When a King loves He loves hardCADEI’ve loved her since we were five years old.We grew up side by side. Two kids tied together by the Kings of Mayhem Motorcycle Club. But I broke us.I broke her.So, she fled. Now she’s back after twelve long years. And I’m going to show her all the reasons why we should be together and make her forget all the reasons why we shouldn’t.INDY I’m back in town but only … years.
And I’m going to show her all the reasons why we should be together and make her forget all the reasons why we shouldn’t.
INDY
I’m back in town but only because I have to be.
I’m here to help my mom bury my father.
And the sooner we get it done, the better.
Because I want to see Cade as much as I want a hole in the head.
He broke me once—no, he broke my everything— and I’ll be damned if I’ll let him do it again.
Get in and get out. That is the plan.
But you know what they say about best-laid plans.

I literally couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it. This book was well written and you will feel all the emotions as you read them on the pages. Cade and Indy grew up together, fell in love, he broke her heart, she left and then came back 12 years later. I like that the book goes back and forth from present to past so that you really get a feel for the characters and their stories as individuals and together. This is a great start to a series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This is a quick read. The story flows easily even though there are flash back chapters. The characters are well written. Second chance romances are my favorite!!!!

What a ride this book was!!! My first book to read by this author and WOW!
Falling in love is so easy when you are young and innocent. You make plans with each other and dream of the day that the plans come true. Although for Indy and Cade, their plans were crushed that one day at the clubhouse.
Managing to survive in life after that dreadful day, 12 years have gone by and Indy finds herself returning home for the first time since the day she left. Although its sad why she is returning, she is coming home.
Cade has had it bad trying to move on these past 12 years. Although now older and wiser??? Will that open the door to a smooth reunion with the gal he has loved since they were young kids growing up next door to each other.
It’s a rough story to read as there are aspects that are hard to deal with even in a fictional book. This book was more of a second chance, friends to lovers set in a Motorcycle Club environment. Although with the ending to this one, book 2 should be more of a MC type book…fingers crossed.

OMG! This was a really good book. I loved the way it was written with both points of view. This was the first time I’ve read Penny Dee… I wasn’t disappointed! I thought this was a wonderful book. (FYI: It does end in a cliffhanger) I can’t wait to read the next book! I really recommend you read this!
I floved this book!! I am not usually a huge fan of past/present type books but this one was really well done and told the story of Indy and Cade from first meeting at 5 years old to coming face to face with each other 12 years after heartbreak.
Indy wants to believe she is over Cade, that the past doesn’t matter but coming back to her hometown brings everything crashing back to the forefront.
Cade had regretted breaking both his and Indys heart, the pain still lingers even all these years later. When tragedy brings Indy back home he sees it as his second chance to reclaim the happiness his life has been missing.
The only thing I wish this book contained was a confrontation between Cade and his father about his father’s role in breaking him and Indy up.
Can’t wait for the next one

Man oh man. Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee was such a great read. It had all the emotions and I laughed out loud multiple times!!! It was an outstanding book. I can’t wait for the second one to be released!!
The book starts with Indigo Blue aka Indy and Cade; they are neighbors and their parents are in the same MC. They met when they were five and they loved each other from that day forward. When they are eighteen and ready for college, their life is turned upside down due to some manipulation by Cade’s father. Indy will leave without Cade and will stay away for twelve years until her father passes and she must come home for the funeral. Cade and Indy still have love for each other but there is a lot of pain and anger as well.
I loved how Penny Dee showed a little backstory with the flashback chapters. It shows even more of the characters personalities and the challenges they faced. Penny Dee does an amazing job of making you fall in love with the characters and also making it feel like your there in the book with them.
I don’t have any negative comments for this book. I think she rocked the whole thing.
In the beginning they had it all.
Cade was the local hero, he had the love of his life, they were preparing to build their future. He started the day having it all, but by the end he had NOTHING. All it took was one mistake. It’s been 12 years. Will he have to live with the consequences forever?
“It rips my heart out to know that the one thing I couldn’t protect you from was me.”
Cade, to the outside he is all business. To those he cares for, he is compassionate, loving, and protective. He was the hot alpha with polished charisma that dropped the panties off many girls, but now he’s an empty shell. His only drive is living for the club.
Indy is a take no punches kind of gal. She tells it like it is. She left the small town and its small town ways behind her. Refusing to grow up and become like her mother, something owned by the club. She leaves her past behind her escaping to Seattle to live out her dreams.
Indy is not afraid of what life has to offer. Except when it comes to Cade.
The sudden death of her father forces Indy to return to the town she couldn’t wait to get away from. The minute she enters town limits her stomach starts to churn cement. How will she endure being back? How will she possibly survive being in the same room as Cade?
