Finally meet the enigma that is King. Our love wasn’t like everyone else’s. There wasn’t a first date or flowers and gifts. We didn’t have a song or cute nicknames for each other. There were no calls during the day to check in with me, no coming home to cook me dinner, and no foot massages at the end of a long day. That wasn’t how he loved. But love me he did. Madly, deeply, passionately, … loved.
But love me he did.
Madly, deeply, passionately, completely.
King loved with everything he had.
He just loved a little differently to most.
This is King’s story. From the beginning. All the ugly and all the beautiful, by the end of this duet you will come to understand the man behind the club.
King’s story will be told over two books – King’s Wrath & King’s Reign.

Ah King! Such a complex character and one I have eagerly waited to get to know better. Being back with the Sydney Storm boys is a treat, one definitely worth waiting for from this author, who only produces quality work.
Zachary Brown was born into a hard life and lived a hard life until he was taken under the wing of his foster parents Margreet and Dale King, who later adopted him. I’d like to say that things were rosy and peachy for King from then on however that’s not real life and it certainly wasn’t for him. Ivy, another foster child in the system, and he became extremely close. A deep love developed but the relationship was also very volatile.
This story starts when King is nine then jumps years to pertinent times in his life in part one. Part two is based on present day which helps to keep things organised and clear in reader’s minds. I have to admit that I felt very protective towards King, the big bad biker? Yes, definitely! I wanted to wrap him up in cotton wool and ease the tension and stresses of his life.
Enter Lily, a smart mouthed, strong woman who has a heart of gold. Her mother is a little on the eccentric side but fun to read about and her sister is a sister every woman would like to have for real. (Her situation, set up by their mum, is a hoot too!) Lily’s ex, Linc, …now he is a totally different story and I could cheerfully clobber him over the head!
Plenty of action, drama and passion to light up a movie screen…actually the series would make a great transition onto film! A few twists to stir things up and make it interesting adds to this cocktail of goodness. I totally recommend you start at the beginning, if you haven’t, then feast on the whole series knowing this is waiting for you to gobble up
Love this book can’t wait for the 2nd part to come out.
How do you discuss the enigma that is King? Trust me, it’s not an easy task.
King is a man who is almost unrelenting once he has made a decision. He comes off as overbearing, a jerk, and an alpha to a degree that’s unnecessary. Most people that know him would see his intensity and control as something inherently negative, but his goal isn’t to just get his own way — he seeks to control situations around him to offer protection to those he cares about. Does he take this to the annoying extreme? YES. Did I kind of want to knock some sense into him at times? Double YES. But the more the story went on, the more I came to see a softness inside King that he tries really, REALLY hard to conceal.
This story totally knocked me on my … umm, knocked me down. I knew there was a lot coming at the end of Hyde’s story, but I didn’t anticipate events moving as they did. To be honest, I still have some suspicions that haven’t been addressed yet, and I’m extremely anxious to get my hands on the second part of King’s story.
I’m a little hesitant to give you anything regarding King’s “love life,” if you can call it that. I can tell you that at the beginning I was contemplating violence against a few people and have probably never been more annoyed IN MY LIFE at a female character. Like, I totally get where she’s coming from sometimes, but others … I could not fathom why or how she came to the conclusions she did. I will say that my admiration for female characters 100% lies with King’s sisters, and with some of their acquaintances
This book is definitely a biker book, and these boys exemplify all that goes along with that. The story was intriguing, and I’m fairly certain that the next installment will bring loads of surprises (and, oh do I have some guesses and hypotheses for what’s going on!!), betrayal, and hopefully a freaking happy-ish ending for some people I’m starting to love!
A definite recommendation from me. But, if you’re not into having your heart ripped out and then waiting on it to be put back together … King’s Reign will be here at the beginning of June & I have to say, based on the title I have high hopes.
I like,all her books
Loved the book and the series. I need more.
You will be gutted, you will be wrung out, you will feel as though you are on an emotional roller coaster and you WILL LOVE every minute. So many questions have been answered yet so many remain a tension building five star read.
Ivy
As much as I feel for Ivy and her past she is a toxic bitch. She has made my top five list of hated ex’s, this woman thrived on dysfunctional.
King
My God, poor King, we discover where the “crazy” comes from. Beautifully broken, deadly, passionate, loyal, tortured and so much more.
Lilly
Loyal, strong, calming, nurturing and I think just what King needs. She can stand up to him without the psycho confrontational style of Jen & Ivy. She seems to have a calming effect on him instead of spiking his anxiety and doesn’t play games.
Oh I have waiting eagerly for this story, for King’s story and it was so worth the wait. Each book in the series just gets better and better.
King is the President of the Storm MC, Sydney chapter and he is so beautifully dark and delicious. He is very protective with all his family and his MC family. With all the threats coming at the club his over protectiveness is on overdrive and his frustration at things beyond his control is spiralling. He doesn’t hold punches, he wants things done his way and doesn’t usually like people arguing with him.
I don’t want to say too much to give this book away but if you are a huge lover of MC books like me and you like your men strong and determined Alpha Males, your women sexy and feisty, you like drama and violence mixed in with the passion then this is the book for you.
I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next in King’s Reign
Oh my stars, King…. Anyone who is a fan of Nina Levine have been dying to get their hands on King, and let me tell you, Levine did not disappoint with this one. The passion, the raw and grittiness of it all. You really get to see inside King’s head and how he lands and becomes the man he is. I have always been intrigued with King since his first appearance. There was just something about him that draws you to him. He is very much an enigma that leaves you speechless. My heart shattered, my heart sung but my heart also fell in love with the man even more as we read about his past and the present. How he takes care of the ones he loves and tries to protect them the best he can.
