What do you do when you’re the reigning kissing booth champion but the only person you want to kiss is your best friend’s brother?
Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women. Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh-freakin’-uh.I do care that he’s doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain–making him my … behind a gaudy velvet curtain–making him my competition in this year’s kissing contest.
Why do I care, you ask? Because I’ve had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it’s never going to happen.
He’s the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I’m the Creek Falls racoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.
I’m not going to let him break my four-year-long reign–no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he’s not allowed to:
Kiss me.

Kiss Me Not is such a cute, laugh out loud read that you will fall in love with. I love Halley and Preston. Their banter and bets will make you laugh to the point of tears. Halley is so full of heart and I just love how she is with the wildlife. Let’s just say you will love Boris and the rest of the trash panda’s. Preston is so swoon-worthy. You can’t help but fall in love with him. I love the chemistry between Halley and Preston. I want to say so much about this book, but I’m afraid I’ll give a lot away in doing so. I’ll just say this you will laugh so hard throughout this one and you will be left fanning yourself over Preston and Halley too. Kiss Me Not is a phenomenal start to the Kiss Me series. I for one can’t wait for more to come. Go pick this one up today.
Halley is the quirky yet adorable town librarian with a big heart. Her one claim to fame in town is being the reigning champion when it comes to the kissing booth but this year, she may have met her match. Her rival happens to be her best friend’s brother Preston who also happens to be the one guy she can’t stop thinking about.
Preston has been attracted to his best friend’s sister for as long as he can remember but they have never crossed that line. He is the perfect combination of sexy and sweet which has every woman in town after him except the one he really wants.
As the battle between them wages to see who will emerge the victor, they may just realize that the only people they want to kiss is each other.
Hot chemistry and humorous banter will have you both laughing out loud and swooning. Not only were Halley and Preston great characters but the secondary characters draw you in and leaving you wanting their stories as well.
Kiss Me Not is a sweet, sexy and hilarious story that made my day! This best friend’s brother romance is a quick read that will have you wanting more! Halley is the kissing booth extraordinaire but when her secret crush Preston is her competition, you are in for one fantastic story!
Another funny, sassy, quirky and easy read by Emma.
Hayley is the kissing booth queen and has been for the last five years at the local town fair held every year. In an attempt to give her some competition, her dad the town Mayor, enlists the help of her best friend’s brother, Preston, and be her competitor in kissing booth this year.
This is all well and good, the money goes to charity, and who can resist a little competition and Hayley never loses… except she has had a crush on Preston since forever. She doesn’t want to sit and listen to him kissing a long line of women who want to get their hands on the town’s most eligible bachelor.
Preston can’t believe he’s let himself get roped into this, he himself has had a crush on Hayley for a long time, why put himself through this?? But he’s finding it very hard to fight his attraction, so knowing she always takes bets decides to have a bet with her, the winner get to kiss the other!
Full of great witty banter, sass, and lots of kissing and an adorable group of racoons! A fun, quick and easy read.
Librarian Halley Dawson is the Creek Falls Kissing Booth Champion and she has no intention of losing her crown any time soon. Too bad Halley’s competition this year is her longtime crush Preston Wright, the hottest guy in Creek Falls. What happens when Preston bets Halley that he’ll kiss more people than her, and that whoever loses has to line up on the other side of the booth and add another kiss to the winner’s tally?
Kiss Me Not is a funny, drama-filled and sweet story that you’ll read in one go
I really enjoyed this start to a new series from Emma Hart. I was highly amused from the very beginning as Emma entertained and enticed me from the very first page.
I think Halley is one of my favourite of Emma’s heroines. Shes sassy, strong-willed, sweet, down to earth and I just loved her relationships with her best friends. The banter and wit was thoroughly entertaining.
Halley is the Kissing Booth Champion of Creek Falls for the last four years. The mayor of the town (her father) decides she needs to tougher competition and enlists her best-friends-brother, Preston, as her competitor. Unbeknownst to him Halley has had a crush on him for years so this is never going to go well.
Emma brought out her A-Game with this one with her sense of humour and the storyline honestly had me laughing out loud so often.
Throw in Racoons (especially Boris and Betty) and best friends and you will not want to put this book down once you start.
I can’t wait to see what hilarity Emma brings us with book 2 Kiss Me Tonight
Halley’s kissing booth competition this year is Preston, her best friend’s brother, the man on whom she’s had a huge crush most of her life. But it doesn’t phase her at all. Right? Right…
Kiss Me Not is cute, sweet and seriously fun. I loved Preston and Halley together! Adorable is the word that comes to mind. There’s so much chemistry between these two. It’s been literally years that the feelings have built up, so it’s no surprise there are sparks everywhere around them. I love how their competition never waned, but how they slowly admitted the real feelings they had for each other. Preston and Halley are not the only reason Kiss Me Not is so good, though. The secondary cast is as fabulous as the two leads. Grandma and Aunt Bethel. Let’s just say if my Grandma and Aunt were like them I’m not sure how I would have survived my growing up years .
