I read the series that came before this one and I was excited to read all about Violet and her kings. Well princes as the story starts. Violet knows that she has a lot to prove to the world to be able to keep the place that she inherited from her father. A Kingmaker decides who is best to lead and this is how thrones are take and wars are stop. It quite a steamy adventure for them. It is in the castle of Kingsbury which in the future will become the school. It was a fun and interesting look in the history of Kingsbury.
Rachel Angel has written a 5-star book that grabs you from the first page to the last page. This is the story of Violet, who has been trained to fight and she is good at it. Her father is the Kingmaker and she thinks that when something happens to him that she will become the Kingmaker. On the night of a big party, her father has thrown for all the Kings around the area one of the Kings was poisoned and her father was stabbed trying to help the King of Islandia. The next morning Violet is called and everyone is told that she is to be the next Kingmaker. There are some who are not happy with this so they challenged Violet being named the Kingmaker. Whit the competitions she has been in she has won but they are getting harder. The next one she has to fight one on one and the man she is fighting is out for blood since he doesn’t like her. He is not following the rules and things don’t go well for her or some of the other men. While the rest of the men are going after him, another man comes in at grabs Violet and starts dragging her away. She asks why he was doing this and he tells her that she would not be Kingmaker. She asks where was he taking her and she was told someplace far, far, away and by the time they found her, another Kingmaker would be named.
Even with this book leaving off on a cliffhanger it was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

It was an interesting read. I would have liked to see a little more background on the characters but the story line was intriguing.

A great way to spend a few hours. The MC was funny and made me like her from the start, the plot was gripping and interesting. Only pet peeve I had was the way it ended. Choppy and abrupt, with no tiny resolution or ‘goodbye’. It felt incomplete, even as I knew it was just a book 1 of a series. Would love to read more about the characters and be there for their happily ever after. The author is truly talented, in my humble opinion.

My first book by this author and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. The characters are well developed and engaging. The chemistry in this storyline has substance and flowed easily.

When the kingmakers are gone then they can make their own kings. Now would be the time to get the book.
Interesting read about a woman who faces a challenging role as kingmaker. I received an ARC copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If there is one message the author is trying to get across, in addition to the entertainment aspect, it is the fact that women are equal. When tragedy strikes, Violet steps up to fulfill her legacy, only to have road blocks (or shall we say handsome princes) thrown in her way. Her unique approach to the challenges adds to the story’s appeal. While it is clear that danger is near, the author has laid out a foundation for future installments. The cliffhanger left me wanting more because I had no idea which direction the plot was going. From a heat standpoint, Violet and the princes generate plenty of sparks.

Violet has been raised all of her life by her father, the current kingmaker, and assumed if something ever happened to him, she’ll succeed him as the next kingmaker; however, when he’s stabbed and unable to fulfill his duties, a tournament is held to find the next kingmaker until he recovers. I enjoyed the book but it left off with a cliffhanger, which I don’t like, and there wasn’t but one reference to anything fantasy that I noticed.

The beginning of the tale is short. The world building is done well. The h seems both young and wise. The world doesn’t seem to work on any virginity hang-ups. There is no stigma for the h to fall into lust with one of two brothers, only to have the other brother later. This glimpse of a continuing story arc is more in the couple than in a reverse harem. My guess is if you keep reading the h will hook-up with the others. This is a cliffhanger so if you are invested in this peek of the world, you’ll have to get the others.
I liked the solution of tests, without adding a spoiler. The one glaring issue, to me, is the appearance of people who are not of the kingdom yet live there. There’s no history, or back story of any others. So the mystery will continue. The read time is decent but would be great if a complete story. The writing flows smoothly along.

I wasn’t t sure if I would enjoy this book, but once I started I couldn’t put it down starter later in the am, and just fini ked it now. All I got to say this is super strong sweet book. It goes to show you any woman can do whatever a man can.woman power there you have. Beautiful woman can have brains and all that. I think if anyone is may needing a pep talk as you would say it this book has it. Also some pretty steamy sex scenes. Pick it girls. Enjoy.

What a great start to a great new series from this author. Once I picked up my kindle I could not put down. I just had to find out what happened next. I was completely consumed by Violet and her story. She is a tough character, who fights what is right and those she loves. My kind of character.
The plot was engaging, the characters interesting and the pace is fast. I mean really, before I knew it, I was done. I was that invested.
So overall, Kingmaker’s Kings was a can’t put down first installment to the Kingmakers of Kingsbury series. I would highly recommend this book.
This is a good start to this series. We find out more information about Violet and her men. What she has to go through after the loss of her father. Who will be there for her? Who will help support her in her journey? My one drawback was how Tempest was thrown in this book. It is still.a good book to read. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
There are no word to describe how I feel having read Tempest and now Violet Kingsbury. These tough ladies just blow my mind with how strong they are. And their men love them and just to knowing they are the same lady having been reborn just makes them even better to read. thank you for Tempest’s past life
*Spoiler Alert*
This follows Violet (FMC) a relative to Tempest (FMC in the Bad Boy royals of Kingsbury Prep series) and the first female Kingsmaker. All her trials to become one with all the prejudices against her being female. Violet is witty, smart and strong just a great character all round. My god that ending though??? Cant wait to see what happens in book 2
Another fantastic read from Rachel Angel!! We get Violet’s story and she is another amazing heroine chic and who isn’t afraid of anything. This book intrigued me from the very beginning. I can’t wait to read more of this series!!
Rachel does it again!! another fantastic series & LOVE Violet! can’t wait to see where this adventure goes!
This is the first book in a new series by Rachel and I must say I did enjoy it very much. Violet is a tough main character who wants to fight and protect what is right and what she believes in. I enjoyed way the story started out and how Rachel pulls you in from the beginning. I personally can’t wait to see what happens next as these books always seem to take you on an adventure.
What a great way to start a new series! Violet is a very strong main character who can keep up with the princes she is competing against to be the next Kingmaker. Some of them don’t appreciate her being apart of the competition! I loved how we got to know all of the characters and can’t wait to see what’s in store for her & her men in the next book!
This is a good start to the series. I love how we start to learn about the characters and what there personalities might be. I already love the FMC. Cany wait to see what happens in book 2
