Imagine:
Your chest overloads with butterflies while his strong hands press your arms over your head.
Breathing hard, you stare into the eyes of the brutally handsome Campus King as you recoil, floored from the most passionate kiss of your life.
His words to you? “Let’s just be friends.”
Um, excuse you?? Have you felt a pull so strong to be with someone that it actually…terrified you?
For me, … with someone that it actually…terrified you?
For me, that person is Grant Taylor: Campus King. He’s tall, handsome, and thoughtful. A pre-ordained baseball god headed for the majors and a big paycheck.
Our plan to be ‘just friends’ is going perfectly fine until one fateful summer night, when the King kisses me on a balcony like I’m his Juliet.
I never thought I could melt just from a man’s lips on mine.
I never knew a mysterious man like Grant would be the one I fall for.
The more we try to stay just friends, the more he haunts my dreams.
The more he haunts my dreams, the more I want to give into temptation.
One night…I finally do.
And it’s everything.
But a romance as hot as ours never comes without complications.
When I arrived to college, I thought I knew who I wanted to be.
I thought I knew what love was.
Turns out, I knew nothing before I met Grant Taylor.
I never knew you could fall in love with your best friend.
Life will never be the same again.
Because I should have known better than to kiss the King.Kiss King is a full length standalone. It is book 2 in the Forever You series of interconnected standalones

Mickey Miller has done it once again with this book. Kiss King is book two is the forever you series.. and it was one book that couldn’t put down once I started.. Grant and Maya’s story is a friends to lovers story.. These two have had feelings for each other for a while but they were afraid to act on it because of their friendship.. But what happens to them once they do? Will their friendship survive? To find out make sure you go read this amazing book and find out. You won’t be disappointed when you do that I can promise you
3/5. I liked this book. I really liked reading from Grant’s perspective; I always like reading from the hero. I really appreciated how he wanted the best for Maya and was a good person overall in the book. I liked Maya and was interested to see how her story line was going to manifest. I think her issues were very relatable for college students. I do think I would have benefited reading the first book because I didn’t feel the connection between them as friends. I also wasn’t the biggest fan of a certain issue at the end; it just seemed to come out of left field. Overall, I liked my first Mickey Miller book and really enjoyed the male’s perspective. It felt really authentic. I do hope April gets the next book because I would like to see that play out with her hinted love interests.
Wow, KISS KING the second book of Forever You Series is a very good sports romance story that was brilliantly written, heartwarming, witty banter, and inner dialogue—it is definitely a breath of fresh air. What a story this is. What a delicious, romantic ride. What a total swoonfest. I am so enamored. So smitten. So absolutely enchanted. An engaging story that will keep you captivated throughout this addictive page-turner. I was hooked from the very first page—laughing, swooning, and fanning. Grant Taylor, the campus king is very handsome, tall, charming, thoughtful, and jock/Mr. Shaman with hopes of playing professional baseball. Maya Waters is a good girl—a responsible, hard-working, tell-it-like-it is person who is comfortable with herself. Maya and Grant were friends who would hang out during their first trimester at college. Grant was someone that Maya felt comfortable talking to and she would trust his judgement. They will fascinate you and frustrate you at the same time. Lines will be crossed. Will their friendship be jeopardized if they cross the line? I can’t see anyone not absolutely LOVING their story. It is so sweet, so easy—a delicious slow burn, friend to lovers, flirting, heartfelt feels, best sexual tension ever, and a dose of unrequited pining where we get to be HER, and go through all of her emotions with her as she struggles with her friend/love relationship with Grant. The storyline is fluid, and the characters are extremely well developed. Mickey Miller has constructed a delectably sports romance that will lure you into the wee hours and beyond that, you will not be able to put this book down. You won’t regret reading Kiss King!
When Maya’s parents news of a divorce through her into a upheaval in more ways then one she knows her one constant is her best friend Grant only problem is just being friends really isn’t working great for them anywhere.
After reading Hate Mates i wanted more. I read this book in a few hours couldnt put it down. You first meet Maya and Grant in Hate Mates. Let me just say Grant is very hard not to love he really is, i even wanted to hate him when he went on that date with Alex in Hate Mates but i just couldn’t hate he was just to dam lovable and sweet and hot and ahhhhh lol
Mickey takes you into the mind of both Maya and Grant, i loved hearing both their POV. When they made a friend packed i think they both did it because thats what they thought the other would want. Here’s a tip NO ONE WANTS TO BE IN A FRIEND ZONE WITH A HOT GUY!!! Everything changed when they did the friendship test of the kiss, when both basically lied out of their asses to each other becuase both are cowards, i was screaming “THIS IS YOUR CHANCE SAY SOMETHING SAY YES I FELT SOMETHING” but no she had to say ” i dont know what i feel” i swear i wanted to belt her in the head lol but then she goes overseas and comes back with a loser of a bf wtf MAYA WHY… This book had the steam omg the steam, the club scene before they get kicked out omg i was like stupid bouncer why did you come and ruin the moment.
