What an on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense-filled, down and dirty ride! It is so good that it has been added to my favorite romantic suspense list. I couldn’t put it down! Mackenzie is so strong and fierce! I don’t know how you endure all that she did and be able to still fight for justice the way she is. The chemistry between her and Baz is electric! Holy crap can he deliver….I am still hot and bothered. *fans self* My mind is still whirling trying to figure out what really happened to Madison. And that ending! I have so many questions!! I cannot wait for the conclusion!
Why I hate cliffhangers……. I NEED TO KNOW NOW!!!! Damn! This book ended on a crazy one! If you read the blurb you may be able to figure what type of cliffhanger it ends on…. but you still won’t be ready! And the heat level to this book is insane! I was totally not ready for that ending. The whole premise of this book is really a great one. I mean twin gets murdered and then 9 years later she is trying to prove that she was right all along about who killed her….. and when no one else believed her back when it happened, she was dealing with it all alone! I don’t really know how I am going to get through this next 3 months until the next one comes out….. my head is swimming with too many questions. Sometimes I think that these are the most difficult reviews to write because with all the questions I keep having floating around my brain it is so hard to not give anything away! So I will leave you with this….. be prepared to ask yourself a million questions….. Because of some of the questions I have about Baz and I seriously thinking about re-skimming his chapters!
Wow! Just Wow! I can’t..What did I just read? Seriously, I’m dead. Like here lies Megan; she read Kiss Me With Lies, threw her kindle after THAT ENDING!! and now she’s dead. RIP Meg
THIS BOOK YA’LL Jam packed full of so much suspense, angst, secrets, lies and revenge. KMWL was such a crazy ride that will have you white knuckling your kindle and potentially breathing into a paper bag while reading. SO GOOD There really aren’t any words to properly describe how special this book is & I need book two like I need my next breath. So I’ll just be over here with more questions than answers… rocking in a corner… with one of the most epic of book hangovers while I wait for book two

Me encanta.
Baz también es un personaje distinto y me causa mucha intriga. Se complementan y cada uno tiene sus demonios y luchas internas. Si química es absoluta y eso complica y ayuda a las situaciones que se presentan.
Al libro dos, directo.

Mysteries are one of my favorite things to read, and this book presented a pretty interesting one. I was up all night long and had everything to to with the fact that I couldn’t put down this story and nothing to do with having a baby.
The plot is interesting, is different, it keeps you guessing and has unexpected twists.
Mack has an interesting personality, constantly fighting inner demons, second guessing everything around her. I liked her.
Baz is also always reading every situation, not trusting anything or anyone completely. He is a complex chat after as well and together they make lots of sense. They complement each other completely, with an off-charts chemistry that helps but also creates lots of conflict for everything that happens around them.
Jumping into the second book, right now!
Wow. Wow. WOW! Have I said that discovering S. M. Soto’s books has been one of the highlights of my year before? I probably have, but I’ll say it again. THANK YOU S. M. Soto for creating Baz Kingston. This guy owns my heart, and I haven’t even read the second book yet.
Kiss me with Lies is a suspenseful, steamy romance novel, book one in the Twin Lies series.
It follows Mackenzie, a girl who had always been the shadow of her twin sister —Madison. Madison had always been the prettier one, the smartest, the popular out of the two, and the most hated. Her arrogance made her difficult to like, and her hurtful behavior towards Mackenzie made me hate her, personally. Until one day, Madison is found dead. Murdered. Mackenzie’s devastated and vengeful. She has her reasons to be suspicious of a certain group of rich and spoiled guys, but doesn’t have to necessary proof that would lead to their conviction.
Years later, she finally gets the chance to approach these guys again. This time, she’s determined to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding her sister’s death. She thought nothing would get in her way, but she was wrong.
Baz Kingston is rich, powerful, irresistible. And he’s also a ‘member’ of the group Mackenzie wants to expose as her sisters murderers. Getting close to him could be dangerous, both to her heart and her mission.
