Imagine:
Your chest overloads with butterflies while his strong hands press your arms over your head.
Breathing hard, you stare into the eyes of the brutally handsome Campus King as you recoil, floored from the most passionate kiss of your life.
His words to you? “Let’s just be friends.”
Um, excuse you?? Have you felt a pull so strong to be with someone that it actually…terrified you?
For me, … with someone that it actually…terrified you?
For me, that person is Grant Taylor: Campus King. He’s tall, handsome, and thoughtful. A pre-ordained baseball god headed for the majors and a big paycheck.
Our plan to be ‘just friends’ is going perfectly fine until one fateful summer night, when the King kisses me on a balcony like I’m his Juliet.
I never thought I could melt just from a man’s lips on mine.
I never knew a mysterious man like Grant would be the one I fall for.
The more we try to stay just friends, the more he haunts my dreams.
The more he haunts my dreams, the more I want to give into temptation.
One night…I finally do.
And it’s everything.
But a romance as hot as ours never comes without complications.
When I arrived to college, I thought I knew who I wanted to be.
I thought I knew what love was.
Turns out, I knew nothing before I met Grant Taylor.
I never knew you could fall in love with your best friend.
Life will never be the same again.
Because I should have known better than to kiss the King.Kiss King is a full length standalone. It is book 2 in the Forever You series of interconnected standalones

The next in Mickey Miller’s college romance series. This time the starring couple is Grant and Maya, still insisting that they’re just friends. And indeed they are, but both want more. Both also are afraid to face facts as well as the ridicule they would endure if their friends found out. So they come up with creative ways to keep “them” a secret. Definitely a must-read for a Mickey Miller fan and any fan of college/best friend-to-lovers romance.
This book was not what I expected. From the description and the picture, I figured it out a certain kind of plot. However, it was totally different from what the blurb said. In fact, within the first few chapters I actually stopped reading and went back to reread the blurb to make sure that I wasn’t reading the wrong book. The book is mostly written well, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. There’s drug use and the story goes on for much longer than it should have. I think other people may enjoy this book, but I was frustrated with everyone.
This author is awesome and definitely brings the heat and emotion. Loved Grant and Maya. They had this instantaneous connection and were the best of friends. They were both attracted to each other but afraid to rock the boat and ruin what they had. But I have to say the only annoying thing to me was how maya was so reluctant to commit. I mean she dated that douche Jude but wouldn’t commit to Grant who was the most genuine and lovable guy. They are so connected on so many levels and have so much heat and steam you will definitely be fanning your face. I hope April get a book next and I would love it if she meet Morgan at the Alpha Islam party.
This book deserves the official ‘Grant Stamp’! A friends-to-lovers, college sports romance with all the chemistry and passion.
Both Grant and Maya have so much individual depth that when you bring them together, it is just . They are each struggling with their own college issues but seek each other for support, encouragement, and friendship. Their communication is open and conversations deeply explorative with fun banter that will have you giggling. Miller gives this romance a very slow burn but when it ignites it is crazy hot.
Kiss King is about self-discovery, passion, and following your intuition. We could all use some Shaman Grant in our lives. Or maybe we should all start our own red notebooks!
Maya and Grant are best friends but they both have feelings for each other but don’t want to lose the friendship. Grant is always there for Maya and she is there for him. One night and one kiss changes everything. Can they be more than friends ? Great characters and storyline. Amazing book. I absolutely love the cast of characters in this book.
What a hot sport romance that will have you hooked on this hot steamy read.
After reading Hate Mates (you do not need to read before reading Kiss King, but if you do then you are more familiar with the other characters.) I couldn’t wait for Maya and Grants story. And I loved it. Grant and Maya were friends and basically friend zoned each other not realizing the others feelings. But Grant has liked Maya the whole time. It’s a slow burn at first. Until Grant decides he wants more from Maya. Then it takes off and Maya and Grants sexual chemistry is off the charts. Like all of Mickey Miller’s books I could not put it down. It was so good!! I can’t wait to see who’s next to get a book.
