”I am the man who can find anything or anyone. For a price. And my price is you.”
When Mia Turner’s brother goes missing in Mexico while on an archaeological dig, she believes that life couldn’t get much worse. But when she’s blocked at every turn from finding answers, by both local and U.S. authorities, she must turn to a man she swears is the devil.
Others might be fooled by his private jet, … might be fooled by his private jet, fine tailored suits, and disarming smile, but Mia knows something dark, sinister, and unnatural lurks behind those penetrating, pale-gray eyes. And the more she learns, the more she realizes she may never be free again.

I loved this book!
As I stated in the comments section, I couldn’t get into the “Fever” books some people claim this is so like. I struggled to read the first one. But this, I didn’t want to stop reading it!
King is that dark, sexy, beautiful character we all dream of. He dresses in a tuxedo for God sake!! whereas I found Barrons, to whom King is compared, like an old sack man. He lurked, King does too, but he comes into the light, and he opens up to Mia. almost confiding in her. He definitely has feelings for her, and almost acts on them. I can;t wait until this pair really get it on!
I read and loved Fate Book, and King’s has the same feeling to it. It’s mysterious, fast paced and certainly keeps you on your toes. There is always the question, not only WHO, but WHAT is King? I love Mimi Jeans little bit at the end, “Is he Elvis? He is the king!!!
I’m hoping “King for a Day” doesn’t leave me in the same predicament as this book, with the need to read more. I’m lucky it’s is available now!
Anything written by this author is worth reading.
So I adored this trilogy the first time around and now wanting to read book four and five of this series I thought a reread of the first three was in order to refresh my memory slightly and boy am I glad I did.
I am enjoying myself just as much as I did the first time around with this.
So book one: this is told from Mia’s POV and if I had one slight criticism for this series its that I do wish we had got to experience things from King’s side also, no mind I still had a ball but I do think his perspective would have made this even better reading than it was.
Mia herself is extremely inquisitive and impulsive, she is also not easily controlled which is definitely an issue now she has handed herself over to King.
Loved King as a character for starters his name really suits him, he has such a commanding take charge presence about him.
There is definitely something other-worldly about him he gives off such an ice-cold, mysterious, dangerous and sexy as hell vibe that I was practically salivating for.
Guessing who or what he actually is is half the fun here and I am most certainly having a blast trying to decipher King’s mysterious origins and end-game.
This is just so bloody confusing and half the time I have no inkling whatsoever about what’s actually occurring I am now so hooked and invested in the complete puzzle and am definitely here for the long game.
I have so many questions The sundial tattoo on King’s arm? the mysterious ten club? I could go on and on with my many thoughts.
Then we have Mia who according to King is a Seer of light, one who he now owns, completely by her own hand.
By accepting Kings help in locating her missing brother Mia has basically placed herself in the hands of someone she doesn’t really know or trust and she has agreed to obey totally and play by his rules.
One final thing don’t go into this expecting the romance straight off.
This book plays the long game and is very slow burn indeed, the chemistry between Mia and King was so very well done and it practically projected off the page so this really wasn’t an issue for me.
Book one manages to build the tension and by the time this finished I was so invested in the dynamic here, there was just no way I was abandoning ship, I was in it for the long-haul.
I also adored the way King refers to Mia as Miss Turner just so hot.
So yeh really great and interesting start to this series and one I really recommend giving a shot.

I loved this series. Wish it could go on 🙂
Oh my gosh, this story is thrilling, the twist and turns keep you guessing and letting your imagination churning! Love it
Trilogy with Cliffhangers!
OMG, I was so caught up in this book that I did not want to put it down. This book has action, suspense, sass and loads of chemistry that keeps you glued to the pages, then BAM, you get to the end and you know nothing at all but still have all these unanswered questions. No HEA, and a Damn CLIFFHANGER! That unfortunately just ruined it for me….
I started reading this but after several chapters, just didn’t felt pulled in. The writing is great and world building too, but it simply wasn’t my kind of story.
Makes you want more!
Enjoyed it very much.
He is a jerk
Couldn’t even get into it – characters didn’t grab my attention at the start so I didn’t even make it through the first 3 chapters before I gave up…
Very different approach –
I am not a fan of one book divided into a trilogy…irritating. But this is mildly amusing.
When I first started this book, I wasn’t sure that everyone would get their HEA, but alls well that ends well 🙂
This is a great book and one that separates from the traditional story lines. I enjoyed reading this book and will certainly add this author to my TBR pile.
This book (and the other 2 in the series) were truly an original idea. The characters were well built and real. The story held my interest. I did lose some interest at the end of book 3, as the female lead doesn’t seem to learn from past experiences. There is a book 4, but I don’t plan to read it.
This was scary but informative. How some people can bend rules and facts to get to the end.
Very original! Kept you guessing and reading!
One of the best series I have read in ages! This had me on the edge of my seat and anxious to see what would happen next. Excellent!
Great series
First and second books were good but the third was a little far-fetched for me.
