What woman wouldn’t be happy to be claimed by a dominant prince? I am soon to be taken by four.
Amidst a backdrop of war with the ShadowFell, the four sons of King Vukuris battle among themselves as dragons— not only for the crown, but for first rights to my innocence. While one will be victorious on the battlefield, all will eventually conquer me in the bedchamber with a combination of power … bedchamber with a combination of power and prowess.
But there is another battle, a silent one, and it rages inside me. My memories of being held captive by the ShadowFell are returning — memories that bring pain and make me doubt my ability to be a good queen. Will those memories drive a wedge between me and my mates? It is a matter of life and death for the Empire, for within me may lie the secret to defeating the enemy.

This story of Zara, Isla’s little sister brings us to the Drakoryan Empire where
after King Vukun’s death, his 4 sons get to battle for the right to be King and to take the bride’s virginity. Zara is destined to be queen but she has a darkness haunting her that they must find a way to rid her of. Bymir is the oldest, Rargi the second oldest, Yrgi, the second youngest and Oneg, the youngest who also has an enormous chip on his shoulder. The brothers must fight for the right to the crown, the innocence of their mate and the Kingdom of all the Drakoryans. We get to see some of the previous Drakoryans and their brides, along with some back story of what happened when Zara was captured and kept prisoner of the ShadowFell. As each Prince and King take Zara, they each learn some valuable lessons about Zara’s nature and surprisingly, of their own too. This fifth book in the Drakoryan Bride Series gives us more of the complete story of the war for their Kingdom and the battle against the evil Shadowfell. It was a great adventure with insight into the inner workings of the kingdom and the personal feelings of all involved with the future of the King’s Bride. Zara cannot get pregnant until after completing the Deepening, so I am hoping we see more of her and her mates in the future and of course, Sabine too, she has a place in everyone’s lives and success for happiness for all. ( I hope )
I think this is the best one yet. There is so much going on and so much emotion in this story. Zara was a prisoner of the Shadowfell and now she is going to be Queen of the Drakoryan Empire. Her dragons are the princes and they have their own baggage. This story will make you smile, get angry, smile, and then be proud of them all. It is a wonderful addition to the series. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Amazing Series. King’s Bride is a great addition to the Drakoryan Bride series. Zara is to become queen of the Drakoryans. She will have four mates Bymir, Rargi, Yrgi and Oneg but, she fears the shadowfell because she knows he will come for her. This is another riveting read and I would definitely recommend it.
Each book that Ava Sinclair adds to her Drakoryan series just makes the series better and better. Not only are we getting more people in the world and learning more about it, we’re also getting more of the overall story and more intrigue and more to love. This one is no different and it just adds so much more into the rest of the series that I love it so much. I mean, the whole series is great to start with, but this one takes it to a whole new level.
King Vukuris is dead. He died in the last huge battle against the ShadowFell. Now everything is at a standstill until a new king is crowned and his queen has been claimed by all of her mates. Vukuris has 4 sons,Bymir, Rargi, Yrgi, and Oneg. who will do battle to see who will be king and who will be the first one to mate with Zara.
The king of the ShadowFell had planned to claim Zara, but Vukuris managed to chase him away, so the 4 Princes were able to claim her instead. She’s scared because she has dreams where the bad dragon invades her brain and she’s so scared of him and of being a bride, let alone a queen. She doesn’t want to let anyone down, but she will do her duty.
Not only is there all the strife in between the good guys and the bad guys, there’s also strife within the ranks, which opens everyone up to more trouble. Learning to get over that and through that works so well for everyone. I loved the story and I loved all the interesting developments. And on a sidenote, the King’s Oracle is kind of awesome.
Drakoryan Brides, Book 5. From the ashes of tragedy comes the greatest of tests. Can the Drakoryans pass it?
SPOILER ALERT: WHILE EACH BOOK IN THIS SERIES CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE, THIS BOOK, IN PARTICULAR, SHOULD BE READ AFTER THE FIRST FOUR BOOKS. IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE FIRST FOUR BOOKS, THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.