It is not easy sailing for these two , they go through alot its not as simple as yep lets be more than friends nope takes a while so much sexual frustration and chemitry until it finally happens , that when it does happen its 10times as hotter. What i did hate and loved all at the same time was that when finally it did happen they kept it all on the down low with no labels nothing, but at the same time that was what made it so damm hot, all the sneaking around all the nearly getting caught loved it.
Now i really want Finn’s story and April or maybe Finn and Aprils story lol just saying lol
Mickey miller is fast becoming a fav author of mine cannot wait to see what he comes up in the creative mind of his next.. BRING IT ON..
This can be read as a standalone but i suggest you read HATE MATE first to see where it all began trust me you will love it.
Laughed so hard at this bit lmao
“Oh, Maya,” he breathes. “I love you.” I dart him a look. “Excuse me? Did you just tell me you love me?”“You know, like in a platonic way. Just like I love… lamps.” He points to the lights of the stadium that are beginning to illuminate the field as the sun lowers. He clears his throat and there’s a new resolve to his voice.
Cannot wait to get these on paperback..
Five hot stars
Mickey thank you for what you do your books always leaving you wanting more.
This book was so good. I pulls you in and keeps you wanting more. Maya and Grant’s story is hot and full of chemistry and steam. This friends to lovers book will not disappoint at all. The back in forth of do we cross that line or no.
Grant is every woman’s dream his grey eyes and college jock with substance to him makes you want him even more. He is a thinker and likes to make Maya dig into some issues she is working through. The fact that he is there to help her makes him that much more.
Maya is a strong woman who is learning more about herself while dealing with her parents divorce while she is in college. Maya has so much to her. Her love for painting and learning that she is doing what her dad wants her to do.
They soon find out that they are more then best friends and they take that leap and cross that line. When they both realize that they want the same thing this is where the steam comes and it comes ten fold. The sex scenes are off the chart and they keep you wanting more. I can not wait for more from Mickey he never disappoints.
Mickey thank you thank you thank you for your books!!
Grant and Maya are best friends from the very start of college and talk to each other about any and everything, including the S word. They’ve both vowed that they would never pursue anything more than friendship with the other but things get complicated after Grant says they need to “test” their friendship and more. Be prepared for complete hotness and lots of sexy time as they navigate uncharted territory.
I love this book.. Once I started I was not able to put it down.. This has to be one of my favorite I read by Mickey. 8nthink uneven teared up when I was almost finished with it. Happy tears, lol. Must read
This book was soo good, once I got into the story I really liked reading Maya and Grants story. They had some of the best steamy scenes I’ve read and I loved showing more role-play in books. I fell that role-playing is not shown enough in romance novels not focused on it and I loved seeing Grant and Maya figure out what works for them. Also while this book was good, I want to read the next book in the series immediately, no matter who it is about because Mickey Miller built all of their backgrounds in a way that I am so excited for which ever book comes next.
This book got 4 stars instead of five from me because I only give 5 stars to books I don’t want to put down and I just couldn’t get into this one. I’m just not a huge fan of the friends to lovers beginning. Its just not as fun as other beginnings when their friendship is already established. for whatever character comes next! While this book wasn’t completely for me, it is still a wonderfully written book that I would recommend anyone to read!!
Grant and Maya are friends and has their journey in college progress so does their friendship, but they are afraid to lose what they have for an uncertain future. But they are each other’s support and their spark will ignite the pages. I think this is the best Mickey Miller book so far. I honestly volunteered to review this story.
It’s been a long time since I was a college freshman, but I really enjoyed this book. Some things about the college experience don’t really change, and some things – well – way different! What I will say is that the characters in this series are all very likable. Grant and Maya have real chemistry but neither is ready to put themselves out there and risk a great, perhaps, once in a lifetime friendship. But, some things are inevitable – and the laws of attraction usually win out. The question is how long it lasts. This book does have some twists and I wasn’t expecting Maya to do what she did, but it took guts and when you think about it, it was the right move. Too many people just go with the status quo – but that hasn’t ever been Maya. Grant is such a deep guy – really love his character. I know there will be more books in this series, and I can’t wait to see who’s next! 🙂 <3
Grant and Maya play a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Their attraction is mutual but both verbally agree to just be friends but their bodies and hearts want more. Grant sees the real Maya and Maya gives Grant a calmness he didn’t realize he needed. But when lines are crossed, there’s no turning back. And when they jointly decide to risk it all, the loss is epic.
