I loved this book. Page turner for sure. I have to say the twists in this book was awesome to read. It kept you wondering what would happen next. To read about Elves and Fairies, I found intriguing!! To watch King Kiirian’s ways of running the Fairies and the deception to the Elves. I enjoyed the ending and I wish the same as Ellisar at the end. Thank you Bianca for another great book. For a new author, she writes amazingly. Make sure you read Kingdom of Ruin first you will love it just as much as this one.
All I can say is WOW! I loved the first book in this series, but this one captured me completely and I read it straight through. Azariah is the main character and holy crap is this woman strong. Azariah finds her mate in this story and is captured by him. The things her mate has done and does himself to her are absolutely devastating. You definitely will need Kleenex, chocolate, and will wish for him to die a very violent death as I did. I’ve never wanted a fictional character to be offed violently but Kiirian ohhh you’ll see when you read no spoilers from me. A must read and reread for me, anxiously awaiting the next book in this series..
After reading book one, Kingdom of Ruin, I have been anticipating this continuation of the series. There were many shocking twists woven into this story which indeed garnered my rapt attention and had me reading straight through in one sitting. Azariah, whom is a friend of the Elven Queen, is kidnapped from her chambers and finds herself a prisoner of the Fae King. When she realizes that he is her mate, she clings to the faintest of hope that she can help bring light, peace and love back to both the Fae and Elven kingdoms. The Fae King is not an honorable or just ruler. He rules his Kingdom despicably. He has heard of his mate saving the kingdom. Does he realize that the Elven woman in his dungeon is indeed his fated mate? Would the Goddesses be so cruel? This was truly a remarkable novel, penned in vivid detail with very strong characters. I highly recommend reading this novel if you are a fan of PNR.
Wow! What a sequel! Kingdom of Desolation truly lives up to its title of Desolation! So tragically beautiful and heartbreaking. This is not a HEA so if that is what you are here for, turn around.
This is the tragic story of Elf Azariah and her piece of sh*t mate, Kiirian, King of the Fea and the land of Eidera. We meet both Azariah and Kiirian in the first book, Kingdom of Ruin and Kingdom of Ruin ends with Kiirian having Azariah kidnapped to hold as leverage against the Elf King and Queen, only to quickly realize that they are true mates. What a wicked game Fate plays as Kiirian hates all things that are not a mirror image of himself and he truly hates the Elves with a hate that defies all logic.
This book was a story of soul crushing heartbreak. I’m not even sure anything good came out of this story but it is a story that had to be told in order to move forward the plot of The Three Kingdoms and to understand what is killing the land of Onixath, we needed to understand the unparalleled hate of the Fae King. Azariah and Kiirian’s story is full of twists, meddling goddesses, loss and the rebirth of hope.
Azariah is a tragic character that did not deserve what Fate gave her. I really wish that Azariah’s fate was different because she had such a beautiful soul and she truly wanted to help the Fae and all of Onixath. But, I do understand why her story had to be written the way it was and why it had to end the way it ended. She has an important part to play in the war that is to come and even though Fate dealt her a rotten hand in life, I believe that Azariah is meant for greater things. I think I’m just trying to make myself feel better because, F-U King Kiirian! I have never read such a despicable character and I have read some truly shi**y male leads. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about Kiirian. Not even a tinny, tiny, little sliver of any goodness is in that man.
I’m really enjoying this new fantasy series and I’m looking forward to reading more. While Azariah’s story was very hard to read at times and my heart broke for her several times, I really liked it. I liked that the ending stayed trued to how the story unraveled. That everything wasn’t suddenly all unicorns and puppy dogs for our ill fated couple. I like that when I think of Azariah I feel a true sadness for her and that is a compliment to Ms. McKay’s ability to tell a story and to develop characters that a reader ends up really caring about. The reason I gave the book only 4 stars instead of 5 was that there were some grammatical errors that became hard to ignore. Honestly, I would give the book 4.5 stars if possible because it was really good, I loved it!
After reading Kingdom of Ruin and with the way it ended, I couldn’t wait for the next book! Let me tell you, it is absolutely incredible! Azariah is a friend to the Elven Queen and is taken from her chambers one night and brought to a dungeon. When she realizes she is imprisoned by her own mate, it brings her so much sadness. Can she change how he feels about her? Throughout this story I hoped against hope for a happy outcoming for Azariah, but you will have to read this amazing story to find out what happens to her and the Fairy kingdom. The Fae King is not a kind man and as you read this story, you will come to find out so much more about him. There are so many twists and turns in this story and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! The interactions between all the characters keeps you hooked to the point you just can’t put down this book! A brilliant read! And now I am anticipating Book #3!!
The Fae King and Azariah’s story is book two in The Three Kingdoms series. This is a fast paced fantasy tale filled with magic, betrayal, and revenge. You can’t help becoming emotionally invested in the characters and this storyline. Azariah was ripped away from everything and everyone she knows in the dead of night. Now she is a prisoner of the Fae King, a man that despises her based on ingrained hatred from his childhood. At no fault of her own she is now destined to a life filled with cruelty and emptiness. Will Azariah be able to break the curse and restore life back into Eidera?
