What do you do when you’re the reigning kissing booth champion but the only person you want to kiss is your best friend’s brother?
Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women. Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh-freakin’-uh.I do care that he’s doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain–making him my … behind a gaudy velvet curtain–making him my competition in this year’s kissing contest.
Why do I care, you ask? Because I’ve had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it’s never going to happen.
He’s the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I’m the Creek Falls racoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.
I’m not going to let him break my four-year-long reign–no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he’s not allowed to:
Kiss me.
more
This is an easy-going, delightful book to read. It was funny, sweet and romantic all rolled into one. With amazing quirky, hilarious secondary characters, a whole family of raccoons who love peanut butter sandwiches, this book will have you laughing out loud all the way through.
Halley and Preston, two people in denial of their feelings for each other placed in a kissing booth competition on the annual fair in their town where they live. Awkward or what!!! Halley has had a crush on her best friends brother Preston for as long as she can remember but doesn’t feel good enough for him, so she keeps those feelings to herself. A cute librarian who often has her nose in a book, she always has an answer for Preston’s sarcastic teasing remarks which makes this story so special. I adored the things that came out of Halley’s mouth where Preston was concerned, she gave a good as she got, sometimes even better.
Preston is so so sweet and really a total gentleman even though most of the female population were queuing up to pay for a kiss-off this most eligible bachelor in town, Preston only has eyes for one girl.
Once again this author has worked her magic developing these characters that at times had me in stitches. Perfect!
A funfair, a kissing booth, and two rivals who have a secret crush on each other. Cuteness alert!
I find this author’s sense of humour quite quirky and snarky. Perfect for some naughty fun in the middle of a cute romance. This first book in a series about three friends starts off with a librarian with a penchant for racoons. She might come off as angry, but she’s harbouring a deep emotional craving for the rich hottie in town, the seemingly notorious and undeniably handsome Preston. And this year’s fair, they have a kissing challenge to win.
It’s non-stop fun for this enemies to lovers rom-com because he knows how to push her buttons and I loved every minute of it. Food, kissing competitions, girl time with lots of ice-cream and hilarious dialogues, animal shenanigans, and a couple in the making that banters and toys with indifference until kisses make it all real and bothered.
Ah, the first kiss! It’s magical, and totally worth the wait.
I had a lot of fun with the general craziness of friends, relatives, racoons and the push-and-pull between Preston and Halley. The funfair in this little town was a great setting, and the fireworks really explode when this couple admit their feelings. Cute, sarcastic and a pinch of hot mix well in this little town. I’m quite hopeful for the next book because the premise is too dirty to pass up
Halley has the best of friends, they got her and quirkiness. They all knew how she felt about Preston which she denied, denied, denied. These three bet on everything and Halley usually wins. Their bets are usually pretty funny!
Then she finds out that Preston is the other contestant at the kissing booth. She has to listen to him kissing other women and li stening to the women in line talking about him. She doesn’t like it one bit. Here’s the thing though, he doesn’t like listening to her kissing other guys. He wants it to be him that she kisses but means it. So what else can he do but bet with her?
I absolutely loved Preston! He listened to what Halley was saying and letting her know how he saw her. What he saw when he looked at her and how he felt. He wasn’t shy about it but just let it all out there. He was such a sweetheart!
Will Halley believe Preston though. She thinks he can do better than her but Preston is trying really hard to change the way she sees herself.
Kiss Me Not was a seriously hilarious page turner, that was light and fluffy. It was super sweet with witty dialogue that is to die for. A simple story line with amazing characters, and secondary characters. The chemistry was kinetic. The relationships, rather that be friendships or more were astronomical. I seriously could not ask for a better short read.
Halley the mayors daughter is truly one of a kind. She has the best of friends. She hates math, and thinks bugs are gross. She is the reigning champion for the kissing both contest. Supports charities and is a librarian.
Prescott is not your average hero. His job consists of flowers. He is light, and honestly a breathe of fresh air. He has an amazing personality, with a witty mind.
Kiss Me Not is that novella that you don’t want to miss.
*I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK

Kiss Me Not is a laugh out loud, standalone, super sweet romance. I am a sucker for anything Emma Hart writes and this one instantly grabbed my attention from the super amazing illustrated cover to the blurb, but once I started reading the book I was HOOKED.
Halley is the town fair’s kissing booth champion, her competition this year is Preston, her best friends brother and someone she can’t stand. But the more time they spend together the more their attraction towards one another comes to the surface. There is no denying the chemistry between these two. Their banter was fantastic.