This book came highly recommended to me and I am so happy I read it. S.M. Soto has been on my TBR for some time, but this is the first book of hers I have read. I loved the suspense, I loved the heat and chemistry, I loved the twin phenomenon thing, and I loved that I felt like I could follow the lies and truths an unknown. I felt like I really understood Mackenzie. I got her motivation, her need for the lies, her need for the truth, her draw to Baz. There were plenty of times I felt like screaming at her to take a different road, but I was never confused or mad at her for her decisions because I just got what was driving her. And Baz! Love Baz! With all the lies, with his connection to what happened 9 years ago and his friends, with everything that is going on there is one thing I am certain of and that is Baz is good. I went into this book expecting the massive cliffhanger and I can not wait to read the conclusion in Bury me With Lies.
Mackenzie Wright was in grade 12 with her twin sister, Madison, when she decides to attend her first bonfire party much to the opposition of Madison. Yet nothing goes as planned when Madison discovers that Mackenize has plans to meet up with the popular Trent Ainsworth and his friends later.
When Madison goes instead of Mackenize and ends up murdered, Mackenzie knows who is responsible but nobody believes her, even her own parents and she leaves town and heads across the States for a new beginning.
Now 9 years later Mackenzie sees a photograph which brings her back to that night and she is ready to get her revenge and learn the truth. Nothing will stop her, even if it costs her the ultimate sacrifice, her own life. But what she doesn’t expect is to fall for one of the men who may have killed Madison.
OMG this book was absolutely incredible!! It sucked me in from the first page and I couldn’t put it down – no matter how tired I was!!
I loved Mackenzie and it broke my heart what she went through being second fiddle to Madison growing up. I hated how apparent it was that her parents loved Madison more and I was shocked how fast they gave up on her and never believed anything she was saying. I completely understood why she needed a fresh new start in New York City and why she kept her past hidden from everyone.
The chemistry between Mackenzie and Baz King when they met was through the roof and so absolutely hot!!! I loved these two together and wanted more!
The first scene at the nightclub made me realize how much danger Mackenzie could be putting herself in. When she saw that all of the Savages were there but one things got super tense and I was shocked when everything else was revealed.
There were so many moments in the book that made me catch my breath wondering what was going to happen next and I was definitely scared when we learn the trouble that a few of the Savages have gotten themselves into yet they are constantly being rescued as to not damage any of the businesses that they are all associated with.
When there is a huge blow up and Baz gets mad at Mackenzie I was freaking out about what she was going to do and I was really hoping that he truly didn’t know what was going on. I was glad that Mackenzie left the papers but freaking out.
I was so worried at the end when Mackenzie went to get the proof she needed and I was definitely right to be worried! I was freaking when Vincent said everything that he did because it made me question everything!
I am totally freaking out and can’t wait for the next book!
By Rebecca
Just before senior year, Mackenzie’s had lost her twin sister Madison. The guilt had killed her as the years past by because it was her who was supposed to die that night not Madison. And the people responsible for Madison’s death never went to jail.
Nine years later, Madison has left California for good and is in New York. She has completely changed herself and went from being the nerdy, shy girl to a bitch. One day she is out with her friends, when she sees an article in the gossip magazines about the group of boys, now men responsible for Madison’s death living their best life’s.
She gets angry and decides its time to take matters into her own hands and comes up with a plan to get justice for her sister.
For that she changes her look completely and sets it to LA. Where she meets Baz King, the owner of the resort she is currently staying at. Baz wants to give Mackenzie “company” until her stay in LA is over. Mackenzie agrees because what’s the harm in sleeping with someone you aren’t ever going to meet again? Right?
Wrong because later she gets to know Baz’s full name is Sebastian and he was part of the group who was responsible for killing her sister.
Can Mackenzie use Baz to get the information she needs without without him finding out? Or will her feelings for him get in the way and she decides to ask for his help?
This book is book one from the series and it ends with a cliffhanger. AND OMG THAT CLIFFHANGER, I DONT BELIEVE IT! I CANT. No way.
The only issue I had with this book was Mackenzie got more obsessed with Baz than looking for her sisters killer. It became more about Baz and Mackenzie and less about her figuring out who all are responsible for her sisters death. And she fell for Baz too fast and cut him out of the suspect list too soon.
But also I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE SECOND BOOK BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH I KNOW WHAT THAT ASSHOLE SAID IN THE END IS A LIE BUT IDK WHAT IF ITS TRUE UGGHHH.
Full of mystery, thrill, entertainment, and unexpected turns, this romantic thriller has it all for a perfect book night. Can’t wait for book 2
A new to me author, I have seen many reviews for past books that has captured my attention so needed to check out this authors writing. What a great introduction, absolutely loved the revenge aspect. I love books where one of the main characters has an axe to grind and what a better one than a Murdered sister!!