As things implode, the past comes back to haunt him but then also collides with the future for him. When you get to a certain chapter, you do yell who the hell is that. No, I won’t give you any idea who or what is happening but let’s just say, King is set on fire and the burn is a hard one that he can’t deny no matter how much he fights it. I felt it completely brilliant. As the members rally to figure out who is after them, you can see how fierce King is trying to keep everyone safe regardless of how much he has to hurt them to keep them whole.
Overall, while I waited with bated breath for this story, I am so glad Levine did what she did and took the time with King. You can really tell how much of a complex character he is as the story flows. I could not put it down once I started and that ending.. OMG I am so excited to see how this will completely play out. King is by far my favorite out of all the Storm men from Brisbane to Sydney. His a tortured soul who you cannot help but fall for and he is just the sin that every girl needs!
ALL THE CARTOON HEART EYES
King is a grouchy, partially insane, bossy arsehole, he’s the ultimate dominate, alpha biker. And I absolutely adore him!
I feel like it’s quite the challenge to write a very slow burn MC book and do it well, but you wouldn’t know from Nina’s writing because King’s Wrath is EXPLOSIVE. It’s intense, suspenseful, gripping, addictive, and surprising emotional and angsty. Add in the chemistry of these two characters, the in-depth exploration of who King really is, and why he is the way he is, and I couldn’t stop reading. I was frozen, white knuckling my kindle from start to finish, unable to engage in conversation with anyone until I’d finished it.
I have an obsession with the Sydney Storm books, I’ve been anticipating King’s duet for so long I feel as if I’ve not taken a breath since I finished Hyde’s Absolution, because that cliffhanger. I’m pretty sure I’ve spent the time in between actually hanging from a cliff. I don’t handle cliffhangers well, okay?! But in all seriousness, King’s Wrath blew my mind, it was without a doubt worth both the wait, and the prematurely grey hairs I’m no doubt developing from that ending. Satan. Seriously.
Ok I knew going in this was a duet but dang if I was still magically hoping that it got condensed into 1. So know going in, this ends with a cliffhanger but King’s Reign will be coming in about a month, so not too long.
I knew from all the other Sydney Storm books that King was going to be an a-hole. And he was, but you understand WHY. Well at least you start to scratch the surface of why he is the way he is. I don’t know if we will every truly understand King.
There is one line in the story that I think sums it up perfectly: King undressed my soul. That says everything you need to know about this story and King himself. Oh I can’t wait for King’s Reign!!
I feel like I just took a shot of adrenaline! My heart is beating out of my chest!
King’s Wrath is RAW GRITTY AND INTENSE!
Zachary “King” is the President of the Sydney Storm MC and King may be troubled and violent but he is devoted when it comes to his club, his family, and his loves.
He is by far not a romantic man and I can’t see him being tamed but he is passionate and loves hard. The sensations this man brings out is HOT!
There is a lot of tension and darkness surrounding the MC and a definite sh*+ storm happening. With all the incidents going on it made me so anxious reading this story that I just wanted to reach in grab KING and soothe him.
King is definitely Nina Levine’s most complex character and the way she bring’s him to life is so honest and real. You can feel the heart she put into King’s story through her detailed written words.
King’s Wrath is not a light read and the way it affected me I know that I’ll have a definite book hangover for weeks. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!
Complete review after I read book 6, which is a continuation of this story. The author warns in the foreword that you should read the previous books in the series in order to fully understand King. This is true. I have read all of the preceding books, but not recently, and I had a little trouble piecing together some of the things that happened. I’ve always been intrigued by King in all of the previous books and this book just added more to my desire to figure him out.
We finally are getting to discover the enigma that is King, president of the Sydney Storm MC.
All through out the Sydney Storm books King is described basically as a madman. He is crazy and makes off the wall decisions that causes him and his VP to constantly butt heads. He has a domineering attitude which puts people off, yet has women coming on to him non-stop. However, he’s never ‘settled’ down with an old lady…or at least not one that can handle the club life.
However, I feel like once we dive into King’s book at least part one of King’s duet I’m left wondering what the big hype was for this dude.
In King’s Wrath we begin with learning all about King’s history. His childhood and how it shaped him to be the man he is today, his relationship with Ivy, and his beginning in Storm.
Ivy and King had a relationship that was a ticking time bomb. They fought non-stop and seemed to only be able to come together when it was sex. Honestly, I was glad that Ivy and King didn’t end up together permanently.
Now when it comes to King and Lily’s relationship…well I wasn’t too impressed with it either. I didn’t feel the emotion and passion that I normally get a feel for when it comes to NL’s characters.
All in all I honestly felt that NL built up King to be such a badass madman, that when it came to writing his story he came across as more tame than I would’ve thought he would’ve been.
King’s Wrath (Sydney Storm MC Book 5)
I have just finished King’s Wrath for the second time! I am appalled that I didn’t write a review the first time I read it. After each book in the series is finished I feel like this badass biker has to be my best book boyfriend ever. Through the Sydney Storm series I wondered how I would find the King that the author, Nina Levine, loved so much. Find him I did. I found him at the end of the first book in the King duet. Lily is everything he is not. Where his world is dark, her’s for the most part is light. Lily quiets the chaos that Storm and King’s past brings to his mind.
Authors write books in a certain order for a reason. Sometimes these books while in a series can be read as standalone but this series must be read in the order written. The story is on going and while the main characters (hot alpha biker and kickass heroine) will change Sydney Storm MC remains the storyline. Thank you Nina Levine for sharing your incredible stories and characters with us. I know these characters talk to you because I find that they are talking to me too.
