KISS ME TONIGHT: Put A Ring On It Book #2 By Maria Luis
Every time I pick up a book by Maria Luis, I know I am getting the complete package. There is a solid well written story line with great characters, even the secondary characters. The chemistry is hot, lots of witty banter that had me laughing out loud. This book has a strong, sexy hero. A smart, sassy heroine that is also a mature lady with a teenage son. ( I love that Aspen is 37 and not early 20’s.)
This is the story of Dominic and Aspen, the way they meet is surprising, hilarious and awesome! Aspen is a newly appointed high school coach for her hometown and Dom’s buddy who is the athletic director talks him into coming to coach after he suffers a job loss and wants a place to recoup. Dom is shocked to learn it was for the assistant coach as he has been a major football star with 2 super bowl championships, MVP, and host of a sports show. You have to read this one.
This is one great read, it is a 5 star book in my opinion. I loved it! Keep up the great work Maria, I am looking forward to seeing what you have planned in the next book.
Great Book! Wonderful story of starting over, overcoming your fears, and falling in love again! This book touches the heart with strength of the heroin, who needs to start over in her hometown as the HS Football coach! It is just the beginning when the Assistant Coach is none other than the towns ‘enemy’. Such funny scenes along with some heart jerking. Has you pulling for the underdog the whole time.
5 star review of Kiss Me Tonight (Put A Ring On It #2) by Maria Luis
Maria Luis is a new author to me. Although this is book 2 in the series I had no problem reading this one as a stand alone. I loved how into football Aspen was, in fact it was this that prompted me to sign up fro read and review this book.
Single mum Aspen Levi has returned to her hometown to take up a job as the high school’s football coach. It’s hard to come home when the majority of people feel she betrayed them when she left. This was a read with plenty of humour and laugh out loud moments. Ms.Luis wove a story that was realistic and at times heart wrenching.
I really loved Aspen’s character, she seems like someone I could be friends with. Dominic is a man who has been portrayed as an insensitive womaniser, but there is so much more to him than that. His concern and care for children made me smile.
I loved the dynamic between Aspen and her son as she struggled to raise him by herself. I also loved the banter between Aspen and Dominic, not to mention the fireworks.
Dominic and Aspen were well matched and I really wanted them to get their happily ever after. They both have been scarred by their past and yet both are determined to make the most of life.
Kiss Me Tonight is the absolute sweetest book I’ve read this year. I loved watching two extremely tough characters fight for their own happy endings. Dominic and Aspen are some of the best characters that Maria Luis has ever written!
Luis has done it again. In no time at all, Dominic and Aspen had their hooks in me – call me driven, compelled, obsessed, or hypnotized – and I was helpless to do anything but keep reading (until 3 AM, thank you very much!) to find out how their delightful, heartfelt story ended.
You may know that Dominic DaSilva is a retired, Super Bowl champion (football romance, anyone?) who becomes infamous on the reality dating show, Put A Ring On It, but now he’s hiding out in the small coastal town of London, Maine, from both the paparazzi and the author of that horrible celebrity blog, Celebrity Tea Presents. (Boy, oh boy, do I ever want to see that dang blog author get his comeuppance!) When Dom takes his college buddy up on the offer to coach the high school football team he has no idea that he’s the assistant coach or that the head coach is a woman.
Aspen Levi returns home to London with her teenage son, licking her wounds after finally divorcing her despicable husband of fifteen years and a marriage that almost broke her. She was raised on football, having a father and grandfather who both played professionally and went on to coach the London High School Wildcats. She broke every record as a place kicker at Boston College and has years of coaching under her belt, so she’s the perfect choice to coach the Wildcats.
Let’s just say, it’s about as far from love at first sight as you can get when Aspen and Dom enter each other’s orbits. If it’s not bad enough that she doesn’t recognize Dom when she encounters him at the local pub (if that isn’t a hit to the ego) and Aspen’s intolerance for Guinness causes her to epically embarrass herself, her son manages to get a little too up close and personal with Dom’s truck on the first day of practice. Oops. In spite of this less-than-stellar beginning, Dom and Aspen soon realize they are kindred spirits with the obstacles they’ve overcome and hurts that still need healing, and their professional relationship grows into more.
If you like your romance with the perfect balance of humor, heat and heart then Maria Luis is your gal. And once you read one of her novels, you’ll be binge reading your way through her back catalog. Dom and Aspen are both so endearing with their baggage and vulnerable side, and the way they overcome and grow together is truly inspiring. Their story is full of epic laughs (teenage boys — need I say more?) and heart-tugging moments (the boy from the foster care system finds a family of his own making), and these characters will own your heart!