This town, these people, they meant nothing to her……. right? She was over Cade, right? But are you truly ever over your first love, a love that ran so deep you feel it in your bones?? As the days pass she begins to question her feelings and her past decisions.
While the preparations for her father’s burial are taking place and the emotional tug-of-war rages, we find other captivating story lines begin unfolding.
Seeing Indy again isn’t what Cade expected. It hits him hard.
“And that was when I realized I wasn’t falling in love with her all over again. Because I had never stopped. I never would. And I was f*@#ing doomed.”
Will penance still need to be served, will history repeat itself, can they move on? Together or apart?
“With that thought, any reservations about what I was about to do turned to ashes and fluttered away on the cool, twilight breeze.”
This was my first Penny Dee book. I can honestly say I am now a true fan. The book was a captivating page turner! The pacing of the writing was good, the plot was enthralling & suspenseful. The writing style was entertaining. It had me laughing, cringing, and thoroughly, emotionally engaged!
i This was my first time reading a book by this author…. I love MC storys and this one was so good Cade has loved Indy since they were 5 yrs old but at 18 just when they both were leaving town to begin college and their life together Cade father broke them up you will have to read to find out how and this led to Indy leaving town for 12 yrs she comes back for her daddy funeral ….. I voluntarily read an arc and recommend this first book of this series
This book was amazing! I loved the writing style, the characters, the plot and I honestly can’t wait till the next in the series comes out! It does end in a little cliffhanger but not about the main characters, Cade and Indy! Their story is beautiful and heart wrenching! The idea of a love like theirs is wondrous and dream worthy. Life has a habit of always trying to get in the way or people try and get in the way but love is a strong fighter! What gets me about this first in the series is it sets you up nicely for future books in the series and makes you truly sad when the current story is over! I am anxiously waiting now for the second as Cade and Indy have begun with their story and now the people in their lives are wanting to tell me their stories, I just know it!
I loved this book! What an exceptional story that really holds your attention throughout.
I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading MC, second chance, and contemporary romance. I look forward to the next book in the series, Brothers in Arms, and finding out more about these characters and what is in store for them.
Penny Dee
This is the 1st book in the series the kings of mayhem. If you love a great MC book, this book is for you. I couldn’t put this book down. The suspense was great. Indy was born into the MC life. She moved next door to Cade and they became best friends. Growing up in the MC life wasn’t for Indy. She wanted out of it. Cade and her had a plan. Leave for college together and make a life. Then Indy walked in on Cade and ran. Its now 12 years later and she is back for her dad. Seeing Cade brings back so many memories. This story was well written and will real you in from the beginning. Can’t wait for the next book.
Indy and Cade always had each other growing up. They were going to have the world as long as they each other. Unfortunately they didn’t understand what they were up against and it all went bad. Indy left but never forgot Cade no matter what she tried. Cade ALWAYS thought of Indy and what they once had.
They’ve both went on with their lives but are they truly happy? Can they leave the heartache in the past and start a new beginning?
I loved Cade and gave a lot. Not just to Indy but to everyone that needed it. Indy got on my nerve sometimes and I wanted to smack her upside her head.
Can’t wait for the next book!
Another MC one I got into with a author I have not read before. This also was a second chance which I am fond of. Hey being we are human and at times we do dumb stuff you never know. In this Cade did some of that dumb stuff but it had a tearing up effect. Indy will have one plan but life will have take the reins on this one. With this being the first one in this series it is a tasty treat. The writing in this one is a nice flow that gives you a rounded read. These two will be trying and pull on the emotions but it will be worth it in the end.
5 STARS FOR CADE AND INDY!! OMG…..I could not put this book down, it was so good. There are so many feels in Cade and Indy’s story, my emotions were all over the place. Cade is so hot and sexy you can feel it oozing off the pages. Indy is beautiful and smart, but has been hurt in the past. These two have grown up together and have so much love for each other, but is it enough for them to work through the issues. This is my first book by Penny Dee and she has gained a reader for life. Her writing style is phenomenal, I can’t wait for the next book.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
It’s interesting that the author chose to start off with a real life event. Just like when it gets reported on the news, this will grab your attention. It’s something that touches so many people – whether you are directly affected or not.
Cade Calley epitomizes someone that lives the MC life. Indigo “Indy” Parrish is a woman who likes to help people. And sometimes she does it with attitude. The author gets creative with her secondary characters. One I especially loved was a woman who may be older than I am but she’s quite a hot ticket – expect to laugh. If you’ve never read an MC before, be aware that these men will not be winning any awards. Some of what they do walks the fine line between what is right and what is on the wrong side of the law. The men love their families and their women but there’s also a flipside to those outside their circle. Violence usually follows in their wake or can creep up on them when they least expect it.