From the get go I was pulled into this who dunnit; great characters and great twisted plot where lines get blurred. Whilst finishing on a cliffhanger and a re-evaluation I have a feeling all is not as it seems.
There’s something about a group of boys that form a secret society and are untouchable that intrigues me!
Holy Mind Freaking Blown!
This book! Where do I being? I was glued to this intense story for Mackenzie and Baz, I couldn’t put this book down even when I was at work reading. Their story will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I’m dying for answers, that ending as me with my jaw on the floor. I need the second book now.
5 Cranky Stars
Wow! This has a fantastic story line going through it leaving the book on a massive cliff hanger.
Maddison and Mackenzie were twins they were normal twins while growing up always there for each other. As they got older and Madison had the great looks, great body, great at everything and Mackenzie grew to be the opposite. Madison was horrible to her sister and did her down whenever she could. Everybody loved Madison and Mackenzie just stay in her shadow.
There was a beach party at the end of term which Madison had told Mackenzie she couldn’t go to as she wasn’t invited, but Mackenzie’s only friend convinced her to go. When they got there they sat on a log by the fire. Her friend asked if she minded if she went and mingled for a while and Mackenzie said she would be OK where she was.
Their were 5 good looking lads who went by the name Savages, Kenzie had a bit of a thing for Trent.
She sat on the log drinking beer as she really didn’t want to be here, when all of a sudden Trent was showing her some interest. They walked to the edge of the beach, here he kissed her and told her to meet him at the kissing rock later.
When Madison saw Kenzie with Trent she went mad and dragged Kenzie home where they had yet another fight. Kenzie told Madison that Trent was going to meet her at the Kissing Rock. No way was that happening so Madison crept out the house that fateful night to meet Trent at the Kissing Rock from then on in the book it jumps to nine years later.
Now the lies begin, a very twisted book I loved every page of it.
Don’t want to give spoilers away, but believe me the cliff hanger at the end is fantastic and I want to read the next book ASAP.
HOLY FREAKING MOLY!!!! I need more! How could it end like this?! This is a gripping, edge-of-your-seat, gut-wrenching, romantic suspense story!
Words cannot express how this story captured my attention, my heart, and my soul. The plot was phenomenal. It is very well-written and the pace of the story flows perfectly. There is not a part of this story that doesn’t dig in and grip your attention. It is shrouded in secrets, lies, betrayal, and mystery. There are shocking revelations, non-stop action, tragedy, suspense, twisted/scary moments, and sizzling chemistry.
Who can you trust? Can you trust the guys you’ve been friends with your entire life, guys that you would do anything for, and had? Sebastian “Baz” King will soon find out. I loved Baz! He was alpha, rich, loyal, and sexy. He knows what he wants and goes after it. He doesn’t do relationships. They only complicate life. When he sees Mackenzie aka “Scarlett”, he knows he has to have her, if only for one night. Once he has a taste, will that be enough of this beautiful, mysterious woman?
Mackenzie “Mack” “Kenzie” Wright was a doormat all of her life. She lacked confidence, and always stood in the shadow of her twin sister, Madison. When her twin is found brutally murdered, Mackenzie is devastated. Even years later, she will stop at nothing to prove who committed the crime. She is convinced that it is The Savages, a group over over-privileged, elite, spoiled, cocky, wealthy young men. They seem to be untouchable but they don’t know Mackenzie’s determination. Will Mack be able to pull off her disguise in order to fool The Savages & bring them to justice? Does Mack really have the right guys?
S.M. Soto takes us on a wild ride filled with angst, heartache, mystery, passion, and intrigue. The chemistry between Baz and Mack was undeniable, no matter how hard Mack tried to fight it. There were so many jaw-dropping twists, turns, and revelations. My head was spinning and my heart was in my throat! That ending! I can’t believe it ended that way. I need more now! I highly recommend reading this story if you like romantic suspense. It is mind-blowing.

This book…omg! I’m still sitting here after finishing it freaked out. Loved the mystery, suspense, steamy scenes…all of it. Just the right mix of tension and beginning romance to keep me addicted to the pages while my inner voice was screaming at Mackenzie to hurry up and not get caught. Now I just need more. Just how involved is Baz in what went down with Madison? This girl needs to know!
