Grammar has finally let its hair down! Unlike uptight grammar books that overwhelm us with every single grammar rule, Kiss My Asterisk is like a bikini: it’s fun, flirty, and covers only the most important bits. Its lessons, which are 100 percent free of complicated grammar jargon, have been carefully selected to include today’s most common, noticeable errorsthe ones that confuse our readers or … readers or make them wonder if we are, in fact, smarter than a fifth grader. What is the proper use of an apostrophe? When should an ellipsis be used instead of an em dash? Why do we capitalize President Obama but not the president”? And why is that question mark placed outside of the end quote?
Author Jenny Baranick is an English professor whose students can’t believe she’s actually that into grammar. Upon experiencing the joys of grammar at an early age, raising grammar awareness became Jenny’s raison d’être. By spreading her remarkably user-friendly and hilarious approach to grammar, she hopes everyone will experience the satisfaction of a properly placed comma, a precisely used semicolon, and a correctly deployed en dash.
Kiss My Asterisk shows grammar as it’s never been seen before: uncomplicated, laugh-out-loud funny, and, dare we say, a little risqué.

Good reference for some of those “tricky” rules of good grammar. I highly recommend this book to everyone who engages in the process of “the written word”.
I keep it available on my “Smart” phone.
Makes grammar fun some many decades after school;
Good way to learn grammar
If you like grammar, this is a good book to read.
Couldnt stop until I finished reading the entire novel. You can broaden your audience by publishing your story on NōvelStar Mobile App.
I thought it was amusing but not helpful to remember rules of grammar. It would be easier to memorize the rule than to use her suggestions.
I write technical documents for a living as part of my consulting practice. This book provided some good insights on best practices for me. I enjoyed reading it.
A little silly, but it does provide good information and memory boosting suggestions.
Couldn’t really get into this book. I felt like it was trying to go in too many avenues at once. Some parts were funny, but others unnecessary, as I saw it. I think the premise of using humor to get through unpopular writing mechanic skills was not interesting to me. Others may like it, but the book was not for me.
For people like me who read English/grammar books for fun. This was a very entertaining book to read. The author has a wonderful sense of humor, and even though I teach grammar, I learned a thing or two! If you love English, you will love this book!
An excellent review of grammar, sentence structure and punctuation — and all in a witty way that makes us remember all those rules.
I actually deleted it from my Kindle.
This is a good book for grammar review and as a reference manual to keep handy.
This book gave information that was necessary and important. I love the fact that it is written in a style that engages you and keeps you going.
Not overwhelming. Simply a nice, helpful book.
Laughed a lot, learned a lot!
This gives great insight of the grammar rules we forgot from school. It’s presented in a funny witty way
Very educational, in a fun way.
I mostly wanted to know the proper use of a comma. Good thing I got the book.
Most punctuation is pretty self explanatory, but the comma can get pretty complicated.
Really fun book to read.
Very educational.
A funny yet helpful book on punctuation and grammar.
Great info with some snarky wit to keep it interesting.