The author mixes the past with the present. It shows how the past can impact your present or your future. That invisible wedge can be a difficult thing to get rid of. This is a story of forgiveness. And not just of others but of ourselves. All of this is interweaved with getting to know the people that make up the Kings of Mayhem MC. There are ups and downs, twists and turns, but don’t expect this to end on a happy note – after all this is just the beginning of our ride with this author and her group of Mayhem men. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s around the next bend.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
My first book by Penny Dee left me hungry for more! With the first book in the Kings of Mayhem series, we get the lowdown on Cade Calley, Indigo Parrish and a bit about both of their family’s history with the MC. I didn’t think the very beginning of the book really added much to the story, and I could have done without the flashbacks to when they were younger quite as often, but overall I felt like this book laid a strong foundation of the close-knit family surrounding this motorcycle club. I’m looking forward to more to come! NOTE … there was a bit of a cliffhanger in this book. Not having to do with the HEA, but a major family/MC moment.
Childhood best friends turned young loves, Cade and Indy thought they’d be together forever. Plans were made and hearts were invested, but one night changed it all. She left town feeling the betrayal of the world on her shoulders, and he stayed and paid for his sins.
Returning home to bury her father, Indy isn’t in any mood to reminisce about the good old days. She wants to get in, get out and go on with her life before the memories of what used to be can weigh her down too much. Seeing Cade again is just the knife in the chest she was expecting … but he’s determined to prove to her that he still cares.
What an amazing storyline! Kings of Mayhem grabbed my attention from page one until the very end! MC books are one of my favorite genres and Penny Dee knocked this one out of the park, the story was well written and flowed perfectly. Kings of Mayhem was written in dual POV and it really dives into the past of how Indy and Cade became Indy and Cade; also their present-day life.
The author made me feel like I was there in the story and meeting these characters for the first time, the chemistry between Indy and Cade was definitely there on each page. Anyone would be able to see and feel it. There were so many feels in the book; as well as tears, sorrow and excitement. I wanted to throw my Kindle a few times. My heart was breaking for Indy; but at the same time I just wanted to knock her out, she was so stubborn and pigheaded. Now, Cade, that is another story. I think I fell in love with his character. He was the sweetest man; he would do anything for anyone in the family, especially “his girl”. My heart just melted when I met him.
This is my first book by Penny Dee and I cannot wait to read more of her work. Kings of Mayhem is the first book in the Kings of Mayhem series. I need to get book two Brothers In Arms soon!
Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee is book One in the Kings of Mayhem Series. This is the story of Indy and Cade. This is one read thst is so freaking hot. It is a 2nd chance at love MC romance that so angsty and emotional. It’s steamy and sexy; full of drama and heartbreak; tension and alpha MC biker hotness. This story has everything that you will devour in one reading.
Cade has loved Indy ever since elementary school where they were BFFs, but when they were 18 he screwed up big time and she left. Fast forward 12 years and Indy
is a surgeon and is seemingly content with her life but her father’s sudden death has her going back to home for his funeral. Indy had left many things behind years before— her family, her friends, the Kings of Mayhem MC and most importantly–her heart.
Seeing everyone brought back a lot of memories, good and bad. Most of all it reminded her of the pain she’d not ever recovered from. Her trust was broken along with her heart shattered and seeing Cade again was so much harder than she ever thought it would be.
Cade made a horrible mistake and he knew it from the moment it happened but he lived his life with no regrets save one. When he learns Indy is back in town, he is determined to prove to her that they are meant to be together forever. The story does flip from present to past. This is told in dual POV which I liked. This is an angsty, steamy, intense, action-packed, driven, chemistry-ladden 2nd chance at love MC romance read that ends on a semi cliffhanger and gets the reader ready for book 2.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
First of all Penny you have knocked it out the ball park with this series! I could not put it down because I needed to know what was going to happen next. I love the MC world you created and it had me at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.
Cade and Indy have been best friends since they were five. They were each others first for everything and they thought they had life all figured out but being young and dumb is the name of the game sometimes and this is what happened when Cade did something to Indy and she ran. She took her broken heart and ran never to return but life is a biatch and has a way of doing it’s own things and Indy has to return to town for her family.
Indy’s goal is to get in and get out fast without having to see or deal with Cade but that does not happen because Cade is determined to get her attention and keep it. He is sorry for what he did and he wants to make amends for it and he will stop at nothing to get Indy back.
This is the first book in the series and the ending left me needing book two like ASAP because I need to know what is going to happen to a few characters we meet. So go on and one click it and enjoy this ride Penny is about to take you on with Cade and Indy!
They Say home is where the heart is, but sometimes the home can be shattered into a million pieces, scattered, jagged and broken just a little bit more with just enough embers burning to keep you going day to day in a somewhat bleak existence.