The entire Drakoryan Empire is in mourning. And Zara’s been thrust into the midst of the chaos swirling in the aftermath. Exactly who and what is Zara? Even she doesn’t know. She so wants to be like her sister, Isla, strong, beautiful, the first War Bride. When Zara’s offered as bride to the Drakoryan princes, does she really have a choice? The Drakoryans took her in when she was near death, had nowhere to go. She owes them for saving her. As the Drakoryan princes, Bymir, Rargi, Yrgi, and Oneg, gather to fight for the right to be king and first rights to Zara, she knows things will change once the battle is over. She has no idea how much. The key to holding the Drakoryan Empire together is the winning of the new queen’s heart and the Deepening. It’s an often time-consuming process. But time is now a luxury no one has. Each brother must win Zara in his own special way. It’s not easy, but Bymir, Rargi, and Yrgi slowly ease their way into Zara’s life, if not her heart. But it’s Oneg, with his anger, hotheaded temper, and pride, who holds so much in his hands. The battle that cost them all so much was Zara’s fault, wasn’t it? Although no one else will say it, she knows it in her heart. She feels responsible for the losses the princes, the entire Empire, have suffered. While the others are quick to calm her doubts, it’s Oneg who gives voice to Zara’s deepest fears. Has Oneg’s hatred and entitlement just doomed everything? Without a connection between Oneg and Zara, there can be no Deepening. Without the Deepening, there is no hope. So much has already been sacrificed by so many. Can there be more? Just as it seems all is lost, there are flickers of hope, glimmers of faith, faintest whispers of truth, things just beyond reach. Can anything make a difference? It will take strength and power the likes of which have never been seen before. No ordinary mortal can pull this off. Just who, what will be sacrificed this time? And will it be enough to save the king, queen, princes, and the entire Drakoryan Empire?
This time the Drakoryan Empire has been literally torn apart by cataclysm. So much is lost forever. But out of the ashes, Ava Sinclair has created a phoenix of hope. I absolutely adored Zara and her four men. Each Fire Bride in each book is captivatingly unique. But Zara isn’t just a lady of the Empire. She’s the queen. Her men are the king and princes of the Empire. There’s so much more at stake here than ever before. Zara was the one who literally pulled me into this story. Her bravery, stamina, and, most of all, resilience make her absolutely breathtaking. The king and princes? They’re the ultimate Drakoryans: strong, handsome, brave, half man, half dragon. They’ve lost so much. Yet even while surrounded by the deepest sorrow, they never, ever give up. The action in this series is nonstop, but this story tops all the previous ones. I seriously don’t know how Ms. Sinclair does it. But with each new book, the tension, uncertainty, and mysteries grow. I literally could not put this book down. The lords and ladies of Mounts Fra’hir, Za’vol, Jo’lyn, and Gro’han return and all play pivotal roles. Lady Lyla, in particular, brings hope to a seemingly hopeless world. The ShadowFell have vanished. So have the witches of the Wyrd. To where? And why? The Mountain of Kings seems virtually unscathed, but the Mystic Mountain appears all but gone. Is either really true? (To find out, you’ll have to read the book!) Ava Sinclair again shows exactly why she rules this genre. This is, by far, one of the very best reverse harem novels I’ve read. Five stars doesn’t begin to do this justice. Congratulations, Ms. Sinclair! You’ve outdone yourself again!
A final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to a book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading
Ava Sinclair did a beautiful job with King’s Bride.
Zara is great character, although I could not empathize with her. I felt for what she had to go through.
Her men: Brymir, Rargi, Yrgi, and Oneg are such individual personalities and they really shine.
This story is easy to follow and unique.
Dragon princes meet their queen and their fierceness is tamed. With shadow of enemy looming over them, they find love. This is one in a long series, earlier one should be read first for story continuation. As usual, lots if steam, magic and fantasy.
