This is the second half of the duet, so pick up King’s Men first or you’re liable to be quite lost!
I needed this conclusion, with the ending open to the potential for some kind of ‘normal’ relationship for these characters. Every action and motivation and interaction is so steeped in lies, control, power plays, etc. that it’s a bit hard to feel close to anyone in the story. I needed the possibility of something else to feel satisfied with this revenge romance.
All told, this was much easier to read than King’s Men, but I am definitely left wanting more information on a number of fronts, but mainly with Ronan and Hunter. The conclusion makes sense, and with a start from zero these characters can be more – and I need them to. The only slightly redeemable character in the lot at this point is Masha.
A well-done intrigue and drama revenge romance, just not totally my cup of tea.
So this was book two in the Savage Fall duet and considering book one totally smashed my walls down in terms of what I was comfortable with: meant for me there was a degree of trepidation going into this.
So this one was slightly milder in terms of content than its predecessor: I also enjoyed this slightly less.
In a way, Blake is now after the revelations at the end of book two trying in his very controlling fashion to somehow win back Snow’s affections with limited success.
This time around Blake did seem more human but I did find that both characters here struggled in expressing there finer feelings.
No one seems to be able to say sorry and I struggled to feel the love here much to my disappointment.
There was definitely an intense connection here but I felt this seemed more carnal and physical in nature rather than emotional, their interactions at times just seemed so impersonal.
Perhaps on reflection, it was the lack of meaningful conversation expressed between these two that caused me to question the authenticity of there feelings.
What this did have going for it was that it was still a really gripping read that I managed to read in one sitting.
It was also very well written and despite this being a somewhat uncomfortable journey of discovery I am still very glad I stayed the whole course.
This was an interesting and intense experience.
On a final note can I just say I am a trifle bemused by that ending it was just so abrupt and open-ended in nature.
It just seemed really unfinished like it was halted mid-stride and left me slightly perplexed.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of King’s Horses (The Savage Fall, #2).
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Captivating and Outstanding Story!!! 5+ Stars
WOW! What an ending to a terrific duet. So many twists and turns and secrets. I loved it! When I finished King’s Men – Book 1, I was on pins and needles waiting for this book and still once I started it I was on the edge the entire time not knowing how it was going to turn out. How does an author write such a book, she has to be brilliant and have a very creative mind. Lana Sky definitely does. This book will take hold of your mind and you will not be able to escape until the last page. Read King’s Men Book 1 first if you havent read it and then King’s Horses. You will love both book!
Incredible what a page turner and I love how we get to see both sides of Blakes and Snowy sordid stories and it is not easy they are so tormented with so many secrets and questions needing answers it breaks your heart as the trust is built then broke with so much pain as they are pulled together and then pushed away from the damage their past has done to them. I really loved Snowys strength in this one she held her own the only way she knew how even when everyone and Blake pushed and pushed these to have a connection that can never be ignored its so beautiful and painful all at the same time and Blake was so tortured it brings all the emotion out in you as you can literally hear his every word right down to your very soul. So well written with such amazing developed characters it captivates you.
Lana Sky has carefully crafted an intensely dark novel that captures your attention from the very beginning. The roller coaster I experienced during the first book has continued to wind, twist, climb, and dive to deeper depths. One doesn’t know what is going to happen around the next curve.
Blake and Snowy have a tumultuous relationship that continues to attract and challenge each other at every turn. They rediscovere deep feelings for each other as they continue to explore those feelings and find out how their lives have been impacted by their pasts.
Snowy continues to find her inner strength while Blake uses his manipulative skills to influence her at every turn. Can they ever reconcile their pasts and their feelings? What will Blake’s continual manipulation do to Snowy and her hopes of a future with him?
Lana Sky really knows how to hook a reader! I get sucked into all her books this one was no disappointment. I couldn’t wait to read King’s Horses but it was so worth that wait. It’s the perfect continuation and conclusion of Blake and Snowys story. You don’t want to miss this book! It’s completely amazing and brilliant!
This was another great dark story by this author. It is book two of the Savage Falls duet. In order to understand what is going on and exactly who the characters are, you do need to read book one first. There is so much angst in the one; between Snowy and her two brothers, between Snowy and Blake, and between Blake and his sister. Snowy and Blake have so much chemistry, but there is also so much back-and-forth, push-and-pull with them that it can get frustrating at times. More secrets and twists are revealed it’s no wonder no one knows who to trust. Danger seems to be lurking around every corner as well. The story kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
This book brings to light everything that happened in the past between them. Altough the first book led us to think about Blake as a villain, it turns out that he is not a villain after all, but still a broken little boy. I have a confession: as manipulative and twisted and secretive as he was from the first glimpse, I still loved him and I loved how he struggled to not love Snow.
The truth is spilled, Humpty Dumpty is whole again and the once best friends are finally reunited.
This book had me screaming and crying and smiling, it shows the slowly healing of two broken hearts. It’s beautiful, it’s a piece of art and in my opinion this duet is the most intriguing books that Lana wrote. I couldn’t have dreamed on a more fitting end for them. But don’t take my word on it,read for yourselves, it’s worth every dime and more.
I started this book extremely excited, especially after reading Kings Men and reaching that jaw dropping cliffhanger ending, and all i can say that i found this installment to be perfect. My favourite part was that we actually got to see great character development for both main characters, which for me helped in connecting with them as that was something that i didn’t feel in the first book. All in all this book was intense, totally unexpected, had great characters and it was a great ending for this series.
Wooooowwww!!!!! Lana Sky pulled out all the stops on this book!!!!! The ending was absolutely fitting!!!! Lord love a duck, this book was an emotional roller coaster of literary delight!!!!! Five full stars!!!!!!
There are not enough stars on here for this book. Not only could I not put this one down either..seriously I read it in one go..I couldn’t read FAST ENOUGH!! Lana Sky took me on the ride of my life with this one..Trust me you don’t know what your in for!!
Damnashen & Hellfire
My emotions were chaotic and conflicting..I was happy and sad, excited anxious with peeks of fear always on alert as the unexpected twists kept getting more unexpected completely throwing me off kilter filled with rage and irritation wanting to throw my kindle but my desperation takes hold and reels me back in steeling myself for more of the brutally intense drama to come all while thinking to myself how could it possibly get any worse or more intense only to be shocked rendered into a stupified state of the cold hardening words that continue to spin a web that I didn’t think I would be able to overcome as the broken desperation seeped deep into my heart twisting and pulling always with a painstaking tug.
Brutally broken punishing chemistry with a conflicting desperate need to annihilate with a cold harden heart. A tsunami of emotions that are impossible to escape and impossible to live through as your being pulled fiercely from one emotions to the next with no time to recover.
Intense, edgy, exciting, enjoyable, sad, painful, danger, heart-pounding, angst, sass, fierce, grueling, dominating, dark, steamy, lies, betrayal and explosive shocking twists. An in your face intense must read that will be impossible to put down! One heck of a nerve rattling read that I absolutely loved!