While the mention of the foster care system could be letting the cat out of the bag (but you don’t know which character, and there are definitely some surprises) it’s something that holds a special place in my heart and bears mentioning. There are so many kids in the foster care system who need love and guidance and so many ways to help outside of becoming a foster parent. There are many mentoring programs where adults share a few hours of their time with a child in need, and local schools and churches are a great place to start. Brava, Ms. Luis, for highlighting something so important.
This book is, by turns, poignantly emotional and hysterically funny, creating the best kind of emotional whiplash that leaves the reader on a euphoric high. These admirable, endlessly endearing characters will work their way deep inside and you’ll be disheartened upon saying goodbye but feel enormously blessed to have known them. I don’t know how she does it, but Luis just keeps topping herself with each new book. Dom and Aspen’s story is amazingly special in so many ways, and you’ll definitely want to grab your copy today. I promise, you won’t be sorry!

4.5 Stars
This is the second book in the series and it’s just as good as the first. I was instantly sucked into this book. It’s a enemies to lovers book. I had second hand embarrassment a couple times with these characters. I enjoyed the humor in this book as well. Dominic is yummy. His rubs Aspen the wrong way, well they each other the wrong way until they realize there is more to them Then meets the eye. Being forced to coach together soon has them opening their eyes to look deeper than the surface. Ashen and Dominic have the scorching chemistry, but they also have playful banter that’s just perfect for them. There is a lot of playful humor, but there are also some serious hit you in the heart moments. This a book you can’t put down, but one you hate to see end.
Dominic is a retired football star and was on a reality tv show until he was fired. Now he’s in Maine living next to Aspen and her son. Aspen drives him crazy with her temperament and not to mention she’s gorgeous. The sparks fly between these two from the first meeting. A great single mom read.
Kiss Me Tonight is so real and engaging. The beginning of chapter 4 gave me such flashbacks to my youngest daughter. I easily lost myself in the story. Aspen is a complete badas$ and I want to be like her when I grow up. Her patience and strength concerning Dominic was admirable. She gave him the room to be himself, but also see there was room to grow and change. Dominic was pretty amazing. I loved how accepting of Aspen he was. The scene with Rick, who is completely vile, at the bar just highlighted how awesome Aspen and Dom’s relationship was. He let her fight her own battle and loved her for it! Can’t wait for the third book!
Could not put it down!! Maria Luis always gives me the perfect read that I can’t put down!!
Maria Luis is a new author to me but not for long, I need to read book 1 in this series.
Kiss Me Tonight was well written, it has me from the first chapter, I couldn’t put the book down. I loved the storyline and the characters, especially Aspen. My favorite characters are strong women, that don’t follow society norms, as a football coach Aspen definitely was a hit with me.
This book is full of emotions, highs that make you smiles and lows that bring tears to your eye, with some steamy chemistry.
HOT HOT HOT!
Steamy, fun and romantic! love it!
Kiss Me Tonight is the second title in the Put A Ring On It series, and features Dom and Aspen.
Hold Me Today was my first time reading Maria Luis work, and in it we were introduced to Dominic DaSilva, and I couldn’t wait for his story, to see the playboy bought to his knees.
Both Dom and Aspen are incredibly complex character, they are layered with deep vulnerabilities and insecurities gained from the baggage of their pasts. Both are looking to start over in London, Maine, and neither are on the look out for a love interest.
Aspen is my type of heroine she’s strong, independent, resilient, and a single mother. She breaks all stereotypes as a high school football coach, who whilst badass and ambitious, she’s also loving, patient and compassionate.
Dom is a dynamic, broken character who hides his vulnerabilities behind bravado. He’s a retired NFL player, who despite his upbringing has a huge loving heart. There’s a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to Dominic DaSilva.
The chemistry, banter and interactions are witty, fun, flirtatious and argumentative, but also completely honest and raw. The chemistry between this pair is incredibly intense and whilst the love scenes are hot, it’s the unlikely friendship and emotional connection this pair shares that drew me into their story.
I highly recommend Kiss Me Tonight if you love a small town contemporary romance with equal parts heat, heart and humor.
