First of all, thank you Jane Henry for this cover. Can I just say there is nothing sexier than a bearded silver fox! Now here is my review. Stefan is Taara’s employer and has known. her almost all of her life. When she sees what she should not, Taara needs to prove her loyalty to the Bratva. This book, in typical Jane Henry fashion is fast paced, steamy, little twisted, and a bit of a roller coaster. Great addition to the Ruthless Doms series and I can’t wait for the next!
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
Although “King’s Ransom” can be read as a standalone, this is a wonderful addition to the “Ruthless Doms” series. Stefan is Pukhan, an older man who demands and receives a great deal of loyalty and respect both in America and Russia. Taara is his housekeeper and has loved him for as long as she can remember, knowing nothing can come of it. Why? Their social positions are so different and there is a HUGE age gap between them. Why would he even notice her? Then everything changes. The emotional rollercoaster, the drama, the angst, the chemistry between them all bring forth all the feels that make this book a great read. Alternating between heart pounding, tears, the hair on my arms standing on end, This is why I’m such a fan of Jane Henry. A five star read for sure.
I really really wanted Stefan to have a story…….a hot, silver fox?? You betcha I wanted it!!
AND IT WAS AMAZING!!
There, I made my feelings know, so just gonna say…….if you’ve read any of her Bratva books……grab this!!
Guaranteed to love him and the story!! Plus Taara is pretty awesome too, kinda melts me when they’re together.
It’s not often that I get to read a Bratva story with some dark undertones that still has me smiling throughout. Thanks to Jane Henry’s “King’s Ransom,” I did just that. Once you start to read Taara and Stefan’s story, you will too, because Taara calling Stefan, daddy, will give you a mild case of the “feel goods” that won’t be appeased until you finish the story. While the story does touch on some dark, and very real elements, it’s those two that make the story for me because they’re both so likeable. If you’ve yet to board the train and read this enjoyable series, I recommend starting with story one and working your way through them all; however, if you’re on the fence and simply want a good daddy story, that’s okay too, because each story is a relative standalone. King’s ransom indeed.
Just wow holy moly hottness Stefan the Pakhan and a Daddy Dom and he rules with an iron fist demanding trust and loyalty from anyone to cross his path and that would be the younger Taara his housekeeper who is feisty and totally in love with him until there’s problems and now she must pay the price and what a delicious one it is. I’m so glad we got Stefans story he is fierce but so sweet when he shows it and I loved how he was drawn in and just couldn’t help himself and with the age gap these two are fire and so perfect together so so beautiful I loved it.
King’s Ransom (Ruthless Doms #3) was a good read by Jane Henry. Stefan is older than Taara and demands her obedience. She has been in love with him for as long as she can remember. He is a vicious leader of the Bratva underworld. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
So this is the story of the head of a Russian Bratva who falls in love with his housekeeper. She sees something she shouldn’t, but he can’t bring himself to kill her. So he makes her his prisoner, and he takes her on a “mission”. On this mission, the girl sees things the man (who is much older and experienced) misses and solves problems before he does. Yeah. Right. Ridiculous. That’s why I gave it the 3 stars. That and the fact that the girl’s character and personality flip flop throughout the book. It’s like she’s a different person.
This book has it all. You have the boss/employee, age gap, betrayal, innocence and most of all, love. Great story to add to this series with phenomenal narration.
This story is absolutely beautiful. Stefan and Taara are perfect. Their journey is one heck of an adventure. I love reading about the other characters as well. The writing and flow of this book is top notch. I absolutely recommend this book.
The Big bad Bratvas are back in Jane Henry’s third installment of the Ruthless Doms. Stefan Morozov is the leader or Pakhan of his group of Bratva. He’s like father to them all. Taara has a huge crush on Stefan. Her mother was his old housekeeper, now it’s her job. She knows what he does, but one night she stumbles across Stefan and his son taking care of Bratva business and is caught. Stefan doesn’t know if he can trust her anymore and asks her to prove her obedience by helping him on a dangerous mission. Jane Henry does it again with one heck of a daddy dom book that is enjoyable to read and difficult to put down. The characters and story just grab hold of you and don’t let go, and the sex scenes are steam
King’s Ransom: A Dark Bratva Romance
Ruthless Doms
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Oh, Jane Henry, you have done it again! This spinoff series to the Wicked Doms has me entranced! And Stefan…what a man. This is a little more taboo than the previous stories, as it features Stefan, the leader of the Bratva Underworld and Tara, much younger who witnesses a scene she shouldn’t. Now forced to prove her allegiance to the Bratva, and Stefan’s urgency to protect her, these two heat up the pages of the book. But is she innocent or a spy? This series is so good. Henry exquisitely mixes that thrilling suspense with steamy passion and leaves me breathless every time. This mild Daddy book gave us Stefan in full force. We have seen glimpses of him before, but now the full power of this man is evident. Yet, while he can be ruthless, he has a warm heart when it comes to those he loves. Tara is strong, spunky character. She may be young, but she is mature and her bravery is unmatched. I loved it! And the epilogue…oh, make my heart melt! Another incredible story and I can’t wait to see what Jane has in store for us next.
Stefan and Tara needed voices that exude strength and passion, and there is no better team than Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott for this task. Ross has mastered that Russian accent, and he bleeds that alpha male sound. Kennicott has the ability to be young or old, and she finds that perfect voice for Tara, giving her that courage and that passion. Love this team and their performance is magic.

