Molly Clare is living her dream. Being a guest in a gorgeous villa while she explores Rome is everything she could’ve hoped for and more. Lord Hugh Farley is living a nightmare. Ruined by rumors of … rumors of indiscretions he didn’t commit and betrayed by his own family, his only option was to leave London. But any hope he had for a quiet Roman exile is destroyed when she arrives. Molly is everything he’s ever wanted…and nothing he can have. But keeping his mind—and hands—off her quickly proves impossible.
Can Molly and Hugh find a way to clear his name and build a future together? Or is their happily ever after nothing but a fantasy?

I thoroughly enjoyed Hugh and Molly’s love story, as they meet and fall in love in Rome. Molly is there to tour the ancient city staying at a villa owned by Hugh that their mutual friend had arranged for her. He was not suppose to be there, but when they meet there is instant attraction and sparks fly between them. A whirlwind courtship finds them married and blissfully happy until she finds out his true identity as an enemy of her family, and an outcast from London society. All a case of mistaken identity forced upon him by his scoundrel brother. He pleads with her his innocence and begs her to trust him, but she chooses to believe the lies of others. Doesn’t say much for the love she supposedly has for him and nearly destroys their marriage. The sightseeing tour of Rome was really lovely, and their romance there delightful. Hugh turned out to be a wonderful guy and much more forgiving than she w
Molly Clare has come to Rome to have a grand adventure. She is having a wonderful experience. Hugh Farley, who just found out he is the new Duke of St. Albans, has lived in Rome for years as Hugh Armstrong due to a family scandal. When Molly meets Hugh, who owns the beautiful villa where she is staying, her adventure got even better. Her dreams are coming true – travel, love, and marriage.
Hugh loves Molly, but he hasn’t worked up the courage and found the right moment to tell her his dark secrets. Unfortunately, someone doesn’t have the same problem. What happens when Molly learns who he really is and what caused his exile? Will it tear them apart? Can the rift it causes be repaired?
Molly and Hugh are easy to understand and easy to love. He should have opened up a lot sooner. She should have trusted her instincts about the man she had come to know and love. This story is an emotional rollercoaster. Secrets, betrayal, twists and turns, and surprises – good and bad create quite a dilemma for Molly and Hugh. All of this makes finding happily ever after harder, but all the sweeter. I really enjoyed and highly recommend this one.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
It is such a small world…. Molly and Hugh cross paths away from London, neither really knowing much about each other. Who would ever suspect the extent of their connection! I really enjoyed the romance and the unrest of the unique situation that Molly and Hugh face. It was so satisfying to see that love, trust and truth win out in the end. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Molly learns the truth about Hugh
Another excellent book in Ms. Gill’s “League of Unweddable Gentlemen” series. A masterful story with unforgettable characters and a fantastic plot.
Hugh Armstrong (Lord Hugh Farley) left London when forced to by his mother and brother to accept the blame after a scandal of running a girl and abandoning her pregnant to her fate that was really his brother’s (future Duke of St. Albans) rakish behavior. He was living in Rome using the Armstrong name,
Molly Clare, a 28 year old spinster, traveled to Rome for a month long Holiday and through a friend staying at Armstrong’s villa, who then returned unexpectedly. As Molly and Hugh spend time together their love for each other develops and they are married. Molly then discovers that Hugh is the man who ruined her cousin and then fled to Europe. Molly immediately returns to London to try to sort this horrible situation out.
The story is about Molly’s love for Hugh and her quest for determining the truth about who the real rogue was along with her true love for Hugh. This is a wonderful tale with mystery, betrayal, friendship, family and true love. As with all Ms. Gill’s other books, the reader cannot put is down. Don’t miss this one.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A heart rending tale that starts out in Rome where Molly and Hugh fall in love. They travell the sites of Rome and spend some time in Naples, how romantic. But when Molly finds out that Hugh ruined her cousin years ago she leaves even though he claims his innocence. Molly sets out to prove to herself he is telling the truth. She will not return to their marriage until she is sure, oh the heartbreak. But never fear, a happy ending is to be found.
Happenstance, chance, or is it just fate that brings together Hugh and Molly. A beautiful setting in Rome is the romantic backdrop where Molly finds her dream. Hugh’s treatment by his family is horrible but it makes in to a man with strength. Molly is devastated when she learns what she thinks is the truth. This is a very intense book from beginning to end. Beautifully written as always and it will keep you enthralled from the start.
