A heartwarming novella in the Sweetwater Springs series from USA Today bestselling author Annie Rains, perfect for fans of RaeAnne Thayne and Debbie Mason. If Lacy Shaw could have one wish, it’s that the past would stay in the past. And with her high school reunion coming up, she has no intention of reliving the worst four years of her life. Especially when all she has to show for the last … when all she has to show for the last decade is how the shy bookworm blossomed into…the shy town librarian. Ditching the event seems the best option until a blistering hot alternative roars into Lacy’s life. Perhaps riding into the reunion on the back of Paris Montgomery’s motorcycle will show her classmates how much she really has changed…
While growing up as a foster kid, Paris Montgomery only felt at home in Sweetwater Springs, which is why he picked the small town to start over after his divorce. He can’t afford to ruin this refuge with another doomed relationship – especially one with a woman who is his total opposite. But when the town’s sweet librarian offers to help him reconnect with his foster dad, he finds they have more in common than he thought. Both are about to discover that home is where the heart is.

I was so MAD to see this book end. I absolutely LOVED it. I loved are quick the author grabs your attention and keeps your attention from beginning to the end. I really found Lacy’s story so sweet and how big of a heart she had for not just her family but those who came into her library they all seemed important to her. Paris has a “wall” up but not so high that just the right person couldn’t reach his heart. This book was seriously one of the sweetest read and probably one of my favorite reads in a while. You really can’t go wrong with this fun read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
Favorite Quotes:
Greta Merchant used a cane, but he knew she walked just fine. The cane was for show, and Paris had seen her beat it against someone’s foot a couple of times.
The nickname had just rolled off his tongue, but it fit. Lace was delicate and beautiful, accentuated by holes that one might think made it more fragile. It was strong, just like the woman sitting next to him.
My Review:
Annie Rains has penned an enjoyable, pleasantly satisfying, and sweet story featuring two lonely yet kind and endearing characters living in a small town; one a reserved librarian who lived on Pine Cone Lane, and the other a computer whiz/graphic artist/tattooed biker who was handsome enough to have all the ladies salivating whether they were young or old, married or single. The storylines were sweet and heartfelt with both main characters having experienced painful histories of disappointments and insecurities in their childhoods that continued to haunt them yet each was endeavoring to overcome. The premise was relevant and tender, the writing was easy to follow and engaging, and the small-town characters were amusingly delineated.
Lacy works in library and she got Paris agree to teach computer to seniors.
They both likes each other, but he is done with relationships after divorce.
Lacy has 10 year reunion coming up, she doesn’t want to go, since she was bullied in school and doesn’t want see those people.
Paris is trying to stay away from Lacy, he thinks, he is not worth of her.
Great storyline, loved characters.
I just love Sweetwater Springs & this was such a nice, short visit there. Lacey is the town librarian who loves helping people find the perfect books. Paris hadn’t planned to stay in Sweetwater Springs but after Lacey had contacted him asking if he’d help teach a class at the library he stayed for a bit. Lacey was very shy after being bullied & teased during high school & hadn’t planned on going to her high school reunion. Paris didn’t have an easy life, going between foster homes. Even though at times he felt like he didn’t fit in he was willing to go with Lacey to her reunion where she planned on showing those who teased her that they didn’t break her. Both had to grow and deal with their pasts. Even though this is a novella the story didn’t feel rushed, it was the perfect paced & charming story.
In this romantic novella, the magic continues to weave its wand over the residents of Sweetwater Springs! Lacy Shaw, the shy librarian has never been one to make her presence known but when the handsome Paris shows up to teach a computer class, she finds herself attracted to him. Paris notices Lacy but not in a romantic way until some of the elder members of his class gives him a glimpse at a different version of Lacy. When Paris and Lacy are thrown together during a crisis at the library, the fires of love begin to ignite. Will Lacy and Paris let past hurts stop them from a love they both richly deserve? Will someone from Paris’s past show him that a love of a lifetime is worth fighting for? Author Annie Rains has brought the majestic setting of Sweetwater Springs to life and continues to enthrall me with the beauty of her words. I will continue to follow the wonderful series of Sweetwater Springs!
I love visiting Sweetwater Springs. Ms. Rains has a definite talent for creating characters that wrap themselves around your heart. I loved Paris and Lacy’s story!
Lacy is a shy librarian who had a difficult time with “mean girls” during her high school years. She has always been on the sidelines watching the world go by. With her high school reunion coming up, she wants to prove to her former classmates that she is no longer the girl that they treated so badly.
Paris is a survivor of the foster care system. He spent his childhood moving from one foster home to another, never really having a home or family to call his own.
I really enjoyed this book. Ms. Rains had written another winner.
I received an ARC of Kiss Me in Sweetwater Springs from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I definitely recommend this book. It can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading all the books in this series. You won’t be disappointed.
I truly enjoyed reading it!
It’s a feel-good & moving romance.
Lacey, is the town’s librarian.
With her reunion coming up, remembering
her high school days, has left her
feeling uneasy, & very single.
Paris, a graphic designer, moved to Sweetwater Springs, a year ago.
He’s ready for a new beginning, alone.
That is until Lacey & Paris meet.
Another great book in the series!
I loved everything about this Must
Read Story!!
This was a lovely story of a librarian who was bullied in high school and lacks self-confidence as a result. It is also the story of a young man who grew up “rough”, moving from foster home to foster home and living with parents who did not act responsibly. Lacy loves her job as a librarian and Paris thoroughly enjoys his as a graphic designer. Neither is looking for any kind of relationship, but the way their relationship develops is the crux of the story. There are some interesting characters in this novella that were in previous Sweetwater Springs novels, but this wonderful little story can also stand on its own. My favorite recurring character is Dawanda, the lady from the bakery who serves cappuccino and “reads” your future after you enjoy your drink. A new character was introduced, Mr. Jepson. With a hurting heart and loss of hope, Mr. Jepson is grumpy and rude towards everyone. I really enjoyed reading the development of his character and how he ended up opening his heart. This is a story that you can read and enjoy in one day. If you haven’t read Annie Rains’s books before, this is a great one to start with because it gives you the flavor of how she writes…with love flowing from every page! Readers of romance will definitely want to read this little treasure!