Love these college romances and look forward to the next story.
Another great story from Mickey!
I loved Grant and Maya! They were perfect together! It just took them awhile to figure it out. This story kept me glued to my kindle! I couldn’t stop reading! I loved the chemistry and the incredible spark between the two of them. The banter between them was fun, sweet and entertaining! I can’t wait for the next book in the Forever You series!
Mickey Miller lured me right into this friends to lovers romance from the very first page with the great storyline that was well written and characters that were so well created that Maya and Grant kept me totally engaged as each and every page was turned until the very end!
Wow, it just dawned on me that I’ve been with this magical unicorn of contemporary romance (a man who writes romance) since the beginning. It’s been an exceptional, entertaining journey, full of humor heat and heart, and it just keeps getting better and better!
If you’ve seen any of my other reviews, you might know of my predisposed prejudice against NA/YA romance. With this talented master scribe, however, I know my reader’s heart is safe from contrived angst and that I’ll enjoy every step of the journey — laughing as I go, requiring a fire extinguisher for my Kindle, and having my heart manipulated in the very best of ways!
Grant Taylor is a big man on campus, a baseball star and a legend with the ladies, but people who really know him see his big heart and philosophical soul. Maya Waters is confident and comfortable in her own skin, has some legendary skills she doesn’t mind bragging about, and has never met a stranger. She and Grant are best friends, until they decide to explore their mutual attraction, while still remaining friends. (Cue my gleeful laughter and commentary of “Right. We all know how that works out.”)
Their story is lighthearted and fun, then turns to deep and philosophical, then back to humor and straight into I’m-still-fanning-myself heat, while playing my heartstrings along the way. One of the best parts is the emotional component, their soul-deep connection. The one that we readers are privy to while Grant and Maya are still figuring it out. It just doesn’t get any better!
Even if you’re not a NA/YA fan, I implore you, give this one a chance. The storyline moves at an exciting pace, the characters are deep, multi-layered and mature, and Maya and Grant will own your heart before you even realize it. If you haven’t read a M.M. book yet, all I can say is, “What in the world are you waiting for?!” Unicorn writer, people. Unicorn! Truly, this must-read is one you absolutely don’t want to pass up!
My first Mickey Miller Book But Most Definitely not my last. Everything about Grant & Maya Are Fantastic.
Can friends become more, that is the question that you will see throughout their story. They have everything they need to be more but taking that leap can be a slippery slope and knowing they are afraid of losing that spark of friendship can be a tough decision. With every page turn the sparks are incredible and the naughtiness is fantastic but what you see is the deep respect that they have for the other and being with each other is so important that you will cheer them o knowing that taking the chance will be worth everything as long it is with the one that is right in front of you.
I chose to be your friend, but falling in love with you was out of my control…
When you find both love and friendship in the same person, never them go. Maya and Grant’s journey touched me on many levels. Grant and Maya are best friends. Relationships are always stronger when you are best friends first and a couple second. It can be a slippery slope if one of you goes down the rabbit hole and falls in love with the other.
I felt Grant’s inner torment when they both agreed to remain friends. He was scared of losing what they had together. It was too special to have it destroyed by going to the lover zone. I enjoyed the fun, flirty and sexy chemistry Grant and Maya shared.
Mickey Miller has once again blown me away with this touching story of friends to lovers.
Kiss King is an amazing best friends to lovers slow burn romance book because Mickey Miller is magic with his words. It’s well written, has wonderful characters, and is filled with drama, emotional turmoil, angst, sexual tension, witty humor, off-the-charts chemistry, and steamy scenes.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
“With some people, you just get this feeling deep down that they’re going to be important in your life. And that’s what I get with Maya. So, I buckle in.”
All through Hatemates I was watching the attraction between Grant and Maya and couldn’t wait for their story!! They were such unique, quirky, adorable characters that they took a life all their own, and their story was fun, passionate, intense, engrossing, and such a blast to read. The dance they did around each other was absolutely maddening in the best throw-your-kindle-at-the-wall type of way because they were so stinking HOT together I needed instant gratification, but the Author made us work for that HEA, not knowing at any point if they would ever get their heads out of their collective backsides. They were sweet, brought the heat, and the romance made me grin. I can’t wait for more couples!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
“I’ve never had a problem being forward with a man. So why do my words melt like butter on a hot day when it comes to Grant Taylor? What we just shared? Yeah, that was the king of kisses.”

I loved everything about this friends to lovers romance. It’s well written and instantly grabs your attention from the first page. I couldn’t put it down. Grant is caring and philosophical, not to mention attractive and athletic. Maya is fierce and feisty, while awkward at times and I instantly connected with her. Their sexual intensity is off the charts and will set pages on fire. I cannot wait to see which characters are next in this series!!!