Kiss Me Tonight by Maria Luis is the second book in her Put A Ring On It series, but the first I read. Even so, I did not feel like I was missing anything. This is the story of Dominic and Aspen and I just loved it. As a sports fan and a huge lover of football, it gave me such a thrill to see a woman coach. It made me love this story even more than I already did!
Aspen Levi is a single mom who grew up loving football. Now she is back home and coaching the local football team. I loved how strong and determined she was. Dominic may have been a lot of things, but he was a good man once you truly knew him. Their chemistry was intense, even when they went back and forth. They had such amazing chemistry and banter. I loved their story so much.
Kiss Me Tonight by Maria Luis was such a great read. I loved the interactions between Aspen and Dominic, as well as with her son. I also loved the emotional aspect of this story as well. Such a great read and one I recommend.
4.5-stars. Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
This book had a great storyline!! I loved how they know each other, and how they met “officially”.
Aspen and Dom meet at the bar one night, and she’s waaayyy too drunk. Little do they know, they’ll be working together. They have to keep it profesh for the kids, and they’re bickering back and forth isn’t helping things.
They have another run in when Aspen’s son Topher hits Dom’s truck, and Dom has him repay him for the damages by helping with his house remodel.
Things happen with the football team they’re coaching, and Dom starts to see the real Levi come out, and he’s falling for her. Little does Levi know, that she’s starting to fall for Dom.
I love that Dom makes her count her blessings from time to time, and during some pretty funny moments too!
This book did start out a little slow for me. Aspen’s inner thoughts were a bit much for me, so I did skim some to get through it. I did love Dom’s POV on things though.
Some of my fave quotes from the book:
1. Go home brain. You’re drunk. – LOL!!!
2. Also, unless I’m mistaken, I think he’s free-balling it…. – ROFL!!!! She finds the truth later on!
3. “But I think what you need is a night of fun. An orgasm would probably do it for you.” – GO Aspen!
4. “Don’t ever touch me like you did tonight unless you plan to do something about it.” – Aspen realises that she wants him to touch her!
“I voluntarily chose to review an advanced copy of this book”
Dom has not had an easy life, he has also not made it easier for himself, he has always had one thing “Football” until he didn’t. Now lost and looking to start over he finds himself in London. Only he gets more than he could ever imagine.
Aspen “Levi” and her son Topher are starting over in her home town London. She has just walked away from 15 years of marriage. What she does know is her love for her son and her love for football. Starting as head coach for her old school just like her Father and Grandfather is her new beginning. What she doesn’t bargain for is the “Hulk” know as DaSilva who she is not a fan of.
This story is full of strong, powerful, heartfelt connections as Dom, Aspen, and Topher learn what it is to be truly loved your heart will melt with them. The characters are written as strong independent people which you will admire. This book is just swoon worthy. You will laugh with the characters, you will feel for them, you will be over joyed for them. Maria has done another excellent job of writing and pulling you in to the story. This series has proven to be another of her greats you do not want to miss. I look forward to reading about Savannah and Owen as I just know it is their turn to have their story told! Click yes, don’t miss this purchase!
OH GOOD GAWD FOLKS, KISS ME TONIGHT WAS EFFING FANTASTIC! So steamy, so sexy, So. Much. Fun. I loved how put together and entertaining as hell this story was! Maria Luis put a giant smile on my face and gave me something extra special with this book, that’s for sure.
Aspen and Dom are completely irresistible together and the sparks that fly between them was filled with unforgettable energy and crackled with passion. And there was some great scenes that made me big time, LOL! With Kiss Me Tonight there was a PERFECT mix of heart and romance that left me breathless. I can’t wait to read this again!
Kiss Me Tonight gets a FANTASTIC FIVE CRACKLING STARS!
Ah! Enemies to lovers? She’s his boss? I love it!!
Oh. Em. Gee. This book was freaking amazing! I loved the chemistry between Aspen & Dom!! Their banter kept the pages turning, and whew….those steamy scenes between them were HOT!!
I love that we got to see them both grow from their pasts and come together to find happiness and love.
So we knew I mean knew that we were going to love it, has there really been a book that Maria has written that we don’t love? I know you don’t even have to answer. I was anxiously yup anxiously waiting for Dom’s book and she delivered yet again, again did you doubt? Of course not..This book has you laughing, yelling and seriously wanting to go thru the book and slap Aspens jerk of an ex, what a sleaze.. I wont get into it because I would be robbing you of the enjoyment that is going to be your time in reading this book..Love You Maria and thanks again!!!
