This is a fantastic read and a great beginning to a new series. The non stop twists and turns will not disappoint. I was hooked from start to finish. I loved the storyline and how everything came together. The way Emerald grew into her own becoming a fierce, strong, and powerful woman. The Elvin King with his sinister ways and how he grew to change. The realms of the different world’s and how somehow all connected was a fantastic way to intertwine the human world with the Fae. I loved the idea of fate and the different types of magic that each possessed and contributed. Then the ending all I can say is wow it totally blew my mind and I can’t wait to read the next book.
KOR is the first book I’ve read by this Author. The beginning of this book is jam packed with a lot of back story so you understand who is who and everyone’s backgrounds. The main character is Emerald and I love her all the way around. She’s strong, smart, loyal and a complete force to be reckoned with. She also finds her mate, but I’m not spilling spoils on their steadiness. A brilliant first book in this series and I can’t wait to read more.
I thoroughly enjoyed this debut book by Bianca McKay. You find yourself immersed into a fantasy world filled with mortals and magical creatures. The characters are dynamic and the storyline is engaging.
Emerald has always felt like she didn’t fit with her family and the people of Duine. A visit from The Elven King, Lord of Death, Ecaeris Valanor changes her life forever. Her father sacrifices her to keep himself, his wife, and son safe. Emerald’s journey of discovery pushes her to do things she never thought she would be capable of. The twists and turns will test her commitment to the Elven King and his people. The secrets, lies, betrayal and revenge will keep you captivated until the very end. This is a five star must read that will have you anxiously awaiting book two.

CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!!!
OMG OMG OMG you must read… I will not ruin it but you will NOT be disappointed…
Kingdom of Ruin was a pleasant surprise. It took me a few days of getting into it (had other stuff going on) but once I sat down and started to read it uninterrupted I found that I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed Emerald. She was an enjoyable female lead and a very strong female character.
I love fantasy novels with great world building and interesting and complex characters. I especially love fantasy novels that have elves, fairies and mystical beings and Kingdom of Ruin had all of this. The reason I only gave it 4 stars (actually I give it 4.5 stars) is that the writing was a little choppy and our main lovers could of spent a little more time getting to know each other BUT I’m glad we didn’t have to spend chapters (or book after book) reading why the our main male lead was battling his feelings and undeniable connection to our kick ass female lead.
I understand that this is the authors’s first novel and it was a great first novel. Now, my last complaint, I needed book two, like yesterday .
An interesting story to read as I usually don’t read this genre. Truly remarkable plotline was easy to follow and kept my attention. The characters were impressively written.
