Welcome to Willoughby Close… a charming cluster of cozy cottages, each with a story to tell and a happy ending to deliver… offered her a much-needed security that has now been ripped away. She’s not sure what to do now that she’s thirty-five, widowed, penniless… and unexpectedly pregnant with her late husband’s child.
Jace Tucker is the over-the-top sexy caretaker of Willoughby Manor, and he can see beneath Ava’s glamor girl act to the hurt she’s been hiding for so long. She has secrets for a reason—and so does he. The last thing she needs right now is a fling with a man who hides a past as regrettable as her own.
But with a baby to think about, and neighbors determined to be her friends, Ava finds herself starting to change and even more alarmingly, beginning to hope. Can Willoughby Close work its everyday magic on a woman like her? And when the past comes calling for both her and Jace, will they have to answer for their previous mistakes?

I did enjoy this book, however some of the scenarios were left unresolved. Which means you must read the next book, and I’m guessing, the one after that, and …
Not very interesting and not very well written. Did not grab my attention.
I quit on this book about two chapters in. It was to “British” for me, I also just couldn’t get in tune with the main character. Saved leisure reading time and bailed.
Loved it!
Loved this book so much I am now reading the next book in the series. The characters are great and come to life as the stoy unfolds!
I liked the story line but was a bit boring! Lots of words pertaining to England that are not familiar to me
This book was well written and held my attention from beginning to end. I liked the romantic story that peaked my curiosity throughout the book.
Fun and well written. Good characterization. Likeable folks despite their problems. Set within the timeframe of the overall series, with overlapping characters, but satisfying as a standalone.
The characters were human and loving–caring about each other.
I love all the books in this series and the author.
This was a cute read. We all go through something at one time or another and this book just confirms we’re not alone. It was a little slow, for me, getting started but it is a nice read and there are many in the series that follow.
Just okay – predictable. some good characters but not developed enough. Not memorable.
The leading characters are very likable and I found myself rooting for them.
Loved this book! I read the entire series in about a week or two and have now started one of the author’s other series. I enjoyed her writing style and the wonderful stories she weaves.
Sweet, quick read
Love this author . Feel good but makes you think
About tough life issues
Try it but I did not like it , though I don’t usually like that type book.
It was a great read!
Interesting perspective of the young trophy wife. Who knew you could be sympathetic with a person who got by on their looks. Tied up very neatly at the end even if it was highly unrealistic. It was entertaining.
Great story about second chances.