What a great book!!
Grant and Maya, two college kids who become the best of friends, turn into so much more! The more these two try to move on with other people, the stronger the pull between them is.
If you love college romances, friends to lovers, and sports romances, then this book is the perfect one for you!!
Love this book of a realistic collage experience from having trouble to pay for tuition to an unexpected romance! The lead female Maya has some an amazing attitude of I don’t care what other people think and it suits her well! Plus Grant is one sexy man! Great read! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
You meet the love of your life and he friend zones you. That is, until the sparks fly and passions explode! I am a sucker for a sexy sports romance, and Grant and Maya’s story was filled with the steam, the witty dialogue, and the heartfelt depth of feelings I was looking for! This one was out of the park!
Just the type of book I needed in my life right now! Friends to Lovers Laugh out loud moments Steamy scenes with a bit of BDSM
I love reading a series. Getting to check in on other characters from previous books. And, meeting new possibilities. I love when I can feel the characters and boy did Grant and Maya leave their mark.
She brings her eyes to my lips. “ I can’t stop thinking. Before last night, not like we didn’t have great sex or I wasn’t connected to you. But now, I feel so damn into you, Grant”. “Oh yeah? Did I leave my Grant Stamp on you?” She cracks up. “ Yes, you Grant Stamped me. But seriously, I didn’t know I could have that much trust and pleasure with someone. You open my eyes. I didn’t know what I didn’t know.“
I loved Grant and Maya! This book was so good. It is a exceptional college, sport romance! It kept you cheering for them to end as a couple. It had a lot of steam! Can’t wait for the 3rd book in this collection!
If you’ve read Hates Mates, you’ve already been introduced to Grant and Maya. Friends that you were already hoping to see the story unfold for. Well, this is that story and I certainly was not disappointed at all, Kiss King is wickedly good.
The banter back and forth from these two is absolutely amazing. Best friends that are trying not to fall for each other, yet continue to tease each other to the absolute line – refer to Chapter 13 if you want to know what I mean.
This is a book that you will not want to put down, total page-turner, I read it in just a few hours because it was so engaging and I couldn’t stop. You will love to see what happens with these two friends. The heat scale on this book is scorching, and may make you blush but so totally worth it.
Grant and Maya were instantly attracted to eachother but neither one knew how to tell the other. So they came up with we will always be friends pact. They instantly became best friends but they couldn’t stop thinking of their first kiss. Their first kiss will melt you away. Now we know where Mickey gets the title from. Grant is one hell of a kisser.
Poor Maya parents announce they are getting divorced and that she will have to pay her own tuition. First I was like why is she at a school that is so expensive. Grant won’t let her fail he is her rock. At times I was annoyed with Maya. She kept flaking on Grant and other women would have appreciated everything Grant has done for her.
This is my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. It’s not your traditional contemporary romance because the sex is hot. Thankful for being approved to read the arc in an exchange for an honest review.
Kiss King, Mickey Miller’s new college romance brings friends to lovers to a whole new level.
Maya and Grant are best friends. They both have crushes on one another they refuse to admit too. And, freshman year, they make a pact to be best friends and nothing more. While they may be refusing to take things further, their attraction continues to grow. And, by the time the finally decide to take the plunge, it’s off the charts!
But, it’s not all smooth sailing. A secret relationship, tuition and school issues for Maya and baseball team issues for Grant leads to some crazy decisions with consequences neither is prepared to deal with. And, when it all becomes too much for Maya, will Grant let her go or will he show her why he is the Kiss King?
I really enjoyed both Grant and Maya’s characters. Grant is not your typical jock. He’s a psych major and tends to enjoy deep conversations and is a whiz at reading people. I also empathized with Maya’s struggles with trying to pick a major while making her parents happy and trying to stay true to herself. As genuine as Grant is, that is how loyal Maya is. Together, they really worked as best friends as well as a super hot couple. Both have a lot of growing up to do as well, which is what the college experience is all about.