Kiss Me Duke (League of Unweddable Gentlemen, #5)

Miss Molly Clare a basically sheltered and sweet person is on an adventure in Italy. She wants to live a little, maybe step outside her comfort zone, before returning home to her supposed pending spinsterhood at the ripe old age of 28. Lord Hugh Farley was shunned by his family and the Ton after being made to take the fall for something he did not do. He has since rebuilt his life in Rome.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first third of this book describing several beautiful sites in Italy as well as the couples budding interest and growing love for each other. Then the story went south for this reader. After they are married, Molly finds out something from Hugh’s past via gossip and she confronts him. She doesn’t give him the benefit of the doubt and goes running back to England. As a result of that move and the rest of the character’s handling of the matter, I just totally lost interest in her. Granted Hugh could have shared his past with her sooner, but his reservations are understandable considering how he has already been treated. Extenuating circumstances aside, the fact that Molly basically waited until she had tangible “proof” of his innocence did not sit well with me. I feel that Hugh forgave her too easily and he deserved much better treatment from his wife.
Then I felt there was repetitive overuse of strong language in the love scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for that kind of thing, when it works in the story. Here it just didn’t seem to fit. It felt forced at times and the scenes just didn’t flow for me. I kept getting the impression that the author couldn’t decide if she wanted things to be more erotic or more romantic. It is however apparent she has the ability to write it either way.
Readers who like the kind of romance where the heroine tends to dwell on and drag out drama from the past should enjoy this one. Those looking for a cleaner romance might want to pass.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
I loved reading about Italy, the history and places to visit. Reading this book made me want to plan a trip there someday. Molly had never been kissed nor courted by a man and she lives with the specter of his cousin’s scandal over her head. She hates the man behind it. Hugh was forced to flee England, but has made a new successful life in Rome and Naples. They fall for each other fast when they meet, but when Molly learns who he is she chooses to believe others rather than her new husband and his friends’ about what happened in the past. Yes, he lied to her, but she won’t accept anything but written proof of the truth and that frustrated me. She was just as bad as those in the ton who turned their back on him. I like his sister Sarah and even though she’s refused to enter the marriage mart, I hope she finds love in a future book. This was a steamy historical romance.
Enjoyed the story with Molly and Hugh. He is sent to Rome after a scandal he was blamed for even though he was not responsible for and Molly who visits Rome where she meets Hugh and they fall in love. Enjoyed the story plot and even more the characters and their devotion to each other.
1829
Molly Clare, age 28, has arrived in Rome to stay for a month at the Villa Maius. She is so excited to be able to enjoy the sunshine, warmth, and the sights of this beautiful, ancient city. Her companion does not share her enthusiasm of Rome finding it too hot for her likings.
Molly understood from a friend in England that the owner of the villa would be away for the time she was there. However, a gentleman introduces himself as Hugh Armstrong, age 32, and friend to the Duke of Whitmore who suggested the villa to Molly. He is the owner of the villa.
Hugh is very kind and takes her around to various places in Rome showing her all of the sights. She is thrilled with it all. Very quickly, an attraction and romance sparks between them. They are so in love that they marry right away.
Hugh is actually the younger brother of Henry, the Duke of St. Albans. Hugh had been sent to Rome as he was ordered to take the fall for his brother having wooed and impregnated a young woman saying he would marry her. Then, Henry and his mother decided she was not of aristocratic stock and thus he abandoned her. Hugh was blamed for Henry’s sin and thus Hugh was sent to Rome. As it turns out, the young woman was Molly’s cousin. She and her baby died in childbirth leaving the family heartbroken and hating Hugh with a passion.
Hugh has just received news that his reckless brother has died in a carriage accident and Hugh is now the new Duke. He needs to return to England, but is afraid to tell Molly who he really is. They are so in love and he is afraid that the truth will destroy their marriage and love?
This is a story of true love, but it also tests the love of two people. Whom do you believe? Do you go with your heart and trust your husband or believe what your family does? Quite a conundrum. I think Tamara Gill is a very talented author and I look forward to reading more of her books. Well done.

Romance in a foreign setting, the author portrays the sights and sounds of Rome bringing back happy memories of my own visit to the city. However, I found the romance between Molly and Hugh difficult to relate to. One wonders why the Duke of Whitstone sent Molly to Villa Maius if he was aware of both Hugh and Molly’s background and the potential for disaster. I was glad however, that the couple found a resolution to their problems and that the novel ended on a happy note. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Delightful!! I loved Molly and Hugh. Trust me when I say that this couple inspires lots of feels as their story unfolds. I liked these characters and truly felt they were meant to be. Of course the path to true love is never easy and that holds true in this couple’s case. I did feel bad for Molly but my heart truly ached for Hugh. He was really between a rock and a hard place and with no easy, painless answers in sight. I am electing to post a forthright review.
Molly is a spinster who goes to Rome, She stays at Lord Hugh’s villa and meets him. Hugh left England to escape a family scandal. They fall in love and marry but have to overcome problems.
4.5
I found that I quite enjoyed Hugh.
He’s living in exile in Rome (a very comfortable exile with a house in Rome and a villa in Naples, I might add).