4.5 stars
Holy crap! This book totally took me by surprise! I can’t remember reading a book since Corrupt by Penelope Douglas, that gripped my nerves with it’s bare and ice cold hands and held me captive with fascinating thrill and angst.
And it is so HOT and steamy it should be requested to hold a gun licence. Usually I’m no big fan of relationships or lovestory that are at first mostly based on the couples intimate interaction. In addition to that, in this case, the whole relationship – in any way – is based on white lies and half trues. However, oh dear, how well this works for Mack and Baz. I couldn’t stop reading.
Kiss Me With Lies is a page turner par excellence! I simply couldn’t put it down. It held my mind captive and my eyes glued to the pages.
What a great book. I absolutely loved it. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way. The whole time I’m cheering for Baz and Mackenzie of course. This book has it all, intrigue, suspense, great storyline and lots of hot scenes with intense chemistry. I couldn’t put the book down! Those sex scenes were super delicious to read, I want a Baz in my life!!
OMG, that intense ending and that freakin cliffhanger…
I will definitely read more from this author.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started reading this book. But I was hooked from the first page, and could not put it down! It was so captivating! The twists and turns!! The cliffhanger ending!! It was phenomenal!!

“Can I let go, and let your memory dance
In the ballroom of my mind?
Across the county line
It hurts to love you, but I still love you
It’s just the way I feel
And I’d be lying if I kept hiding
The fact that I can’t deal
And that I’ve been dying
For something real.”

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Mackenzie Wright had a twin. She was murdered under strange circumstances that were never resolved. Years later, Mackenzie has found the courage to end the mystery and get revenge for her dead sister. She ends up in the webs of a wealthy playboy and his eerie friends. Everything’s not as it seems…
This is my first book by S. M. Soto. What a beautiful cover. One of the most gorgeous covers that I’ve seen this year! Book 2 is coming very soon (Bury Me With Lies, Twin Lies, #2) on April 6. This book was a page-turner mystery, living up to its title! Secrets were everywhere and it was a highly entertaining read. The characters endured inner struggles most of the time, adding more drama to an already tense story. Since the release for the sequel is coming only now, when I signed up and received an arc for book one, I kept procrastinating. With good reason. The cliffhanger leaves you confused. I don’t quite believe it, but it’s convincing enough for Mackenzie. Her relationship with her twin sister was complex. The desire and desperate need to solve her murder drove the poor girl to the end of her wits. She fought hard. She also got distracted pretty easily and she made stupid mistakes. I hope she rectifies her failures in Bury Me With Lies. I’m rooting for her to become a better version of herself. There was a scene at a Gala and I hope the author does more with that and doesn’t let it slide as a stepping stone to make us understand Mackenzie more. It worked; I definitely empathized with her more after that.
Baz… What can I say about him? He was a hot leading man. His intentions were sketchy, but simultaneously, I think there’s more to him. The steamy scenes between him and Mackenzie were endless and superb. Their chemistry was intense. I truly wonder what will happen to them in book 2. I have a couple of theories for book 2, but I can’t disclose them since they’d be spoilers and I can’t do that.
I recommend this read to anyone who enjoys steam of the good and worthy of your time kind, tortured and ready for redemption and revenge-type of heroines and mysterious bad boys that won’t let you take a peek behind the curtain.
“It took thirteen beaches to find one empty
But finally, it’s mine
With dripping peaches, I’m camera ready
Almost all the time.”
13 Beaches – Lana Del Rey
I loved this book.It was really good suspense novel with a lot of drama.
Mackenzie had to deal with the fact her sister is better at everything then her for her entire life. And then one night everything changed. Her sister was murdered and no one knows what happened that night.
Years later Mackenzie is trying to live her life as best as she can.She changed her-self a lot and she is seemingly happy with her life. When she stumbles on a photographer,Baz her life changes.Baz knows something about her pats, but she is not sure what and that is not enough to keep her away from him.The attraction is just too strong.
This review is spoiler free and so I won’t go into details. This book is suspenseful and it kept me on edge the whole time. The characters are nicely written and detailed. The story line is really great.Love with a lot of suspense and drama.
It can’t get better that that for me.
Yes! Yes! Yes! This is EVERYTHING! I loved every single second of this book.