Jane Henry has melded two of her writing styles into one amazing story. Jane always has sweet Daddy Doms, and Dark Bratva Alphas. But Stefan will blow you away. Being the “king” of the Bratva, we have only caught glimpses of him until now. I loved the cameos of all the other Bratva members we have meet along the way. It was fun to revisit them. This story is all about Taara and Stefan and what a story they have. Be ready to go into the dark with this story, because Jane Henry takes us there as Taara and Stefan find their way. I hung on every word of this story. This story will crush you, but Jane Henry will never leave you alone in the dark and she does heal you through her words. With all of the feels, this is one story you will want to dive in head first and hope to find air.
This is an awesome Bratva romance. I love the characters, Stefan, Pakhan of the Atlanta Bratva, a widower and close to being 50 years old. He’s good-looking and has a body that is muscles and tattoos. Taara, his housekeeper and personal assistant, is a Russian refugee, with Afghani blood. She is exquisite and reminds him of a foreign princess. This romance is so forbidden as he is old enough to be her father, regardless of this they are drawn to each other. The book is full of danger, intrigue, and full on sex. A great read!
Taara witnesses something she should never have seen.
Now, she must pay the price for being at the wrong place
at the wrong time. Stefan, the Pakhan, leader of his Bratva
family must take Taara in hand or have her eliminated. Being
the young daughter of his former housekeeper, the age difference
should make a difference, but the passion they have for each
other is hard to deny. Taara will call him daddy as they both
work to prove Taara’s loyalty to the Bratva family as she risks
her life to make things right. I enjoyed the connection this May-
December love match has, as Taara and Stefan go through many
tests and trials to prove that Taara is really loyal and innocent.
I am sad to hear that this is the last of the Ruthless Doms series
but am sure that Jane Henry will give us more exciting and sexy
adventures in the future.
Loved, loved, loved this story about Stefan and Taara! After reading the other books in the series, I was hoping Stefan would get his own story. Being he is the Pakhan and Father figure, I just knew his story would be incredible. Taara is a young woman who works for Stefan and has always had a special place in her heart for him. Until one day, she stumbles upon something that makes her feelings for him change. When Stefan has to take matters into his own hands, can he prove to the others that she is the one for him? I love the Russian Bratva style stories, and this one surely doesn’t disappoint. I do believe it is my favorite of this series! While there is an age difference, Taara isn’t some meek little mouse, and she was bound and determined to prove that to Stefan. And needless to say, I love the fact that Stefan’s character is an “older” man to show that lust and love is for all ages! If you want to know what happens between them, then please read this story!
I have been waiting for Stefan’s story since we first met him. I have really liked him through all those books. There were times though, in this one where I got really mad at him and almost didn’t like him. He had some serious cranio-rectal inversion a few times. But, when he dealt with that, he was much better and I liked him again.
Taara is a kind and caring soul. I think that she was pretty strong too, she had to have been to stand up to everything. I think that she was also a little naive, but not in a bad way. I think that things would’ve been would’ve been different had she been just a little less naive, but the book would’ve probably been shorter too.
King’s Ransom is the third book in the Ruthless Doms series, and while it could be read alone, I suggest reading the books in order to get the full richness of this book. Taara has loved Stefan from afar for longer than she should, but when her curiosity gets her into trouble, she can’t decide if Stefan is her savior or her worst enemy. As more danger crosses their path, will Stefan and Taara make their unorthodox relationship work and can they keep each other safe?
Phew, this book gave me the shivers in the best of ways! Stefan and Taara stole my attention right from the very beginning, I loved their forbidden/taboo attraction and love how their trust in one another really came into play, along with the role of the Bratva and how everything works. Stefan is dark, dominant, and ruthless, but he has a strong protective side of his men and those under his protection that helps soften him up some. Taara is sweet and so loyal, I loved her innocence and her intuitive nature, too. They made an incredible team, sometimes with her risking her safety, and their intimacy and sexual tension could be felt through the pages! I loved getting Stefan’s romance, I loved this addition to the series, and really enjoyed reading this book!
When Stefan’s character was first introduced in Priceless, I was hoping that he would get a story and boy did he get one! Stefan is quite the silver fox and as we suspected a Dom to boot. Taara is his housekeeper and quite a bit younger (I am assuming that she is younger than his son Nicholas). Her mother was his housekeeper first but since she has taken ill, Taara took over. She has had a crush on Stefan since she was a teenager but never thought that he would return her affections. When Taara sees something that she shouldn’t, she gets drawn into Bratva business to prove her loyalty. Stefan wants to protect her but he also wants to set a good example of leadership for his men and has Taara join him on his search for a group of rogue group of Bratva human traffickers. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, King’s Ransom stands alone but I recommend reading them as well. This story is told from dual POV and is heavy on heat, action and dominance!
I find this a difficult book to review. Individually, I really liked the characters. I loved the paternal care that Stefan had for his brotherhood & their families. I really liked Taara and her strength of will and character. My problem is though that the emotional connection that I want when I read a book didn’t happen for me with this one. All of the points were there but it just didn’t mesh for me. I appreciated the human trafficking storyline and felt that it was dealt with well but I just don’t have the ‘I can read that again’ vibe from this book.
Taara is the housekeeper of Stefan, the Bratva leader and older man she has a crush on. Taara sees something she shouldn’t while taking pictures of flowers one morning. Stefan keeps her as a prisoner. She will call him Daddy and submit to him. The chemistry between them is scorching. A very well written story that is not to be missed in the Ruthless Doms series.
