THE KING OF WALL STREET IS BROUGHT TO HIS KNEES BY AN AMBITIOUS BOMBSHELL. I keep my two worlds separate. At work, I’m King of Wall Street. The heaviest hitters in Manhattan come to me to make money. They do whatever I say because I’m always right. I’m shrewd. Exacting. Some say ruthless. At home, I’m a single dad trying to keep his fourteen year old daughter a kid for as long as possible. If … daughter a kid for as long as possible. If my daughter does what I say, somewhere there’s a snowball surviving in hell. And nothing I say is ever right.
When Harper Jayne starts as a junior researcher at my firm, the barriers between my worlds begin to dissolve. She’s the most infuriating woman I’ve ever worked with.
I don’t like the way she bends over the photocopier—it makes my mouth water.
I hate the way she’s so eager to do a good job—it makes my dick twitch.
And I can’t stand the way she wears her hair up exposing her long neck. It makes me want to strip her naked, bend her over my desk and trail my tongue all over her body.
If my two worlds are going to collide, Harper Jayne will have to learn that I don’t just rule the boardroom. I’m in charge of the bedroom, too.

I enjoy everything this author writes. These books are amazing and entertaining. Do I need to say hot!!!
It was an okay story.
Great book.
Hot hot loved it
I really enjoyed this story. It’s sexy, sweet and funny. Great chemistry between the characters. I can’t wait to read more books by Louise Bay.
This book had me at the knowledge that it was a work romance. I love the forbidden aspect of it…because you can hardly go wrong with it.
From well, boss-employee/enemies to lovers– that was Harper and Max. The King of Wall Street who kept his work and life separated, and the woman who he wanted but wouldn’t touch for the same reason.
But Harper, she tried, she really tried to not be a bitch to the arsehole at work, but outside work, all bets came off and that’s where the real fun began.
As if the lingering tension masqueraded as irritation at work wasn’t enough, outside work the fireworks, the steam was absolutely explosive.
What was more was their connection, the need to be with each other despite anger and angst. Phew, creates the best kind of page turner eh!
This office romance will definitely have you wishing you had a boss that looked like an Adonis, and the arse of football players. Well, if you don’t have it already.
But, also it will bring out respect and empathy out of you, and make you root for two stubborn knuckleheads.
On Wall Street, Max is shrewd, exacting and ruthless. At home, he is a single dad trying to keep his 14-year-old daughter a kid for as long as possible. His daughter never does what he says, and nothing he does is ever right. Harper begins as a junior researcher at his firm, and the barriers between his worlds begin to dissolve. She is the most infuriating woman he has ever worked with. He does not like the way she bends over the photocopier; it makes his mouth water. The way she wears her hair exposing her long neck makes him want to strip her naked. If his two worlds collide, Harper will have to learn that he does not just rule the boardroom, he is in charge of the bedroom too. – Max and Harper are both smart, caring and hard workers. Their chemistry is off the charts. They are great together. Max’s daughter, Amanda, and Harper immediately connect. Amanda makes the story better, and Max’s sisters are fun characters. I loved the book and was not ready for it to end. I would like to read about their next 10 years together.
A Nice quick read. I enjoyed it very much for a mindless beach read
Fast paced, witty, and fun. Highly recommend – a great read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The actions and attitude of a 14 year old daughter are so true! While I always enjoy a romance, the development of the HEA family rang true!
A page turner with a good story line and character development that kept my attention. A brilliant book escape!
I loved this wall street billionaire story.
I liked this story. Mac is a devoted father and loves his little girl and I loved the fact that he had such a good relationship with Pandora her mother and step father. Broke some preconceived notions one might have about the atypical family. I have to say most of the book Harper annoyed me. I have some mild “daddy issues” too but I still don’t act like she did. The back and both hate you like you crap got old. And she Never gave anyone the benefit of the doubt just assumed the worst. And was totally wrong about max when it can to his family and all that. I like how the book ended.
*3.5-4 Stars*
My first Louise Bay book and I will read more. I wasn’t too sure sometimes about these two characters and the way they treated each other despite their chemistry.
I liked Max’s daughter and sisters, and I liked Harpers friend, so there were some fun secondary characters in this too.
I enjoyed this for the most part and will read more by this author.
This was a fast paced read that was very steamy, it is also the first Louise Bay book I have read although I have a bunch on my TBR shelf.
The push and pull between Max and Harper was interesting because yes there was chemistry between the two of them but she has major daddy issues and he’s a great father to his daughter but it kind of messes with her head a bit.
Max likes to keep his professional and personal lives separate but with Harper he finds that hard to do, but this couple makes plenty of mistakes and the lines get blurred.
I listened to the audiobook version of this book and I thought the narrators, Sebastian York & Andi Arndt, did a wonderful job with bringing this story to life. I look forward to the rest of the series.