He meets Molly, the sister of his duke friend and they marry in haste because he’s just inherited the dukedom from his brother Henry.
But there’s a cloud of ruin hanging over Hugh.
I thought how he handled it all was admirable. But he perhaps should have been honest with Molly from the start or much sooner, but then we wouldn’t have a book.
Recommend.
The Series Just Keeps Getting Better!
When I was gifted an advance copy of this story, I decided to read the entire series to give a truly unbiased opinion. Am I ever glad that I did! From the first book I read by Tamara, I was a dedicated fan. She never ceases to disappoint, and this was no exception.
I read through all 5 books in this series in less than a week – I could not put them down once I started reading. Kiss Me Duke is my favorite of them all! The characters are realistic and well-developed, and I loved how their story unfolded. The beautiful (and accurate) descriptions of Italy and England brought me right into their world. I found myself cheering for this couple as they found true love, something they both had seemingly given up on, and then yelling at them for letting the opinions of others drive a wedge between them. How true to life! Although the themes involved here take place during the regency period, they easily translate to modern times, as well.
This is a beautiful story with just the right amount of happily ever after. I strongly recommend this book. I hope Tamara finds a way for the series to live on…I’ll be among the first in line.
**I am voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy; this is my honest opinion.
I very much liked Kiss Me Duke and the main characters and the story of them. Lord Hugh Farley was a really nice guy who took the fall for something he didn’t commit and upon family urging, exiled himself to Rome. Spinster’s age, Miss Molly Clare, through the help of friends, is able to stay at a villa in Rome for a once in a lifetime experience. Hugh returns to Rome early and meets the villa’s houseguest, Molly. What follows are several halcyon days for Hugh and Molly, as they get to know one another when he escorts her around Rome. By the time Molly is due to depart for home, Hugh knows he can’t let her go as he has fallen deeply in love with her. She has fallen for him too and they marry. There were secrets Hugh should have revealed before he married Molly. They come to light when she finds out when attending an event without him. Molly is heartbroken and feels totally betrayed. Hugh is heartbroken too and tries to explain what really happened but Molly will not listen to him. I became so emotionally involved in this book as I loved this couple. They were really meant to be together. It will take forgiveness and healing on and from both of them to get past what tore them apart. All in all, a very satisfying read and a most swoon-worthy hero. I was fortunate to receive an ARC from the author which has in no way affected my voluntary review. All opinions stated are my own. Book rating: 4 ½ stars; Heat rating: 4 stars.
4.5 STARS
At the 1/3 mark something is revealed that totally shocked me. Must admit that rarely happens so kudos to the author for a shocking surprise!
Be warned the “F” word is used many times.
There is passionate descriptive lovemaking within marriage – heat level 5 out of 5 and described many times.
Part of me understood the reason the H rolled over and did what his family requested – he was only 20 at the time and didn’t understand the ramifications. But, another part of me wanted him to fight and be honorable. This all happens before we are introduced to the H.
All the villains are dead, so that was something hard for the H to try and resolve when it was his word against those that are gone.
I did like their honest conversations and understood why the h had a hard time believing him.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, some romance and plenty of steam. I was gifted a copy of this story. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given. (ljb)
I did enjoy this book, I particularly liked the character of Hugh. He had lived in Italy for many years due to no fault of his own but which he had been blamed. I did like Molly at first, she seemed to have an adventurous spirit. The attraction between them is immediate. Unfortunately, Hugh has a secret that he is afraid to tell Molly, in case she views him in a different light. I was annoyed at Molly because she choose to believe other people rather than Hugh. Even though she knew mutual friends supported Hugh. Molly was very lucky that Hugh was so understanding. However, it was a good read, I loved the mention of the different places in Rome, it brought back happy memories. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Brilliant!!! Kiss Me, Duke by Tamara Gills is book 5 int the League of Unweddable Gentlemen series. I have to say that Tamara’s writing and stories never disappoint and this is no exception. This is one of the most romantic regency stories that I have read to date as it included scenes in Rome’s historical places, hot baths and a scandalous kiss in public. Bravo Tamara Bravo. Though in a series you can read this as a standalone but I highly recommend the whole series as you get to know all the characters and their personalities . This story has secrets, romance, taking the blame for someone else, a horrible mother, forgiving aunt and uncle, finding the truth and marring someone you haven’t known for very long. I so highly recommend this book… you will not regret it.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Molly falls in love while visiting Rome and marries Hugh Armstrong without knowing his true name. He hopes that by the time he gets around to telling her, she will trust him enough to believe his version of events rather than the Ton’s. However he has no inkling of her personal connection to the scandal 20 years earlier. When she is told the truth (and not by her husband) all hell breaks out!
The best part of this book for me was the descriptions of Rome, reminding me of my visits to that city. I did however feel that the clearing of Hugh’s name in Society’s eyes at the end of the book was rather glossed over.