I loved that Preston wasn’t a player, sure he was attractive and all the woman in town were in his line for the kissing booth, but he didn’t go around trying to hook up with all of them. Despite kissing hundreds, he had his eyes on just one woman, Halley. He was super sweet and romantic, though at times kind of an idiot when it came to the racoons, but he learned quickly.
I love Halley and her group of friends and their betting. I was dying of laughter when these girls were together. Their bond is amazing. I am looking forward to their books in the future. This book was full of great secondary characters from Halley’s friends, to the racoons (trust me, you have to read this to understand the love for the racoons), Grandma and Aunt Bethel.
If you are looking for a laugh out loud, super sweet romance this is definitely one to read!
Absolutely adorable! I loved this story and these characters so much. I found myself laughing out loud from the first page. It had me smiling and swooning and I didn’t want it to end. I completely adore Emma Hart’s writing and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Kiss Me Not was a funny, laugh out loud story from Emma Hart. Emma is one of my favorite writers for this genre and she always guarantees to bring heat, angst and some sassy, snarky heroines to counter the hot alpha males she brings to life as well as leaving me smiling at the end. This book delivered on all counts.
Hannah is the kissing booth champion and has been for the last four years. This year however she has a new competitor, in the form of one of her best friends’ brother. Preston is determined to take Halley down, any way he can.
These two pretend to hate each other, but really it’s the other side of the coin that hiding behind their unrequited crushes. This was a fast, fun flirty story and now I’m looking forward to reading the other two.
Halley is the town sweetheart. Her father is the mayor, and she works at the library, she is also the reigning champ of the kissing booth at the town fair. However this year, her reign may be over, when her childhood crush becomes her competition for the kissing booth champion. Preston Wright is the most eligible bachelor in Creek Falls. He may have accepted to be Halley’s challenger, but he has ulterior motives for that. The fair is one week, can Halley and Preston make it through the week without strangling each other, or even worse, kissing each other?
‘Kiss Me Not’ is the true definition of romantic comedy. The sass and snark from Halley made her one of my favorite heroines. There is nothing I love more than sarcasm and Halley has sarcasm down. This book was quick and light read with just the right amounts of romance added in. Throw in the fact that Halley makes sandwiches for the raccoons in her life and that adds just a little bit of quirky to this book. Emma Hart writes such lighthearted books that have me laughing out loud. I’m ready for book two!
What a fun introduction to a new series by Emma Hart!!
Kiss Me Not is a funny, sweet romance. Set in a town fair with a kissing booth.
Halley is the reigning queen of the Creek Falls Kissing Booth. She takes her crown seriously, just like she takes her love of trash pandas. LOL! I enjoyed reading about her relationship with her “neighbors”.
Preston is the town catch, the most eligible bachelor and Halley’s newest competition for the kissing booth championship.
This story was so enjoyable to read! Halley’s friendship with Regan and Ava was fantastic and every girl needs a squad like that!
The dialogue between the characters was fast and witty and made me laugh out loud!
The slow burn between Preston and Halley was fantastic and I was cheering them on until the very end!
I cannot wait to see Regan’s story next and I loved how Ms. Hart set up her story next!!
If you are looking for a sweet, slow burn of a story, get your hands on this!!

Another delightful romantic comedy from the queen of romcoms, the first book in Kiss Me series will tickle your funny bone and make you swoon at Preston.
Preston Wright’s family owns the successful floral shop in the small town of Creek Falls. He is also the older brother of Reagan, Halley’s best friend. Preston, the most eligible bachelor in town and Halley, the mayor’s daughter don’t seem to get along. And then they find themselves as competitors in the annual town fair’s Kissing Booth fundraiser. Will they finally kiss and make up or make out?
Halley Dawson is the sexy librarian and is also known as the crazy raccoon lady of Creek Falls. She has been the Kissing Booth champ for the last four years and she doesn’t plan to relinquish that title to Preston. But spending time together might just thaw out her coldness towards him.
Narrated in dual points of view, this romantic comedy is a pleasure to read. Preston and Halley’s chemistry are undeniable. Preston is the swoony hero whose smouldering looks will set your knickers on fire. He is rich and doesn’t sleep around, he is just perfect! There are so many funny moments and hilarious dialogue amongst the characters that will make you giggle.