If you enjoy Office Romances or Steamy Romances I would recommend this book to you.
Happy Reading!!!
This is such a hot and sexy read that my e-reader threatened to catch fire not only once. WOW!
The chemistry between Harper and Max is incredibly hot and can’t be denied by either of them, they may fight it as they want. But mixing personal feelings and business is not the smartest idea … is it?
Both characters are absolutely comprehensible and have so many personality facets that appearances are deceptive.
I loved every twist of this story, every bump in the road, as it only increased the tension of whether they would find their happy ending or not.
This is clearly another page-turner from this very talented author.
Harper works for Max who happens to be here gorgeous, sexy, arrogant, ruthless boss who hates her. Or does he? Can these two figure out their meant to be together? Love Louise’s books. They’ll keep you hooked!
4.5 Vegas Style Stars!!
Louise Bay has written another grand slam for me. Once I picked up this book I was transformed into Max and Harper’s world. Add in Amanda and I lost sleep.
Harper has finished college and gotten a job as a junior researcher. Harper has followed Max King for as long as she can remember. Max King is ruthless and always gets the job done. She wants to be just as good as Max King and had hoped she’d do so well he’d take her under his wing. Except that didn’t happen. It seemed nothing Harper did was right. Even though Harper knew Max hated her, she can’t help but love his work and pray she can get thru her internship.
Max King lives in two different worlds. When he’s at work he runs the place. Whatever he wants he gets. People jump when he speaks. The woman are always available. But, with Max he takes them for a one night and he keeps it moving. Never getting their names. Then, there’s his other world. The world he cherishes with his whole life. Max had Amanda when he was younger. He may not of married Amanda’s mother but that didn’t mean he wasn’t in her life. Max loved his daughter with everything he had and then some. Amanda has moved in with Max full time and his life is crazy. Between Amanda, his 2 sisters, both Amanda’s grandmothers and mother. This poor guy can’t catch a break. Between the eye rolling and being told no. This guy is not the Max King:King of Wall Street everybody knows.
When Harper started working for Max his life got even more complicated. He takes his business very personal. He’d never cross the lines with his employees. But, it’s getting harder and harder for Max to be around Harper. If trying to avoid her at all costs wasn’t hard enough. When she moves into his apartment complex and Amanda falls in love with her. To finding out her dad is a client he’s been trying to get for years now. Everything in Max’s life is getting blurry and he can’t stop it.
Man, was this book hot, funny and non-stop. Even though Max was a powerful business man he never brought it home to his daughter. He was an overprotective father who did everything in his power to keep her a baby. Their interaction had me cracking up. Amanda is a typical teenager and it was nice to see BC most books I read about single parents, the children are toddlers. Max is my latest book boyfriend.
Harper I absolutely love! She went thru life with a father who ignored her. Now, she’s an adult trying to prove she doesn’t need him or his money. All while trying to hide the hurt he’s caused. She also wants to do so good at her job that her father will find out. And, realize he missed out. Harper was not prepared for falling for Max and ending up trying to land her dad as a client. Poof! Mind blown lol. She’s strong and good at hiding her insecurities. Yup, this is another hit from Louise.
King of Wall Street is one of my favorite books ever! I love the related books as well, but this one has a special place in my heart!
Hot, Hot, Hot!!!! This was a very steamy read!!! I have yet to read this author before but I was definitely a fan of her work! I’m a sucker for office romances and alpha males so this was the perfect read for me!!
Max King was known as the King of Wall Street. He had this confidence about him that was beyond attractive. I will say it was quite strange how Max was the King of the office but was pretty much clueless when it came to women and dating. I think he spent so much of his young adult years working on his career, that he had no idea how to date or what women wanted. I don’t think Max even knew what he wanted to be honest. Sure he had the hookup thing down pat BUT getting to know someone and spending time with them was an entirely different ball game.
As far as Harper goes, I loved her name. It’s my favorite girl name at the moment. I loved how hard she worked. I loved how she didn’t let an absentee father stop her from achieving her dreams. BUT I had some issues with her relationship with her father. Throughout the entire book, we are told her father did not care for her and just threw money at the situation to avoid any personal contact or effort. Then closer to the end, the situation comes to a head and we have the solution tied into a neatly wrapped bow. It was too perfect for me and did not coincide with what we thought this entire time. It also seemed a bit to rushed to wrap up the story line.
Max and Harper’s whirlwind romance was so fun to watch. I loved the playful banter they had with each other and seeing their feelings for each other before they themselves realized them. Have I mentioned how steamy this book was?! lol!!!
The epilogue for this one blew me away. I loved reading it and seeing what was going on with our characters. Please let this crew be included in the other books for this series.