As you can see, I fell in love with this story. Now I am impatiently looking forward to Kiss Me Tonight and Kiss Me Again!

Favorite Quotes:
I was woefully single to the point that the only date I had was with the raccoons who lived in the woods behind my house.
“Bite me, Preston.” “That can be arranged… should you want it to be literal, it can be arranged.” He gave me a wolfish smile. “There’s no shame in a little nibble, Halley.” He punctuated that with a wink. Why was my mouth dry? What was happening?
“You do, don’t you? … You have an entire emergency kit.” “You never know when you’re going to get stranded in the dark, in a place with no cell signal, and no civilization for miles. Also, there might be zombies.”
“Wow. You are a hard woman to please.” “Not really. Wine, yoga pants, raccoons, books… I’m fairly simple.”
My Review:
Emma Hart is relatively new to me; this is only my third time picking up one her riotously funny tales and I am kicking myself for not discovering this clever minx years ago. Kiss Me Not is the start of a new series and I am all in for whatever Ms. Hart wants to throw down – unless she starts writing zombie stories – those would probably be a no-go. Penned in my favorite dual POV, her writing sparkled and zinged with witty and irreverent banter, a trio of feisty and sassy friends, and smirk-a-minute levity at a lively and snappy pace. I adored it!
Halley and Preston were hilarious!!!!! They’ve had crushes on each other but they didn’t know, lol. They both thought that the other didn’t like the other. He was her best friend oldest brother but yet they were good together. She was quirky and he loved it. A kissing booth brought these two together and everything about it was funny. Cute read!!
4.5 stars
What a refreshing easy to read entertaining story!
I found Halley to be a quirky but rather endearing character who really had no real filter! She had some great best friends that you definitely wouldn’t mind being friends with!
I also loved the fact that although Preston became her opponent in The Kissing Both at the town fair, needless to say the heart wants what the heart might want???
I really liked Preston, the way he was with those near him and a genuinely nice guy!
I really enjoyed the banter, the texts and the family members that made this story a fun one to read! Im excited for more of this new series!

Kiss Me Not is uber cute! Halley is nerdy, funny, and a little sassy. Preston is a good guy and has a great vibe with Halley. They are fighting their attraction so hard it’s quite funny. I really enjoyed the build up on tension and love how much Preston just takes charge with it. My only wish was that there was some more heat and not just the super cute stuff. I can’t remember ever enjoying some racoons so much! Definitely an entertaining one!
4 stars!
Halley Dawson is the five-time champion of the annual Creek Falls Kissing Booth competition. As this years contest approaches, Halley finds out that she is going up against Preston Wright, the hottest guy in town and her best friend’s brother.
For the first time ever Halley faces real competition. It doesn’t help that Preston happens to be the star of her dreams. Now, she’ll have to listen to him kissing other women, wishing he was kissing her, all while collecting as many of her own kisses as she can.
Kiss Me Not is a sweet, fun, angst free read with sweet and hilarious characters that will warm your heart as they fall in love. Halley is one of a kind. Beautiful, quirky, sarcastic, and fun, it was so fun getting into her head. Preston is sweet, swoony, gorgeous, and not your usual player. Though they’ve known each other for years, they have never really had one-on-one time together. Things change when they end up running the kissing booth together.
The banter keeps things light but the more time Halley and Preston spend together alone the more the sexual tension grows. The attraction is clear as day but neither want to acknowledge it until a bet has them sharing a kiss.
“It was a simple kiss, but at the same time, it was a perfect one. I’d never had one like it before, and I doubted I’d ever have another quite the same.”
I loved that Preston wanted to take a chance. He seemed to go all in and he was so sweet to Halley while still being silly. Halley had a few insecurities that she had to work through and I thought her character was well developed. I loved her “pets” and couldn’t stop from giggling whenever they were brought up.
Halley and Preston shared some passionate kisses, and though it wasn’t too steamy, the progression of the romance was realistic. I didn’t miss the lack of sexy times and we do finally feel Halley and Preston bring the heat at the end.
I really enjoyed the secondary characters. Reagan and Ava are a hoot and I loved their friendship with Halley. They are sarcastic and silly, and I want more. I also liked seeing Lauren and Mason from The Accidental Girlfriend again. And then there were the raccoons. Hilarious!!
Overall, Kiss Me Not is a fun standalone in the new Kiss Me series and I am excited for more. Reagan’s story, Kiss Me Tonight is coming in September and I can’t wait to meet her mystery man!
Another great read from Emma Hart.
Whenever I see a new read from Emma pop up, I know that I am going to be in store for a treat. Every single one of her novels is delicious. They are always original and unique, and even better yet, they are full of romance, and hilarious moments.
Kiss Me Not was just the book I needed. Halley and Preston are two characters who will constantly have you LOL’ing the entire time you are reading. The constant banter between these two is something that you never knew you needed in your life. Their connection is undeniable, and are all around adorable.
Definitely enjoyed this novel, and look forward to another one from Emma Hart.
4/5 Stars!
