INDY
I’m back in town but only because I have to be.
I’m here to help my mom bury my father.
And the sooner we get it done, the better.
Because I want to see Cade as much as I want a hole in the head.
He broke me once—no, he broke my everything— and I’ll be damned if I’ll let him do it again.
Get in and get out. That is the plan.

“She was the light in all my darkness.”
I have a serious addiction to MC Romance that resulted in me trying out this new-to-me-author. I’m pretty surprised to learn after reviewing her backlist to discover that though she’s written other titles, this is her debut motorcycle club story. I’m very impressed and happy to report that it’s damn good.
The author let me know with the blurb that Cade has loved Indy since he was five years old. So I knew going in that this would be a second chance romance. Well, at least I thought it would be. At the very least I knew that he still loved her and that she had good reason to stop loving him. But did she?
I really enjoyed the way the author alternated between past/present to allow me to see the relationship between the characters from childhood to adulthood. Seeing them through each other’s eyes gave me an understanding that they lacked since what they thought and felt wasn’t always what they shared with each other after the big blowup that ended their fairytale future.
They were separated for twelve years before she returned for her father’s funeral. She might have never seen Cade again if not for that. She thought she was over him, but when she saw him again she realized that was a wish that hadn’t come true. —because if I was being really honest, I gave my heart to a boy a long time ago. And he still had it.”
The biker family that Indy had left behind when she fled with her broken heart felt like home when she returned. Seeing everyone brought back a lot of memories, both good and bad. But most of all it reminded her of the pain she’d not ever recovered from. Her trust was broken along with her heart and seeing Cade again was harder than she’d thought it would be. “How was it possible to hate and ache for one person at the same time?”
Cade is determined to prove to her that they are meant to be together and she’s determined that he can’t. She is fighting her feelings but it’s getting harder and harder not to give in to what she really wants… Cade. She only plans to stay a few days and then go back to her life. Will he be able to change her mind?
I love MC romances, so as soon as I saw the preview of the new series I knew immediately that it’ll be on my TBR list. Penny Dee is a new author to me but I‘m sure she will stay with me for longer. Kings of Mayhem is a brilliant story that will surely stay in my memory for a long time and I can’t wait to read a continuation of this book!
Cade and Indy have known each other since childhood. They were both children of members of the same motorcycle club. They quickly evolved from friends to lovers but unfortunately one night destroyed everything they hoped for and after their great love remained only regret and a sense of betrayal. Indy fled to college and completely cut herself off from Cade and the club. However, after 12 years, circumstances bring India back to the homeland. And although both of them have changed a lot through this time, it can’t be denied that their love is still smoldering. Will this meeting be the closure? Or maybe they will fight for their happy ending?
MC romance in it’s finest! Penny Dee created an interesting storyline, great characters and the love plot was interlaced with the dose of drama. The book is well written and draws you in from the first page!
This was a good introduction to the Kings of Mayhem MC, getting to know the characters and setting the world up etc. all while “watching” Cade and Indy get their second chance at their happily ever after. They had loved each since they were 5, although of course they were just best friends back then which turned into love during their teenage years. Cade messed up though and the repercussions were Indy never coming home from med school in Seattle and the pair being apart for 12 long years, until Indy returns to Destiny, Mississippi to bury a loved one. Of course there’s no way Cade is going to waste this opportunity to make Indy see just what she’s missing out on if she returns to Seattle instead of staying in Destiny with him where she belongs.
I really enjoyed this, it was purely about Cade and Indy’s relationship with no MC action (apart from letting us know who everyone is) until the very end when it sets up the next book which I will be diving right into. So while yes, this is kind of a cliffy, it doesn’t matter because the next book is already out, yay. I cant wait to see what’s going to happen next and I give Kings of Mayhem 4 stars.
Kings of Mayhem is book 1 in the Kings of Mayhem MC Series.
I was hooked from the moment I started reading and could not put this book down. This book is told from both Cade and Indy’s points of view which I love. We also get glimpses into the past to know what went on between the two of them as they grew up.
Friends since childhood, the two were inseparable. Finally they both decided to risk their friendship to take a shot at a relationship. Planning to go away to college together they had everything all set until one night when everything changed. Now years later, Indy is back in town for her father’s funeral. Having left for college Indy left behind a life she thought she wanted nothing to do with and she has no plans to stay any longer than she absolutely has to.
12 years ago Cade made a huge mistake. Now he finally has the chance to make things right. He knows he needs to do whatever it takes to get Indy to talk to him and even though revisiting the past will be painful he knows that he can’t just let her walk out of his life again.