I will say that I wish this book had a quicker pace at times. I love a slow burn, but at times, this felt a bit too slow for me. That being said, I can also appreciate how much time the author took creating characters that had such depth as well as a relationship where their friendship comes first. 4 stars.
I’d like to introduce y’all to another stunner by Mickey Miller.
I love a good sports romance and Kiss King doesn’t disappoint. This friends-to-lovers, college sports romance has it all: fast-paced story line, young, stupid love, slow-burn feelings, likeable and relatable characters.
What more could you want? Oh, wait… you also get fun, humorous and steamy scenes throughout.
Mickey does not do me wrong in bringing Grant and Maya to life in the second book in his Forever You Series. Stop reading reviews and pick this book up today.
Kiss King was a book that is so good it was hard to put down. There are so many quotes that I could give, but I think you need to experience all the feels this book has to offer.
Maya and Grant say they are just going to be friends. They have some explosive kisses that should pull them together. But they both blow it off. They are just friends. Hmmm…. does it stay that way? Or does it develop into more?
Read this friends to lovers sports romance to find out how this all plays out.
Highly recommended!
A great trip back to college. A story that brings back memories of your younger years. I loved the trip with the characters along the way of them finding themselves, new family and friends, along with the love of their lives. I smiled while reading the whole book.
I enjoyed the story, it was a very slow build which i wasn’t a fan of, but I loved the out of the norm love scenes in this story. I don’t think that a lot of authors are willing to step outside that comfort zone and Mickey Miller Nailed it in this book. The banter between the Grant and Maya was so real and down to earth I loved that the most about this story. Very relatable, really hits a chord with me. Daring to cross the friendship/lover line it’s something that a lot of people I think spend a lifetime wondering what if. The story crossing that line is very commendable and I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series!
“I tried to be casual with you. I tried not to love you, because I knew it would make things more complicated with us. I failed at that. I’m a big fat failure at not loving you.”
Awww.. this was such a sweet story. A slow-burn, friends-to-lovers, sports romance, college romance, characters at a cross-roads kind of story.
First, let’s talk about Maya. After missing last semester when her parents divorced, she’s back at school, trying to get back to normal. One thing that is not normal is her reaction to Grant Taylor. They’ve been friends since they first met, so why does he make her knees wobbly and her heart race? He “friend-zoned” her from the beginning, leaving no doubt that he didn’t have the same reaction to her. As they spend more time together, and lines get crossed, she’s finding it more difficult to deny her feelings, and her hopes that Grant sees her as more than just some fun between the sheets. Between her parents, the pressure from her dad about declaring her major, and deciding whether to follow her dreams or following her father’s demands, does she really have the time to follow her heart? Does she really have time not to?
Now, lets’ talk about Grant. He’s not your typical jock. Yes, he’s an amazing pitcher for the school baseball team, and yes, he’s tall and muscled, but there’s a side to Grant that will have all the women swooning, and maybe even some guys. He’s a romantic. He’s not a player. He’s insightful, supportive, and protective. Oh, and he’s had it bad for Maya Waters since he first laid eyes on her. The only problem is, she “friend-zoned” him a long time ago, making it clear to him that she didn’t feel anything else for him. Spending time with her, leads to lines being crossed, secrets being kept, but a whole lot of fun. Does he dare put his heart on the line and tell her how he feels? Does he dare not to?
Ok, these two needed to be slapped upside the head. Young love can be so stupid sometimes with the insecurities of thinking the other doesn’t feel the same way, not wanting to put a label on what is CLEARLY a relationship. Were we all that way in college? Probably. But, these two finally get it together, even after their hair-brained money making scheme goes viral and just about ruins everything.
This is a great series, and Kiss King is the perfect addition to it. If you haven’t read the series, go grab book 1, Hatemates now. Trust me, you’ll be one-clicking Kiss King too!! I can’t wait to see who’s story is next!!