This book is full of memorable characters: Halley’s best friends Ava and Reagan, the two eccentric grandmas and Halley’s regular night time guests, a family of raccoons whose needs are catered to by the kind-hearted heroine. This is a slow burn romance and the only sexy scenes are at the last chapter but it is worth the wait, sometimes less is more and I am glad that the author made it that way considering the timeline of the story. This trio of sassy, smart and independent ladies are such unforgettable characters and I cannot wait to read Ava and Reagan’s stories.
Halley Dawson is the queen of the kissing booth, every year she sets up her booth, hands out kiss after kiss, and always claims the top prize as Creek Falls best kisser. But this year could be a little tougher to win than the rest… cause her father has signed up Creek Falls sexiest bachelor Preston Wright to man the competitors booth. This might just be the worst thing to happen to Halley ever… watching her crush pass out kisses to every woman in town, but her is sure to be torturous!
Between the pages of Kiss Me Not readers will discover a charming little tale brimming with heat, humor and loads of heart! This story was so much fun to devour, it had a welcoming small town vibe, a charismatic cast of characters that stole my heart, and a one-of-a-kind story line that had me giggling and blushing throughout! Who knew a kissing booth could cause such an uproar, these two were quite the fierce competitors, neither wanted to lose, but neither wanted to admit that they had a thing for one another either. Their little competition stirred up all sorts of heat and hilarity between the pages… it was an absolute hoot to watch it all unfold! If you like small town romantic comedies, then I highly suggest you check this one out, you’ll love what you find waiting for you!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Hart has a talent for breaking a heart while making you smile. I always find my happy place wrapped inside her often kooky, but always endearing characters. Halley and Preston prove to be no exception. Kiss Me Not is a meaningful journey of self exploration. Halley is a woman on a mission. Preston is the guy who wants to take her down. The irony is that there are deeper feelings at play. Insecurities, secret crushes and so much more are hidden inside of an unconventional, yet always entertaining bundle of heart.
Soooooooo cute!! I love Emma Hart and this book is adorable. I love the banter between Preston and Halley and Halley and her friends and Halley and pretty much anyone in town. I am in love with the small town of Creek Falls and everyone who lives in it. Kiss Me Not is insanely cute fun and I’m looking forward to this entire series!
Every year for the past four years, Halley Dawson has been the kissing booth champion at the annual Creek Falls fair. Not that her competition has been a great hunk to compete against, but still she has been the winner. This year her rival is none other than her long time crush, Preston Wright, also known as her best friend’s brother.
She’s not about to let him stand in her way of winning this year, or let the fact that her long time crush (whom she’s never admitted to anyone) is kissing lots of women, right next to her. Ugh…this year may be harder than ever before.
Preston has always liked Halley. She’s beautiful, smart, caring, basically she’s perfect. So what if the whole town calls her the crazy raccoon lady, everyone has their quirks, her’s was just feeding wild animals.
Preston only signed up so he could get close to her. So what if he had to kiss a lot of other women to do it, maybe she’d finally take notice, maybe he’d finally get his chance, or maybe she’d dodge him every chance he had and kiss him not.
This book is filled with fun, carnival food (so yummy), and lots of quick witted banter.
This book’s snark and sass was right up my alley! Halley is a fun character to read and her besties are hilarious too. Preston is a swoony hero.
Get ready to laugh your butt off in this fun story. Having to listen to your secret crush kissing people other than you is the perfect torture to spark revelations for a possible HEA.
I may never look at ‘s the same again.
41/2 stars
Sassy, funny and a touch of mischief makes up this hilarious romantic comedy.
Halley Dawson, Kissing Booth Champion of Creek Falls, has had a crush on her best friend’s brother for ages and now the annual charity fair has lots of surprises in stall for Miss Dawson.
Once again the fantastic humour in the story makes you chuckle as well as literally laugh out loud and strong, the humour often sarcastic but so apt. This author has a fabulous way with words, nothing necessarily fancy but spot on to accurately depict a situation. I gave an extra half a star for these reasons.
Halley and her two best friends, Ava and Reagan, are a great trio; so honest about themselves and with each other it’s refreshing. Preston. Reagan’s older brother, is another refreshingly honest character and very easy to like too. It was fun having Lauren and Mason, from the Accidental Girlfriend, pop into the story as well. However, special mention should go to Boris, Betty and the rest of the wild raccoons.
I am already looking forward to reading the next book, Kiss Me Tonight!