Things get intense as danger surrounds the MC and hearts are on the line as Indy finally opens up to how hurt she was.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish! I felt so many emotions throughout the book and there are plenty of hot and steamy moments as well. I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2 in this series to find out what happens next.
A must read book for sure! – By Alisa
This is the first book from Penny that I have read it wont be the last, Cade and Indy were teenage sweethearts on till Cade broke Indy’s heart, Plenty of drama and action that had me griped, I would definitely recommend this one. I just reviewed Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee. #KingsOfMayhem #NetGalley
This is the first book in a new series from this author, and what a fantastic introduction this is! Cade and Indy have grown up together since young children, and had planned out their whole lives as soul mates. When the unspeakable happens, Indy runs. Now 12 years later she is back in her hometown as her dad had passed away. Can Cade and Indy forgive and move on? No spoilers; this is a must read for all MC lovers, you will not be disappointed.
This is a well written story which is raw, gritty, emotional, heartbreaking, and with angst, drama, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read the next book in this awesome series.
I voluntarily reviewed and advanced copy from Give Me Books Promotions.

Wow. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions!
Cade and Indy were childhood sweethearts with a love story so sweet, it’ll give you a cavity. Then the unthinkable unhappened. Overnight, all their plans for college and a life together went up in smoke like yesterday’s trash. To cope, Indy ran away from everything she knew and loved. In her mind, the process of recreating a life for herself meant cutting off everyone she knew but when her father passes away, she must return to the place of her torment and face the people she left behind.
Cade made a mistake (and trust me when I say it’s not a black and white issue) and it cost him the love of his life. For twelve years, his heart has longed for her, while the club girls filled his bed. Was it wrong? In his heart, he knows it is because there will never be anyone but Indy but that’s club life. As unfulfilling as each encounter was, it was the only way he knew how to attempt to move on. The totally messed up situation ripped his heart out twelve years ago. When she returns, the vessel in his chest started beating again. Indy might believe they were destroyed but he knows they are destined to be together and he’s ready to prove it.
Honestly, I was prepared to dislike this book. I don’t think I’m giving anything away when I say the H cheated on the h but rarely do I ever side with the cheater! After everything came out in the wash, I was team Cade on this one. Cade was an exceptionally easy character to fall in love with. He’s a tough as nails biker with a beautiful heart that beats only for his family and Indy. Flawed as he was, I adored him. Indy was a little tougher to love. After running from Cade, she disappears from the lives of everyone she knew. When she returns home, she is a stuck up snob, looking down her nose at everyone; think Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama. Slowly she finds herself and all she used to love about her life there. In the end, I enjoyed the reborn Indy! I also loved the back and forth glimpse of their life story. With the total exception of the truly crazy ending (which had me gasping out loud and sets up book 2 of the series) I truly loved Cade and Indy’s story! I can’t wait for more!

**4.5**
Cade and Indy were childhood sweethearts. They grew up in the club together, fell in love and were going to get out. They were going to go off to college and start a new life away from the club together. Until a tragic incident makes Cade a hero which prompts the club to throw a party in his honor. When your dad is the Prez you can’t say no. But that party would be the end of Cade and Indy. Twelve years later, Indy comes home to bury her dad and comes face to face with Cade again. And Cade isn’t letting her walk away again.
I don’t think there is redemption when cheating is involved so I struggled with that but it wasn’t intentional and there was actual remorse so . . . I was able to move past it. And I really, really detest when I get intimate details of a MC hooking up with someone other than the other MC so that was also a huge turnoff for me. That being said, I adored this book. Cade and Indy were perfection. I could feel their love for each other and their turmoil with being so close to each other again. This was the perfect amount of push and pull. I really loved their second chance journey. It is one of my favorite second chance books of all time. I am really excited about continuing this series.
4 stars for Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee. This is book one in the Kings of Mayhem MC series. Wow of Wow where do I start with this book. Cade and Indy were in love when they were 18 and had big plans to go to college together, until one night when Cade ruined it all. Indy left and hadn’t come back for six years, now she is back. These two’s relationship drama gave me so many feels. I shed some tears and even wanted to throw my kindle at some times. This book had everything I love in a book. It had steam, drama, suspense, hot mc men, love and so much more. If you love MC romances, then this is a book for you.
