fierce and fun with the unique style of a pinup girl. I loved the descriptions of all her dresses and aprons. Ronan is a plaid & glasses wearing, lumberjack size, tattooed dream boat. I mean really he’s like Randy Balls but behind a bar (swoon). The descriptions of the tattoos and Blaire’s reaction to them is every woman everywhere. These two start out as fierce enemies and competitors, but when put in an impossible situation, they team up and what started out as hate turns into an unwilling alliance with a whole lot of flirting.
I loved Ronan’s ownership of his feelings. He didn’t try to hide from them or from Blaire and it was a very attractive quality in his character.
My only feedback or note I would give, is that now that I have images of the characters in my mind, the people on the cover don’t look enough like them, but as concerns go it is rather minimal. I think Ronan looks more rugged and the tat’s are missing and Blaire is curvier in my mind, more hour glass and more poof to her skirt 😉
Like most Helena Hunting books this story has some whackadoodle characters (Blaire’s family gave me a real laugh) as well as some heartwarming ones (Gramps was the best!!). This story pulls at the emotional heartstrings, but not in a stressful way. You will enjoy every crumb of this story and come back for seconds.
I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley and voluntarily give my review.