This was okay for me. The writing wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t pulled in from the start. Halley was okay, but her attitude did annoy me after awhile. I did like Preston for the most part. While I love banter between characters most of the time, in this story, it was like they couldn’t have a conversation without the whole thing being snarky. It started to feel like everyone was constantly arguing with each other. I could tell that Preston and Halley were going to be good together, but sadly this book is low on the heat. Preston and Halley do get their HEA, which is always a plus.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
This book is exactly why I love Emma Hart. If I could have, I would have sat down and not moved until I was done with it, because it was so funny and so good! This author totally knows how to relate to things that I think about every day. I connect so much with the characters, even when they might not be anything like me really! It didn’t hurt that the main character in this, Halley, was a librarian, because that’s my job! So many jokes that were just written perfectly into the story. Boob sweat was one that perfectly hit right now with the heat of summer still lingering around into September as it always does around here.
And then, then there is the fish that Preston named Uranus. As with every book by this author, there is always one scene that I end up laughing so hard as I’m reading that if my dogs are snuggling with me, I disturb them and they jump up and give me dirty looks. Not to mention the part where Preston asks Halley to “Hold Uranus for a minute” and her response to that is what had me laughing so hard, and I still get the giggles that are hard to stop whenever I think about that part. And also as usual, there were the grandmothers and great aunts that were as hilarious as any other character in the book. I loved that we also got to spend a little time with some characters from one of the author’s other books, The Accidental Girlfriend. I was staying up reading last night, and finally had to put the book down to go to sleep since I had to work this morning. I really wished it was still summer, or maybe the weekend even, so that I could have stayed up all night to finish reading it.
I’m extremely glad for more books in the series, because I can’t wait to see what romance has in store for Halley’s friends!
When I read the blurb, I knew I had to read this book. It sounded all kinds of fun…I mean we are talking about a “kissing booth” here !!
I can gladly say that I definitely had a good time recording this one. The heroine was all kinds of “sassy” and there were plenty of “laugh out loud” moments.
Now, what would you do if you were the reigning “kissing booth” champion and you would be getting new competition….in the form of the hot guy you have had a crush on for like forever. Having to listen to him kissing all these other girls !!
Thankfully, Preston was also a great hero…so no worries 😛
If you are looking for something light, fun and romantic, I definitely recommend this book. I myself can’t wait for the next one, and I will also be checking any other books by this author, since I am a bit late to the party 😉

Kiss Me Not was a fun read. It started off slow but goit better with every page.
A romantic comedy it didn’t disappoint. There are some great one liners they will have you in tears laughing. What I enjoyed the most was the main character Halley and her friends, all strong women, full of sassy and with limited filters.
You just know that any book with peanut butter sandwich eating raccons has to be funny.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I was in dire need off a good laugh and thankfully Emma Hart came through with Kiss Me Not.
A book so witty and funny I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. I especially loves the dialogue between the main characters – she’s the Queen of snark and hilarious banter.
An other thing I love about this book is the supporting characters. They’re developed in such a way that I can’t help but being intrigued and wanting to get to know them better.
Kiss Me Not by Emma Hart is the first book in her Kiss Me series. A funny, sarcastic, romantic comedy that centers around three best friends and their unlikely matches. This story in particular focuses on the reigning kissing booth champion and her best friends brother who also happens to be this years kissing booth competition. Creek Falls is a perfect small town setting and Halley and Preston are a wonderful introduction to another small town romance from one of my favorite authors. Add in some quirky grandparents, a family of tame-ish raccoons and this story was complete.
Kiss Me Not is the first book in the Kiss Me series by the funny and talented Emma Hart. I love when one of my favorite authors starts a new series, it just makes me giddy! Kiss Me Not is sweet, funny, adorable and a best friend’s brother romance. It’s more romance and fun banter than sexy and I really enjoyed that! Sometimes I don’t want angst, I just want a fun romance. Halley is a complicated woman. She’s a librarian, the mayor’s daughter and the reigning champion of the town fair’s kissing booth. She has an interesting challenger this year. Her best friend’s brother, who she’s been crushing on for years. Preston is hot, sexy, funny and doesn’t know what he got himself into. He and Halley aren’t really friends, but there’s something there. Lots of tension and sarcasm and he can’t help but really like Halley. She’s perfect to him and he can’t seem to stay away from her. He wants a kiss. Just one. What could possibly go wrong? This story was super cute! I loved their banter. It was hilarious and sweet with a side of fun sexual innuendo. Halley’s best friends are freaking hilarious and I can’t wait to read their stories! Preston is totally swoonworthy with his scruff, his smile and his love of flowers. Halley is smart, pretty and just trying to be the best person she can be. I loved that she feeds the raccoons outside her house and talks to them. Overall, I laughed my a** off and loved the sexual tension and witty banter.
“You’re thinking about food, aren’t you?” Preston nudged me with his elbow.
“No. Why do you say that?”
“Because you keep looking at the hot donut stand like it has all the answers to your problems.”
“It’s a hot donut stand. Of course it has the answers to my problems.”
ME: I’m not most people.
PRESTON: That might be one of my favorite things about you.