I devoured this incredible read. I was a sucker for this second chance romance that managed to have one foot in the past, and the other in the present. I loved how seamlessly Dee was able to tell the story of how Cade and Indi became who they once were, and who they are at this moment. It was a winding road full of ups and downs, mistakes, pain, and triumphs. I hated Cade’s actions at times, but I saw where he was coming from And Indi *whistles. Sweet girl had baggage for days, and serious wounds, some inflicted by the one man she thought she could always trust. This is a smoking must read
Kings Of Mayhem
Cade and Indy have been each other’s lifeline since they were 5yrs old, they even married each other when they were 9. Having that type of friendship, love at that age is rare. As teenagers they went through a heartache that broke them, it took someone dying for Indy to come back home and finally face their past. Lots of hurtful words were said but it worked just in the nicked of time cause the club is about to be hit with a world of hurt and mayhem due to someone’s else actions. I’ve gotta say, my first time reading anything by author Penny Dee, she made me feel everything these characters were feeling
What a great read. I loved Indy and Cade and their ‘all of life’ romance. I am definitely reading all of Penny’s books now!
Cade and Indy grew up as friends and turned out being the love of each others life, that is until Cade screwed it all up. Indy left to pursue her dreams and Cade stayed in the Kings of Mayhem doing his part. No matter what Cade does though he can’t move past Indy. Now Indy is back for her fathers funeral and has to face Cade. Indy has moved on but at the same time she needs to get answers and own up to her own mistakes that came from her leaving. Can Indy and Cade begin again or will they both do better staying apart?
This one was heart wrenching. I felt for Indy and once you get the scope of what happened you want this couple to work. I also appreciated the fact that Indy had to fix some of the relationships she had damaged by walking away. All the characters are fantastic in this book and I look forward to reading more in this series
When two young 5 year olds meet by chance by being neighbors and put together being part of an MC a love of the deepest kind will definitely follow. Cade and Indy grow up together as the best of friends always hanging around and always seeking each other out. Growing up as the beat of friends wasn’t as easy as you would think when love played a big roll with these two. In this story you will see the flashbacks from both perspectives. From the way they fall in love to the fall of the relationship and the coming together at a time of need. This is a story of a young love involved with an MC not so much an MC novel. But a great read non the less. Happy reading I’m on to the next.
This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.
I enjoyed this book but it had some hiccups along the way. I felt a lot of things were added simply for dramatic effect. Yes, we need drama in our stories but we don’t need to throw everything but the kitchen sink into one.
I liked that our two main characters grew up together and have always been there for one another. Cade was the perfect best friend and was always there to protect Indy. As the two got older, feelings started to develop on both ends but neither one wanted to risk the friendship by admitting it to the other. It was funny seeing them be jealous when going out on dates or simply talking to someone else.
The story is told by alternating between the past and the present. So we get to see our characters from a young age all the way to present day. It was nice seeing everything they’ve been through.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I just wish we didn’t have so much unnecessary drama. It felt over the top at times.
This was book 1 in the “Kings of Mayhem MC” . For 12 years Cade Calley has been living with a broken heart that he was the cause of. When one of his club brothers die the only woman that he has ever loved comes back. Indigo “Indy” Parrish left the small town behind with a broken heart when her father died she returns back to her past. I really liked this book but I wanted to slap both of them. This book was told from the POV of both of them and past and now. Indy and Cade both grew up as MC kids with Cade’s grandfather starting the club. Indy came back stuck up and putting the other women down I was glad when Abby told her off. Cade who has never stopped loving her I really liked him a hot sexy biker. Indy spent 12 years running from the heartache that Cade caused her and from the club because of how her father became after her brother died. I also liked the secondary characters in this book. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series as this one left of on a cliffhanger.
First in the series, and what an introduction!
Cade and Indy grew up in the MC together, but a set up leads to heartbreak and a 12 year separation.
When Indy comes back to bury her dad, all the old feelings come back but there’s still a lot to work through.
A lot of past and present chapters to bring us up to date with their story which some might find annoying but personally this works for me. A book which has a HFN ending and a cliffhanger that will make you one click the next book!
I haven’t been able to read series books for awhile because the first one is really good and then the second is so bad. Well, these three are really great. Not just really great MC books, but really good books. Plus, I just love those bad boys.
I’m a sucker for MC stories. This is my first Penny Dee book and it hooked me enough to keep reading this series. This is a steamy second chance romance that’s full of angst. Could have done with a bit more grovel, but hey, I’m always up for more grovel. Cade and Indy’s history is filled with drama, but honestly it was the ending that will keep me coming back.
I received an advance copy from Give Me Books Pr on behalf of the author and I volunteered to leave an unbiased review.
Hooked me right away, kept me wanting more!
